4921  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What or how does it feels to grow in rank?! on: July 11, 2020, 03:54:33 PM
to be honest:
feels good for one day but the next day you'll feel like nothing changed.
in the end of the day ranking up  here is pretty simmilar to earning more money or suceeding in other parts of life:
provide more value, solve more problems, and you'll have more sucess.

but life is not about it.
at least not only that.
the meaning is deeper.
4922  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is your main goal... ? on: July 11, 2020, 03:49:08 PM
<...>
- Airdrops: usually gives shitcoins they at first have value but gradually decrease in value
<...>

those who got the frist Decred ($DCR) and NEM ($XEM) airdrops would probably disagree with you.
they got more than 1 BTC on airdrops and in some parts of the world (actually in many parts) 1 BTC is more than enough to live a simple and comfortable life for more than 2 years.

what I see and from my research airdrops are a matter of throwing it all to the wall and seeing what sticks.
you'll get tons of shitcoins worth 10 $USD or less.
but at some point 1/99 hits a jackpot.
4923  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Tips and Information] Privacy and How to Stay Anonymous Online on: July 11, 2020, 03:45:08 PM
In my opinion, it’s enough to buy a subscription to a good VPN, which does not save logs, and does not significantly reduce your speed, and of course it does not steal your traffic.
In addition, you can install the extension blocking ads and scripts in your browser. This will be quite enough to remain anonymous on the network, and at the same time have an easy and quick connection to the network.

VPN is a must as a first layer of protection but thinking it is enough is a common mistake.

if you're googling something logged in your account it is already not private.
if you use the same email in more than one website
if you don't use an adblock and allow cookies on your browser it'll also track you for target ads (which can be usefull but can also be scary).

of course, most of the people dont need deep level of protection but those who work on activism, as an example, should really protect themselves, we know what government can do with people that question their shady activities.

gave you one extra merit because I like the attitude.
always good to see members willing to share and help newbies and begginers that are just starting here.
this can be really motivating for those who are new.

4926  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots are better than Dice. on: July 07, 2020, 09:25:39 PM
Slots or dice, it depends on your gambling taste.

There are more dice players and websites than slots. I prefer both of them they both are different in their own ways. Dice is more entertaining than slots for me. In both games the odds of any particular number coming up is well known to players and casino alike. The secret is the level of entertainment that you get while playing both the games
Damn right! Comparing it is like you compared poker and blackjack. It will be all depending on the gambler on what will he choose to play, There are some people who think of one of these game is hard and easy, We all have different opinions and experiences about these two games and Fighting over that slots is better than dice is an actual waste of time because it is very subjective. Asking a question might be a nicer way of approach.

definitely, the style is totally different, and also not all gamblers play the same games at all ties, some like to vary
so sometimes they'll play dice, sometimes they'll play slots.

absolutes are always hard to say, because of how things changes.

4931  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US Presidential Election 2020 on: July 07, 2020, 09:07:36 PM
trump will win its not about poitics. I made a killing last year on trump. Its really simple electoral college is made for trump and states that trump needs to win he will because not enough demcratc will come out and vote in those states and trump supports will always comes out. They dont support republcains they support trump

Once again, you guys are assuming that what happened in 2016 would repeat in 2020. That is not going to happen, and we saw that during the 2018 senate elections. Even states which were once considered as Republican strongholds, such as Arizona ended up electing Democrat senators. The reading on the wall is loud and clear. Trump was relatively unknown in 2016, and it worked to his advantage. But now people have realized that he is as bad as anyone out there.

I reckon that there might be many patriotic Americans who are not political but would vote for Trump because they dislike the fringe extreme leftists who riot and tear down historical statues. Do not underestimate how many those type of voters are.

Also, Trump has a strong voter base that would never leave him.

it's always hard to look at mass media to take conclusions but I'd avoid using absolutes (always/never) when itcomes to politcs

anything can happen.

4932  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can we still enjoy the anonymity in gambling in the long run? on: July 07, 2020, 09:05:14 PM
Edward Snowden says that technology is always 2 or 3 generations ahead of laws.

there are some development and things that happen online that laws will always lack and try to adjust to be able to contemplate.
worth remembering that.
4933  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker games that are providing free plays to earn real money on: July 07, 2020, 09:03:30 PM
pokerstars and everestpoker also have tournaments forfree where you can play and earn money and start scalating tournaments little by little, I have a friend who earns a couple thousand dollars each money and lives only out of poker

though it's quite stressfull life, he smokes a lot and plays 9 tables at once.

have you listened to Colin Hay?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLuQHVmGysM

is not 100% related to gambling but the songs are amazing

sometimes he sings about alcohol which can be related to losing money on gambling.
it happens quite ofter, right? we drink until we die after losing rent's money by playing on the casino.

4935  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why KYC is extremely dangerous – and useless on: July 07, 2020, 08:59:22 PM
Binance may have been a reliable exchange in the past, but Binance can be hacked just as any other exchange.

Just like your bank, your police station, airport, tax office and every other entity that has ever stored your sensitive data. IMO binance security is on higher level than most of those including banks.

Well, that's true. But if my bank is hacked and money is stolen or they have violated data protection laws, then the bank must pay the compensation or can be sued. That is not the case with Binance. You don't even know where to turn for a legal action. Malta? China? Singapur? Hongkong? All the institutions you mentioned are subject to strict legislation.

indeed, your bank would be more responsible by your funds in the case of a hack.

BUT it's worth to remember that binance and bitmex have their funds, (remember SAFU?) and have copensated users due to hacking loss in the past.
4936  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Stablecoins on: July 07, 2020, 08:57:46 PM
Stable coins are only a relative term. Stable coins, in theory, must be backed by something considered widely as stable asset, like fiats, golds, and any precious things. Unfortunately, fiats, gold, precious things are not truly stable. They are usually stable but sometimes, they are volatile like what we see price of gold. Fiat currencies are a big joke, and they are only stable on the paper desk, in theory. In countries with hyperinflation, fiat currencies are not stable. One fiat currency is stable today but it will be a trash paper next 6 months.
No fiat currency is stable today, even dollar is not stable.
Also, you have said the reason why stable currencies can not be backed by fiats, gold or any other stock.
Stable currencies are not fiats or gold or any stock and cannot be backed by them, they are like unstable currencies that are not backed by anything, only difference are the prices that are not volatile but relatively stable. Stable currencies should not be backed by anything than increasing or decreasing in the stable coin supply in relation to the demand and selling of the the stablecoin in a way to maintain relatively constant price.

nothing is stable.
period

but sometimes OP or anyone may want to have a currecny that's closer related to their country fiat currency, nothing wrong with that.
it's not a good idea to have 100% of your assets in BTC or crypto because of the volatily, better to have at least some amount in fiat or some currency you'll need on day-to-day
4937  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: While using bitcoin there should be privacy on: July 07, 2020, 08:55:39 PM
as bob123 mentioned an ATM is not 100% private.

you can have more privacy buying on p2p and using a mixer like blender or chipmixer (or if you're buying eth using tornado.cash)

if you buy on exchange + mixer you'll already have more privacy than buying on an atm.

4940  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why KYC is extremely dangerous – and useless on: July 06, 2020, 09:45:30 PM
People move by incentives.
knowing that there are darkmarkets for KYC, documents and selfies I wouldn't be surprised it we had schemes of new exchanges giving 10 USD per KYC only to "flip" iton these markets and make some thousands or even million dollars (plus trading fees)
