A late good morning Bitcoinland. Slept in.

I see we had a small correction back to $430 after yesterday's slight dip. Hopefully this will put to rest any thoughts of falling below $400.

Still a long way to go before we're back to where we were before the Boxing Day panic/beartrap, but it's a start. Glad I could afford to buy a couple more coins cheap.

January 4th we'll start moving up again. You will all see.

Chinese return to buying spree after new years holidays?

February 8?

I believe they celebrate regular new years for a few days then the chinese new year is in February.

I'll take your word for that. I've never been to China.

All I know is that it's February when the little red envelopes fly around Toronto.

Good morning Bitcoinland. Still in the $420s I see, despite the feeble attempt to crash it down around 9:00 UTC.

If the great Boxing Day panic didn't take it below $400 we're probably fairly safe in saying it will hold from here on. It's been over $400 for 3 weeks now.

Sideways for a few days before continuing up?

^^No prob, buddy. Did Cavirtex sort out its banking difficulties, or did you use an ATM?

After being Goxed for 50 coins I prefer to avoid exchanges and keep all my coins offline.

The anonymity is just a bonus.

LOL...

It was hilarious....

The denial coming from DumboToronto when as it became patently obvious that Gox was going down the shitter.

It was not so obvious.... and it is not really funny to suggest so, after the fact.

It was obvious enough to me that I was trying to get my 50 BTC out of Gox in August 2013, almost half a year before they went down.

Of course I opened a ticket but they stopped answering my emails in September.

Thanks for quoting MatTheTwat. I never would have seen his bullshit post otherwise. He and the original NLC are the only people I ever put on ignore.

So where do you buy? ATMs?

Sometimes at ATMs and sometimes straight from individuals.

The 4% ATM fee may seem steep but there are no additional hidden costs like exchange and banking fees and the ability to react quickly to price dips actually makes it a bargain.

Is coinbase or circle available to you?

I don't use 'em. As I said, I prefer to keep my money offline. Once burned, twice shy.

This could be the beartrap of the millenium.

Don't you just love shearing bears?

Bought a couple of coins for about $412 and I've still got enough fiat left to buy a GTX970 with 4GB.

Thanx for the cheap coins bears.
4970  Other / Archival / Re: Should we sell btc? on: December 26, 2015, 05:33:25 PM
Sure. Go ahead and sell when the price is down. Then you can buy after it goes back up.  Roll Eyes
_________

Oh damn. I'd better get out there quick and buy some more. It's already back up over $410. I'd better put my coffee in a takeout cup and get going.

Good morning Bitcoinland. Looks like we have a Boxing Day sale on bitcoins.

Missed the last buyable dip down to $424 from $470 because it happened at night and it was back up to $440 by morning.

I'd better pound back my coffee and rush out to stock up before the price shoots back up. I was planning on getting myself a new videocard (GTX980/6GB) as a Boxing Day present but that can wait. For not much more I can get a couple more coins.

Now to figure out just how many I can afford to buy at these low prices.

4975  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 23, 2015, 05:04:16 PM
Good morning Bitcoinland.

Still going east at $440. Calm before the storm?
4976  Economy / Speculation / Re: BUY or SELL bitcoins ? What you prefer ? on: December 21, 2015, 07:27:59 PM
Buy or sell? I'd rather hold and spend.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Holy volatility Batman. Seems the buying opportunity for which I'd hoped has vanished overnight.

The dip below $425 was buyable, $440 less so. Oh well, maybe next time.
