Payment has been recieved, thanks! I just wanted to note that I joined literally a few days ago, and that reaching 50 posts in that short a time period is impossible. Thanks for understanding Smiley I'll probably get to 50 this month.

--EDIT--
was payment for something else, lol. kinda confused. I'll keep posting.
4882  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: June 16, 2016, 12:55:31 AM
Well, price could possibly drop to 1900 or so and there'd be almost no difference. The problem is, Bitmain has the right to manipulate the prices as much as they like, because they're the only big company making any chips and miners right now. i'm guessing the "demand"(pretty high, i assume) will make the price go up AGAIN for the S9. Dunno why it's "limited edition" though. Maybe I missed something, but aren't all their miners "limited"? They all eventually become not produced anymore.

Suspect they are doing a bit of hype by limiting purchases to 5 units or less per order.  Doing so makes the home miner feel like the data centers won't overwhelm them, and perhaps by limiting the sale somewhat, difficulty won't spike as bad.  Note its 5 per order, not aware of anything to prevent someone from having 200 orders in.

I don't think it is done to cause a "bit of hype".  I personally think it has to do with it being new, but I am speculating there.   As far as more then 5 you should not be able to as they do mention it is per user:  "Because of this batch's limited quantity, there is a maximum limit of 5 units per user". This means that one user should not be able order more than 5 miners.

So it should again be monitored by wording based on username I would guess.   But I have not heard sharing ordering 5+ so we really don't know but I still don't think done for hype.
Still pretty easy to get around, make a new account and buy 5, rinse and repeat. Unless they catch 1 address buying 300 miners for a farm, it shouldn't be a big deal. Maybe use a friend's address if you're desperate and don't want to get caught, but it's too new imo, and for the average buyer, 5 is more than enough. There's a possibility they just have a lack of the new 16nm chips to manufacture the miner (hence limited quantity) and so they're trying to cap the buy amounts so that orders don't get backed up, but that's just my guess. I really doubt they care much about the difficulty, if anything, they're the only provider selling current generation miners at the moment, and for them , more sales is more money. That's really all I can think of for logical ways for why it's so limited.
4883  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: June 15, 2016, 11:05:39 PM
I also wanna buy S9, B3 but the price went up 100$?? better wait then after halving..

in theory the batch 3 will ship today if you pay today.

while batch 2 ships on the 20th

so for 100 usd  you get it 5 days faster.

it would earn 95 usd in 5 days if you have 10 cent power

it would earn 103 usd in 5 days if you have 5 cent power.

4884  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Signature Campaigns Sure Do Look Better w/ BTC at $620... on: June 15, 2016, 10:58:25 PM
The one that really blows my mind is bit-x/coinsbank. With the price as it is now they're paying out nearly $85 a week to each of the high rankers. That's a ton of money to be parting with.
Well, they're willing to pay the price, and not every person will max out the number of posts they can get. It's usually not nearly as much as you think; with daily campaigns, a cap of 20 posts like yobit is pretty generous. It's difficult to max out the number of posts you can get in most campaigns, because most people only have so much time in a day. Yeah, it's true that they're giving that much to them, but like I said, it's difficult to make the maximum. Some people might be, but they probably have lower quality posts. There's a reason behind everything, you just have to find out.
4885  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Signature Campaigns Sure Do Look Better w/ BTC at $620... on: June 15, 2016, 04:15:51 PM
It also is corresponding with the higher number of accounts being sold, because there's too few campaigns to join nowadays. If you're like me and have left just about every single major campaign on the forum, you're fcked, and the only profitable way out is to sell your account. AFAIK almost every single campaign has changed their payout , and most of it is going lower. Some campaigns have now put a cap on the maximum posts, and it gets lower and lower. One upside to this is that there's much less spamming going on in the forum, but there's also a huge flood of people that want to earn 'easy' bitcoin on the forum, and so high-paying campaigns are hard to get into- a campaign paying 0.05btc/month or up with 20 slots will literally fill up in less than 5 minutes. Definitely a good time if you're in a higher paying campaign, but most of the bigger ones are lowering their pay because they can- it's still the same USD value, but less bitcoin. Guess they wanna save money.
4886  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Zero fee transaction on: June 15, 2016, 04:09:40 PM
Is there a way to create zero fee transaction anymore. The only way I knew was Blockchain.info and it seems they have removed it now.

PS: I need it for technical purpose.

If you really want to do it, and since I actually don't know any other way of doing this to be honest, you should try using Blockchain.info with the legacy version. AFAIK they still allow it.

But what's the point of a zero fee transaction anymore?
I'm pretty sure they still let you create 0 fee transactions on the beta wallet, but the last time I did one on there, it took half a day to confirm it. There really is no point unless you're low on money and need to pay somebody, but have no extra bitcoin to make the transaction fee. It's just too damn slow nowadays to make one of those, and besides, if it doesn't confirm the mempool just sends it back and you've done absolutely nothing.

well, no response for a half day now, i'm going to assume there's either no spots left anymore or the op is offline for the day. Will wait for tommorow, but i've got plenty of time.
4888  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Help me build the perfect mining setup... on: June 15, 2016, 12:22:44 PM
I've been using mostly Seasonic for a long time - did get a couple of EVGA 1300 G2 units when I had the S5 farm, as they were on sale at the time and lots of "they're good" recommendations - they worked fine but haven't had them long enough or pushed them long enough to have a solid opinion yet.

A couple of my A2 units got X1250 transplants - the EVGA flat out didn't fit right, the Seasonics did fit fairly well, partly they're a bit shorter and partly the modular connections were better placed to clear the fan/control board.

I wouldn't hesitate to trust Rosewill for cases and keyboards and the like (not mice - I HATE mice, nothing but Logitech Trackmen around here!) but their lack of transparency in who makes the PS makes me inclined to not trust them there.

Oh for those that say "you'll never repurpose those ATX power supplies, just go server" - of my current 4x X1250 and pair of EVGA 1300s, ALL of the Seasonics are currently in machines (2 A2s, 2 computers) and one of the EVGA's is my current "bench setup" power supply (the other one is currently a spare but it might get hooked to a Batch 2 S9 when the price gets reasonable).

Not knocking the server supplies - just prefer the flexability of "ack, dead PS, grab whatever I've got as a spare 'till I can get a real replacement!" for almost anything in house.

I can see the S5 still being a good option in some cases for a FREE ELECTRIC miner, they've come down enough that you can match the hashrate of a S7 with enough S5s at less cost with a LITTLE digging - abet the power usage and heat are higher, the flexability of being able to use much smaller PS and the lower power draw per unit might be a major plus if they have to share circuits with something else.
I wouldn't bother with anything older though.

The EVGA SuperNova G2s is one of their best lines because they are just relabeled SuperFlower PSUs which are very prestigious PSUs in the computer world. This also includes the T2 and P2 from EVGA which are also just rebranded SuperFlower Leadex
Does EVGA really just rebrand half of their psus? That might be why all of the 400 watt ones that I buy from them all break... :/ Don't tell me their other stuff are rebrands too!
Thermaltake, Corsair and Cooler Master also provide some pretty good power supplies, they are just around the quality of EVGA. I used them in some of my pcs, and they've been running fine. Reliability isn't too big of an issue as long as you look at reviews of products beforehand. Don't buy from no-name brands, they will ruin your miners. I've had a problem with a cheap psu I got from ebay, and it ruined the power connector on my S3. Just melted. I could only use 1 power cord on it for the rest of the time I used it. Not a big problem, as I never overclock, but still, a bit depressing.
4889  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: June 15, 2016, 12:18:49 PM
How much is the s9
Around 2100USD, the problem is, the first batches are sold out and already shipped. You'll need to wait for the next batch, and by then, you'll only have a few days left until the halving. Price will probably go down and shift around until the price of bitcoin levels out. Still, I don't expect that the next batch will be too expensive, maybe 1900$ but not any higher.
4890  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S7 (4.73 TH/s, 0.25 J/GHs) Batch 19 Releases Tomorrow on: June 15, 2016, 12:14:40 PM
4.723 Terrahash and 0 0.25J7 GH --- AMazing!
At 0.10$/kwh, you'll make around 125$ until the halving, then expect another 100 dollars or so before negative mining reward. Yeah... Definitely not something you'd want to buy for profit, but if this is a miner for learning, it's a good one. Honestly, if you're going to learn, you might as well buy a S7-LN. Free psu, and runs a basically the same efficiency. Same miner with less hashrate. Dunno why anybody would buy this, if you'd like to lose money, might as well buy a S7-LN. Different story at 0.05$/kwh, but still, no profit to be found there. Unless you have free electricity, S7-LN is the way to go instead of this.
4891  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: What temp do you consider to be actual max for your miner(s)? on: June 15, 2016, 12:10:02 PM
70 is the point where I'll underclock a miner. Above 70, temps are not optimal and you'll be losing operating hours on the miner. 90 is overheating, turn off the miner and contact whoever you bought the miner from. 100.... Never been there. Depending on the type of miner, contact the company that sold it to you and ask why it's that high. If you're having temperature problems, either put a fan into the intake fan so it increases the rate of which heat exits the miner at least to the point where it's not above 80, or buy a new fan. Server-grade fans work well for bitcoin mining as they have exceptionally high rpm, but they're mostly very small and you'll need to have a bit of time to find the right one. General 120mm fans work. if you really want a good fan, try a noctua.
4892  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: INVEST BITCOIN!!! on: June 15, 2016, 11:59:25 AM
Investing is gambling. Anything involving putting your money into something to get more money is gambling. Ponzis can be profitable if you are the first person to join them, but generally there's so many scams that you'd have to be pretty lucky to stumble upon a new "Legit"(for now) Ponzi that pays. Most of the time, it'll seem like just as you deposit your money into a Ponzi, they take it and run. Trading can be a gamble, but if you're smart and invest wisely or hodl coins, it should work out. There's no good way of investing with bitcoin, because I can guarantee you about 5/6ths of cloudmining operations are scams. If you gotta mine, buy the physical miner. There's a safe way for everything.

Bitcoin mining doesn't make much sense right now unless you have cheap (free) electricity
The S9 does, if you're willing to. At electricity costs of 0.10$/kwh, you might be able to make a slim profit. We can't predict past the halving accurately, but chances are, if you buy the S9 right now (which is impossible, they don't currently sell on Bitmain's page, wait for the next batch) you will at least make ROI. If prices continue to keep going up, then for now, S7s will continue to make Bitcoin until the halving, when they'll just be too much of a hassle to run at 0.1$kwh. Supposing you run a S9 and have it now, you'll likely be able to make around 500$. Then the halving comes, and we have no way of knowing the prices or the difficulty.

4895  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Will difficulty jump over 200 billion at block halving? on: June 15, 2016, 10:18:04 AM
And 2012 we were a mostly gpu network coins were around 8 to 12 usd.

So a small drop 10 to 15 % in 2012 is not surprising.

This 1/2 ing I see 18 to 30 percent drop.

But it will recover in August and September .

it is probably price-dependent.
at btc $450 you are probably right (18-30%)
at btc 677 maybe 10-15%
at btc 800 5% or less.

incidentally, in 2012 difficulty dropped not AT block size change, but 4 weeks later.
If the network drops 30% I'm basically all in at that point. It will usually take some time for people to know and accept that mining won't be profitable at their electricity rate and hardware anymore. So until then I only see it going up with the price.
It's not likely it'll drop THAT much, as one s9 replaces (in hashrate)about 4 S7s and 12 S5s... don't even make me go on. A few S9's can replace the hashrate of an entire mining farm, and we'll probably only see a small dip in the difficulty and hashrate, so don't get too excited. My guess is around 15% or less will drop out, but I'm being pretty generous and it could be much less since the S7s and avalon 6's will keep mining past the halving at this btc price.
4896  Economy / Digital goods / Re: $20 Steam account credit for only $2! BiPolarDeal! on: June 15, 2016, 12:41:20 AM
!!!BE AWARE ITS SCAM!!!
I'm going to buy one just to see what happens. Steam doesn't ban for stolen gcs anymore, and I've got a few dollars left in my wallet, so I've got nothing to lose. Clearly there's a reason they're being sold so low, but for now, we wait for something to happen. Won't leave a review, but will confirm that product is received once I get it.
4897  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Questions about outdoor bitcoin mining on: June 15, 2016, 12:23:05 AM
I want to build an outside bitcoin mining box that will have a roof and vents for Antminer s7, but will condensation be a problem? what about in the winter will it be too cold for it? I live in Canada. In the summer would it be too hot? Rain won't be the issue I will come up with a pretty good box design. What if it shuts down for what ever reason will it be okay?

As long as the rigs are mining, i think its okay. But if snow get in there, not so much. If you shut it down, i dont think you should boot it at -40C, no. Typically the best is to dump the heat out. If it was a proper heated shed, then sure why not, you could use the miner's output to keep the shed at a ok tempt and just vent what you need to keep the temps to something like 10C.

Not really true I don't think on as long as they are mining it's ok.  If water can get in corrosion is possible most keep far away from water for this reason.   This is dated at this point but shows what water corrosion can do to a miner - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=521520.msg11018389#msg11018389 .  So it can be running and still get corrosion.

A box outside that allows air in/out sounds like a way for water/snow/dust/other bad things to get in.   Putting it outside just scares me.   I don't see many "mining boxes" outside being weather proof.

Right, but i'm talking about a small shed "box", you can't leave electronic exposed to the outdoor in any case. They're going to get flooded and shorted long before corrosion sets in.
You might be able to get away with a shed with a fan inside that pipes out the hot air inside, kind of like a greenhouse fan but in a shed. That way, water and stuff won't get in... but seriously, why put it outside? Unless you live in some place where it's cold for 3/4 of the year, there really is no point for doing this for cheap cooling. Your house is a lot safer, and if any natural disasters happened, your choice place of putting your miners at probably isn't in a shed in your backyard. With high humidity levels, vapor can build up and you'll have rust and corrosion problems. There's so many issues with a outdoor shed for bitcoin that it's pretty pointless.
4898  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Pair on s-9s now running photos to come . on: June 14, 2016, 11:51:11 PM
I guess with these high temps we can assume that the fans are as loud or even louder than the S7s
They'll probably run even hotter at the default clockrate. I wouldn't be surprised to see miners breaking down in the summer heat. With these temps, you'd either have to underclock or replace the fans altogether- those temps will shorten the running time dramatically. Disappointed that Bitmain shipped a miner clocked so high that it can't even manage it's default clock speed without high temps. Just more proof that their quality is going downhill fast...

Lol sorry, ninja edited 3 times. Perfectionist :c

I've heard elsewhere that there are some guys working on a faster chip for mining litecoin! does anyone knows if that is for sure? a alchemist guys say that they have a powerful chip! Maybe a rumor? I've lost the source of that information, can't confirm!
Alcheminer? Yes, they have a usb miner plus a larger miner. http://www.alcheminer.com/ <--- No usb miner, the usb is made by Futurebit.
there's the Futurebit Moonlander that uses the Alcheminer chip, runs up to 1+mh/s that's made for scrypt mining, and matching software for it. The thread is found at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1248914.0
It's not sold by jstefanop anymore, but there's plenty of resellers (Asicpuppy used to sell them, but they ran out) on Amazon and eBay. If you decide to get one, it's basically the Gekkoscience Compac of the Scrypt world- plenty of overclocking and modding possible, and made by the community. Alcheminer also sells their own miners if you'd like to get one, but personally I'd spend my money supporting forum members than some company I don't know well.
4900  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: bitcoin goes high, halving gets near what's the 'near future' of mining? on: June 14, 2016, 09:49:23 PM
With the last halving and observing other coins' halvings, there's a trend where obsolete hardware doesn't simply fall out on the day of the halving, but it slopes downwards as people are reluctant to stop all their miners at once. Once a few days pass, it goes down steeply as people realise the situation. Difficulty won't drop drastically, but it'll probably be over time, and it probably won't even be so deep as people expect. Old hardware like S7s will eventually be obsolete, even though it may take a while for that to set in. Avalon S6s are already dead, and possibly even the company as they're so damn far behind that they might as well stop trying to make a new chip at 16nm, and try for a later time. Bitmain's probably going to dominate the new miner section, as even Bitfury is screwed, and their chips might never come out. Last generation gear and below will die, with the general area of .20w/gh and up dying. We'll see a shallow drop in difficulty and hashrate, them a steep rise with S9's being phased in, to sum it all up.
All of this is because of the unreal bitcoin price. Realistically, miners thought a cap of 700$ was the max, but now we're nearly past that and there are no signs of this stopping. The price may poke near 900$ at the halving, and when that happens, S7s may still be marginally profitable, but only for a few weeks.
