Report: Nixon Did Not Give White House ‘Heads Up’ He Was Calling In National GuardFERGUSON, Mo. (CBS St. Louis/AP) — Missouri’s governor on Monday ordered the National Guard to a St. Louis suburb convulsed by protests over the fatal shooting of an unarmed black teen, and he reportedly did so without first telling the White House.
Gov. Jay Nixon said the National Guard would help “in restoring peace and order” to Ferguson, where protests over the killing of 18-year-old Michael Brown by a white police officer entered their second week. Police said they acted Sunday night in response to gunfire, looting, vandalism and protesters who hurled Molotov cocktails. DOJ, COMMUNISTS, NEW BLACK PANTHERS HIJACK FERGUSON PROTESTS Leader of militant group pictured coordinating with policeA combination of the Department of Justice, Communist agitators and members of the radical New Black Panther party have descended on Ferguson, Missouri to hijack what were largely peaceful protests that have turned increasingly violent in recent days. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwJrG2AMghw![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fi60.tinypic.com%2F2rzzxad.jpg&t=663&c=GOZAmB2e4Bkoyw) ... Even more intriguing is the involvement of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division, which has inserted itself into the investigation of Brown’s death at the behest of Attorney General Eric Holder.
The Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division has proven sympathetic to the New Black Panthers in the past. In 2010, a whistleblower who worked with the Civil Rights Division blasted the DOJ for dismissing its case against the New Black Panther Party after members of the group intimidated voters outside a Philadelphia polling location during the 2008 presidential election.
The New Black Panther party is not a successor to the original Black Panther Party. Members of the original organization have repeatedly distanced themselves from the new group and have insisted it is “illegitimate.”
New Black Panther radicals have been joined in Missouri by Revolution Club Chicago, a Communist group that calls for a global revolution in order to bring down capitalism. Respondents to the group’s Facebook page aren’t buying the rhetoric, accusing the organization of being, “Communist agitators seeking to incite a race war in Ferguson.” ... IT'S TIME TO START PREPARING YOURSELF FOR PRESIDENT RAND PAULFor the past two years, from the moment Ron Paul called off the Revolution and headed back to Texas, the political establishment has been eagerly waiting for his son, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, to run for president. They’ve watched with amusement as Paul popped up around the country—in Iowa and New Hampshire, at evangelical powwows, Howard University, the ACLU—and at the top of early 2016 polls. Unlike his father, it’s hard to deny that he Paul is a “serious” candidate. But the idea that he could actually be elected President of the United States? That’s never been taken very seriously.
But with half of the GOP’s 2016 bench trying to avoid prison time and Democrats spinning their wheels in Obama’s second-term rut, the idea of a President Rand Paul is starting to sound less and less crazy. On issues like criminal justice reform, mass surveillance, and drug policy Paul is casting himself as Another Option, carving out new space as the candidate who can make room for both small-government libertarians and other voters—young people and minorities mostly—who don’t see either party as particularly effective or relevant. And some of what he’s saying makes a lot of sense.
Take Paul’s comments about the events in Ferguson, Missouri. In an op-ed published by TIME Thursday, the Kentucky Senator laid out a remarkably blunt, even angry, assessment of the racial tensions at the center of this week’s riots, linking policing issues to his broader critique of the federal government.

Let's face it, you can't trust the USA to do the right thing for the right reasons. Furthermore, whenever blocks of people aren't armed, they're susceptible to being taken over by retarded neighbors. Take your pick.

Which kind of democratic system do you prefer, People's Democratic Dictatorship or Liberal Democracy?
It would be nice if our original constitutionally limited republic drafted by the framers didn't get perverted into a democracy which was then played into an oligarchy but at this point, I'd take the no confidence preference allotted by a parliamentary system. That said, we still have widespread gun ownership under the current system. If a benevolent monarchy was possible, I'd go with that also. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Ultimately, I'd prefer a totally free society/world w/o governments. We're miles off I know.

Not to nitpick and while I'd probably agree that watching every video of this guy is worthwhile, some simply don't have the time to yet still care immensely to hear what he has to say. Henceforth, it would be nice to get a cliff's note version or a short recap to any video posted so people can stay up to date. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Pretty much any non ex-convict can buy and own a firearm or as many as you want and all the ammunition you can afford. And the kinds of firearms range from old school flintlocks to modern semi-automatic weapons. I used to be what one would call a 'gun polisher' which means someone who lives and breathes the 2nd Amendment. I still hold it in high regard but I'm just not into guns like I used to be. For instance, I envisioned myself w/ all the top of the line pistols and assault weapons but in reality, I'm cool w/ a few pistols and a shotgun for home defense and that's it. We live off the beaten path and most of my neighbors have plenty of guns so our block is pretty secure.

Rand Paul’s race moment
By BURGESS EVERETT |
Sen. Rand Paul is staking out new ground: He’s the Republican who can talk race and police brutality.
In an op-ed for Time magazine Thursday on the events in Ferguson, Missouri, Paul (R-Ky.) took on race, militarized police and why “it is impossible for African-Americans not to feel like their government is particularly targeting them.”
The potential 2016 presidential contender is fond of telling the GOP that it needs to appeal beyond its mostly white base if it wants to be competitive in national races — pushing for sentencing reforms and speaking to traditionally black audiences. But his efforts to make inroads with new GOP constituencies haven’t always gone smoothly.
The tension in the St. Louis suburbs, however, could mark a turning point for Paul.
The senator’s lengthy, provocative and personal op-ed went further than any other Republican in acknowledging pervasive racial divisions in the U.S.
“Anyone who thinks that race does not still, even if inadvertently, skew the application of criminal justice in this country is just not paying close enough attention,” he wrote.
Republicans have a long way to go toward building support among African-Americans and other minorities. But politicians from both parties often struggle to talk about race — and Paul is winning applause from unlikely places for his willingness to confront the issue.

I'm not sure what kind of appeal this game will draw but normal gamers tend to be younger dudes that have libertarian leanings, some of whom smoke cannabis. If endearing them to police is part of it I'm not so sure of success. If, keeping some of these young people from embracing the likes of Rand Paul as a potential Presidential candidate as he'd be the default option for most of the labeling of the alleged bad people. Or perhaps it's a cult game for the mentally challenged loony lefties trying to stoke some flames for the midterms. It'll probably flop.

With all the arms smuggling behind the scenes and the colossal failures in American middle east foreign policy has created and radicalized quite a formidable force and set them loose going after defenseless people creating a never before felt humanitarian feeling in many Americans that perhaps are willing to til the soil over there for another tens years and beyond. If times were good, this would be a no brainer and already in full gear.

More fud from that troll site. Price drop probably has nothing to do with the headline. Can we not post links to it here as you're just promoting it.
Agreed, the truly garbage links should just be posted as text w/o the hyperlink insert.

Hmm, though this may be true it's dissapointing to see Gavin associating bitcoin with the word ponzi. That's something we really need to get away from.
Gotta call a spade a spade. Many of these guys just keep selling shares for hashing and may or may not upgrade their hashing. I've heard how the PR goes for these outfits in that they gear it towards the newer people entering the ecosystem that are pretty green in terms of the broad understanding of what's going on. It all sounds easy because you just send a wallet address along w/ your fiat payment to the company and you start collecting dust daily or weekly instead of having to link up a checking account or making wire transfers to some exchange that they know nothing about. The payments obviously keep getting smaller over time but unless there's upgrades, the show is coming to an end. One of the main things here is that users don't really know how mining works and then w/o upgrades, the coffin is sealed.

Maybe they'll get on top of this to be ready for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday's buying season. It could create the perfect storm where the price is trending again and the masses are hearing about it while having way more opportunities to spend it than the last time they heard about it in good light.

The shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown is an awful tragedy that continues to send shockwaves through the community of Ferguson, Missouri and across the nation.
If I had been told to get out of the street as a teenager, there would have been a distinct possibility that I might have smarted off. But, I wouldn’t have expected to be shot.
The outrage in Ferguson is understandable—though there is never an excuse for rioting or looting. There is a legitimate role for the police to keep the peace, but there should be a difference between a police response and a military response.
The images and scenes we continue to see in Ferguson resemble war more than traditional police action. Much more... http://time.com/3111474/rand-paul-ferguson-police/For the international crowd, the first part of this article is describing the recent police shooting of an unarmed 18yr old black person that was subsequently followed up by looting by out of towners and has been making the press big time.

Is the Senate on a summer break? I haven't been watching the daily news much lately? His father used to do pro bono baby deliveries back before Gov't intervention helped make medical care costs soar to unbelievable heights.
Yes, they are on summer break and he should be in South Carolina today and tomorrow if I heard it right. Then, he's off to Guatemala to perform 3 days worth of eye surgeries Saturday morning. Rand Paul heading to Guatemala to do eye surgeries
WASHINGTON — Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., is just back from barnstorming Iowa, home of the earliest presidential caucus, and he’s heading next to eat barbecue in South Carolina, the first voting state in Dixie and a critical stop for Republicans who aspire to the White House.
In between, though, Paul is going about as far from the beaten political track as possible, the central highlands of Guatemala.
An ophthalmologist with a medical degree from Duke University, Paul is joining a medical mission to do eye surgeries in Guatemala as Congress continues its August break. The trip comes as Paul tries to differentiate himself from other Republican contenders, including efforts at reach out to minority groups and Silicon Valley.
Paul said he “doesn’t know” what the political implications of the trip might be, only that his work as a physician was his first passion and he doesn’t want to stop.
“It’s just something I kind of miss in my life, and I want to be able to give back,” Paul said in an interview.
...
Paul leaves for Guatemala early Saturday morning and will do surgeries in the small city of Salama from Monday through Wednesday.

About 17 members of the press are going to accompany Paul, said Michael Yei, outreach manager for the Moran Eye Center. He said the list includes Fox News Channel host Greta Van Susteren and her crew, the Christian Broadcasting Network, the Washington Post, the National Review and the conservative website Breitbart News. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

One of the main things that Ron Paul got lit up on is this supposed anti-semetic label that was bestowed upon him by right wing media for one. Rand is trying to avoid that term by being extra sensitive in how his positioning is being construed. The true neocons that masquerade as Israeli savers know deep down that Rand is opposed to their game of constant war as the solution to every problem. And, Rand is doing his best to trend his non-intervention message w/o allowing their buddies in the media to demagogue his position and fool the conservative base. I wish other ancaps would show more respect despite most of us having a no-nonsense way of doing things. At this point, the only way we're going to see a more free country at some time is for a libertarian republican like Rand to do what he does to have a chance at making it happen. Then, we can have the libertarian/ancap dinner club sessions of debating the more frivolous matters of downsizing the state to nothing. It's a long way off and an economic crash won't make it happen as a regional currency or global fiat one will come along. Tho, it would drive more people into BTC making all of us happy.

Don’t think that Rubin isn’t a bit worried about what is going to happen come September, so he’s continuing to work on almost every aspect of the Bitcoin Project day and night. “I’m implementing a system that is going to be responsible for distributing a million dollars of Bitcoin, so I need to be comfortable with what I built,” he said. No kidding, that's quite a project to be the chief of. It does seem like carryout and delivery food services is where the bulk of the spending might go. Heck, if they can coordinate w/ local franchises to offer discounts, people will likely keep changing their fiat for coinage on a regular basis.
