4941  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you were in charge of Bitcoin 2.0 what would you change? on: December 15, 2018, 06:52:44 AM
You don't necessarily have to sacrifice something (If done right). If we take increasing blocksize vs SegWit.

SegWit have no downsides while increasing the blocksize could give us centralization to a certain degree as the blockchain size increases over the years.

We're far from having Bitcoin 2.0 but BIPs are definitely being put on the table and constantly being worked on so with time, the limitations will you're talking about will start to fade.
4942  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Hitbtc USDT (Tether) Withdrawal Problem on: December 15, 2018, 05:35:51 AM
Is there any update about this issue? i saw that last successful withdraw was on 13th December so i guess that you already withdrew your usdt?

The page posted by OP which I believe has real-time updates still shows that withdrawals are not working so I doubt It's solved yet.

TryNinja already gave an explanation, but If you need more details, see mine here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178608.msg41449743#msg41449743

Visit the services section on the forums. I doubt you'll find many developers though. Alternatively, you could go with known platforms like Freelancer and Upwork.
4946  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scaling of bitcoin. on: December 14, 2018, 07:14:24 AM
If people had the least doubt that scaling is impossible, everyone would've switched to something else. Aside from the lightning network: https://medium.com/@ianedws/roadmap-to-bitcoin-developments-f7af59b6d122
4947  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [H] 1200$ BTC [N] PayPal on: December 13, 2018, 06:24:19 PM
I still need about another 500$ or so. I'll be off for the night and be available to trade in 12 hours or so.

Leave your offers here or through private message.
4948  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Wallet for Recovery Seed Use on: December 12, 2018, 03:54:04 PM
Thanks for the links. Yes I also used the Github link you provided at the time (offline) to verify the seed phrase just to ensure all was correct and not relying solely on bitaddress.org - but you're saying as I didn't use words that exist in the BIP39 list, I won't be able to restore the wallet anywhere?

I could be wrong but I believe that BIP39 has a number of words: https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0039/english.txt

If you're going to use words that are not inside that list, you won't be able to restore your seed in BIP39 compatible wallets because that's the standard they use.

You will still be able to use the brainwallet link I gave you though and that should work fine regardless of the characters/words used. Just to be sure, it might be better to generate the wallet with the same tool you're planning to use to recover your wallet in the future. (In this case, the link I gave you, and make sure to download the source code and run it locally).
4949  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Wallet for Recovery Seed Use on: December 12, 2018, 02:44:05 PM
If your words do not exist in the BIP39 words list, other software won't be able to recognize it. Brain wallet tends to be insecure. If you think you could memorize 12 words, why simply not make an Electrum wallet and memorize the seed, that could be safer.

Or am I going about this the wrong way and in the event of recovery, simply generate the Private keys using the BIP39 tool and then use the private keys themselves in a wallet to restore?

Again, sorry for the basic question!

That what I would suggest If you still want to go with this. Check this as well.
4950  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Coinomi Desktop on: December 12, 2018, 02:00:51 PM
I signed up for the beta quite a while ago... was on the slack for it... it wasn't particularly good then. The UI was pretty terrible to be honest. But it was effectively a multi-currency desktop wallet.

However, that was months and months ago... and I've not seen/heard anything else regarding the desktop version since I left the slack.

I haven't heard of any Beta. The one you have tested, did it look like anything that they are currently showing on their website?
4951  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Need vendors launching ico on: December 12, 2018, 12:07:55 PM
If you want something professional from running bounties to accepting payments etc. I would suggest going with services like TokenMarket. You must have something solid to show them though. If you don't have the proper plan, and a team behind you, don't bother.
4952  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Reliable tor based escrow services? on: December 12, 2018, 11:45:27 AM
We do have a list of escrows but these are individuals and not services. What's the nature of the transaction though? If whoever you're trading with is insisting on not using anything from the clearnet then It's probably something illegal and the members on the list I gave you will most likely won't like to get involved in such a transaction (same goes with other services unless It's something found in the darknet for this specific purpose).
4953  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Hitbtc USDT (Tether) Withdrawal Problem on: December 11, 2018, 06:52:57 PM
They haven't made any announcements about it except that it's under investigation in the link that you gave but looking at Twitter, they keep listing coins that could be traded with USDT so I'm pretty sure It should be back up soon.
4954  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Best place to buy EU airline tickets? on: December 11, 2018, 01:14:42 PM
CheapAir.com is the most reputable service for buying Flight tickets. It supports multiple airlines as well. You have also BtcTrip but I've seen some bad reviews on Reddit before.
4955  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: how to verify transaction from php script on: December 11, 2018, 11:46:41 AM
It's unclear what you're trying to do but you could start from here: https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/44373/how-would-one-monitor-an-address-for-a-transaction-and-1-confirmation-in-php

If your goal is to build a blockexplorer, then using third party APIs wouldn't make sense in that case. Try to look for open source projects (Insight, Blockcypther etc.)
4956  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Properties on Adriatic coast ! do you guys think i should invest my BTC in it ! on: December 11, 2018, 08:49:13 AM
No SSL encryption, the website looks bad and can't find anything about it. They clearly didn't put any effort. I wouldn't suggest putting your money there, you'll never see it again.
4957  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Coinomi Desktop on: December 11, 2018, 08:21:02 AM
I'm not suggesting anyone use it as It's not open source but I would like to give a shot. Does anyone know when it's going to be released?

The website says 2018 Q4 but the year is soon coming to an end and they've still made no announcements about it.

4959  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Listing in Exchange HELP on: December 10, 2018, 06:08:09 PM
Your best option would be to go with decentralized exchanges. They tend to be less strict while listing and free. However, you must definitely meet some criteria like a strong community, good code etc. before being accepted.
4960  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: List of easy ways to buy Bitcoin in USA on: December 10, 2018, 05:52:32 PM
If you want to avoid any kind of verification and limits, the best way would be to trade with individuals. The forums or Paxful.com are the best options. If you want to use exchanges, there here is a big list to choose from.
