I love your patience mprep. Redirections for trashed begging threads are useless and unnecessary for me. Smiley
I like to keep people informed of what rules they (accidentally or not) broke to prevent them from doing it again. Guess that backfires sometime Grin.
4962  Other / Meta / Re: User/MOD "mprep" is a WORTHLESS CUNT on: July 20, 2014, 03:59:18 PM
Not sure who the FUCK you think you are<...>
I am a forum moderator, if you haven't noticed. Grin

<...>WHY THE FUCK DOES THIS SITE HAVE A DONATE BUTTON LOCATED IN THE NAV BAR FOR?<...>
The forum provides a place of discussion, donations for it is used for improving it and building new forum software. You do nothing but complain, scream, beg and spam-post everywhere. As I mentioned previously, charity for good causes if you have some serious rep is OK, asking for funds because you want some free Bitcoin here isn't.

<...>but if you called what I was doing "begging"<...>

Hi All,

I'm new here and was told this is the place for scams. So where da scams at?? I want in on them all!!!

I'm also out of bitcoin ... would any of you be so kind as to help me out with a few bits?? It's been tough times for me and I appreciate any donations!!

<address removed>

Thank you for your support!!
If that's not begging, what is? <-- That's a rhetorical question by the way, just in case you haven't understood Cheesy.

<...>where's your rules now you USELESS CUNT?!?!<...>

It must suck to be poor and new to the bitcoin world. Apparently it's against the "forum rules to _beg_" as it was put to me. However my post stated I would be grateful for any "donations" and the best advice on how to start out with fairly dated hardware and not buying in to get coins.

The my post was deleted by user/MOD "mprep".

Ashamed what society has really come to....

Discussion about the Bitcoin Forum

Bitcointalk isn't the whole society, it's a community, with it's own rules.
4964  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcoin and the Poor on: July 20, 2014, 02:24:18 PM
Begging/asking for donations (without any charitable cause and a huge reputation) is not allowed as per forum rules. I don't make them (although I do support them) - I just follow and enforce them. If begging was allowed, this place would be swarmed with useless threads like yours.
4965  Other / Meta / Re: Banned on: July 20, 2014, 12:17:49 PM
Look,I know it looks like this and I know I've made a mistake but I want just one more chance.nothing more.If this happens again I will be the first one to tell that my account should be banned. But that is all I want. Please understand me.I promise I will really change  the way I write and I will no longer make this insubstantial posts. But the account means a lot to me,as well as this community, believe me.I am not somebody who doesn't care at all.
Why should you be an exception? You've gotten your warning when you received a temp ban, yet you didn't listen. If you want your account back, send an email to the email address shown on the ban note with an appeal. If theymos decides the ban should be lifted, he will.

BTW, a ban in here means that not only your account but you, as an individual, has been banned from these forums.

And this little piggy went hashing!

Entry #: 47
Customer #: 19451

Found a good one:

"I have so much debt, I can start a government."

mprep

Seems like a nice service and the prices per hash do seem to be lower than othe cloud hashing sites although it's quite confusing when prices in fiat are listed in Yen rather the USD. Maybe there should be an option to change between currencies. Also, there are  some typos such as:

No noise heat & radiation, Without waiting & maintain

No noise, heat & radiation, Without (<---I suggest "No" instead of "Without") waiting & maintainance.

Other than that, the whole site looks clean, with a pretty neat design.
4968  Other / Meta / Re: Custom avatars don't working now? on: July 18, 2014, 08:41:54 PM
If you uploaded your avatar recently, it may have been lost in the move.
admin, when we can upload avatar once again?
People should learn to read at least the same page they post in:

Does anyone knows when the custom avatars will come back ? Sad

Probably not before we have the new forum software (which is at least 9 months from now)...
4969  Other / Meta / Re: Should abusers/spammers of trust system be removed from the DefaultTrust chain? on: July 18, 2014, 08:37:45 PM
For example, user U1TRA_L0RD is trusted in DefaultTrust from bitpop, while he has unanimously negative feedback that is from DefaultTrust and also negative-spammed Vod.

Should this be handled in general? I do not mean to single out U1TRA_L0RD as an example, there are potentially more such users that do not belong on DefaultTrust. Or should I PM the person that trusts him (in this case bitpop) to resolve this?
I recommend PMing the person that trusts him since he's responsible for maintaining his trust list.
4970  Other / Meta / Re: Auction post needs editing on: July 18, 2014, 03:49:32 PM
I reported it since I can't moderate your posts. Mods who are in charge of that section will decide.
4971  Other / Meta / Re: How did TradeFortress change his name? on: July 18, 2014, 08:09:25 AM
I fixed that for you.
You'd be surprised on how little theymos gets from this forum if you saw the numbers. Cool
4972  Other / Meta / Re: Feature Request for the forum on: July 17, 2014, 08:27:32 PM
Trust feedback is not moderated (except for completely obvious spam (advertising, tons of feedback with nonsense text, etc.)) for a reason. It would leave too much room for abuse from the moderator's side.

Edit:

well thats a good question but i warned in a topic that the op is a proven scammer and then he gave me a negative feedback
He probably doesn't belong to many Trust lists so most people won't see his feedback and even if they do, they'll probably ignore it.
4973  Other / Meta / Re: Can you sell/buy bitcointalk accounts? on: July 17, 2014, 07:53:42 PM
I very much doubt it's any where near these figures that are being branded about. The vast majority will be used for signature deals. 90% is probably a conservative estimate. Why spend 0.4 on a Snr account when you can scam on a newbie one? It's probably not even worth buying one. If you're suspected of even trying to pull a scam the account will be negbombed and ruined and you've lost your money. If that happens on a newbie account the scammer just rinses and repeats and has lost nothing.
Some scams are quite elaborate and well planned since they usually involve much more money than usual. A fake rep and an older account is needed for those. As Bitcoin is getting a bigger crowd, bigger deals happen thus more money is moved. Some scammers want to cash in on these deals.
But some scams are really obvious (eg. ponzis, impersonators, sending you a file via Skype, asking you to "test a program", etc) and yet people still fall for it...

I guess hilariousandco's point is, if you can do it the easy way, why would you waste 0.4 btc and do it the hard way.
To do major scams that would set you for life maybe. Grin

4975  Other / Meta / Re: How do you Hero members of this forum feel when you look newbies! on: July 17, 2014, 04:25:52 PM
I don't feel anything, I just click the "Report to moderator" button whenever someone without an avatar posts. I used to only report the gypsy with the anal porn star avatar, but she went away and I'm terribly bitter over it.
Guess you'd be reporting my posts over and over then Cheesy.

Some newbies are just as knowledgeable and wealthy as some hero members. Some hero members have not had any real wealth because most sold their coins way before they become this value.
Some just didn't have that many to start with, however many do earn some knowledge along the way. Undecided
4976  Other / Meta / Re: GoalCoin on: July 17, 2014, 04:06:35 PM
Just saw this article whilst on my lunch break: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/28344335

I wonder if they have a crackdown push around the time of the World Cup.
Might be. They could just be increasing the hidden bounties for each correct case and/or the overall influx of content regarding FIFA logically would include more people using FIFA's copyrighted material.
4977  Other / Meta / Re: Can you sell/buy bitcointalk accounts? on: July 17, 2014, 04:03:58 PM
its most likely for signature campaign. with link on signature space, its what SEO's call "backlinks"

anyhow, selling account is a shady thing

it is not really most likely for sig campaigns.

This is most likely to buy trusted account and make a scam.... believe me..

Sig campaigns too ... but.
If we could see a percentage of what bought accounts were used for in the last year, it'll probably be 60/40, with 60% being used for some sort of scamming. We could try and prevent it, but the trades would just move off-site. Also, much more bought accounts nowadays are used for sig campaigns due to the member group restrictions on signatures and overall increased payment to sig campaign participants.
4978  Other / Meta / Re: BitcoinTalk++ script - v0.2.93 on: July 17, 2014, 03:58:21 PM
Hey JackJack, are there plans to make the script compatible with the new Forum Software when it comes out?
Absolutely
Will it keep the current accounts?

Also, New feature Request: Replace the default search here with Google Search
That's a great idea!
Yes, it will. Most, if not all info/stats/etc. will be transferred over.

I have send a PM to JackJack but no reply. Does it mean that I can't join until I reach 180 activities?
Kindly,
       MZ
Just wait a bit - not all of us spend 10 hours a day here Cheesy.
4979  Other / Meta / Re: How do you Hero members of this forum feel when you look newbies! on: July 17, 2014, 03:57:22 PM
It really depends: newbies are a mixed bunch. Sometimes I see new users who genuinely try to learn and ask for such info politely. Some even spend some time reading, researching before asking questions and I respect these kind of people. I've seen newbies who know even more about Bitcoins then your regular seasoned member (be it a Hero or a Senior member).

However, nowadays, as Bitcoin is getting more and more exposure and consequently - popularity (which is a positive thing nonetheless Smiley) I see much more new members coming in, who feel as if they are the centre of the world and always try to make sure everybody knows it Roll Eyes. Then there's those who have absolutely no idea of how Bitcoin works, yet they criticize it when they lose their wallet, bitcoins, etc. The least desirable bunch is the ones I constantly need to moderate, warn and nuke. When I became a patroller (site-wide moderator of Newbies) I never thought I'd encounter so many of these kind of members.

I guess exposure and popularity brings in a mixed crowd.  Grin

VIPs can change their name on a whim.
Yea, it's one of the perks of being a VIP although it's considered more as a huge "thank you" to the forum.
