I would like to know what community thinks about this:
"Start New Topic" in Bitcoin Forum > Other > Alternate cryptocurrencies > Announcements (Altcoins)
is available only to users having 200 posts and more.
I guess bitcointalk can apply this rule in 3 minutes, but think about consequences.
To lunch new coin, dev will have to sacrifice his reputation (or make 200 posts we all can read).
Lets see if these 5-6 devs making lunches everyday can handle this...
Mixed feelings about this. On one hand, I certainly wouldn't mind seeing less coins pumped out, and for the ones being released, more high quality coins. But at the same time, I'd probably be against this idea. The reason being, I don't think it'd really help. First off, some coins probably would go to a competing forum for alt coin announcements. And some real devs would suffer because they couldn't make an announcement until that 200 post requirement. But that's not the real problem. I think it we'd simply get a sockpuppet problem instead. Devs would build up accounts, or hire people to make accounts, just to get to whatever requirement is needed. I can see people here simply hiring themselves out as 'account makers'. Sure, I guess it could cut down a small bit on new coins, but I don't think there would be as much benefit as people expect. What we really need is more exchange accountability. If an exchange releases a coin with a hidden premine/shady code, they really need to be pay the consequences for not being more thorough -- when I say 'pay', I mean more bad publicity and therefore less profit for them. There is also the issue of investors not really being accountable enough either. Way too many people buy up coins as soon as they released on an exchange, even if they have tons of red flags, then complain they were scammed. Sure, there are way too many scams here, but in the end, greed seems to overwhelm people's good sense here too often. I gotta hand it to you, you've compiled a solid argument. I have to agree with you on all points. It will hurt more than it will help. The only solution is to ban announcements on this forum entirely. |

i did a couple of stints in jail for some pretty boneheaded things. Jail sucks, and it only seems cool in the movies. In reality, its a living hell.

The Expendables 3. It just sucks in every possible way. The dialogues are dry and predictable. if i had to describe it in a single word i would call it "cliche", because every single scene or dialogue is a cliche. |

Your post is littered with conjunctions and run on sentences, and offers nothing more than a few buzzwords in the way of intelligent subject matter. Also you named the coin Achilles, which is synonymous for "weakness". Kind of weird.

I agree with this. There has to be some sort of requirement/restriction that prevents scammers from being able to launch a coin so easily.
Almost ALL new coins that are being launched here are posted by a BRAND NEW account. It would instill more confidence in the community if the coins were being launched by people that are at least a bit more credible. Without restrictions, scammers can make a new coin, a new account, post it. And if it doesn't work out or if they decide to dump and run, they can do that without any consequences. If they have any high value/old account on bitcointalk, they go unpunished.
People gotta realize this forum isn't the center of the universe! Dozens of great coin got launch without a post here. If a team of quality dev that never use this forum wants to use it to promote their new coin? what them? fuck them? Name one great coin that was launched without an announcement post on this forum. /argument |

I voted for Monero because it has the best chance of achieving anonymity while maintaining the core principals of decentralization as outlined in the Satoshi Paper. Darkcoin would be the runner up, but most of its concepts are actually a de-evolution from a regulatory consensus algorithm to some type of hybrid centralized currency with a regulatory consensus algorithm bootstrapping the blockchain. I think that darkcoin is a bad idea, and the direction of the project is poor compared to monero.

When i dediced to quit doing methamphetamines, after the initial rehab period, i suffered a chronic problem of insomnia. I went and bought a bottle of melatonin. My insomnia was bad, so i would take 5 pills a night. I had some pretty vivid dreams. Some were cool and exciting, others were nightmares.
In one dream, i was trapped inside a japanese video game, navigating down a never ending spiral starecase killing demons with the sword of God. I finally reached the pit of hell, and no matter how many times i killed satan he kept re-spawning.
If you wanna have some lucid dreams give melatonin a try. The dreams might be a little happier with a lesser dosage. The higher dosage tends to cause some nightmares and stuff, like having your skin peeled off with a razor blade, or being shot and bleeding to death in a driveby.
I think the coolest dream i had on melatonin was that i was piloting a spaceship around the sun, marveling at the dancing flames as they flew by the cabin of the craft. it was so real, i could feel the sweat forming on my brow.

reading further, it sounds like this is a reduced memory version of Scrypt Jane. that is to say, the scratchpad size in bytes is halved. we'll see when it
