Now, BTC is following a consistent downwards trend since April, 10th, full of bull traps and sucker rallies, but a consistent downwards trend nevertheless. I just see the trend and I do not fight it.

This and this only. Your own feelings have nothing to do with it.
4882  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: will the bitcoin reach $1000 one day...? on: July 04, 2013, 05:26:26 AM
If $266 was possible, $1,000 will be a breeze.
4883  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: July 03, 2013, 10:13:27 PM

I would like to be that positive, but why is that so?

1. It's either 0 or the moon for Bitcoin. Therefore, I would rather want to be positive if I am in this for the long run.

2. We've had not 1 but 2 similar situations in the recent past. BTC can go much lower the next few months, but it did not die the previous times either.

3. I already got my investment back times x. I can lose whatever I have at stake (currently dollars @ Gox which could vanish as well during my vacation  Tongue ) without shearing one tear.
That helps. That really really helps to remain positive.

For profit, I have to part from my emotional part that says 'hold on for the longest time'. Therefore, I'm currently out of BTC and await what happens. I mean, look at this chart: http://bitcoincharts.com/charts/mtgoxUSD#rg180zigDailyztgSza1gSMAzm1g10za2gEMAzm2g25zxzi1gMACDzi2gRSIzl
What does it tell you?
What does it scream in your face?

It tells you that its going down, and probably down for quite a bit and over a longer period of time. No guarantees, but I am acting pursuant to that conviction. If I am wrong, I can always buy again at a certain loss.

BTC is blowing off some steam. The lower it goes the next few months, the more room to crush $266 again in the long run. Consider this an opportunity.

You are supporting the right coins except for the runner-up: Feathercoin. This wallet software could grow to something big.

The fix won't be in until the larger part of this forum has started to do other things in life than checking this forum every 5 minutes. I remember BTC sliding towards 0 in 2011 and almost forgetting about it in the process.

The website does not show any products. The mine craft maps page (how does a visitor get there?) does not show a portfolio or test download to assess your skills. First prepare your business, and advertise afterwards.

No offense but how do you have so many coins and not understand one of the most special things about them  Cheesy

I do not know all details of the banking system or my computer's OS either but I still use them regularly. I thought stake was not relevant for me since my wallet is encrypted.

Consider me rich when, not if, PPC reaches $1,000  Grin

Question: why does my wallet not show the correct amount? It should be around 8200 but only shows 1800 (and some 6400 as 'stake')?

4893  Economy / Speculation / Re: ...AND THE BOTTOM IS... on: June 30, 2013, 09:40:32 PM
Be smart. Only below $30 it is attractive to add to current supply.
4894  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will reach $10,000 on: June 30, 2013, 09:38:30 PM
Even at very moderate adoption numbers, the big surge would happen before 2020. The recent run up to $266 just spoiled us a little bit  Shocked  Roll Eyes

Of course Bitcoin won't be the new currency of choice. Politicians won't choose Bitcoins as new world currency. Only the people themselves can decide so.
4896  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Feathercoin to partner with other leading alt currencies on: June 28, 2013, 08:45:00 AM
How does one single person affect a crypto-currency to the extent that the coin would die? It's is basically the same as saying that you should not trust Bitcoin because a high-profile user that posts a lot about Bitcoin is very enthusiastic about that coin. I fail to see the connection.

Remember, these coins are nothing more than tokens that happen to be exchangeable very easy and against very low costs. The value in a coin is derived from the community behind that coin. And from that perspective, everyone can make a distinction between Litecoin and Feathercoin themselves.

We are still in major price discovery modus. This applies to all coins, including Bitcoin. However, the idea has been set free and will never go back into the bottle again. From that perspective, the quarrel between coin-factions is rather amusing but highly irrelevant for the broader picture. I would say: become partners instead of adversaries.

Now we just need a few "Bitcoin is dead" stories before the next big run-up Smiley

The bible says that money is the root of all evil.

Quote that? I believe it actually says the love of money is the root of all evil.

New International Version (©2011)
"For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.

II have seen this misquoted so many times.  The LOVE of money is the root of ALL KINDS of evil, not all evil.

Money is not evil in itself but I think everyone could agree that loving it can lead to some serious problems for sure.

I believe Ann Rand shed a few woods over this (in the book: Atlas Shrugged).
