"every time they switch coins, my miners all seem to swap over to my secondary pool for several minutes"

did you use cgminer <= 3.5.0?
if not, you should redo your tests.

Why is that?

because >3.5.0 has a delay of 5 minutes when a pools fails, thus you loose a lot of mining on hashcows, due to coin switches.
earlier versions have a much shorter delay, so are more suited to multicoin pool mining.

Ah ok. Two questions though:

1) Is there maybe a config switch in >3.5.0 to manually set a shorter delay? If yes, would 1 minute be a safe number to set this to?

2) Are you not sacrificing some other possible benefits when not using the latest GPU-scrypt cgminer (3.7.2)?

Thanks!

1) not that I know of: but you could modify the source; I don't think it's worth because of 2)
2) i heard some people use 3.3.2 o similar because of supposedly better performance; I myself have used 3.7.2 on a conventional pool and seen no difference with earlier versions.

I heard about this recently and decided to give it a try. The profitability charts looked really nice, for example. Anyway, here's my 24-hour review of Hash Cows vs. Litecoin. I'm going to keep it going for another day, but so far things aren't looking all that good compared to other mining options.

The new message reads:
"the 'My Est. Earnings' per round currently only works for coins you exchange for BTC. It will also only start displaying, once we have at least 1 mature coin for that round"
But it still shows 0 btc for most rounds for me, even if there are mature coins.

"Round estimates as well as Est. Unexchanged and Confirmed Exchanged numbers are back and should be fairly accurate."

my "Confirmed Exchanged Balance" is still 0.
so are some of the auto-trade "Round estimates".

Anyone know if there's a way to change how long cgminer waits after a pool is detected as alive again before switching back? I saw it say something about stable for 5 min before it did

I believe you need to use cgminer max version 3.5.0, the following releases all have a much longer wait period.

I have a question for the FAQ (even though this may be the first and only time it's ever asked): Why is the browser tab icon for hashco.ws an uppercase B?

uhm, I'm not sure what you mean Sad

I think he's referring to the favicon.

Site header image (with pool stats) is gone - replaced with "Welcome to Hashcows. MOOOO said the cow."? Is that intentional?

I see that from a mobile browser. Are you on a phone?

Looking like a good day today.

Adding up "My Est. Earnings" column for today is looking very healthy - these long runs on worldcoin look to be very profitable.

Not counting anything until tonight's payout as we all remember tagcoins.

yes very good!
I know I shouldn't complain about daily estimates, but currently just by summing the first ten rounds I already get a higher number than that (and it's going down).

Still no sync on the Android wallet.
I'm a programmer and I'd be glad to help debugging, but please help me use my DGCs.

it synced for me 4 hours ago, but now doesn't sync again; tried both wifi and cellular network.

Android wallet stuck again :-/
I believe multiple peers are needed.

No connected peers. Need a logcat?

The Android wallet is not working again. In case of such failures, is there a way to use the same addresses on the pc or something?

Wallet (android) and cryptopool work again :-)

Hey what's happening with dgc? Wallet doesn't sync, no trades on cryptsy and dgc cryptopools is down :O

I wasn't referred to cryptsy by anyone so I just wanted to add your referral code to my cryptsy account to do you a favor. It gives you the chance to put it in retrospectively. It didn't work however and tells me it's invalid. Will ask about that in the cryptsy thread. As soon as I get an answer, I will try to add you again.

If anyone wants to do the same for me, here goes my key.

https://www.cryptsy.com/users/register?refid=8805

Good luck!

I tried yours and it says it's invalid too. It must be a work in progress, I guess. Or, the key must be grabbed somewhere.
BTW here is mine: https://www.cryptsy.com/users/register?refid=18195

I read it with a bit more attention and I now believe they refer to the trade key in your settings page, because they ask for the "Referrer Trade Key".
If anyone wants to try, just send yours to me by PM ("Trade keys are receive only addresses and thus you may give this key to anyone you wish.").

I was able to solve the problem by updating the kernel (not only the driver/module).
Of course I had to reinstall fglrx after installing the new kernel.
I believe linux version 3.7 is highly suggested over the previous ones.

Hello,

First post here! I've got a question of which I couldn't find the answer anywere.
I'm on ubuntu with beta catalyst drivers on a 7790.
Even though I:

export GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100

I can't get past:

--thread-concurrency 7488

(because of buffer available size) while everybody can easily reach 8000 and even 8192.

Any clue?

Thanks!
