This auction is for the GOLD level mining package for 0.05 BitCoins Mining rate @ 1250Mh/s Return of 0.0755+ BitCoins in 3 Days! + Processing time For more information go to http://www.MiningUnited.comReally? This looks like a ponzi - nobody is going to be selling 1250MH/s of hashpower if he makes more from mining.

Yeah, interest is calculated precisely to how long your coins where deposited. This is to avoid people depositing all their coins 1 min before interest is paid, and taking it out after they get interest
|
|
|
I'm curious why someone would want to buy hashpower in the first place, other than (i) money laundering, (ii) double spending, (iii) pool hopping.

PROBABLE SCAM
By probable, I mean "extremely likely". Check out his abandoned thread in the Securities section This is his fourth or so thread in this section by the way.
Some people have made money with pirateat40, but most lost. There is nothing but hot air behind this, this guy predicts $50 and $250, then says it's going to be $250, and then says his 99.98% accurate when the price drops to $50.01. I suggest placing him on the ignore list.

So they do have mining software that supports it.

I don't think "known scammers" is the right phrase. I was also involved in the BFL bet, on the winning side. I was very irritated that they set it as a draw, but I did get my money back (i.e. no one scammed me out of anything).
I haven't had any other problems with them. Every other bet I've participated in was judged correctly and I got my payout, and they respond quickly to requests for support.
I wanted to bet against bitcoin-24 returning their coins, so if they don't I win some coins (and if they do, I get my money back so it's a win-win!). But if no one bets on the other side there isn't anything to be won...
Yes, they scammed you. You were scammed out of your winnings. Think of playing some BTC on SatoshiDICE lessthan1. You clearly won, as it states the lucky number 0 and you've verified it since it's provably fair. But SD returns your 0.01 bet and goes "sorry, but we returned your money, so we didn't scam you!"

The problem is this right here: However, the Bitcoin private key which is required to send money is encrypted in your browser before it reaches our servers.
Therefore our servers only hold encrypted private keys and neither we nor anyone else can spend your Bitcoins. Only you.

|
StrongCoin operators have intercepted coins that may have being stolen from OzCoin. This shows that the StrongCoin operator can steal your coins. This directly contradicts their statement on the website: However, the Bitcoin private key which is required to send money is encrypted in your browser before it reaches our servers.
Therefore our servers only hold encrypted private keys and neither we nor anyone else can spend your Bitcoins. Only you. Do not use strongcoin thinking it is a hybrid wallet. It is not about if you steal any coins or not, but this shows StrongCoin do have access to your coins. Imagine if they were hacked, or if the owner did a Instawallet. Use Blockchain.info (the chrome extension) and back up your private keys. Info: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=186051.0
