Yet another power question :

so I took a look at my panel finally and found i have a 125 AMP panel ( what a rip off for a house that is less than 8 years old)

anyways looking at the dryer I saw this kind of outlet which i plan to use for one or two sp30s if possible :

http://www.mscdirect.com/product/details/60526936?src=pla&008=-99&pcrid=15557577904&007=Search&006=15557577904&005=21882504424&004=4409695744&002=2167139&mkwid=sJXegN7a0|dc&cid=PLA-Google-PLA+-+Test_sJXegN7a0_PLA__15557577904_c_S&026=-99&025=c&item=60526936

on the outlet it states its a 30 amp 125/250V
I also have a 50amp outlet upstairs used by the electric range which I already planned to replace with a Gas range during black Friday, I have not checked the outlet for that

what kind of adapter would i need for the above linked outlet to hook it up to some sort of splitter or PDU for at least one sp30?

The 50amp outlet is upstairs so i would probably need to get that rewired to downstairs in any case so that would be a project for later.

thanks

you can stick the item below into your dryer wall outlet.
http://www.amazon.com/Conntek-14330-1-5-Foot-Adapter-Connector/dp/B001TO7130/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1407514332

then, you would need a pdu, which are available used on ebay (AP9571, etc) for another $50.
125A is not much power, though, and you would need to calculate how much is your typical A usage at the peak, add 3kw for each Sp-30 and add 20-30% as a cushion.
Thanks for the input that cable looks good enough, I would probably need one that is 25 feet though to get to my mining room in the basement.

125A is how many available watts by the way ?  My peak usage is pretty high but I will turn off my gpus as I turn on the SP30s and they currently pull a total of 4000Watts.

also with the dryer not running while the SP30s run now that would limit my usage a bit there.

-Also Could I run two SP30s on that AP9571 ? and would i get the full power out of the SP30 (4.5TH) with that PDU  even though its a 125/250V outlet from the dryer ?

Thanks in advance.

thanks for the dumps I already have 4500 from mining and just bough 3500 more at low prices , i think i'll keep buying more until I own around 50k
if prices are so low.

Windows wallet seems really buggy it locks up every time I open it up and even click on a button like to get my address

strange after a reboot is started working fine.  what sucks is I had 3-4 solo mined blocked that vanished after the reboot and I had backed up my wallet.dat

Well I wanted to jump in on this coin, but I seem to see a problem with the algo that was chosen:

It seems that there could be someone who will hold more than 25% of this coin when the POW phase ends, if they choose to.

Good luck everyone.

That's a GPU farm....those 1 million+ kilohashes have just started popping up everywhere this week. Which figures since it started happening literally 3 days after I built my 3 GPU mining rig. Eff my life, am i right?

Unless the chinese have already made X11,X13 and X15 asics rigs which is totally possible.

Yeah ive been seeing those a lot lately and what sucks is all the do is dump

woohoo just mined my first solo block ever with my measly GPUs

I think I have to try solo with my 5850 one day  Grin. Never done this before though

yeah I though it was hard  but its not that hard as long as you get in early diff is low , right now diff is only 59

what hashrate will an AMD R9290 non X expect with your miner ?
4974  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 06, 2014, 08:57:19 PM
@Zvisha

Is there another, more powerfull power supply with the same pin arrangement?

Not that we are aware of. AC2DC is the limiting factor of this machine.

There is this:
http://minersource.net/products/delta-dps2000w-server-power-supply
164A Maximum @ 220v.

The question is whether the pin setup is compatible to the PSUs normally shipped within the sp30.

It would obviously not be feasable to attach an adapter (that doesn´t yet exist) to a PSU (that will then no longer fit into the miner housing)

I read on Dogie's SP30 setup guide that the SP30s come with "either 2x Emerson DS1200 or Murata D1U3CS-1300F-12 server PSUs with 34 pin outputs". I found Murata has a 2200w 1U server PSU with 34 pin connector. Could be compatible? But they are not cheap like the Delta...

I though the ASICS are at near max power using the 3000WAT , would you not risk frying them with far more juice than is optimal ?

Anyone else with a Aug batch order have it showing as "Restocked" now ? previously it was listed as Unfulfilled

My orders only show as 'restocked' because I changed the delivery details to a DC.

I didn't change my delivery details , I don't know if it has to do with that since mine says : 'restocked' as well
4976  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Altcoin tied to an web-mobile dating site ? on: August 06, 2014, 07:33:39 PM

Anyone ever setup  coins set up for anything like this ? I'm currently close to completion of a revamp of a world wild online dating site I'm thinking it would be cool
to have a coin tied to the site i.e with the same name of the site or close enough that can be used to buy membership passes and send gifts and even maybe
real world items to other members such as birthday cards etc or whatever we can come up with.

I would probably do an IPO to help complete the site and pay for the integration with the currency and bitcoinintergratuon as well as an advertising campain/blockexplorer rich list etc .
then the coin would have a normal POW phase to allow for a slow steady increase of the amounts of coins.

So basically a normal alt-coin which in a few weeks would have actual usage on the online dating site and also could be traded for other coins as coin owners want.

either way the site relaunch will go ahead as planned but If any developers/marketers/fiancial gurus are interested they could get a good chunk of the IPO.

I think this could be a good coin which unlike a-lot of the coins out there has an actual product behind it.

Any huge caveats to something like this ?

I was planning on using two separate outlets on different breakers thats not a problem running the numbers honestly running an SP30 at 4.1 TH at 2600WATT actually

running the numbers provides a better hash/Watt number than 4.5 TH at 2900WATT, not sure what all the big deal with maxizing the hash ratio to all ends is.  Hash/Watt

is what matters in the end.

If you already have 2 circuits installed, then just buy the cables with the correct ends, and you should be good to go.  Honestly though, even at 3kW, you're not to go over 12-13A @240v, which is perfectly safe on a 20A circuit.

Find the plug that matches your recepticles:

http://smile.amazon.com/SF-Cable-NEMA-L6-20P-250V/dp/B009ZERV72

http://smile.amazon.com/6-20P-Power-Cord-Adapter-Foot/dp/B00H7JR636/

This one already has 2xC13, so you'd be good to go.
http://smile.amazon.com/L6-30P-C13-Splitter-Power-Cable/dp/B00BGAEBNU/

And of course you can easily get C13-C14 extension cables wherever (online...Don't expect to find them at Ace Hardware).  Though I would be sure to get those cables rated for 250v & at least 15-20A.

As to the W/Hash ratio, that is what matters "in the end" only so much as you are talking end of life of your hardware.  As RoadStress said after the difficulty is >70B.  Until then, maximize your hash rate as much as you safely can.

Thanks a lot for this info and no I don't have the plugs yet I figure I can grab a 30AMP plug from home depot or something. I Initially planned on getting two new 30AMP

circuits installed  for $700  but with with the lesser hash rate than I expected on the SP30 (4.5TH vs close to 6TH) I decided to pass on those until I am able to purchase a

second sp30 or some S3s.   For now  I was planning on stealing from 30A 240V my dryer during uses the week and then on Saturday when the dyer is in use I have a

couple of 20AMP 120V outlets on separate breakers to power the SP30 until Sunday when the 30AMP 240V circuit is available again.

Thanks as well RoadStress for the that info on the diffuclity.  Btw are we projected to reach 70Bill around April of next year ?
4980  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive SpondooliesTech SP30 Setup [HD] on: August 06, 2014, 05:44:03 PM
@marvell1

That is a misconception.

What matters is $/GH and operational costs aka $/GH/m.

Increasing the hashrate lowers $/GH and can lead to a faster ROI, especially if your $/GH/m is low (aka 5ct/kW/h including hosting).

hmm thanks for the information I might have to rethink things then
