4921  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much Bitcoin price Expected end of this year on: January 29, 2019, 02:20:27 PM
I can't see any increase in the number of transactions or in the value of the transactions that happen in the bitcoin chain. My initial thoughts were that we are going to recover in Q1 2019. Now I think that we are going to fall a little more from $3300. I believe that the price in the end of this year will be around $4000, a stagnant year, and maybe we are going to see a rise again in 2020.
4922  Economy / Economics / Re: Will people ditch cash for cryptocurrency? Japan is about to find out on: January 29, 2019, 02:16:48 PM
It is good to see countries like Japan trying to find new ways of promoting innovative and technological advances. After all, Japan has shown over time that it is always one step ahead in terms of innovation. Olympics will be a good event to promote cryptocurrency and mass adoption. However, I have seen many many years ago that Mitsubishi tried to develop a blockchain. How come they still haven't developed one?
4923  Economy / Economics / Re: Game Theory Assistance / Brainstorming session / Human Powered Proof of Work on: January 29, 2019, 08:56:32 AM
This sounds like Tinder in the blockchain. Grin

So, by Human Proof of Work means that if you have a lot of matches due to your horoscope/numerology etc you are going to get more tokens? Is this the concept of Human Proof of Work you are referring? Mining with your "characteristics"?

I can't see how this is going to work because you have an entry-fee meaning that the network is going to be small. You need many people to join your platform in order to make them start matching and show that it actually works.
4924  Economy / Economics / Re: Spending bitcoins on a car. Car depreciate while Bitcoin appreciates. on: January 29, 2019, 08:48:32 AM
U go to buy a car with bitcoins but to find out ur car depreciate in 3 years. While holding onto bitcoins the value of ur bitcoins appreciate. Just a speculation. Taking risk at an extreme. Trading ur bitcoins for a car. Hah . But Bitcoin doesn't always sky rocket in value every 3 years. Or does it.

You have a point right here, but you should remember that human lives depreciate as well. We cannot hodl our crypto for a finite period of time. We have somehow to invest and create some value for our lives that will make it a better environment and easier our daily activities.
4925  Economy / Economics / Re: Will people come back to gold on: January 29, 2019, 08:44:26 AM
Well it looks like the return of gold is Herr again because the whole economy is facing lots of challenges and at that it was recorded that the America stock also suffered a great lose in recent time and at that what we are facing presently in the price of all commodities in the exchange market is also general and it sims gold is the only commodity with a stable price.
People always idolize gold as an investment and appearance, because the price increases are stable and certain.
Other investments such as cryptocurrency always experience price fluctuations which are very risky to experience losses, unlike gold. Gold investment is safer.

I truly don't believe that buying should be characterized as a sort of investment. I think that people buy gold and got involved in this market in order to store their wealth value. The price of the gold doesn't fluctuate a lot thus buyers are securing their money to this commodity. Something that can hard to happen in other commodities such as oil for example.
4926  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who are the biggest celebrity gamblers? on: January 28, 2019, 03:36:14 PM
I know that Charlie Sheen is a big gambler. I am not sure if he is the biggest but I think that he is on the list with the biggest of them.
He is well known for his love for activities that adrenaline reaches its max.
4927  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin can less the unemployment rate? on: January 28, 2019, 11:12:16 AM
I think that's true, because with bitcoin it can be an opportunity to make a profit, and for those who are unemployed it will be like having a job and those who have formal jobs will get extra income.

But in what way? You don't mention. Bitcoin itself can destroy lives as well due to its fluctuations.
It should be a way of finding jobs related to the blockchain technology. All the cryptocurrencies offer this chance to people around the world and not only Bitcoin.
4928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 28, 2019, 10:59:05 AM
I cant remember any match by Juventus in the last years that was as bad as the one last night. They were not capable of getting 2-3 passes together. Just like I predicted, Dybala had to drop back to midfield in order to pick the ball up and try to carry the team but he was below his standards as well. I read a stat that this was the first Juventus match since the 04/05 season where they didn't even try an attempt on goal in the 1st period!

Well, they may be in a bad form during the last match. They haven't shown any other similar bad game as far as I remember. The current performance of the squad will be tested in the Champions League matches against Atletico. I think that Juve is so better than any other Serie A team and they don't put so much effort. I expect them to see a different Juve that will be more professional in the CL games.
4929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How gambling sites can cheat you on: January 28, 2019, 10:50:22 AM
Thing you need to know about probably fair websites

1> you control your part of secret
2> website has its know secure text, you get hash for it, so it ensure that there can not be any alteration to the server secret

so a bet roll is generated using 1 & 2, which ensures there is no cheat.

Now consider this

1> your account is hosted on there website, all it takes is 1 command to database to delete your whole account and you will not prove anything.

suppose a user deposited 10 BTC, the website can simply delete his account and claim its never been created, so what use are your secrets hash.

2> or they can alter your password and claim its been hacked and its your responsibility

[ remember : password is saved as hash in the database, so they cannot know your password but they can definitely change it , and claim its been hacked]

FOR NOW THE ONLY SOLUTION SEEMS TO ME IS TO USE , A SMART ETHEREUM CONTACT OR USE BITCOIN ON-CHAIN BETTING.

I am not an expert at cryptography, but I think that passwords are hard to be hacked. As you said it is saved as a hash thus it is hard for them to break it. If you have used a simple password then it is your fault. I agree that on-chain betting is the best and the better is to be able to play by opening an extension in your browser (e.g. Metamask) and be able to gamble directly from it, without any username or password.
4930  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling with normal games on: January 28, 2019, 10:31:31 AM
There are a lot of chances that people can gamble, like when you try a drinking game, where you watch a movie, and you are going to drink when that character do a specific thing or something like that. I have done that, and it's entertaining but it's not that common to do anymore

I have a lot of multiplayer games in my PS4, like Tekken, UFC, Injustice, etc. My friends and I don't go to competitions, but we make our own, we start betting stuff or sometimes just money with whoever who wins the bracket.

Has anyone made a simple competition with friends and won a lot of money? Or something out of the ordinary, instead of playing in the casino but still having the chance to earn money. Share your thoughts.

In the old times, me and my friends were gathering in a house and we were making a Pro Evolution Soccer tournament. We had an entry fee of $5 for each player and then we distributed it to the first 3 winners. It was very nice and apart from gambling we have so much fun all together. When you are young and you don't have the chance of entering a casino, you try to find other ways to gamble!
4931  Economy / Gambling / Re: MavenBets doesn't process my withdraw since December, beware!! on: January 28, 2019, 10:22:53 AM
Same here, i never heard this gambling site before.. you should carefully choose gambling site for the next.. from the most of gambling site, there should be have a potential & legit..

Many people fall for the new casinos because they give incentives and maybe free bets in order to attract a bigger crowd. Also, the well-known casinos don't mean that they are reliable because of their popularity. Anyway, I think that this amount is not a big one for the OP and it will not impact his financials.

Try to find some information about the casino you are choosing first...
4932  Economy / Economics / Re: More Countries Continue To Show Support For Blockchain Technology on: January 28, 2019, 10:16:56 AM
New signs of mass adoption started to apper all over the world in the early stage of this year. Seems like in 2019 people realise slowly that bitcoin actually have a future and the developers and blockchain engineers who are talking about it deserves a shot to be listen when they are trying to approch the blockchain and bitcoin subject.

But they are adopting the Blockchain technology and not Bitcoin. I know it is a great marketing strategy but it works.
The real pressure will be pushed when companies will start realizing the real benefits of the blockchain technology. Corporations are a powerful strength that can bring this change in society.
4933  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: January 28, 2019, 10:14:20 AM
I believe we cannot see a real basketball during all star, it's just an exhibition game with lack of defense, I'm sure you will see a lot of dunks and a good display of 3 point shooting from the best shooters beyond the arc.

This is literally NBA!
Dunks and 3 point shooting is what makes NBA exciting. If you want to see defensive games then watch Euroleague. It is full of fouls and strategies that they stop the attacking endeavors of the players before they even start. Of course, the players would be more cautious because no one wants to be injured during a basketball fest.
4934  Economy / Economics / Re: You Can Now Keep Your Bitcoins In A Bank on: January 28, 2019, 10:09:59 AM
For the sake of bitcoin gaining more adoption and for the fact that banks don't want to be left behind in this current wave of bitcoin revolution, I think it is a good thing. However, it will be more appropriate if the bank is merely in for investment rather than making itself a BTC custodian because the later is not needed.

. I think keeping our investment in online wallet will be more safer than putting your investment and your bank are connecting cryptocurrency to a bank will be not a good idea because if your wallet that we are using it will be more safer than a bank we can only access it by using the private keys that's why I am saying this

Additionally, Banks may require a KYC and this is opposite to the decentralized system we want. And we should also not ignore the fact that banks operate only 5 days a week. Cryptocurrency markets are open every day so this would be a regulation and maybe a "violation" to the free/open system that we want to build.
4935  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: January 28, 2019, 10:07:25 AM
In the FA Cup - C Palace 2-0 Spurs
lol in just 3 days, Tottenham have been KO'd from the league cup and the FA Cup...they could've avoided all this mess if they had sign a couple of good bench players, I mean, there's no way Poch and the board didn't know that injuries and no new signings could become a problem in the long run. Those two competition were probably their biggest chance of winning silverware this season...and now it's all gone.

Gotta hand it to Crystal Palace, though, they've been perfoming really well against the big teams this season.

every year at the same time, the same story with Tottenham. They will now neglect Champions league and try to stay in the top four PL to qualify for the next CL season.

This shows that Tottenham is still not a big club that it is able to target in all competitions. The game with Crystal Palace was so disappointing. It was clear to me that Spurs don't have any players on the bench to play in order to rest the main squad. And this penalty... man... How can you do such a penalty when you play at this level and in such a competitive team?
4936  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 28, 2019, 10:04:27 AM

Age isn't everything.

It is very important for games that last so many hours. Hopefully, Tennis is a sport that can be played by people of all ages. Djokovic didn't disappoint us. He played at his best and he deserved the title. Nadal could play much better (he played better in the previous rounds) but his injury shows that he can't endure a whole tournament at his max performance.
4937  Economy / Economics / Re: Why most bitcoin users from good economies countries? on: January 26, 2019, 10:20:58 AM
We can not deny the big country with good economy, it will make the society economy better too.
So they can follow the economic development and participate in transactions and investments in Bitcoin era.
How the people of small countries can participate in participation and benefit from it?
It would be very difficult to calculate the statistics of users of each country, but the comparison of Bitcoin ATM growth from this early 2017 report can be the initial reference of the statistics.
Perhaps by the end of this year, there will be more Bitcoin ATM growth across the board due to the growing interest in bitcoin this year.

People from these countries are more reluctant to risks. They are able to buy some crypto and do not jeopardize their everyday life. It is a cost that they can stand and also I should not forget to mention that developed economies have more options to purchase cryptos. This is because they are markets for many institutions.
4938  Economy / Economics / Re: Will Amazon accept crypto if Bitcoin skyrocket again? on: January 26, 2019, 10:09:27 AM
There are a lot of small shops which accept crypto payments around the world. However, in my opinion, what will really push the cryptocurrencies forward is the adoption of Bitcoin by some big player in the trading industry, such as Amazon.

What do you think, will Amazon start to accept Bitcoin as a payment method if its price rises to new-record values again (like in 2017)? Could it be that they are not adopting it because they treat crypto as a hostile technology for their business? Or they just don't take Bitcoin seriously, like thinking it will despair in the near future?

If Bitcoin will rise in value again, I think that big enterprises like Amazon will start building their own cryptocurrency (it can be used as a loyalty program reward). There is no point of integrating Bitcoin in their systems. The only reason I can think of, is to just make their clients familiar with cryptocurrencies before giving them the option of AmazonCoin.
4939  Economy / Economics / Re: How to grow bitcoin price to $176,190.48? on: January 26, 2019, 10:03:35 AM
How to grow bitcoin price to $176,190.48?

Solution is simple, Putting up bitcoin as flow cash in the economic by rich bitcoin owners
I think a big drawback that stagnates the growth of bitcoin, is major amount of bitcoin are  owned by handful of a  rich person that are waiting some miracle on laws regularization and other handful of people, are waiting for it increase in value without, them having to do anything.

Very very accurate point. I think that this is also the reason why the trading volume of bitcoin is very low (close to stagnant) these days. I think that the majority of bitcoins are accumulated to little actors in the ecosystem, maybe miners, early adopters etc. They just hodling Bitcoins and just waiting for them to increase in value only with Marketing or news.
It is very difficult so this to happen. We need a real usage for cryptocurrencies that will increase the demand for them and eventually their price.
4940  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What currencies do you gamble with? on: January 26, 2019, 09:54:49 AM
My favorite cryptocurrency that I use for my gambling entertainment is TRX. It has a lightning speed of transactions so I don't have any slack time between my bets. I think one more crypto in this philosophy is EOS. I think that it has a high speed of transactions same as TRX, but I have never tried it. It is best if you want to bet on sports live and you want to place your bet fast.
