4961  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Twitter hack: Be careful with your account as attacks are increasing on: October 15, 2020, 12:43:23 PM
Those "better" scammers would honestly probably do a killing in the creatives industry. They really do make great graphics and decent post copyrighting to be able to trick more people. Unfortunately they're using their talents in malicious means.
I guess they aren't going where you're pointing them to because it won't fetch them more cash easily like scamming gullible people would afford them. Those scumbags actually weigh their options.

Back to the OP, I actually saw something similar being promoted from CZ Binance's handle on twitter and instantly I concluded there was something wrong with that handle. In this auster age, with finances coming down, I don't believe in easy money in the form of giveaways. No free lunch anywhere. And to think anyone would double anyone's Bitcoin/altcoins is just being plainly greedy. Those who fall prey to such are as guilty as those who scam them. However, on hacked account, my suggestion is that people should put a 2FA on their accounts. I have had several occasions where I got codes sent to me from transactions I didn't initiate. Instantly it would occur to me that someone was trying to hack my account. But they never get to succeed and it's all thanks to 2FA.
4962  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When You trade Do You use VPN? on: October 15, 2020, 08:55:29 AM
I think it's even a huge risk trying to use a VPN for trading or on any site that forbids one's country from registration. What happens to one's capital on the site once it's discovered that one circumvented the process and there is a ban and one's account is blacklisted? Of course, you get to feel the hurt and then regret your involvement because of the waste of time. For me, once there is a country restriction on any site I want to use I just stay out. For instance there is a country restriction from PayPal on my country. What I do is stay away from sites which have only PayPal as a mean of payment for any online stuff I do. It's as simple as that for me.
4963  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN basher, the Liar 'John McAfee' is finally Arrested on: October 14, 2020, 07:35:15 PM
I'm definitely not totally against tax evasion(because most governments suck), but I'd probably at least be ever-so-slightly compassionate about his arrest if he didn't pump and dump coins left and right. Dude made A LOT of money taking advantage of his notoriety while dumping on a lot of newbies.
This is exactly the grouse people should have with him, and not necessarily that he bashed Bitcoin. From my view, he even promoted Bitcoin more. I was one of those who got affected by his attics with the GHOST project. His media clout and influence brought ESH to an ATH because it sold out from $0.02 to well over $2 just so people wanted to get the airdropped GHOST. Sadly, soon after the airdrop the controversial McAfee acted his usual unreliability and accused the GHOST management of lack of seriousness and dumped it. Well, this is a different ball game now and in the past too. If he's found culpable in the offence he was docked for, he should be made to face the  law. No one is above the law, at least not in sane societies.
4964  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you lend your cryptocurrencies? on: October 14, 2020, 11:53:20 AM
The closest I came to lending with assurance of not losing my cryptos was with the Poloniex Exchange. It used to fascinate me how I could lend my coins out on that platform and another trader picking it up even without having any direct chat with me. Interests are paid as at when due and the coins are returned at expiration. But Polo has since stopped that service. I wish any other exchange would pick it up. Notably, I have heard of p2p groups where people go into borrowing and loaning of cryptos. But they do that with escrows.  However, we can't compare what interests are paid on any loaned crypto to what one makes trading them by oneself. The key thing to excel on this is getting the required skill set for trading.
4965  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you trust newbies that starts projects? on: October 14, 2020, 08:14:00 AM
I was confused by your title, maybe you can try fixing it.

I don’t base on ranks but I base my judgment on the quality of the project that they run. We cannot assure that campaigns run by high ranking members will always become successful  sometimes its really disappointing. Its always our due diligence as bounty hunters to choose what campaigns we like to be part of.
Yes, the rank of the BM isn't the only thing to be considered while deciding whether to enroll in a bounty or not but a newbie ranked BM is more of a red flag than the higher ranked users. Newbies don't have much to lose if they scam hunters and then get tagged, they simply move on and create another account. However, sometimes the newbie accounts we see here may have been running bounties on other crypto fora and may have acquired the prerequisite knowledge and as such know what it takes to run bounties. That they're newbies here doesn't mean they can't run bounties successfully. For me, I can enroll in a bounty run by a newbie account registered in a project's name. That way, I think hunters have the feel of getting their rewards at the end of bounty as decent projects will always want to stay out of controversies.
4966  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Swing Trading and Chart Analysis on: October 14, 2020, 05:32:21 AM
Swing Trading demands patience and patience is what a whole lot of traders lack. The chart has the pattern of up and down movements. That's why it swings and it messes up with trading emotions. It could take days to hit TP and that drags the impatient minds. However, it's my best form of trading technique because it's less stressful. It only takes for one to view one's technicals, place a trade and walk away. That's just it.

OP, kindly move this topic to Trading Discussion Board as someone up here had already suggested.

4969  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why do people go into prostitution? on: October 11, 2020, 10:09:18 PM
Logically, no explanation is justifiable going into prostitution apart from the same reason that makes people seek white collar jobs - money. A lot of those who go into it adduce poverty or rejection as their reasons just so they won't be frowned at but in the actual sense they go into it because they see it as a real job. What other job satisfaction does a kleptomaniac need? Yep, I know not all kleptomaniacs love that cloak of prostitution. But those who don't  indulge it as a profession, will find flirtatious ways to express that carnal craving. Well, apart from the morality question (I am a moralist) on such a profession, I think people won't see it differently as not a job. So, those who go into it should quit excuses.
4970  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 12 years and no country has approved Bitcoin ?? on: October 11, 2020, 07:54:22 PM
...and in 2018, 2nd richest man "Warren Buffet" said "bitcoin will end up badly" Smiley
May be in the next five years from now Warren Buffet will find it necessary to take back his word on that.

On the Bitcoin journey so far, I think we are gradually getting there. I am of the opinion that good things don't come cheap. Come to even think of it, the Bitcoin idea will take away financial power from the government and place it in the hands of people we don't expect government to speedily do anything positive to aid its adoption.

This just proves that bitcoin has been decentralized for 12 years. This is a good trend for crypto.
Yes, 12 years and still counting. Cryptocurrency in a budding industry that has come to stay. Greater things ahead.
4971  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People Say btc is Not ponzi but its look like ponzi on: October 11, 2020, 04:13:13 PM
Ponzi is Old investors getting payed from new investors
I think this simplifies that definition of ponzi, succinctly put. Those mischief makers who liken Bitcoin to a ponzi scheme, either they aren't sincere to themselves or they truly don't understand the phonemenal Bitcoin. Except, it existed in the past I haven't read anywhere (both online and offline) where it was said that Bitcoin had a referral programm or commission like most of the present projects now do. I will like to read about this, if there is any link to such stories.
4972  Economy / Reputation / Re: Abusing The Bitcointalk Trust System For Personal And Selfish Interests on: October 11, 2020, 07:18:49 AM
Let me quickly put it here - I just discovered now that there has been an attempt to hack my Telegram account. This is the first of its kind for me since I started using it a few years ago. I can't really say what the person behind it is trying to achieve or prove. The handle is @kenngurai. The whole thing just went blank as I tried to access it.

Please, no one should respond to any posts or pms from that handle until I get this sorted out today when am back from church. I will post here once that is done. Thanks.

Edited: I am now able to access the handle again. I think everything is well now.

Question for your advice #1)

While you advise people not to participate in unescrowed bounties, and you join in Tozex, Gaimin, ClipX, 3WM, and Candela bounties, managed by us but not escrowed?  As we see you are still working on those bounties.

Question for your advice #3)  Follow only trusted Bounty Managers.

Who are the trusted bounty managers? So it means we are untrustworthy bounty managers? If so, why you participated in 7 bounties managed by us?Is their success ratio better than ours? (Please see topic 3) If so, please give their names and do a favor to the bounty hunters so that they will benefit it.

Question for your advice #4) Did you read our topic about ClipX and saw the proofs how we researched the project in detail? Also, do you have any proof about ClipX being a scam or used the IDs?
Honestly, I am beginning to think that you're shielding the ClipX team from blame with all your counter accusations. One would've expected you to amicably appeal to the community and bounty hunters who suffered emotional trauma because of the personal documents they submitted to the ClipX team. An apology would've done a magic and people would've understood your understanding of the concept of "mistakes do happen" and not the frenzy for retaliation you've indulged, tagging those who called the bounty you managed out. Is saying, I am sorry a difficult thing to say?

BTW, I had to sit out all my participations to the end and get my stakes for a labourer deserves its pay.
4975  Economy / Reputation / Re: Abusing The Bitcointalk Trust System For Personal And Selfish Interests on: October 10, 2020, 05:33:50 PM
I have sent PM to: @xenon131, to review this thread.

Because I didn't participate in the bounty campaign managed by: @BountyDetective, so I don't know the initial problem, about the trust given to @BountyDetective by:@xenon131.

It seems that in your case the OP should involve:@ Mpamaegbu, Because I saw @ xenon131, gave red credentials based on this topic: ClipX steals KYC data and shuts down

If, @xenon131 responds to my PM and wants to say something here about trust, maybe your problem is solved, just wait for @xenon131 to come here, hopefully it goes well and is resolved well.
That's right. I actually started that thread on ClipX because of the shabby way the project team treated bounty hunters of which I was one. My anger was fueled because the ClipX team knew they weren't continuing with the project but they insisted that hunters passed a KYC with them. However, I didn't agree with @xenon131 for tagging Bounty Detective and I said it in clear terms in this comment 👇because I felt it was a bit harsh as BD might even have incurred some losses themselves too running that bounty.

~

I wish me has encountered his bounty topic a month earlier. To left in the lurch the bunch of bitcointalk users ... hm, it  does no credit to  the manager somehow related to the project. I have tagged him today.
Well, honestly I don't think the BM deserved to be tagged for that (at least not now, except we can prove a case that BD is a part of the ClipX team). Otherwise, tagging BD is for me too harsh a decision. From BD's claim, said to have argued it out with the ClipX team to drop the idea of a KYC. It's also a loss for them. I think BD also innocently fell prey to ClipX too. However, I believe it should've stood its ground and warned hunters not to go ahead with the KYC

Nevertheless, I opened that thread so that innocent participants can be brought to the knowledge of what dangers lie in exposing their private data to bounty projects and also of what a scam the ClipX team turned into. Nobody should expose their passports, no matter how enticing the bounty seems. As hunters, we should avoid any bounty that demands a KYC that is more that a validation of email addresses.

If I felt the fault was entirely that of BD, perhaps I would've tagged them at once when I made that post. Well, I hope xenon131 sees reason to reconsider on this and resolve it.
4976  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Your strategy in taking profit on: October 10, 2020, 01:12:07 PM
Taking profit will differ with individual traders; base on period (long term and short term), coin type etc. I dont consider it to early to know the strategy to stay beyond the bull market and rather thrive through the bear.
Yes, the strategy to taking profit does differ among traders. For me, I rely on TA which is usually from support and resistance. But I must admit that sometimes one gets carried away with greed and begin to shift the parameters when take profit is about to be hit.

1. What coin are you taking your profit?
Any coin that is worth trading, I trade and take profit.

2. If stable coin, When do you plan to shift to it?
I tether whenever I sell off and suspect that Bitcoin (base crypto) is going to crash.

3. What is the strategy to pay tax?
The government of my country doesn't really care about this. We only pay stamp duties and other bank charges whenever we make crypto transactions through banks.
4977  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people avoid bitcoin? on: October 09, 2020, 12:45:41 PM
You need somewhere to exchange the wallets for money. Those to whom you transfer, too, will need to find a place to exchange the bitcoins for cash.
I know this isn't the case all the time as we do have shops and services that accept Bitcoin in direct exchange for goods and services without converting to fiat.

...bitcoin is faster and easier, but the lack of acceptance of bitcoin in a government is also the reason why people don't use bitcoin as a way of transacting in the mainstream world.
That's a salient point why there seems to be a sort of apathy towards the use of Bitcoin by the larger society - lack of government support for adoption. Once there is a legislation to that effect, use and demand for Bitcoin will spiral out of control. Trust me.
4978  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [RPD] Rapids | POS/MN | QUARK | Fast & Secure payments across Social Media on: October 09, 2020, 09:53:12 AM
Rapids did a 5 Billion coin burn the other day! Great progress in this project!

Not to forget the big Advertising boards that now are on place at the Burnley F.C. home-stadium!
But the current total supply is still at 35billion from stats on the https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/rapids site. Perhaps it hasn't updated or what? Again, if the burn actually did happen it hasn't had any positive impact on price.
4979  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi Bubble Burst? on: October 09, 2020, 09:19:38 AM
Well, I think the crash at the moment is a general market thing and not only confined to DeFi projects. However, I have observed that Yearn.Finance has had the worse hit among the DeFis. At a point in Sept it got to over $40,000. Now it's trading below $20,000. But this crash hasn't discouraged investors from rushing to DeFis. More DeFi projects are now coming to the market on daily basis and are getting attention. Honestly, while I still maintain that DeFi is just a trend like we had with ICOs and IEOs, I believe the trend isn't ending now. At least, we will continue to see this trend till the end of 2020.
4980  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anyone inside this paid trading group ? on: October 08, 2020, 04:04:39 PM
I came accross this trading group on telegram they charge .06 btc to become a lifetime member,
At the current rate, 0.06btc is over $650. That's a huge sum of money for anyone to pay just to belong to a signal providing group. I would rather fancy my chances taking risk with any of these "Farm" projects at their ICO stage or with any other DeFis instead of paying such as a registration fee to someone whose calls for trades may not even be accurate. As a newbie, some of these motivational speeches and assurances of success also caught my attention. But with time I got to know they were all empty promises. Believe me, you will be better off without such groups. Most of them aren't even traders, but signal marketers.
