a small rebound because some shorts are covering...

we bounced back down from weekly sma20 yesterday. I am still short.
Well, it's the width that counts.

Everything point towards the dump. Probably into the 250$ range once again, sigh.

I don't see it this way. The news in the bitcoin world are positive and promising. There's also a decent amount of confidence in the price since we broke the downtrend.

But we have arguably had  the best news for bitcoin in the last few weeks, and thankfully few new scams ( no mega scam anyway, but they are still brewing) yet the price is still stagnant, moving only in a vague pump and dump cycle every few days.

We've had a massive ddos on mining pools for over a week now. A serious attack on the system. Not the most newsworthy of events, but it could influence buyers. That been said, the rise has progressed well. We're not late for anything.
4883  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 17, 2015, 06:01:01 PM
I wouldnt bet on the next halving.

I think that the next halving will cut the miners in half and bring more centralization, not bigger prices.

also, this isnt about bears, but delusional bulls who think that we have capitulated. they are cutting their expensive longs right now.

bears are in hibernation and waiting patiently.

Miners have been cut in half already. If the price rises before the halving you will see the landscape change even more. it's quite a dynamic industry. But I don't see how that will change the fact that the halving will reduce the number of new bitcoins on the market. Could you elaborate?

I see the tldr troll is back.  Guess confidence is growing among bears.

Short term looks like a good time to short, but buy back quick as I expect we'll be moving back up. The last time the 1D EMA/SMA lines made this pattern was July/August 2013.

Yep, the price moved like clockwork. $100, $110, $120 until it took off like chinese firecrackers. Now that people have the ability to short more easily, I doubt it will take off like that again. But a short sprint should be possible.

I know, and I think it's old news. But to be just as serious and frank as I'm drunk: Coindesk is a paradise when it comes to independent reporting. Their founder & owner is heavy invested in BTC. I really liked their report on the rumour that some IS people (called terrorists) said bitcoin is good for our strategy. PS. I am against IS great ambitions of making a global Khalifat. But I also see the similarities in Norway when Nazies rolled in to control my country.

I think Coindesk is the most unbiased, professional and independent news outlet about bitcoin today. Even with the owner (Who obviously understands how media should work).

Holy shit. You really are drunk as a lord. My colon is a more reputable source of crypo currency news. Coindesk looks shiny on the surface but a bad smell descends the closer you look, even worse than my colon.
Yes, I'm probably more drunk than you will ever be, looser.
Tell me, which one is better than Coindesk? (Reddit is seriously a phorum, it doesn't count)

There's nothing wrong with Coindesk. But half of the people in the Bitcointalk forums wear tinfoil hats and sit next to their gun collection trying to understand the world they live in.

Btw: The word is spelled loser. By misspelling it, it boomerangs on you.
Hey Fatman!!! I am sooo drunk now! I thank you for moving my attention to spelling. Actually, I'm not kidding because I have worked as a journalist in Norway for many years.  And correct spelling is important. I will call myself a "loser", not a "looser" in the future. And.... when I think about it... I think you are the guy contacting me on email with your military property trying to get investors for mining in Norway, ha ha! But what do I know? I'm in the market for norwegian bunkers myself! (But not for ASICs, he he). I run the tiny Oslo Bitcoin Meetup organization with only 150+ members. I have a good contact in scandiavias biggest VC company, but that relation can be toilet paper in a second, ha ha. PM if you want more, Ill try to be more constructive, but at the same time, your business model has to be better.

Ah, you are a journalist. That explains it. Funny, you didn't mention the VC company when I asked you, but now that you're in a drunken rage you're Mr.Connections. However, nobody's interested in my 12500m2 former NATO base in the friggin arctic anyway, and I'm done with begging. It will take longer to do it alone, but if that's how it's done then so be it.
Good! It was YOU! I don't have any connections. But I have a semi connection (Tellef).
Seriously, nobody cares about the squaremeters of your facility. It's all about the electricity bill. And no, I'm not journalist now, he he  Cheesy

But if the electricity bill is OK then you'll need somewhere to put the miners. You could either build a 20 million dollar facility yourself or you could put down 100k with me.

He's norwegian, I'm norwegian. I'm just saying that if you're trying to offend someone you should check your spelling, or it will boomerang on you.

@JimboToronto I didn't think of that, perhaps I should be looking out for boomerangs.

Well, his horrific insult was directed at me. I've been crying and thrashing and shaking ever since he wrote it but I choose to forgive/ not remotely care about the spelling. If I was completely and utterly destroying the life essence of another human being while drunk out of my head in a foreign language I'd probably make the odd blooper too.

I know, it's tough being called a looser. Especially when you've gone to such lengths to remain tight.

How cheap to criticize someone on his second or third language. How perfect do you speak yours?

alright fair enough but there is little to no content on top of that, i'm just saying they need to structure their thoughts instead of machine gunning and doing a light touch on ACH banking etc etc not really getting into any detail or having structure around what they're talking about

Teleprompters and cue cards are highly underestimated.

Yeez, have antpool just given up? I find it hard to believe that there is no solution to this problem.

BTW 0.0Hs for several hours now.

I am looking forward to the launch of Ethereum and I am trying to keep an eye on the development process. Doing so makes me appreciate how far Bitcoin has come, and how much it takes to get something like a cryptocurrency to work at all, let alone get someone to adopt it.

The Ethereum team has something called the Bug Bounty System which is a way to engage people to hunt down bugs.

One of the bugs they found were "Jonas Nick‘s discovery that you could send a negative payment to somebody which moves value from their account to yours!"

And this was scheduled to be released the 20th of March.
4894  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 15, 2015, 03:20:39 PM
stubborn realistic bulls.

22 mil of usd swaps opened.

ftfy

we will see about them being realistic once bears really start their attack.

I think bulls panic the best and the last.

The only thing I've ever agreed with you about, is the fact that the powers that be will want to squeeze longs eventually. BUT the fact the we had a great capitulation at $160, then a month of sideways action, then 3 weeks now of upwards grind, the best scenario would be to continue up and create even more confidence. This would squeeze most of the shorts out, and create even more longs (during this time I would loan out my USD at a high rate to gain a few %). While the shorts close out as we move up, I would start borrowing coins for extremely cheap rates, but not sell them just yet. The masses will gain confidence and help propel the price and USD rates up. Once we get to high 300s I would drop the hammer, and take most by surprise. I would sell all those coins I borrowed and eat up all the closing longs on the way down. For now, the problem is most of the longs opened were opened under and close to 200, so to close them out we would need to create a lower low, which isn't cheap. Whales have much less to gain now by dumping and squeezing longs, than to move up more and do it later.

The fact that we still have bears around here running their mouths means we are not ready yet for a drop. Once the bears go completely silent... Watch Out!!!

confidence that we will break 300 easily -   ✓

8 mil of new longs opened -   ✓

plenty of cheap coins to borrow -   ✓

bulls thinking that we already had capitulation -  ✓

no cheap dolla' / dolla' going ballistic -  ✓

somebody already hammering the order book -   ✓

Good luck dude!

Tarmi you dawg! You know we're going up. Why won't you celebrate with us?

as time goes by I am more and more convinced that the party is already over and that this was an epic bull trap.

You used to be so mellow, do you miss NLC?
4895  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 15, 2015, 11:28:57 AM
Bears just waiting for someone to sell. Long swaps at 0.1% interest is high, but that is only the last few days of swap total.

The order books look better matched than they have for weeks.

One big buy and the bearish sentiment will evaporate in a  puff of smoke. Like most of the leveraged bears did the last month.

The "bearish sentiment" is solely connected to the imagined barrier of $300. If you look at 1d charts we are still just moving up the stairway to heaven.

Edit: So by wednesday we should be past $300.

Exactly. Real support is 1700 for me and then probably head and shoulders pattern with right arm to 1800.
But probably bearish formation in this case:/

I don't see the real rebound from 1760-70 level. I'll hold my short @296$ longer.
If price will drop below 1600cny, situation is really bad (I don't think we'll reach 1600 but who knows).

Anyway, good luck to all!

Btw.
I have no fucking idea who's opening longs now from actual price level (without real support imo), but people like gambling lol.

If I were you I would be watching the price like a hawk from this evening CET until monday morning CET. This may still blow up in either direction.

Edit: Those exuberant longs should be a worry for anyone going short as well.

When the blue/yellow lines cross, prepare for another nose dive...

Just like the time before it happened on that chart?

Uptrend has been broken.

How? Why?

what do you guys think loaded meant with the post if we are ready for the weekend?  Wink

So i guess Loaded meant that he will fuck the price up  over the weekend Wink

Or that something always happens at the weekend and loaded is full of shit.

Long swaps are not going down, I'm going to bed. Will be interesting to see what price I wake up to.
