One thing is for sure after this World Cup I know that the USA and the NBA will change their views on not sending their stars anymore, they assumed that if they send a few quality players and some benchwarmers is enough to play competitively in the world scene but even that is not enough for them to defeat Serbia in the fourth place.
I don't think the NBA has something to do with the players decision on pulling out of the national roster, it's players personal decision and purely business decision for them, i think they lack the patriotism or the US just have so many players to choose from that the superstars are not oblige to join the national team. Spain, Serbia and the rest of the teams that competed in the recent FWC was deprived of the opportunity of playing with the best because US is not sending it's best team yet. Maybe it's a different story on the Olympics as NBA superstars are contemplating on joining the national team after it's dismal showing in the FWC. |

The supposedly easy fight for Tyson prove to be wrong. He was badly hurt in the 12 rounds, had a nasty cut early and then the style, (orthodox vs southpaw) clash of heads. But both are really tired at the last round specially Wallins.
Champions should not underestimate their opponents thus not training well prior to the fight. We have seen too many of this happened already and they should learned from it and take the fight seriously and think that there is no such thing as an easy fight, but we have also to credit Wallins as his performance exceeded everyone's expectation though. Finals match was kind of boring to watch. I was expecting it to be intense like the Australia vs. Spain or close to that level. Kudos to team Spain for shutting down Scola. No doubt that he was the one that drives the Argentina team and when he was unable to produce, his teammates could not step up.
I stopped watching the game at the third quarter, sensing that Argentina could not win it anymore. That's basketball, our speculations won't happen all the time thus losing on our bets in the process, that's part of life though. Congrats to Spain and those who bet for them. This final today is a rematch of the FIBA 2006 finals where on paper, Argentina has the edge and it's no brainer to think so because Pau Gasol is injured in the semis and can't play in the finals and he is the main man of the Spanish Squad but the result of the game is opposite to what many have expected, Spain dominated and dumped Argentina on that game. Argentina should have remember that moment and make that a motivation on this game today. I am betting for Argentina ( already had) as for me nobody has the edge.
