4921  Economy / Speculation / Re: China mining decision May 7 on: May 04, 2019, 05:47:04 AM
Well, it's true that China will drop the decision within this week.
But where the heck did you find the data of the ratio of miners per country where China has 70% of the total hashrate?

Another thing is: total hashrate and the price can't really directly affect each other.
If the hashrate dropped due to closing Chinese mining farms, it's still up to them to immediately liquidate their crypto assets (especially Bitcoin) to be able to affect the market.

That might be not a far-fetched idea if trading or Cryptocurrency in general will be illegal in China alone.
Mining to be illegal, not much of a market buzz.
4922  Other / New forum software / Re: Cryptos-Currencies.Com : First forum using Epochtalk on: May 03, 2019, 06:46:20 AM
Has anyone of you experienced a delay with the confirmation email?
I can't complete my registration due to the delayed email (it's been 30 minutes at the time of writing).
Yes, I've tried to look in Spam, Trash or Archive but there's nothing.

BTW, I used a non-gmail email account: spam.collector@randomace.tk <-you can send spam here.
There's no "re-send confirmation email" button anywhere either.
4923  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Importing and Using Imported Address on: May 03, 2019, 05:40:24 AM
Import and Sweep are totally different features, maybe you misunderstood it?

When you Sweep, it will make a "Max/send-all" transaction using the address derived from the private key of that "imported address" and send it to an address within the wallet.
It (the input) will never be re-used nor saved to the wallet which why the balance from the later transactions didn't reflect to the wallet.

What you want is to Import the private key of the address, I believe that there's an option after pasting the private key: "1. Sweep and 2. Import".
Select the second option.
4924  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum pending on: May 03, 2019, 03:44:59 AM
Thanks guys...have  changed server and looking to download a VPN....will keep you updated
Again....Thank you
No, you misunderstood bob's post, a VPN will make it worse (the context "unless you aren't using a VPN", means that it might be one of the problem).
A regular connection is better.
4925  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: sending bitcoin to desktop wallet on: May 03, 2019, 02:55:13 AM
Here's an easy to follow steps for the instructions above:

[1] Select the number of words to generate, usually, people prefer "12".
[2] Click Generate.
[3] Copy this to a piece of paper (This will be your backup in case your wallet got deleted or corrupted)

  • B. Follow the next steps, it's self explanatory.
  • C. For Step 7 and newer Electrum versions, follow this instead:

It will automatically adjust the derivation path depending on your selection.
4926  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Wallet name suggestion on: May 02, 2019, 03:34:37 AM
While I am partly serious with my previous reply, I genuinely lol'ed when they considered my example "LemonPurse" as a participant.
For G's sake, it's not a decent wallet name an only given as an example of a "Common Word(s) - Two Syllables" brand   Roll Eyes

Okay, so it should resemble "All in one", I came up with the name "Unibit Wallet" but it was already taken or even patented.
If possible, change my submitted entry into: Unicoin Wallet (There's a slight resemblance with "Unocoin" though).

<edit> after an extensive research, there was shit-token name UniCoin  Undecided

-----BEGIN BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hi, I'm sumangs of bitcointalk.org
I own this address 05/01/2019
-----BEGIN SIGNATURE-----
36FyRqBPxZDjeJsFLsYubVrqbnexxXVMh7
-----END BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Quoted but not verified
you forgot to write the Signature
@sumangs That's an exchange address and can't be staked since you will not be able to sign a message nor spend the actual input(s) in case you needed it for account recovery/verification.

Reference: Wallet [00000dd86b]
I'm 100% positive that wallet dd86b is Coins.ph or Coins.pro Exchange's deposit address - from a trusted source  Wink

Stake another address from a wallet that you have full control over the private keys (ex. Electrum).
4928  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: nodl + eps + electrum [Server returned unexpected transaction ID] on: May 02, 2019, 02:28:42 AM
But i really don't know why i got the error and how to prevent it from happenig again.
The only possible reason is Electrum have connected to a malicious server despite the added parameters in the shortcut.
That message will show if the server tried "something else" other than broadcasting the transaction.

Try to edit Electrum's setting into "oneserver"=true.
You can find it in %appdata%/Electrum/config (open with notepad).
[%appdata% = Win+R->type %appdata%]
4929  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Blockchain 12 seed to ELECTRUM [BACKUP] on: May 02, 2019, 02:17:07 AM
After the import, did it produce the same addresses in the "address tab" (View->Show Address)?
  • If yes, it just needed to sync to be able to display the transaction history and balance.
  • If no, select the proper deviation path using the three options available for BIP39 SEEDs. (or the instructions above)

Next if you've successfully restored the addresses but the history didn't showed up:
  • Electrum needs to be v3.3.3 or above to be able to connect to a server.
  • Check if you're connected to a server by looking at the lower-right circle icon (Green=Connected / Red=Not)
  • Is this the first time you've installed/opened Electrum on that PC?
If yes, you need to at least wait for a couple of minutes (depending on your internet speed) to download the "block_headers" file before it can display the full history.
4930  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Bitlum.io Made LN Easy -Nodeless- No Channel Deposit and Fair Exchange & Wallet on: May 01, 2019, 11:41:29 AM
2 hours with 6 confirmation? Or 2 hours with 1 confirmation?
Sounds like they use a relatively low to medium fees to transfer your balance. That is not wrong at all, but you might find some trouble if the network suddenly got congested. Can you do an RBF with this wallet?
i don't look at how much confirmation and how it work about fee anything,
You said "Bitlum to Electrum" so it must be 0 confirmation (unconfirmed) since Electrum will instantly recognize the tx as long as the connected server received the txid on its mempool.
And a gap of 2 hours to broadcast the tx is too long since this should be instant if you have full control of the (bitlum) wallet.

So, is it an exchange-like service which implements "transaction batching" to withdrawals;
Does the txid of those two transactions involves multiple outputs or just yours alone?

If it indeed works like that, I don't see any relevance on using LN for those purposes. But it could work as a "reloadable micro-wallet" for small transactions utilizing lightning channels.
4931  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Adult site CamSoda Accepts Crypto-Currency on: May 01, 2019, 05:47:29 AM
who the fuck pays for porn? like seriously
I was going to ask the same question and I doubt anyone will say that pay to watch pornography
New to porn? Tell you what:
The best porn videos out there are only available for members with subscription since most of them were produced by high-budget studios/producers.
Also, most free videos are either stolen contents by uploaders or "short previews" of a full video.

Short previews commonly consists of bundled 10-20 seconds scenes of the whole video, you will not enjoy it as "porn is all about the plot"  Smiley

Also, they picked Verge instead of BTC. Of course it's a slower adoption. I don't use Verge, don't know anyone else that does!
But their website has this:
Bitcoin BTC, Ethereum [ETH], Litecoin [LTC] and Monero [XMR] accepted for payments by adult site CamSoda.
-snip-
He's talking about PornHub's accepted cryptocurrencies as a response to jak3's comparison to PornHub.
4932  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 3.3.4 wrong version? on: May 01, 2019, 05:15:28 AM
Yes I confirm that I download this link https://electrum.org/#download
I'm a bit worried because detected antivirus.
If you're too worried about that detection, do not.

First of all, "Python/Coinminer.B" is generally a malware that remotely mine using your resources, not a tool to get sensitive information.
Secondly, Electrum doesn't have that PUA, it just a "similar" signature that your AV have detected from the executable.
AKA, false positive.

If you want to see more detection inconsistencies, go to Virustotal and upload that file and you'll see various Antivirus heuristics (Mostly non-famous AVs) detection to the file and it differs from "Malicious", "TrojanHorse" and "CoinMiner".
Famous Antivirus however, resulted with negative results.
4933  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [Unofficial] Coinpot.co - new microwallet on: May 01, 2019, 05:05:21 AM
I suggest switiching to the Brave browser. It blocks all ads on the moon faucets and you can claim without all the popup/redirect bulls*ht. Makes claiming a whole lot faster.
The only problem with doing this is that eventually the site will no longer be able to support itself financially and close.
Well, if they keep on doing that "redirect after click" leading to 2X advertisement impressions, they should close that faucet.
It's annoying and unintentionally fraudulent for both clients and advertisers (two ad views/set per claim and especially, forced ad clicks).

Users doesn't have a choice but to find a way to bypass it.
4934  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: nodl + eps + electrum [Server returned unexpected transaction ID] on: May 01, 2019, 02:38:28 AM
I run windows 10, at first i couldn't connect it, then i add the parameters on electrum shortcut " --oneserver --server [my nodl ip]:50002:s" and it worked, i could see my history wallet, then when i tried to send bitcoin i got this error:
-snip-
Have you confirmed that it was connected to your server?
If not, click the connection icon (Green Circle) and you'll see the actual server where you've connected.
If it's not your IP or server name, there's a problem with the instructions that you've followed.

I have read the "The Box" from your nodl link and it seems like a pre-configured hardware that can run a full node and other related software.
4935  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Your rigs need your help on: April 30, 2019, 11:22:07 AM
Grabbing such an old thread  Shocked
Right, ever since these "Veil-signatured" guys (not all of them) came here, Mining (Altcoin) board become a total mess (There's something fishy going around).
It's as problematic as YoBit's recruited bounty hunters.

I got no problem with Signature Campaigns as I am wearing one too, but the spamming to boost the post count is a different scenario.
I have asked a mod to lock this thread.
4936  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Future of Trading, losers and winners. on: April 30, 2019, 03:36:08 AM
-snip-
If we will consider those newbies (in this "what if" scenario) that will enter on trading, then they will become the losers and winners are those people already well-knowledge on trading.
Yes, but realistically, that's what happening.
The ones in the losing sides are either the newbies or those who are "cashing-in or cashing-out" regardless of the price, mostly deposited from external sources like mining and services.
I've seen many specially in our local exchange when people usually sell their cryptos (at loss) even if there will be an expected rise or the price is currently at the bottom.

In this "What if" scenario, most traders will be the winner, the late ones may not;
as long as there are people who's at the other side of the market who aren't traders but casual buyers/sellers that fuels the supply.
4937  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Future of Trading, losers and winners. on: April 30, 2019, 02:32:38 AM
Everyone's discarding the fact that this is a "What if" scenario and answering "it can't beRoll Eyes

@GreatArkansas You have a baseball cap and you must be a WO veteran or at least a regular, I thought you should be well-informed.
Here's the answer: it will be a race, the slowest will lose or at least won't benefit from it as there will be NO buying order for the losing side (you said everyone is an expert).
Who will buy if it is obvious to them that it will drop even more for the next month or so.

Wait, they picked Verge as the sole payment option for crypto and they dubbed it "We're Accepting Crypto"?
Who the hell uses verge other than for day trading, <1% of the crypto community  Lips sealed
They should make it Bitcoins (also ETH) and it will grow beyond 50%, if not, about a quarter percentage.

I think the reason why they only get 1% of crypto payment it's because most of their videos are free and they don't need to pay for the subscription because they can also find the video to other free sources.
Linking the free videos to the percentage wasn't correct, it never contribute to their total sales thus, will not affect the percentage of crypto earnings.
4939  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Server ID Fault on: April 29, 2019, 05:57:54 AM
So I got it working, I did not realise that selecting the host in the server tab was not selecting that server. I actually had to write the server address.

I used e.keff.org and sent Tx straight away. :-)
"Selecting" like click to highlight? Yes it won't be selected that way.
Aside from manually writing the server address/IP, you can also right-click and select "use as server".

You can lock this topic now if you don't have any other concerns.
4940  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Server ID Fault on: April 29, 2019, 05:02:55 AM
Since you've received that message, you must be using a "safe" version (v3.3.3 or the latest) and connected to a malicious server.

Just like the message said, connect to a different server and try again.
I'm not experiencing the issue since I'm sticking to one server.
