4961  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽⚽⚽ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk World Cup 2022 - discussion ⚽⚽⚽ on: November 17, 2022, 07:50:56 AM
We are actually surprised that the spots filled so quickly. We would have wanted to include more participants, but then it cannot be made in the same format as the World Cup and loses its purpose.
If you had applied on time, based on your forum status you would have had a guaranteed spot.
Thanks for this useful reply and kind words, I look forward to working with you in the future.

I was initially excited to see this competition that is targeted towards the world cup because it's a new challenge for the BTT members, but I don't like his arrangement. I don't think others view it the way I do, it's not a competition that advocates evenness and access for all intending participants at the same time. This could accommodate only 32 participants per round, what about the many more people that are interested from the beginning? I believe they should not be disenfranchised too.
I think there was enough time to join until all spots got filled. If you really wanted to play, there was wt least few days to join. And if you think that there should be more than 32 players accepted, can you offer how to keep format identical to World Cup?
And maybe not greatest example, but you probably don't complain when spots of signature campaign got filled before your application.
What has a signature campaign has to do with a competition for the forum members? I expressed that people should be given a level-playing ground and time and that the competition should be accessible to everyone. Do you think everyone reads everything on the forum at all times? It takes time, so why must they be disenfranchised? Well, one of the organizers has already replied kindly, so no issues.

I would support you, but the reality is that many here talk but then they don't end up competing in the enormous number of pools that we have, and those of us who always play wonder how it is that since there are +1000 users going around this section we are always the same 20 competing.
And no matter how big the prizes are when you ask them for a few cents to enter, they disappear, it seems that they want everything for free.

So once a more closed format has been chosen, I will not tolerate it coming to say such a thing, and as they told you above, if you are so handsome, enter the other one to compete.

And yes, I'm being harsh with words but it's reality.

And this is my opinion, being just a player not an organizer or anything like that.

EDIT: I enter you profile and see you are new, so you can say that, but my words are true

I quite understand your point and on second thought it's a very good reason. I hope for a similar competition in the future.

4962  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too many chickens own BTC. Don't be a chicken, HODL! BE A LION. on: November 17, 2022, 07:31:36 AM
I could see that what the OP wrote is what many people appreciate on BTT, but I don't because it does not express the true spirit of an investor. As the OP has not sold a single Satoshi since 2013, he might have gained solid ground as the low and high of the year are between 13- $1,118. Perhaps, the OP bought it around the low of $13, what do you expect? Should people be as daring as such a favoured buyer? I don't think so.

In every investment, there are times to buy and times to sell, I don't believe in a blind investment. Who knows if the OP has a very good external means of livelihood, I doubt if someone that solely relies on BTC for livelihood would do that.

For example, I HODL, trade and use BTC for payments every time. I earn almost every day with my trading, which is what I believe is more important to maximize the benefits of BTC than HODL alone.
4963  Economy / Speculation / Re: All Assets are seized for FTX... Its over! on: November 16, 2022, 08:17:47 AM
FTX has disappointed everyone and mind you, this is worst than the time of Mt.Gox when crypto was still fighting for more adoptions. I believe they caused the panic and started the distortion thinking that they will get away with it. This is particularly as their headquarters is in Nassau in Bahamas where they believe regulation is much weaker than in the US, EU and others. But the country has proven itself now.

If not for this shady plan, Binance would have bought it and everything would be silenced. But who would buy a problematic asset? All of their plans have backfired. More investigations should shock us more over time.

4965  Economy / Gambling / Re: I am opening a crypto casino / sportsbook what should we add? on: November 16, 2022, 07:29:40 AM
Hi well we are in the process of opening a crypto casino and sportsbook we hope is ready in one month

Some features of our casino / sportsbook:
1) 100% anonymous we are never going to ask you for any personal info or KYC BS it doesn't matter the amount
2) we are also going to have a live casino
3) we are going to accept privacy coins like XMR
4) You can place bets over the phone 24/7
5) Is going to be available worldwide
How could I have not seen this earlier? I am happy that a BTT member is planning to open a crypto casino and sportsbook. I hope you are not joining just for publicity's sake. When this eventually drops, be sure to advertise here as it has helped and still helping a lot of casinos that are not even BTT members.

I only have two suggestions if you could make them happen, and they are stated below:

1. Make automatic withdrawal possible on your casino/sportsbook.
2. If possible, escrow every crypto committed to betting on your site (transparency). I am open to a reason why this can't be done.
4966  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is crypto on the way to destruction? on: November 16, 2022, 06:57:07 AM
What just happened to FTX is not new in the crypto space, only that it happened to one of the major exchanges, nonetheless, crypto will overcome it as it always does. And this often happens in fiat institutions, especially when they are underregulated, which is why it is good to have more regulations in the crypto space. But unfortunately, most people on BTT are kicking against it as if it is totally bad. If FTX is well regulated, things would not be like this, and without regulations, exchanges will always do as they like. They can even steal money from accounts and make it look as though it never existed.

As for the existence of crypto, the FTX issue is too little to cause more panic than it has already done. Crypto should begin to stabilize now.
4967  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: November 16, 2022, 06:31:46 AM

Don't mind them, they thought there is a miracle in football. One thing I have known the EPL for is that they are not patient with their coaches unless they are seriously performing. But the patience of Liverpool with Klopp eventually paid off many years, though I won't be surprised if his days are numbered in Liverpool now if the club continues like this next season. EPL should learn from Man U and Arsenal during the days of the long-term healthy rivalry between Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger.

Arsene Wenger is not the best example, he left Arenal after a long string of failures from which he never helped the club to get out. Klopp is a great coach, he just squeezes everything out of the players so they can only play at this pace for one season, then the recession comes and they try to renew the squad to find new forces. Klopp needs a lot of players to have an equivalent rotation, or unkillable players, but they probably don't exist. )
I challenge you to read what I wrote again, no one is praising Arsene Wenger for his achievements in Arsenal, though he deserves the praise. I was only referring to the long-term rivalry that the stay of him and Sir Alex Ferguson made happen at that time. And if you must know, Arsene Wenger was not a total failure in Arsenal, he won 17 trophies for the club as the manager, which includes 7 FA cups and 3 premier leagues. His last moments were challenging but can't completely erase what he has achieved.
4968  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: waiting to buy lower? on: November 15, 2022, 04:06:33 PM
Wanting to buy lower is a huge difference to buy high and sell low. Since trying to beat the market by buying and selling at the same time is more or less gambling. For me I will buy constantly and not sell for the next few years. Simple as that.
Especially with the current market conditions I think this is a good time to buy,
top coins like Bitcoin, Ethereum and BNB are very worth a long term investment as they are likely to increase in price,
What's clear is that you still do research and analysis first
What I love most in your reply is the advice to research and analyze, most posters would just advice people to buy their coins without due regard for the analysis. That said, this is not the right time to buy, and specifically am against you on this part, Bitcoin and other coins just faced many dumps in recent days, and it would take time for a bullish trend to be activated.

This indicates that everyone should be patient for now, charts and the economic reality of the market don't lie, they would surely point us in the right direction when the time comes.
4969  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Earnings via crypto network, daily - 5$? on: November 15, 2022, 03:49:43 PM
Hello, is there a way for us who are immobile (disabled in legs) to earn 5-10$ a day, with some kind of bitcoin strategy without big investments. If anyone knows, write in the inbox. Thank you for your cooperation, and I wish everyone a lot of success!
Let me quickly reply to you here instead of wasting time inboxing you.

In trading, the higher your money, the more you gain, though the risk is there too, but when you do trading the right way, success would be made. I suggest you learn a swing trading strategy in which you would invest a reasonably low amount and would be using a little risk to trade it. By this, I am sure that you could be making about $5 daily if you do it the right way.

Also, P2P has helped a lot to make money through Bitcoin, if it works well in your country, you should buy and sell the coin at different rates to your advantage. You will surely be making daily income from the Spread (Bid/Ask).
4970  Other / Off-topic / Re: Time management on: November 15, 2022, 03:28:38 PM
I specially thank the OP for these informed and elaborate ways to manage our time. Time is money, everything is not about the physical cash, how we could effectively utilize the time we have is so beneficial. This is priceless if I must say, and we all have to learn from this to be more productive in our day-to-day activities. It is important to refine our scaled schedules on preferences and be proactive with the more choices that will add value to our lives.
4971  Economy / Exchanges / Re: FTX has been hacked, delete the app, don't go to website on: November 15, 2022, 10:55:44 AM
im surprised no ones yet using the name
'scam bankman fraud'
to explain the guy that owned FTX.. seems a obvious moniker for him

its coming to light now that although FTX was well advertised (US football stadiums) shilled youtube influencers and the likes. FTX was not popular in regards to numbers of customers

what is being found out is FTX was not widely used by the same customer numbers as coinbase/binance customer account numbers.. but instead that it was large institutional whales invested in FTX
big Names not big numbers

though even at say $15billion loss. a total of 1.2m users is not that much in average value per user, its just $12.5k each
or the more plausible amount of 100k whales is $150k each

...
as for "the hack". i see more of a "lets retire and say someone else stole the funds"
the "dont use our website or app" i see as more of a 'stop doing a bank run" scare tactic for those trying to access their accounts to withdraw
and account access denied as "it was the hack not us"

...
well the future now is 'scam bankman fraud' may have escaped the bankruptcy legal liability when he resigned(bureaucracy of write offs of fiat liability). but it seems he has not escaped the unlawful criminal fraud his business is being investigated for

news of a "hack" is just the sideshow. 'scam bankman fraud' has alot of questions to answer to about HIS activities prior to resignation
The most coincidental case is that I just watched a movie that was documented last year about a big fintech that pretended to have been hacked and the account balances of its customers were set to zero. But to my dismay, the purported monies stolen were actually stolen by the company's CEO himself. It was all a well-planned job by the CEO's hacker daughter that was just used by her father without knowing the intention of the father.

In light of this, Sam Bankman-Fried can't be exonerated in this case. But he would also be so dumb to engage in such acts. The trust would surely be revealed over time.
4972  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: November 15, 2022, 08:31:07 AM

Chelsea believes that bringing Graham Potter to coach the team will make the team to perform better immediately.  If Chelsea had given Thomas Tuchel the chance to remain in the club by now Chelsea should have been doing more  better than this their present state of performance.
I absolutely agree with you on this. I had so much faith in Thomas Tuchel to revive Chelsea back to winning ways they just needed to stay focused and patient but the club management were not so patient and were quick to cut ties with the German with hopes of finding solutions with Potter which turned out to be perfect replacement and looks sour at the moment. Potter is now facing the same problems Tuchel was sacked for.
Don't mind them, they thought there is a miracle in football. One thing I have known the EPL for is that they are not patient with their coaches unless they are seriously performing. 4973  Economy / Gambling / Re: Sanitize the Gambling Board. on: November 15, 2022, 07:03:14 AM
I partially disagree with you, even your post of complaint shouldn't have been here if the same penalties should be meted out on these posts. There can't be perfection here, but it would still be good for posters to maintain any gambling-related posting in the 'Gambling Discussion' area, while a dedicated discussion about casinos/companies should be posted under their threads in the 'Gambling' area. This will limit mistakes, but we should not be deprived of anything related to gambling as I've grown to like them.
4974  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling house responisbilty to protect people data on: November 15, 2022, 06:42:21 AM
Ideally, gambling houses should not disclose the identity of the person who won big without first asking him. Unfortunately, this is not respected always.

Those gamblers who do not want their information to be public, but the gambling houses make their names public, can go to the court of law as this is a serious offense. Gamblers can claim damages to the gambling site on this basis. Do you think gamblers should take the help of courts in this case ?
It's true that people have a right to their privacy, but often, privacies have been sold unknowingly by many. You might be chasing the shadow of yourself at times when you sue companies in court since you might have ignorantly agreed to such terms. This is why it's good to first read the terms and conditions of the companies you want to deal with.

This is not peculiar to gambling, it's everywhere. If such terms and conditions do not satisfy your person, then you might respectfully decline instead of claiming a right that has been sold.

4976  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not Quitting only a break on: November 14, 2022, 11:47:29 AM
What we call addiction is so powerful, it would take hold of people and control them to do what they have determined not to do. This is the case of the people you explain here. For gamblers to have concluded not to gamble again shows that they are losing money often through it, and this is unethical, but it is now a problem if they could not back the decision with strict actions.

Mind you, only two sets of gamblers would ever want to stay, those that win (it does not matter if it's regular) and those that do it for fun. If you are not in those categories and want to stop but having issues with that, then I advise you to seek external help, it's more effective.
4977  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I want sell my house for bitcoin on: November 14, 2022, 06:50:04 AM
As an experienced investor, I would advise you to sell those houses, especially when they are not occupied and you don't have any plans for them. Although I don't know your country and how real estate is booming there, nevertheless, it would be a very good bargain to buy Bitcoin at lower prices to sell later. Only that you would have to be careful and wise before investing the money. As no one knows the exact time that serious buyers would come for the houses, you might start the advert now, but keep the money in your bank account after selling, (USD) if possible.

Then you continue to analyze and speculate on Bitcoin and wait until a bullish trend is confirmed. For now, the trend is bearish and might go lower before it starts buying in near future.
4978  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: November 14, 2022, 06:07:59 AM
Argentina and Brazil qualified to this world cup without losing a single match. And the South American qualification is extremely tough. It's full of great teams.

That tells you that those 2 squads are at an extremely high level, and there's no chance that either of them will not go to the next round.

For sure Brazil will qualify in the group stage, because in the same way as he participated in all FIFA world cups until today, he also always qualified in the group stage, most of the time in first place.
The last time of Brazil failed to qualify first in the group stage was in the 1982 World Cup, in which Italy took first.

I believe that Brazil was crowned champion in the World Cup, but... in the most pessimistic scenario it should at least reach the semi-final.
I'm with you on this, the history of Brazil in previous world cups has proven them worthy to qualify for the knockout stage. As that is only speculation, Brazil truly deserves to not only reach the last 16 but also win the cup in Qatar. It's been a while since they've lifted that trophy, luck might be on their side this time as their present team is good. They are my first three to win the trophy, and the others are Germany and Spain, though I am having second thoughts about France.
4979  Economy / Exchanges / Re: FTX has been hacked, delete the app, don't go to website on: November 14, 2022, 05:32:29 AM
This is yet another social media nonsense, which is why I only rely on what I read from reliable news outlets.
How about verifying information yourself, instead of relying on yet another middleman that wont serve you truth when it’s uncomfortable.
Can you verify everything yourself? Definitely no, you might need third-party news to ascertain some things in certain situations, which was the reason for my reliable news outlets note. Also, make sure you know the full context of the subject you are replying to before doing so. Even the most hacked exchange still works properly when money is being stolen from it. Besides, did you not read the warnings from the OP that one should not open it for now to avoid trojan?
4980  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A disheartening true life winning story on: November 13, 2022, 03:43:50 PM
You may have your reasons subjective to yourself which probably might necessitate your diction but in a global setting as this I'll appreciate you give some regards to your nationality, it wasn't necessary mentioning name for no country is law perfected and corrupt free.
Nigeria is not the only country with corrupt judiciary or leaders. We are a great nation with great people.

Before you become emotional with my comments, it became an open discussion the moment I see the quote below:

It was open for further reading for everyone, now tell me where it has become a crime to mention the country and besides, where are the lies in my statement? This wouldn't happen in a developed country considering the fact that is gambling within its jurisdiction. If you followed up on the investigations, you would agree with me that they are only trying to reap the player and they are trying to bribe him because they will lose so much amount of money.

If you really gamble, I hope you don't become a victim because you will do worse if you have ever lost a game to a gambling vendor, keep the nationality brouhaha and let's say some facts.
I don't expect anyone to take anything personally here, @Lida93 is making it looks different with the tone of the reply. I am also a Nigerian, and what? I should not say the truth anymore? Well, I will always spit things out the way they are and call a spade what it is, not call blue a red.

A lot is happening there that is an abomination elsewhere, especially in the developed countries. Aside from all that, can the lottery company try that rubbish of not paying the guy in Europe or the US? Even the attempt to bribe him for his winning would have put them in real trouble. Let alone that government officials were involved in the bribery. Let's be realistic.
