4961  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Was Ripple the cause of this bullish trend? What do you think? on: February 06, 2020, 02:16:42 PM
When compared to the other altcoins such as Ethereum and Litecoin, the spike in the Ripple prices recently have been more moderate. And also, I was not that impressed by the verbal duel between Mike Novogratz (CEO of Galaxy Digital) and Brad Garlinghouse (CEO of Ripple). I thought that the prediction made by Novogratz was more supported by the facts, when compared to the one made by Garlinghouse.
4962  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whoa, Ethereum breaks the $200 barrier on: February 06, 2020, 02:09:38 PM
I was surprised to see ETH back to levels above 0.02 BTC per coin. I was actually expecting a drop, after all the drama related to the roll-out of Ethereum 2.0. During the past one or two years, Ethereum has been plagued with issues related to scalability, security and transaction speed/cost. I am not seeing any improvement in any of the above listed parameters.

I call this is just shit by management because they are creating confusion as shutdown all area is nothing good most of peoples doing business and all things without any problem so they need to do some better things for end of this fear but they are creating more with act like these today we have some good news as well as nearly 30 countries participating in Malam Jabba ice sketing event because now most of things under control in all country.

Well.. there is no doubt that the situation is changing. The Sri Lankan tour of Pakistan was a successful one and that encouraged other teams such as Bangladesh to visit that country. But the next challenge would be to convince the big 3 teams (India, England and Australia) to tour Pakistan. That will give a big boost in revenue for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Missing Rohit now as India will need to make 400 runs which can be defended. 350 seems too easy to chase.
That is the truth, the grounds are small in New Zealand and they played well to chase the target. The pitch was batsman friendly and there is nothing for the bowlers, the team batting second will have the advantage in these kind of situations and to see a match with 695 runs in a match is entertaining for the audience, if the remainder of the series is played on dead pitches then the team chasing will have the advantage.
New Zealand grounds were small which is also a reason for the scoring of 347 by India and the same getting chased by New Zealand by the 49th over. In all the matches played by India, whether it is home ground or away it has got the best audience support. This truly gives boost to play better than the opponent in all conditions. The first match win will pressure up Indian team to stand equal winning the second ODI.

Just admit it. The performance by the Indian bowlers was horrible (in particular medium pacer Shardul Thakur and the spinner Kuldeep Yadav). No excuse is going to make up for their poor bowling. India has some of the best batsmen in the world. If the ground was that small, then what prevented them from making a total of around 400?
4965  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: February 06, 2020, 01:49:03 PM
I wouldn't say best as they look strong only when they play together and for quite some time that's not the case, its going against them (Kuldeep-Chahal). In T-20 format I would say Afghan spinners are best. They are unlucky that they don't have good team and don't get support from their Batsmen and Seam bowlers otherwise they can beat any team or i dare to say can become world champions in short format.

The Afghan spinners are playing a lot of franchise T20 cricket. Apart from Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan and Mujeeb ur Rahman, we have new spinners such as Qais Ahmad and Zahir Khan participating in such leagues. The plus point is that these spinners get good salaries and they can concentrate in the sport full-time. But the negative is that they bowl a lot and the batsmen get used to their variation.

Good to see James Neesham back in the New Zealand bowler. He is someone who is capable of bowling economically in the middle overs. In the absence of strike bowlers such as Boult and Ferguson, he will be very useful against the Indian batting lineup. So far the New Zealand bowlers have done well, to restrict India to 62/2 after 13 overs. Onl;y Hamish Bennett looked out of sorts, as he conceded 26 from his 3 overs. The other bowlers have done well, till now (Southee/de Grandhomme/Neesham).
4967  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Chain or Binance DEX hype is gone! on: February 04, 2020, 03:09:45 AM
Its true that the hype of binance chain and dex right now is gone but the real thing is they focus on fiat gateway right now. And there are still quality projects migrating to binance chain. Binance really becomes an amazing ecosystem that have so many usecases in different variety. Launchpad hype is still on play, as long as they gain profit from it.
Binance laucnhpad these days is no longer profitable for investors as before. Currently, Binance still holds the rule of holding their BNB for over 1 month to join Binance Launchpad. so there are still a lot of people holding BNB from $ 25 and $ 30 now. Up to now, investors are still in loss and recent projects are only x2 or x1.75. The holding coin to join Binance's IEO is a loss. I think the trend right now is to buy and hold as many coins as possible. The IEO trend has long been extinguished and the hype of Binance seems to be over.

What happened to the ICOs is repeating itself with the IEOs. In the initial months, the ICO market was abound with good projects (such as Ethereum in 2014, Stratis in 2016 and Augur in 2015). Those who invested in these ICOs received up to 100x returns. But their success attracted a lot of scammers in to the market and this tarnished the reputation of the market. The proportion of good projects went down and an increasing number of investors ended up with huge losses.
4968  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: February 04, 2020, 02:52:21 AM
Only disappointment i found was Sanju Samson who just could not capitalise the given opportunity and in fact in last match Kohli rested and was given the chance which means India Team had given a chance. Other then him all other players have performed well and new bowlers like Saini , Thakur has done well under pressure .

IMO, Samson is a very over-rated player. He has made a few good knocks against teams such as Zimbabwe, but I believe that he has got enough chances till now. He was a part of the playing XI for the 4th and 5th T20 matches against New Zealand and he was given the opening slot in both the matches. And he made a total of 10 runs. There were a lot of complaints from his fans that Samson is not being given opportunities. But now I think that players such as Ishan Kishan should be given an opportunity to represent India.
4969  Economy / Economics / Re: Don't spend bitcoin. Not now. on: February 03, 2020, 05:02:03 PM
Your analysis is not correct. You are advising not to spend bitcoin until its widely accepted like USD. Bitcoin acceptability is here already that is why we can sell it and get fiat or crypto in return. Spending bitcoin will make it more popular and speed up it mass adoption.

There are a lot of ways to popularize Bitcoin and I don't think that "spending" is one of those methods. Let me explain a bit. As of now, Bitcoin is used mostly as a speculative investment asset. Very few people are purchasing Bitcoin, so that they could use it for making payments. Also, an increase in spending can have a negative impact on the exchange rates of Bitcoin and this can actually have a negative impact on its global adoption. You can spend your coins if you want, and no one is going to stop you. But at the same time, my personal opinion is that we are a few years away from a new ATH and it will be better to have some patience with our BTC holdings.
4970  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Conor McGregor vs Manny Pacquiao on: February 03, 2020, 04:57:33 PM
Recently I read an article in IB Times, which claimed that a potential fight between Conor McGregor and Manny Pacquiao may generate revenues in excess of $250 million. This is going to be a windfall for Manny, but I am not sure whether Conor will be interested. Because he is having plenty of options right now. I heard that a number of big names are interested in fighting against him (one name that comes to my mind right now is that of Terence Crawford).
4971  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the strangest Fiat currency you have seen? on: February 03, 2020, 04:36:34 PM

Or Zimbabwe dollars:

Thats 100 000 000 000 000 $ bill. You have to be a millionaire to buy a chewing gum i guess.

I have one of those hanging on my wall.
I bought it on Ebay a few years ago.
Just a memento of how it can happen ("slow at sstart, then all of a sudden" se DM graph above) to have BTCUSD in the millions.

Every true bitcoiner should have one of those.

Even I have a couple of these banknotes with me. I also got them from Ebay, sometime during 2014. I heard that the Zimbabwe Dollar is no longer used in that country and they are using foreign currencies such as the United States Dollar and the South African Rand instead. Feels bad.. Zimbabwe used to be one of the richest countries in Southern Africa region.
4972  Economy / Economics / Re: Corona Virus and The Effect on The Markets on: February 03, 2020, 04:10:45 PM
The epidemic is showing no signs of slowdown and every day thousands are getting infected. New cities are being placed under lock-down in China. Now it is sure that this will lead to hundreds of billions of USD worth of financial loss in that country. Investors will be left poorer and many of them will be forced to sell their Bitcoin holdings to cover immediate expenses.
4973  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: February 03, 2020, 03:33:32 PM
If you are talking about population it does not mean that the amount of people will make a difference, you need to have an interest for the game and if you have the talent you will get selected, China has the biggest population and they do not have a cricket team  Tongue.

I agree. I am just saying that it will be too much to ask for 28,000 people to create a cricket team, which can take on a country such as India (population of close to 1.4 billion). There was some effort from the Zimbabwe board to spread cricket to the indigenous population. But they are considering it as a career option, rather than as a pure sport. There have been some good black players in the past (such as Henry Olonga and Tatenda Taibu), but few are getting noticed now.
4974  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: February 03, 2020, 03:10:13 PM
After whitewashed by India during the T20 series (0-5), now New Zealand can focus their attention to the ODI series. Fortunately for them, there will be only 3 matches. Losing 0-3 is much better than losing 0-5, in my opinion. All of their strike bowlers are missing (Trent Boult, Lockie Ferguson, and Matt Henry) and as usual Tim Southee will lead the Kiwi cannon fodder against India.
4975  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: February 03, 2020, 03:16:33 AM
Zimbabwe is good side but now they need some good time as they are also facing some serious domestic problems like quota system and wagering problems too much involvement from politicians like this they need to stop this all and work on domestic system upgradtion otherwise this is failure.
Zimbabwe had a good side a decade back and not anymore, i cannot find a good bowler in the side and they are undergoing political problems for a very long time and it is not going to end anytime soon as the world police is not interested in countries without any wealth  Wink Grin .  In the last match they could have won the match if weather was in their favor and if they could have scored some quick runs, their captain needs to take aggressive positions if they want to win and since they are lacking confidence they want to contain the match rather than winning.

Zimbabwe was always dependent on the white population for its cricket players, since the sport is not much popular among the blacks. And the white population there declined from 296,000 (in 1975) to 28,000 (as per 2012 Census). The current population may be even lower. Now you can't expect 28,000 people to form a cricket team and beat teams such as India and Pakistan, who have populations in excess of 1 billion and 100 million respectively. The new president (Emmerson Mnangagwa) has promised to bring back the white farmers, but I don't think that anyone will return to that country now.
4976  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: February 03, 2020, 03:05:37 AM
Now time is changing as once Indian batting was best for them and bowlers face many problems now bowlers doing extra ordinary job and batting have some serious problems but these can handle in next few series as many youngsters coming hopefully they will able to handle this all.
As a team India is performing really well, before the series i did not expect India to win every match as i was expecting them to loose a couple and sadly New Zealand was not able to cross the winning run twice and end up loosing the super over and those two matches could have been easily won by New Zealand if they played a logical game of taking singles and not going for the big hit all the time. India rested some of their players after winning the series and still New Zealand was not able to find a win Undecided.

New Zealand can blame themselves. During the 3rd match, they needed 2 runs from the last 4 balls and during the 4th match they needed 3 runs from 4 balls (with plenty of wickets to spare). From that position, they went on to lose the match. I can understand if it happens once. But twice? Common.. you need to find an excuse other than injury for this sham. The Kiwis have been performing exceptionally well till then. Their performance during the CWC 2019 was top notch. But all the reputation that was earned till then was lost as a result of their poor performance in the T20 series.
4977  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Super League (ISL) Football match updates, predictions and discussions on: February 03, 2020, 02:57:19 AM
I follow ISL results sometimes, because player from my country - Nerijus Valskis plays there. I see that he is top scorer now and it's really surprising. I'm happy for his performance, but fact that he scores so many goals shows that level of football in this league isn't very high. He only had better seasons playing in Lithuania and our league is really weak. He isn't always called for our national team - one of the worst teams in Europe :/.
But it's good to see football development here. Just year or two ago I didn't even know that football at professional level exist in India. It will took some time to reach high level. Who knows, maybe one day we will see India playing in World Cup...

Valskis is performing really well in this edition of the Indian Super League. His team (Chennaiyin FC) is regarded as one of the weakest in the league. But due to his performance they have now managed to get a position among the top half in the points table. He singlehandedly made the difference for Chennaiyin. Right now, he is the top scorer of the tournament, with 12 goals from 14 matches. Bartholomew Ogbeche is currently chasing him, with 11 goals from 15 matches.
4978  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Exchanges closed down in 2019! on: February 01, 2020, 07:32:08 AM
I lost around $500 worth of cryptocurrency when Cryptopia closed down in 2019. Actually they had given a small window to withdraw the holdings. I transferred my BTC to other wallets, but kept the altcoins in the exchange wallet. And when the exchange shut down unexpectedly, I lost access to my altcoin holdings (mostly Litecoin and a few tokens).
4979  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: February 01, 2020, 07:25:02 AM
India may bring back Rohit Sharma back as the opener back and replace with Samson if they would like to go for the whitewash. If Rohit come back this give India a platform of good opening partnership and also if Rohit stays on the pitch he would take India 200 par with his batting ability. It depends if India would like to continue with same side or make some changes back again to clinch 5-0 series for them.

There have been a lot of hue and cry regarding Samson. I agree that the selectors were not fair to him earlier. He was dropped after just one opportunity. But during the 4th match, he went out as the opener and lost his wicket to a careless shot. I would say that he wasted a golden opportunity. His last chance may come during the 5th T20 match. If he fails to perform, then he only has himself to blame.
4980  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is BCH, BSV more profitable than Ethereum? on: February 01, 2020, 07:17:08 AM
Cant say about BCH but BSV is totally an artificial pump, its best to stay away from this since many exchnages already removed that from there list. Eth is solid alt coin and is going good, if you are long term investor then you must buy and hold eth. It has the potential to cross 1000$.

Absolutely agree with this. BSV is no longer traded in the major exchanges, and only a few minor exchanges are trading this coin. And that makes it easier for Craig Wright and Calvin Ayre to create a a pump, so that they can dump their BSV holdings. I am willing to take a more lenient stance regarding BCH, since it is having much wider adoption and acceptability when compared to Bitcoin SV.
