501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POT] PotCoin Launches Today 01/21 @ 4:20 on: May 21, 2014, 05:11:20 PM
Ultimately I think the most important thing for this coin to succeed in retail would be to have a coinbase type service to instantly exchange POT into fiat for merchants. I doubt coinbase will add POT to their service anytime soon so an alternative will need to be created.

You will continue to get the "sync with network...0 hours behind" message if you have any connections to wallets older than 1.2. There is nothing that can be done about that until the new chain is longer than the old.

Edit:
...or until you apply this patch and recompile: https://github.com/casinocoin/casinocoin/commit/6154ff7d304904ce47b3e27fdac54158494e84fc
...it forces disconnects of older wallets.
...or just compiling from the latest git works too Smiley

It's coming from one of these IP's: "74.202.114.162:34165 162.243.63.239 77.249.199.235:42214"
Don't know who. It would be best for them to get on the right chain. They have about 15 Mh/s
Let's not block them quite yet, until we give it a shot to contact them and get them onto our chain?!

start with  CMD use -reindex ?
Or use the casinocoin.conf to reindex=1

Found out who it is:  http://csc.e-pool.net:8840/static/

Edit:
LOL, they have a phone number listed...some one give them a call Smiley

Amsterdam , The Netherlands
Phone: +31 (063) 1049104
Email: epool.net@gmail.com

www.facebook.com/epoolnet

I am in the Netherlands, so I will do.

Edit: Talked to him and he is updating within half an hour. He wil make a reply here, as he said.

Wow, thanks veertje!

This block explorer is on the right chain:

http://casinocoin.mooo.com/chains

Edit:
So is:

http://explorer.casinoco.in
http://altexplorer.net/chain/CasinoCoin

Looks like their all on the right chain now.

I am on block 446735 so doesn't seem all right yet! All of them are not right.

Your right! I just realized that there is a p2pool node on the wrong chain. P2Pool is finding blocks in both :/

http://xpool.net:8840/    is on the right chain...don't know who the node is that is on the wrong one but it wont affect miners on http://xpool.net:8840/
All miners will get block rewards for both chains but obviously the old chain will go away eventually.
Is there any way to isolate the node on the old chain?
(figure out where and who is running it)

coinwarz.com is on the v1.2 blockchain as well.

Edit: Please change xpool.net:8840 to 0% in the OP please.

If we can get some tweets out to big vern cause leah is clueless.

Send a message again and say that casinocoin is already listed, until it's understood Grin

I have no twitter... (I also have send a message to Cryptsy that they have to contact you)

I am aware of these pools:

http://xpool.net:8840/static/miners.html
http://csc.dedicatedpool.com/index.php?page=dashboard (don't know if active)
http://p2pool.name:8840/static/
https://bitraise.me/

That first pool is the best Wink

Edit:
Has anyone successfully compiled on Ubuntu from here: https://github.com/casinocoin/casinocoin
I will update xpool.net:8840 with this version if it's ready to go...or should I wait?

Block 445000 is almost there. 8 hours to go or so. Is the wallet 1.2 ready? Or isn't it needed yet and will the walletupdate come later on?

Perhaps a bit longer as KGW keeps getting exploited. Have been stuck on block 444429 for a couple of hours. Diff not too bad at 106 so it shouldn't take too long to solve.

Incredible progress guys...I go away for a little while and see some great stuff being done Smiley

Looks like all the right pieces are in place.

I see a newish commit for Sandor's cpuminer allows you to reference Gridseeds by serial rather than COM assignment. How do you find out the serial for each Gridseed? Thanks in advance.

I think serial numbers may only be supported in Linux. Please correct me if im wrong Smiley

I don't know how merged mining would work but that is a separate deal than fixing the difficulty calculation. Was thinking the at the hashrate from LTC could protect the coin simply due to the sheer size.

Sounded like a good idea but how have the coins fared that have merged mining with BTC? I really don't know enough about it to comment. I recall that the LTC dev suggested that DOGE change their coin to be merge mined with them but they scoffed at the idea.

What is everyones thought on merged mining as well?
Mine say ltc along side CSC. It incentives people to mine for both as CSC is a very big money maker for some, and could bring some new people into the picture who will hold and gamble with the coins.

Wow, there's a thought! I like...

Also, we solved the block! Back in business for now Smiley

See the low diff (0) for a while after...congrats to the miners. Well deserved:

The miners who are on this coin when the diff breaks will get a bunch of really low diff blocks so there's some incentive for them.

I'm afraid that without the fix the blockchain could get stuck again so I'm kind of torn between breaking the hold (by solving the block) or letting it be until we can get it fixed. Although the best thing for the coin would be to break this hold ASAP so we can get transactions flowing again.
