4981  Economy / Collectibles / Re: in progress, acrylic double card holder for ColdKey halving edition on: July 18, 2020, 05:02:22 AM
reserved for updates.

1st update - the black piece will go edge to edge vs floating border as shown.

Will be quite impressed with all this. I created a thread serval years ago similarly but for Kialaras. I called around for quotes and it was one hell of a project and expensive.

Curious did you look in to using magnets over screws at all ?
4982  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Stolen / missing items overview on: July 17, 2020, 10:00:14 PM
If my coins that were stolen pop up on eBay or somewhere else. I don't know exactly how I would prove I owned them besides extremely old photos that might be on my photobucket. Which I don't think they are anymore since photobucket changed.

Unless they would accept the PMs between me the buyer and the escrow.

You could easily prove you owned the coins with the DMs. I don't think there is any way to alter old messages. However the likelihood that you ever get the coins back is basically zero. There are so many variables to this situation that could work against you ( police wont care to look in to it, ebay wont care or wont since they dont technically allow crypto sales, seller would prob use a newbie account with fake info, etc etc)
4983  Economy / Reputation / Re: nullius - Where are they now? on: July 17, 2020, 08:36:51 AM
He always struck me as a well-read, but unimpressive 14 year old.

So maybe nullius is grounded and lost his internet privileges

Cheesy  Gave me a legit lol.  I remember when I would get grounded from AOL. Was brutal! I think Tman got grounded as well, only logical answer to these mysteries.

Despite being a bit mixed up with drama at times, it's nice to have a legit Mr Robot like him around. I think it's fair to say he's obviously one of the most talented programmers/pc techs on the forum and with so many morons spewing nonsense here (like w/all forums) it's good to have experts like him around to help balance that out. Can live with some drama..I would love it if Nick Szabo, arguably the most brilliant mind in crypto, was active here, despite the fact that Nullius being "over the top" pales in comparison to Szabo.  Just my 2 satoshis.
4984  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Limited Edition Print - Bitcoin Above All on: July 17, 2020, 07:26:21 AM
The design looks elegant, I liked the idea, and the choice of colors and their reflection inspired the Japanese anime in the 1990s, like Girls und Panzer.

What I didn't understand is why is there a mouse at the bottom of the image? I thought it was an indication of corruption, but the content of the photo did not show wasted foods or such details.

Looks like rats to me...and one is eating the Fiat money. Wink

Fun Fact -Pablo Escobar once said that he estimated about 10% of his money was lost each year in large part due to rats eating it.  10% of his gross income would be something near 2.1 billion a year.  Moral of the story, rats can't eat bitcoin  Smiley

btw- cool design OP.
4985  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Stolen / missing items overview on: July 17, 2020, 12:24:58 AM
Curious if anyone who's had items stolen via the mail, if any of them were sent using registered USPS? There's a never ending supply of thieves working for all mail systems, and esp with covid it gives them such a leg up to do a lot more damage.  If you really care about what you're sending in the U.S., send it registered only ( I'm assuming no one has had these messed with)
4986  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN] 3rd Halving Coldkey - Gold/Silver/Copper variants - Art by Lucho Poletti on: July 17, 2020, 12:10:08 AM
I wonder if a case/holder exists that could hold both, so I don't have to worry about separating them by accident whilst displayed.

hat tip to ChiBitCTy for finding these:

https://www.ultrapro.com/product_info.php?products_id=8740

It would be nice to find a case without such a gap in the middle, but I don't think that's going to be possible if you want a nice hard plastic with out any contaminants that could fuck up the cards ( I'm on the hunt though)

Boys involved with these cards, yoggy...well done! These things are amazing.  ColdKey continues to kill it with each release!
4987  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best Exchange for day trade? on: July 15, 2020, 02:51:48 PM
From what I've used it seems like Binance has the best trading platform.  Binance kind of reminds me of TD Ameritrade, which I use for trading in the traditional markets.  I also think trading with Gemini is pretty solid.
4988  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the US economy suddenly recovering? on: July 15, 2020, 02:49:08 PM
I don't think the economy is actually recovering I think however that the stock market is painting a bit of a false positive as it's been roaring back since it drastically fell in March/April. I think when quarter two reports come out, and we realize how many businesses are truly struggling or have gone out of business all together.
4989  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN TRUST PROBLEMS: Bitcoin Investers will want to know about this risk... on: July 15, 2020, 02:41:48 PM
I spent over a year studying bitcoin and cryptocurrency before ever buying. I think I'm to the extreme in the case being a financial advisor, but as for anything, you should always know the risks before "investing".  Bitcoin is not inherently an investment however either.  As for bitcoin being "too risky"..not the case.
4990  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever lost access to your Bitcoins? on: July 15, 2020, 02:37:01 PM
I've luckily never lost access to any of my bitcoin or cryptocurrency coins at all for that matter, but I have "lost" funds in to the great abyss of bitcoin before.  When I was new to bitcoin I did send coins to the wrong address, and lost them for good. I just looked back and that equals about $2,000 worth of bitcoin today.  Was much less then lol.
4991  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance compared to other Crypto Exchange. on: July 14, 2020, 03:06:23 PM
I'm a big fan of Binance as well and they certainly have done a good job with setting up a platform thats intuitive, easy to use, and has a lot of different options.  It kind of reminds me of my TD Ameritrade Account which I think is the best traditional exchange platform out there.  Definitely my favorite platform for trading.
4992  Economy / Economics / Re: The Covid19 Curve is Flattening on: July 14, 2020, 03:00:55 PM
It would flatten more so in the U.S. if people would just start wearing their damn masks and practice social distancing. Nobody likes to wear these masks or to be "told what to do".  I don't like living this way either.  Just go with what science says, it's that simple.
4993  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin soon will become a boring investment? on: July 14, 2020, 02:50:27 PM
I think your statement is filled with a bunch of conjecture.  I don't think "many" people have bitcoin at all and I sure don't think that many have half of their portfolio invested inside bitcoin.  That would be foolish, especially considering bitcoin is not an investment inherently.
4994  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tell me a reason why I should use online wallet. on: July 14, 2020, 02:48:39 PM
There's nothing wrong with using an online wallet, or "hot wallet" every once in a while or keeping a little bit of coins in your online/hot wallet.  Sometimes it's necessary to us to transfer funds from a paper wallet as well.
4995  Economy / Economics / Re: Possible solution for economic go-slow on: July 13, 2020, 03:00:57 PM
I think for one people need to start listening to science and learning how to social distance as well as wear a mask.  I'm sick of wearing a mask the same as everyone else, but I don't deny science and no one else should either.  We see the effect it's had with states ( basing this off the U.S.) that have followed the scientific guidelines.. this would be a start.
4996  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocoinopoly - Do you consider it a good idea? on: July 13, 2020, 02:57:14 PM
I think this is actually a pretty cool idea/concept.  I have seen quite a few games out there made stemming from bitcoin/cryptocurrency artists.. I am surprised to just see this popping up.  Good luck with things if you do decide to bring it to life.
4997  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Putting Bitcoin on forex on: July 13, 2020, 02:55:21 PM
I completely agree. In this case, you need to choose the right broker.
I have been working with this broker for two years and have not lost anything.
https://finex.co.id/

This is a load of bullshit and nothing more than an advertisement.  There is no such thing as a broker who can guarantee profits.  There's no such thing in the "real world" of trading, US stock markets etc, and there sure as shit isn't in cryptocurrency trading.
4998  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does the police do if they seize bitcoin from criminals? on: July 13, 2020, 02:51:22 PM
Many criminals choose to use bitcoin for a billion reasons. I don't blame them. In fiat money, if police finds out that a drug dealer sells drugs, they arrest him and then his millions go to government.

If he had (let's say) 1000BTC what would police do? There is no law that says "Police can then take his private keys and move his coins to a government's address". If the police cannot do something with the money then they will leave them to his address. Will these coins get lost? I don't think so. When criminal gets fired from the jail (if he went) he will still have his fortune, right?

In 2013, silk road's owner had saved in bitcoin 400,000$ (by that time's price!!!).

I'm pretty sure they can seize your assets just the same as when someone gets arrested and prosecuted and they can force you to hand over your assets.  Now I guess whether they find it or not comes down to how well you've hid your bitcoin and if there is anything tracing bitcoin back to you ( when they go look for your assets by court order).
4999  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading using someone else's funds on: July 12, 2020, 09:31:36 PM
Well why the hell do you want to accept the loan if you are such a 'self proclaimed good trader' when you can easily trade with your own funds and grow them to trillions ( as you are a good trader). Why split profits when you can have it all ?
The answer to my question lies in the very fact that there is something shady about you (may be you want to lure some newbie to contact you for trading).
How come you be a good trader when you do not even know how to divide profits ( simple percentage math) ?

Exactly.  I would never recommend trading with others.  I don't care if they are your best friend or brother/sister.  Nothing in the world of trading is guaranteed.  You can be the best trader in the world and there's still no such thing as guaranteed profits.  Just trade on your own or learn how to if you don't know the ins and out's.
5000  Economy / Economics / Re: Biggest winner during COVID? on: July 12, 2020, 09:29:23 PM
I honestly don't buy in to the political or hoax aspect of this pandemic at all.  I am not one to dismiss conspiracy theories quickly, or deny them all together like many do , but there's hardly any proof or evidence this virus was man made or lab leaked. Until that's more clear, I think a lot of this is an unfortunate result, not planned or manipulated result but simply a result of chance.
