4961  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bounty hunters, report spam to receive higher bounties on: February 08, 2021, 08:33:30 AM
Problem here is that majority of altcoin bounty hunters are shitposters themselves and since they don't even bother about quality of their own posts somehow I doubt that they will bother to report other shitposters. It is also questionable whether they can recognize a shitpost when they see it and even if few posts get deleted, bounty hunter will just churn out few more.

I do agree that people should report shitposts more often, but I am not so sure that people you mention care enough in order to do that.

It's quite surprising to me projects choosing the worst bounty managers who aren't aware of their responsibility. We reputed managers not getting many works nowadays.
They don't really know much about the forum and they are just looking for the cheapest option and that included manager who will accept their useless altcoins that one day might have some value and that's something that no reputable manager will accept (I guess).
4962  Economy / Reputation / Re: [LIST] ANN threads that are using bumping services on: February 07, 2021, 09:29:11 PM
Obvious case of thread shilling, both threads have been added to the list. Thanks for reporting!

[ANN] WorldToken — a unique platform that combines the best tokenomics of curren[/b] - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5312779.0
I wonder how they persuade customers to check it and even pay for it, because I don't think so many project owners know that they are ordering "cheating service".
They probably told them that everyone is doing that and that there is nothing wrong with it, and majority of those that hire them have no clue about bitcointalk and that same service is ready to promote an obvious scam. By the way, I've added  both of those threads that you mentioned, but also don't forget to report them spam when you see it.
4963  Other / Meta / Re: Why not create a white list on the forum for receiving PM? on: February 07, 2021, 04:47:02 PM
Do you really receive so many unsolicited PMs that something so drastic is needed? And is that hard to just ignore/delete/report them?

I personally don't like your suggestion at all as I often contact people via PM and some of them don't have me on their trust list (and some don't even bother with that feature) meaning that one important channel of communication would disappear for so many people, especially for genuine users who might need help.
4964  Other / Meta / Re: Request for Nigeria local board on: February 07, 2021, 03:57:32 PM
Considering how popular bitcoin is in Nigeria despite not so friendly government I am glad to see that you decided to ask for your own local board and it's an important first step but I think that you will have to increase your activity in Nigerian Bitcointalk Community Hangout in order to have real chances of getting your own board. Since you have many members that are active in English part of the forum, that shouldn't be an issue, you just have to encourage them to be more active there so you show forum staff that there is a real need for local board and that you "outgrown" the thread started by @CryptopreneurBrainboss.

I wanted to support most active communities without local boards so I included them (starting from October 2020) in monthly overview of the local boards activity so you can see how Nigerian thread stands compared to others.

I don't think there should be strict restrictions on what languages are allowed. Communication is key and if the community understands Common English (UK or US) as well as Pidgin English, then any of them can be used to discuss on a Nigerian board. The Indian local is run primarily using the English language, which is one of their national languages.
As explained to me by one Indian member, reason why Indians use English language in their board is very simple: they have 22 official languages and it would lead to chaos if they start opening sub boards for each of them. Using English is more elegant solution, but that also probably discourages some from being active there.

4965  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Unknown Blockchain.com employee is stealing customers funds on: February 06, 2021, 11:02:36 PM
I did not even want to read the rest of the article, since it is clear from the start that it is not factual, but rather the personal position of the author, which has no foundation in the truth.
Author of that article and the creator of this thread are most likely the same person. He got busted for dodgy behavior so of course he is salty now and ready to spread bs about bitcointalk.

At the same time, he obviously misses the forum so he decided to come back and maybe and give it another shot. It's love & hate relationship; he hates the forum but at the same he would like to profit from it.
4966  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Bitcoin-store.hr zbirni topic on: February 06, 2021, 11:04:55 AM

4967  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I was left behind with btc market. on: February 06, 2021, 09:14:43 AM
I was really left behind after all this pandemic has cause so much in all of us in financial aspects. If I could have some spare money I gonna love to invest in a coin eyeing on the crypto listed on top of btc in coinmarketcap.com. What exchange could it be bought? I need to get an idea about this crypto. I am also planning to buy bitcoin. Good Luck to me!
If you are referring to WallStreetBets (WSB), that's not a real cryptocurrency and it's just CMC take on all that wallstreetbets hype that's happening lately. It is even explained that "Please note that this is a JOKE- NO SUCH ASSET exists. All UR MeMes R belong to us and Charmander-marth!!!!!111. We seek alpha and master beta. If you see similarly-named projects, please perform the requisite due diligence and do not ape into anything associated with this page"

So, in case you see similarly named coin, stay away from it as it is a scam. Just stick to the bitcoin and try to hodl harder this time.
4968  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: February 05, 2021, 09:20:25 PM
Indeed, due to security concerns (among others) following Ledger's hack, an old french Legendary member decided to delete all his posts. It breaks your stats a bit but it shouldn't happen too often (I hope).
Thanks for clearing out the reasons of French board going into negative post difference. Looking at numbers of most active French members, you actually had a good month and would be very high on the chart. These things happen quite often, boards going into negative so this happening is not a big precedent. As a matter of fact, some boards like Chinese are in negative for more than a year now.

Sad to see that activity in Bangladesh local thread has decreased significantly. It's possible that due to the recent scandal on "A guy get caught for using bitcoin" (actually he is involved with hacking activities), activity has been decreased as bitcoin users in our local are in more fear. This is just my speculation.
Hm, can't say I heard about that case, someone in Bangladesh got arrested for using Bitcoin? But yeah, I know that your government is not very friendly towards crypto and that can certainly affect the popularity. Even with this decreased post number you are still among most active threads in other languages/locations section.

The Indonesian local board has experienced a fairly good increase throughout January 2021. This feels good because previously the activities observed there had decreased both in terms of merit and number of post. Thanks @Rikafip, I've updated the thread and hope it will continue in the following months.
Increased number of (quality) posts is the first prerequisite to increase amount of merit and looks like you are working towards that. If you check some of my first overviews I did, Indonesian board was already in decline, but merit shared number stayed quite high, but as number of posts was decreasing, so was merit, which culminated in December. You drop was so significant that even members from other boards noticed that, like @fillippone in one of his earlier posts in this thread. Hopefully January wasn't just an exception and you are getting back on track.

4969  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Unknown Blockchain.com employee is stealing customers funds on: February 05, 2021, 03:12:34 PM

The facts are that it's impossible for anyone to do this theft other than Blockchain.com employee, because no one else can disable notifications about 2FA change.

Some of those trustpilot reviews are almost year ago. We are supposed to believe that blockchain.com employee is stealing funds all this time but somehow they are not removing him and this goes on and on?

I don't say that hacks cant happen, but people tend to blame others for their mistakes, like downloading fake apps on Google Play.

Since you brought up the other article, perhaps you can tell which points exactly are false?
Others already replied to nonsense written there so there is no need for me to waste my time and repeat it all over again, mr @poutintsev.
4970  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: February 05, 2021, 02:44:23 PM
January is behind us, time for another monthly overview of local boards activity.

In order to make these charts, data was taken from @DdmrDdmr Merit Dashboard. This is just a brief overview but if you want to check your local board in more details, I suggest that you check that tool.

Post activity per local board during January 2021

Top of the chart remained pretty much the same like in last few months, with Turkish board once again at the top followed by Russian and German. Due high amount  of deleted posts last month we miss French board on this chart, which is usually among top 4-5 most active boards. It is nice to see once very active boards (Pilipinas and Indonesian) slowly recovering, hopefully this month wasn't an exception and they continue this trend.

Two most active communities without local boards (Pakistan and Bangladesh) had decreased actvitiy which is a not a good thing if they want to get their own local boards. eventually.

Merit shared per local board during January 2021

Compared to previous month, amount of merit shared across local boards remained pretty much the same (5230 merit shared during January, down from 5360). Like in previous chart, names at the top remained the same, but this time Russian is at the top while German dropped to 2nd place due  ~25% decrease of the merit shared.

Two active local boards had big incrase in merit shared; French with 545 merits shared which is 70% increase compared to previous month and Indonesian board with 275% increase, going from only 50 merits shared during December 2020 to 187 last month.

Opposite to that, communities without local board (except Serbian) had merit decrease. Afaik they don't have their own merit sources so it's hard for them to remain at similar merit amounts each month and will fluctuate a lot.

Merit senders/receivers per local board during January 2021

With a few standard exceptions, this chart generally follows the amount of merit shared which makes sense.

Merit/Post ratio per local board for Januray 2020

Like Romanian board last month, this time Dutch board sticks out when it comes to merit/post ratio. Generally, boards with low post count are easily affected and ratio can vary a lot, giving wrong impressions and to somewhat alleviate that, I've decided to keep 12 month ratio metric. As usual, Arabic and Italian board are high on the chart, and same thing can be said about the bottom.

Just a reminder not to take merit.post ratio chart too seriosuly as even 12 month ratio can paint wrong picture due deleted posts, let alone monthly ratio.

The most active members during January 2021 per local board

This list is made thanks to @TryNinja and his https://ninjastic.space/

Even though I planned to make make this list once a-per year, I've decided to keep it and publish it on the monthly basis with rest of the charts. I've excluded dead boards like Korean, Japanese, Hebrew etc as their activity is so low that probably there wouldn't be more than 1-2 names on the list as it's full of nuked spammers.

If you notice nuked user among those names (that can happen in less active boards) please let me know and it will be sorted. I looked for those when making the lists but some might have slipped through.

4971  Economy / Reputation / Re: @ico-services, alt of @poutintsev? on: February 04, 2021, 07:17:27 PM
Assuming they are alt accounts, there's no wrongdoing here unless he's using the alts to cheat in bounties or whatnot.  If he's using his alt account to "reinforce" his opinions in his own threads, that's a fucked up thing to do but I'm not sure what kind of punishment it deserves, if any.
Nah, I am not worried about them abusing bounty campaign or anything of that sorts as @poutintsev was involved in way more serious stuff than that, like account buying and other dodgy ICO promotion tactics. Since his old account is tagged, I think that he reactivated new one.

And as far as whether these two accounts are linked, I'd have to say I wouldn't be confident enough to tag them even if they were abusing bounties based on the evidence presented here.  It certainly is possible they're alt accounts, but I'm not convinced one way or another.
I am 99.99% sure that it's the same person behind both of those accounts but I still wanted to hear opinion of others in case I missed something here, which I actually did.

If you check @ico-services website info (https://archive.fo/Pw5TN) it leads to http://www.immortality.foundation. To quote them "Immortality Foundation plans to bring human immortality to an achievable distance and enable common human to take advantage of the latest scientific and medical breakthroughs to reach one or the other form of true biological immortality." Quite an ambitious goal I must say, but guess who is behind Immortality Foundation? None other than Filip Poutintsev aka @poutintsev. Another coincidence? I think not.

4972  Economy / Reputation / @ico-services, alt of @poutintsev? on: February 04, 2021, 06:18:18 PM
Earlier today ico-services shared an article in which author claims that blockchain employee is changing 2FA and stealing funds etc. What caught my attention is the creator of the article, who recently wrote pretty shitty article about bitcointalk. Dunno why but I decided to check his posting history which made me believe that this is an alt account of poutintsev, author of the article.

First of all, lets start with poutintsev who has an interesting bitcointalk history, to say the least:

Now lets move on why I think that this is his alt account:

1. Majority of his activity is in the threads made by poutintsev, which he usually shills. Even his first post ever was made just after he created account, to defend poutintsev article. Like poutsintsev he also doesn't like merit & trust systems.
Did you even read the article? It says you should not start your own ICO, if you have no money!
I suggest people to read this.

For example Bitcointalk failed at doing their Merit and Trust system fair.

2. Sharing articles written by Poutintsev, both Medium articles and from website

3,. Even @Steamtyme immediately suspected that this is poutintsev alt.
So is this the poutinsev ALT??

And who are you?

Thoughts?
4973  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Unknown Blockchain.com employee is stealing customers funds on: February 04, 2021, 04:46:12 PM
This hack was not done with private keys, but by disabling 2FA.
So says author of that article, Filip Poutintstev. To quote the title "Unknown Blockchain.com employee is stealing customers funds" but he provides zero evidence of that, just assumptions and nothing else. I don't say that whats written in article is impossible to happen, but still it would be good to provide some evidence for those claims otherwise it;s nothing but a clickbait title. Same thing he did in the article  called Reasons to avoid Bitcointalk where he wrote bunch of nonsense and lies.

On the other hand, I am not big fan of blockchain.com wallet and I stopped using it some time ago after having a lot of issue with sending/receiving funds. Last time it happened I had to export private key and move my funds to another wallet.
4974  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: February 04, 2021, 04:34:56 PM
By the way, my post was deleted for a reason that I don't know. I assume it was for not indicating my source. I'll be more careful from now on.  Grin
I am the one who reported your post.Reason? Shitposting! I guess mods agreed on that.

Majority of your posts on gambling board consists of you writing either overviews or previews of games. Who scored how much, who will miss etc, it's like AI is writing those posts, or person who doesn't actually watch those games but has to do signature quota somewhere. It would be like me going to Indian cricket topic and writing previews even though I don't have a single clue about that game.

Find some sport/league you actually enjoy watching and stick to that please, no need to spread that across 10 threads as it adds very little.

Do you have the website where you get the summary of these stats? It will be helpful if you can share the link here. I'm interested in checking each game's stats but can't find it on the web, I only see the whole stats of players for the whole season. I want to check the per game. Thanks!
For game summary I personally prefer ESPN. It is very detailed, and you even have play-by-play option with timestamps where you can check every moment of the game, who did what etc.

Out of curiosity I checked his group and there is already one "signal" just saying "Buy XRP at 0.37520 and sell it at 0.38000." High quality signal and strategy my ass.
4977  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Bitcoin-store.hr zbirni topic on: February 04, 2021, 08:48:45 AM

Jebene regulative...

Utah being on 🔥... Squad's so competitive
They almost managed to blow huge lead but Bogey sorted that out with two consecutive 3s. Important win to get back on track, next few games shouldn't be too hard either.

We should not doubt the Nets now, they beat the Clippers so they are now a legit super team and probably have adjusted already. Great work by the coaching staff as well, we can see the development of the team already and it's very exciting to see them in the playoffs and see what they can do.
Let's not open the champagne bottle just yet, there is a lot of work ahead of them, one win against Clippers doesn't mean that they will cruise through the league for the rest of the season. I do agree that they looked better, with players slowly adjusting to their roles but they should start figuring defense too. Relying to score 120+ every night in order to win might work during regular season but playoffs will be a  different story. Bench remains issue too, last night they scored only 14 pts combined, albeit with very low usage.

In other words you don't have answers to questions asked here so you just decided to ignore them and buy yourself some time.

That's not how legit business would react to these accusations and since it's obvious that you are nothing but a fake seller of mining equipment I tagged you and will support the flag Type 2/3 if @smooki3 decides to raise one. If he doesn't do that, least I can do is raise Flag Type 1.

In the end, even if @smooki3 didn't actually ordered miners from you that doesn't change the fact that you selling things that you don't have and that you simply can't have yet, making you scam website that should be avoided.

This images prove nothing, they have been photoshoped starting with the name, date and order status.
It's true that everything can be faked, including your TrustPilot reviews. Or we are supposed to believe that this is just a coincidence, that same users are giving 5 star reviews to same companies selling mining equipmen? I will just share 3 examples, but there are more of those.

I will kindly ask the moderator to delete this false accusation from the forum if the 'victim' can't prove more proof!
Scams are not moderated here and same goes for scam accusations so don't expect mods to do anything about it.

I start searching for some information about evominers.com and asked the official manufacture Linzhi.io about this website. Unfortunately they answered me that this sale is fake and I can buy Linzhi Phoenix only from them
Looks like what you said about Phoenix miners not being available by no one else other than Linzhi.io is true. I just checked their telegram group and they claimed exactly that

I found another interesting message from one of the Linzhi Telegram admins. So how it's possible that EVO Miners have 90 of those in stock?

As far as I know, 2 test devices are currently circulating around. Because unfortunately they went out to the wrong people. In the best case, these are these devices.
So in general: If someone is selling 1-2 devices 99, x% scam
If > 2 100% scam
