4961  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: [NOV 2019] Fees are low, use this opportunity to Consolidate your small inputs! on: December 04, 2019, 08:39:47 AM
The transaction eventually confirmed in about 11 hours. So still within range of the day. I sent it in the morning of that day, and by the time I finished my dinner it already had 2 confirmations. 1 sat fee per byte. (0.00000113 BTC to be exact.)

I sent a transaction yesterday and it took less than an hour to confirm at 1 sat per byte (exactly).
4962  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: December 04, 2019, 08:31:31 AM
Do cloudflare support onion routing?

If not then this isn't possible as they like to do the proof you're a human and the hashcash browser checking so they need to own the certificate.

Onion routing is the ability to encrypt data and send the encrypted data through another host to add a layer of encryption and mean the server in the middle (cloudflare) can add what it needs to (hashcash and captcha) to moderate the connection.

Reading the document on that site (factsheet at the top) it's here you need to register: https://www.fincen.gov/314a/Login

Don't post the link as it lifts the site up in search engines. Replace any "." with a [dot].

Hi, this guide might be helpful for you: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Transferring_coins_from_Bitcoin-Qt_to_Electrum

It outlines the steps for getting your private keys to import to electrum.
4966  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bybit Review: The Best Margin Trading Platform on: December 02, 2019, 04:27:16 AM
Does anybody know do Bybit become 'unresponsive' like Bitmex on a sudden price movements? I'm talking about those moments where the Bitmex API is returning "Busy" and you can't even cancel your orders.

I don't think they are unresponsive during pumps. I wasn't here for the last one but a few before it they've stayed very responsive throughout.

They probably have better management of queued requests than bitmex does....

It's a shame they don't have all the trade pairs that bitmex does though but they do have more than binance at least afaik.

The major forks for the BTC previously held by OgNasty will be liquidated sometime before the end of the year. When this is done, you'll see a bunch of BTC sent to 17RTT[...]. The forkcoins for the other BTC will not be liquidated soon.

Should've done it at 0.2BTC :-(. Although it is a bit nicer that you're not using a bull run to manipulate the new comers from retail that they're on to something good by trying to drop your bags there...

Nice to know the funds are with the forum (in its namesake currency). It might be nice to see another contest with the prize pool coming from the BTG forks (or even subsidise the art contest).

Are the remaining minor fork coins still held in escrow for the forum by OGNasty?

4968  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor Black Friday deals from 26 Nov - 3 Dec 2019 on: December 01, 2019, 10:04:11 AM
I'll report it and get the topic split.

I mean you can do a lot in wallets like electrum with the trezor so you should be able to do the same with the ledger (like setup passwords and I think you can use different address types). If a large amount of mining payments are being paid and they can't afford to risk any it might be better to pay to nested segwit or a password protected wallet (assuming native segwit is normally used).
4969  Economy / Lending / Re: Free lightning tests on: December 01, 2019, 12:47:07 AM
Seems to have gone through first time... I must be doing something wrong here (probably broken something while fiddling with settings 🤣).
4970  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor Black Friday deals from 26 Nov - 3 Dec 2019 on: December 01, 2019, 12:02:50 AM
It is the same as with the Nano S. It is not recommended as it can create different issues like failure to synchronize the accounts and long validations and sending procedures.
It is better to keep those mining funds in a software wallet, wait for it to accumulate a bit and than send it altogether to your Ledger wallet.
Read this > https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018969814

Can you not just do the password thing trezor recommend?

I used to get mining earnings being paid to my trezor once a day and a solution for slow sync times was to just use a password protected wallet as well as the regular one.

Mycelium still takes a long time to sync but everything else is fast now...
4971  Other / Archival / Re: ledger nano x - not recognized by Electrum on Windows on: November 30, 2019, 11:14:24 PM
Have you tried a different cable?
Is it recognised by the computer when you plug it in? Can you screenshot the error electrum is giving you and tell us your os?

Code:

OK here you go!

I have it on split screen so this should hopefully work...
4973  Economy / Lending / Re: Free lightning tests on: November 30, 2019, 09:43:30 PM
I changed it from automatic to always on before sending the payment request. There's probably a lot of apps running in the background. I've got to do some work anyway in about an hour so if you're available, I can leave my phone on and see if it can accept anything (should be around for 12 hours).
4974  Economy / Lending / Re: Free lightning tests on: November 30, 2019, 05:39:37 AM
I think the app on my side doesn't stay online for long. I'll send a new request when you're ready and I'm back going offline for a while...
4975  Economy / Lending / Re: Free lightning tests on: November 30, 2019, 03:19:59 AM
Here you go:
Code:
 lightning:lnbc100u1pw7rhcdpp5xrf9khl8pu929tssfvhutmzh3lcq7rglwf05740svh9wcdv6hjmqdqqxqr4rqrzjqwryaup9lh50kkranzgcdnn2fgvx390wgj5jd07rwr3vxeje0glc7zf4hyqqgucqqqqqqqlgqqqqqeqqjqyxssjrdswve0nsn3naa4fhad2ef8nnthwzwpsah4enqksyd7pf5hwrx3v0uq6wg9ugcq3zkmf6p9f6qd3s0sh2q6d5s5z3kw9yx58hcpak44x7

Yeah I'm using éclair and it seems a bit strange as the balance subtracts the amount and then it's added back recursively until the funds go through. We're still probabky in alpha stage with this though so I assume things will look more normal later on.
4976  Economy / Lending / Re: Free lightning tests on: November 30, 2019, 03:04:47 AM
Yeah they went through @hcp, you should be seeing them in your balance?
Let me know when/if you want a repayment request, or you could try a few other things on the ln.

...]

I'm at the Women's College at the UQ on their free wifi using both mobile devices but I can't send to you at the moment. I'll keep trying fora while.

Seems to have gone through anyway. Public WiFi is normally awful so I'm surprised it worked...
4977  Other / Meta / Re: || Problem on losing/hack of accounts on: November 30, 2019, 02:42:01 AM
I thought there was a cooling off period for email changes? Like 7 days or something already?

So you could lock an account if the email/password were changed.
4978  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: bitcoin core v0.19.1 slow to start? on: November 30, 2019, 12:03:01 AM
Any chance you could post more info? What operating system are you on, can you post the relevant parts of the debug log?.

It could be that there's more segwit Txs in blocks or blocks are somewhat fuller or the startup procedure for core may have changed.
4979  Economy / Lending / Re: Free lightning tests on: November 29, 2019, 11:46:24 PM
Here's the repayment request, try it once or twice and if it doesn't work send me an email before trying again (I might have to fiddle with a vpn for a few seconds).

It's a shame he never came back, not even to post after that request.

Anyway daily bump, when I go, timelord may still be here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5184177.0
