Only odds I like in the early games are the Bengals. Don't get why they are priced that high, when their first encounter with the Browns was already close-ish. Browns are no worldbeaters and Bengals were able to keep all games close apart from the Ravens one, which is ok. They should have won @Colts last week too, but a missed field goal and some rookie mistakes from Burrow made them come up short again. This could happen today again, but these odds are good imo.

Patriots O20.5pts + C.Newton Anytime score - Patriots are 2-3, shockingly losing to Denver last week. Cam had a pretty rough game himself with two interceptions, but i just don't trust 49ers this year with so many players injured, you don't know what you will get from them.

I wouldn't trust the Patriots atm as well, but this is more relevant for ML than your over team totals bet. But I might jump on 49ers ML later, since this NE O-Line is very suspect to say the least and Cam is a bit shaky, if not well protected. 49ers (and especially their defense) did well last week against the Rams, so 2.40+ for them looks some value. Lets make it 22-21 for SF and Cam rushing one in Wink

Also playing the overs in TEN-PIT and LV-TB games, because I will watch these on NFL gamepass, lol.

I hope that everyone is aware that both finals start one hour earlier today for those who switched back to standard time last night Smiley

And I hope you also consider that @Globb0 and start your stream in ~30min. Good luck everyone on the tables and with the lottery.
503  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: October 25, 2020, 01:55:15 PM
~snip~

Yes, this is a big problem for Bundesliga imo, but something that can be witnessed in all major leagues in the last decade. Juve won 9 in a row, in Ligue1 you have PSG being super dominant in the last years, in La Liga it's always either Barca or Real; only Premier League sees some variety with 5 different champions in the last 10 years. The "problem" is the Champions League, where you can make tons of money, if you are going deep, which most of these teams do on a regular basis. It's like in society, the rich are getting richer and the rest is struggling more and more. Bayern is probably the most dominant in their respective league, although Paris is getting close.

I would still like to see a "UEFA Super League", where all these dominating teams can do their thing and make the domestic leagues more interesting again. It can still be with relegation, so if Bayern does bad in USL, they get relegated to Bundesliga and the Champion of Bundesliga takes their place. But would Bundesliga/Serie A/La Liga etc. be happy with their best teams leaving the competition ? Surely not. And would Bayern ever leave the Bundesliga voluntarily ? No way.

But it's not always about who wins the title, there are other interesting things as well to follow, like CL spots, EL spots, relegation and all the usual drama that happens on the weekends Wink

(...) and Hoffenheim should be have no problem in Bremen.
Dont know if Bremen can break Hoffenheim but i going for Hoffenheim in this case.

Don't forget that Hoffenheim is still Kramaric-less, which is always a big blow for them. Bremen had their own Corona issues this week, but they seem to be more stable this season overall. Looks very draw-ish game to me.

I will go against Gladbach today, but only 1X for Mainz.

This was a good bet imo, though it lost in the end. Mainz could have easily made it 3-1, but they are still lacking a bit of confidence and weren't able to close it out. Next up is @Augsburg for them and odds for X2 look good. They will not lose that one Smiley

Thanks for all the nice wishes guys (not enough merit as always), it's really exciting to go into a Sunday with still realistic chances to get something out of it. If I do actually win (or co-win), I will share parts of it with you of course and sponsor some prize for the best result(s) in here for next weeks MM for the users who are in "my" table already (no newbies). So keep your fingers crossed Cheesy

(...) they are pretty much serious in developing their own niche in the gambling community as they are quite different from the usual sportsbooks that we have here.

It's a niche in regards to crypto, but you already have fiat betting exchanges and they are no niche Wink Loads of people like to gamble there, but they are geo-blocked for a lot or them. The biggest betting exchange in the world is creating turnover even the biggest bookmakers in the world can only dream of. And the revenue is risk-free for them because of the commission model they are using.

The big advantage of exchanges is the trading aspect, which also creates the majority of turnover. You can go back and forth with your bets (mostly inplay), hedge your bets easily, create profit positions for all possible outcomes etc. and just pay 1% commission on your net profit.

I feel a bit uncomfortable posting this, but I always do at "halftime" to see how we are doing, so here it is:

I somehow don't want to win this, because "my dumbest friend football-wise" would tease me till eternity with how he was able to win the MM on his first try, while I was failing week in week out. Well, lets see, how the games end tomorrow, you can start your jinxing Wink
507  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: October 24, 2020, 09:53:15 PM
I hope the giants get the #1 pick and trade it for multi picks, they have so many holes to fill, where to start?

Thats what they should have done in this years draft already; instead they drafted the supposedly most NFL-ready OT, but the one with the lowest upside at #4, when this draft was stacked with good OT's. Thomas was playing out of position at LT for the first games, but as you said he also got manhandled at RT. They should have just traded down and take any of the OT's still available (Thomas, Wills, Becton, Wirfs) - would have made no difference and Thomas has always been a reach at 4 imo.

And while we are at it, I also don't understand how the Lions (or any other team) can select a CB at #3, because this is a wasted pick no matter how good that guy might be. If I was a NFL GM, I would always go O-Line or D-Line with my high picks. Some stud MLB, like Kuechly, is fine as well and QB of course, if you need one. If you have a very good O-Line/D-Line, you can get away with a lot of mediocrity on the other positions imo.

If you have outstanding CB's, safeties, ILB/OLB thats nice, but won't help you, if your D-Line can't pressure the QB and is not able to stop the run. All CB's can cover WR's only for so long, so if you give the QB too many time, even a very good CB will look poor. If you have a very good D-Line otoh, you give the QB only few time and don't need superstars at CB/Safety.

With a good O-Line you can then protect your QB very well, give him time to scan the field and even not-so-good WR's can get open. If they dominate the LOS, they will also create lanes for your RB, who then himself doesn't need to be the next Barry Sanders to make noise.
508  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: October 24, 2020, 12:43:53 PM
Ingolstadt vs mainz 05 first half 0:0

In which league does this match take place ?

Leipzig , Bayern Munich , Gladbach and laters in the evening Dortmund should be win there games normaly, fingers crossed .

I will go against Gladbach today, but only 1X for Mainz. I wrote some things about them the other week and in last home game against Leverkusen they were doing ok-ish, although pretty pathetic upfront. But at least they only lost that one 0-1, which is close on paper Wink All in all I still think they have the quality to be a middle of the pack team in Bundesliga, while Gladbach is still looking for some form themselves - they weren't too convincing yet imo. Getting a point in Milan mid-week was a very good result, but I expect them to come out flat today and not be super sharp. Coach Rose will rotate a bit and give a rest to Plea, Thuram, Bensebaini, Neuhaus, Hofmann, so very good opportunity for Mainz to get their first points of the season.

Here are the entries to fame and financial freedom for this week Grin

Not a lot of of pink/red on the right side, which means that a lot of possible outcomes were picked already although we are still missing the picks from some guys. Dortmund, Inter, Leipzig and ManCity seem to be the locks of the weekend, but you never know Wink

These Flamengo games are really annoying all the time, but at least we don't have to deal with Valencia, Real Sociedad, Villareal etc. this week. But Betis is in the mix again of course^^

@buwaytress

Did you notice you have ManCity twice in your picks ? Cheesy And the funny thing: I copied the games from your post and have ManCity - Chelsea and West Ham - ManCity as well, lol.
511  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: MLB - Major League Baseball- Betting Thread on: October 22, 2020, 12:50:12 PM
3b- I do not agree with you here. Teams really aren't evenly matched.  There are are big differences in the games best players and the games majority. Pitching isn't the only skill position and there is absolutely no easy position to play in baseball.  Baseball is fucking hard. VERY hard.  Catcher, 1st base, short stop and center field are the other very difficult positions to be really good at.  They each take a very different type of skill.

Yes, probably. I never played Baseball, but by just following/watching the games, I always thought, well, it's not that hard and something that could be learned quite easily (compared to other things/sports); outside of the pitching. Since you played Baseball, what is so hard in mastering this game in the different positions, what are the obstacles ?

Most sports look easy, when you see them on TV....and once you try one of them on your own, you wonder why you are not able to be as good as those pros on TV. The throwing, catching, being fast with the transition and the tactics in Baseball I would still regard as rather easy to learn/improve/master. The batting is hard, especially with all those different pitchers, but what else is there ?

I played some Basketball in my younger years and this is really difficult imo. Learning the right throwing technique, being a good dribbler, having the vision, playing good defense etc. is hard. And it's a super physical sport on top, where I also missed some height in the end Grin In Baseball I would think, ok, put me in as left/right fielder, give me good arm strength and precision and it might not get noticed, that I am an absolute donkey in his first game Tongue I know it's not that easy.....

Thank you for the generous offer and the compliment, but I have to decline, since I don't want any VIP (very intelligent person) treatment Grin If there was a "Suckers Final Table", I would maybe accept and play beat you heads up.

For Grand Final there are no odds, but I saw one market in an underground betting site for the small final:

@ty: I followed your lunatic click.

I actually went another route and called the dumbest friend I have football-wise and let him do the picks for me. I will propose to draw the lottery 30 mins before the start of the big games. OK?

Yes, sure, though I am not involved, so don't really have a say. But if you see no one opposing this idea, just do it at that time, I will watch Smiley

Here are the prizes I calculated on top of the BIG BTC ticket, hope this is correct.

The Chips Prizes for Grand Final

Place  Sponsored by SwC   From Chips Pool
____________________________________________
    1          25,000          13,500
    2          15,000            8,100
    3          10,000            5,400

The prizes for small final will be 5,000/3,000/2,000 for the Top3 as always.

When everything is said and done (and sent^^) 237,000 chips were paid out in total in this series.

Series 1: 310,000
Series 2: 224,000
Series 3: 257,600

15.38 players joined the tournaments on average in this series. We "lost" four regular players (figmentofmyass, SyGambler, BitcoinGirlClub, myself) from the series before and two new (seek3r, famososMuertos) joined for this series. I might give my comeback for a possible 5th series and figment too I guess. That would make it around ~19 regular players, which is a good number to get two tables full every Sunday.
515  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: October 20, 2020, 08:51:02 AM
I dont think the giants give up on jones just yet.

I don't think so too and it wouldn't be the right thing to do if I am being honest. It's just me being done with watching this team (lose) and what do you do then ? You blame the QB Grin But I also see no progress with Jones. That line is bad, although they are "working" on it for years already spending draft picks and money, but Jones still does a lot of rookie mistakes and makes bad decisions, which is not the lines fault. The line forces him into these situations, but just throw the damn ball away, if there is no receiver open Roll Eyes

It's lacking talent in all areas though. Secondary, LB's and D-Line are very mediocre, the WR corps is solid, but nothing special. At TE and RB there is some talent, which doesn't get to show because of Jones/line. And thats to blame on the GM then and the coaching afterwards. Giants are searching for a good/fitting coach for ages and if you don't have some stability on that position, you will always start from scratch at some point.

My favourite soccer team is in the same position as the Giants. They turned every stone, changed all personnel, new managers, new coaches and they keep on struggling and don't know what more to do to be successful again. And I don't know as well, you can just keep on grinding and hope that everything will fall into place sooner or later. I think I would start a new process once more and look for a new GM.....
516  Economy / Gambling / Re: #4 Bitcointalk Poker Series @ SwC Poker (0.06 BTC, BIG BTC Ticket by SwC) on: October 19, 2020, 10:14:12 PM
Yes I will be up for that (with a bit of help as to the how)

Cool Smiley

Hhampuz was using random.org for series 3 and you might want to use that one too. Just put min 1 and max 1670 and start to generate:

Source: https://www.random.org/

In this example seek3r would have won (congratulations Grin) and all his other tickets are voided afterwards (#0593 - #0694). So if you generate f.e. 611 next, you check the ticket numbers list and would have to generate a new number for 2nd prize, until a non-void number shows up. You need 3 non-void numbers in total as there are 3 prizes.
517  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Red Cards in Football and what they do to the odds and the outcome on: October 19, 2020, 08:55:35 PM
This weekend saw some more to cheer on, if you are a fan of hard tackles and unsportsmanlike conducts Grin

England

Everton - Liverpool
Red Card: Everon in 90th minute, score 2-2
Final score: 2-2

Red card came late, so no impact.

Crystal Palace - Brighton
Red Card: Brighton in 93rd minute, score 1-1
Final Score: 1-1

Same here.

Spain

Granada - Sevilla
Red Card: Sevilla in 45th minute (injury time of first half), score 0-0
Final score: 1-0

Granada took advantage and scored the winning goal in 82nd minute. Some lay of Granada and frequent hedging would have worked, but this is very difficult to get right.

Eibar - Osasuna
Red Card: Osasuna in 88th minute, score 0-0
Final score: 0-0

Again a late red card with too few time left to have any impact.

Villareal - Valencia
Red Card: Villareal in 92nd minute, score 2-1
Final score: 2-1

And another one....

Italy

Crotone - Juventus
Red card: Juventus in 60th minute, score 1-1
Final score: 1-1

As one could expect, Juve was able to defend the score, but weren't able to score themselves again, also being without CR7. This is normally a spot, where most punters would feel good going on the red-carded team: Huge favourite and a not too early red card. Laying next goal Crotone would have been costly I guess, but would have won, so I am making this green.

Germany

Bielefeld - Bayern
Red Card: Bayern in 76th minute, score 1-4
Final score: 1-4

Game was already decided when the red card came and these games are probably pretty uninteresting to bet on then. Even with 8 players Bayern is still better than Bielefeld Cheesy

There were some more red cards this weekend, but only 1 goal was scored after it. In general there are rather few red cards or they often come very late, so hard to get some bigger sample size. I should maybe add FRA1, there have been loads of red cards this season, 32 already this season Shocked
518  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: October 19, 2020, 07:21:49 PM
Yes the giants finally won lol.

I wouldn't say Giants won, but Washington lost Cheesy A 4th quarter fumble recovery TD by the Giants and then WAS going for 2pts with 36sec left, which the Giants defended well tbf, although I think Allen could have run it in himself, but anyway. I'd rather have a high draft pick (Lawrence ?) than winning a game here and there, since this team is just bad and they are going nowhere with Jones at QB (and Gettleman as GM). But in the end it would need picks 1-10 to make this team somewhat competitive again in 2-3 years Roll Eyes

Well we saw what Brady and that Tampa D did to Rodgers, shut them down...

Everything looked good for GB until Rodgers threw these back-to-back INT's. From then on, it was all Bucs. And this happens very often in NFL, sometimes even just the half-time is enough. It's pretty interesting to watch from a psychological point of view, since I don't know any sports (maybe Darts), where a single event can turn a game upside down. And it's even more unlikely in a team sport compared to something like Tennis, where you see players implode every now and then as well; but it's no single point then, it evolves over a period of time, which you can spot/feel with experience. In NFL it can be that ONE play and everything changes, amazing.

Ouch!  I didn't make any predictions this week, but all that talk about the Steelers going 5-0 for the first time since the Bradshaw days seemed to drive them.  Cleveland is looking good this year, which is nice to see.

Yes, poor pick. But better to lose a bet 7-38 than 35-38 with a FG while the clock expires. Browns were super bad yesterday, but the Steelers defense was just out of this world. Seemed like they always already knew upfront what CLE wanted to do. Mayfield was benched, OBJ took off his shoes already mid 4th quarter and Steelers gave some snaps to Rudolph as well. Was a better preseason game for good parts Grin
519  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: October 19, 2020, 10:30:48 AM
Another MM to forget, so here are just the overall stats:

rdbase, JanpriX and mitchr4 took the win in here and share 33.33 fame points each.

Since there is always some discussion about draws, we had 5 of them this weekend and 4 of those came from England Grin These two 3-3's shouldn't have hapened though. In Chelsea game you could say, ok shit happens, but Tottenham was just insane. Other than that there weren't really super huge upsets and still most of us did bad and even our winners are 3 behind this weeks winners, who have 11 correct ones.

I actually had my best result in MM, when I just didn't think about the games and clicked like a lunatic on the odds I liked. So maybe this is a modus operandi I should give a try again Cheesy

The rankings after 8/8 tournaments. Gratz to everyone who made it into the Grand Final Wink

For this series, we have two special awards given out by a jury that consists of just me:

Most Improved Player

This award goes to jayce/NoobHere Cool You really had great results this series and this is no fluke as the results especially in the last 3 tourneys show. You also won your first tournament ever and jumped quite some places in the Money Finishes list. Well done Smiley

Most Valuable Player

This award goes to efialtis/youcantwin Cool Without you, this series wouldn't be possible, but this is not the only reason you get this award. You get it, because you add so much fun to this series with your big mouth....Grand Final missed again, although you were a lock for this right from the start. I think without a wildcard you will never get there Grin

I have also updated the stat sheets, where everyone can have a look, if interested. We still have two players (morvillz7z & Betwrong), who never missed a tournament, thats stamina and dedication Cool Betwrong now has a little cushion on Obaming in point finishes, who himself is leading the pack in money finishes. Murat still has the best average finishing position and I doubt any of the regular players can take his place in the future, unless he decides to join a tournament again in the future Cheesy

@Steamtyme

I have slightly different numbers for the lottery (or the updated sheet has).

123 entries and 12 donations (you missed the one from @Hhampuz yesterday), which leads to these numbers:

1670 tickets were given out in total (440 via points, 1230 via just entering tournaments), and these are the numbers for all the players:

Improved: #0001 - #0114
Iv4n: #0115 - #0236
jayce:  #0237 - #0358
arallmuus: #0359 - #0476
Betwrong: #0477 - #0592
seek3r: #0593 - #0694
morvillz7z: #0695 - #0803
bitmutiny: #0804 - #0880
kolloh: #0881 - #0975
SteamTyme: #0976 - #1068
webtricks: #1069 - #1168
efialtis: #1169 - #1244
Hhampuz: #1245 - #1330
1r0n1c: #1331 - #1415
Globb0: #1416 - #1508
famososMuertos: #1509 - #1559
Trofo: #1560 - 1639
figmentofmyass: #1640 - #1650
yahoo62278: #1651 - #1670

Please everyone check your numbers and see if everything is correct.

If @Hhampuz is ok with handing the draw over and everyone else has nothing against it, I thought it would be cool, if @Globb0 could do the lottery draw live in his stream, maybe shortly before the Grand Final next Sunday. Only of course, if you are fine with taking this huge responsibility as well Globb0 Grin

Good luck to all players for the Finals and see you maybe for a 5th series in the future Smiley
