504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best ICO & Bounty 2018 (July) on: July 11, 2018, 05:10:11 PM
You did an amazing job with your review, starting from Ingot all the way down to Yumerium. These are all good project. Though Uchain is not on the list but Its a good thing since Uchain already raised their funds, if not i would have loved you to include them in your list of promising ICOs in 2018.
505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why ICOs will fail in 2018 on: July 11, 2018, 04:47:25 PM
This is the third quarter of the year and as you can see ICO are not failing as such, i did a random sampling where i took a study of 15 different ICOs and closely monitored and studied them up until the end of their token sale. My result, 11 out of the 15 met their soft-cap and 8 out of 9 met their hard-cap. My conclusion is thus, ICOs are not failing and this is simply because people still want to buy these coins cheap and sell high.

507  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Article] 10 Reasons Why Cryptocurrency Isn't Mainstream Yet on: July 06, 2018, 10:46:50 PM
Why Crypto Hasn't Gone Mainstream Yet

After a decade of trading and a market cap in hundreds of millions, it?s not yet clear ? will cryptocurrencies like Bit[Suspicious link removed]ver to the mainstream use?

One factor that could make or break a cryptocurrency is the ability to outgrow its FinTech image and put on some real economy clothes. It depends on consumers who decide whether or not to adopt cryptocurrencies as a payment method. Sadly, they are still vague when it comes trading fiat money for the cryptocurrency.

Also, some high-profile people are pessimistic on this idea of cryptocurrencies. A Nobel Prize-winning economist Robert Shiller (no pun intended) compared cryptocurrency with the Dutch tulip mania. On the other hand, Myron Scholes, another Nobel laureate, is taking part in the development of a low-volatility cryptocurrency Saga (SGA).

So, why cryptocurrencies aren?t mainstream yet?

1. Difficulties Spending
2. Poorly Understood
3. Volatility!
4. Legalities and other Regulations
5. Illegal Activities
6. Bitconnect!
7. Unregulated
8. Not a Commodity, not a Currency
9. Media Influence
10. Learning Curve

These are just the main outlines.

If interested, you can find the full article where each point is commented in detail here:
http://tokenlion.net/blog/post/117/10-reasons-why-cryptocurrency-isnt-mainstream-yet

What is your opinion on this? What are the reasons YOU think Cryptocurrency is not mainstream? If you had any crazy stories with crypto, let's hear it!
You practically said it all, but just to chip in a little bit, bitcoin will hardly be adopted in mainstream because its too volatile in nature, security concerns and poor awareness by the masses.
508  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin a Scam - No more on: July 06, 2018, 10:15:29 PM
With the adoption of cryptocurrency globally, i believe that those who regarded bitcoin as scam can see for themselves that it isnt. Bitcoin has to come to stay and the price will keep surging higher. I see no reason why as an individual you dont get yourself a bitcoin.
509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ATM machine for bitcoin reached kenya on: July 06, 2018, 08:24:49 PM
Good news, also heard a bitcoin ATM machine was lunched in Zimbabwe. I am truly happy hearing that Africans are adopting bitcoin and soon we will have more African countries with a bitcoin ATM machine
510  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This guy has lost 103 Bitcoins on: July 06, 2018, 03:47:16 PM
This guy has lost 103 bitcoins he mined back in 2011 and then lost his wallet dat file similar to what I have done but wow this guy must be gutted the amount of money he has lost compared to me

His Address    166BuLPWHUjqoqiYp5rGE3B5r5AmqgHpoL    Final Balance   103.20832384 BTC

So many people have the same problem and I wonder just how much Bitcoin is stuck not being able to be used Sad

He says "I used to mine Bitcoin back in 2011 and I lost my wallet.dat file (through several stupid moves on my part). It's got approx 103 BTC in it, anyone is welcome to it, I've given up trying."

The value of bitcoin as at that time was nothing compared to what we have now, if he truly lost his bitcoins i bet he didnt feel too bad about it, compared to how he his feeling today. The more the rise in value of BTC the more the pain he will feel. My advice is for him to move on and continue mining thats if he isnt already.
511  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How has Bitcoin changed your life for the better? (Those who bought <2017) on: July 06, 2018, 02:49:41 PM
I got to know about bitcoin in 2016, when a friend introduced me to faucet paying Android apps. I kept earning satoshis until i felt it could not amount to anything and gave up. Then early 2017, i was introduced to ponzi scheme and hyip programmes there my knowledge for bitcoin increased and i started buying and trading in bitcoin up until the ending 2017 - january 2018 i discovered i was a millionaire in my native currency. Bitcoin is my best digital asset
512  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Keep safe your Bitcoin from hacker on: July 06, 2018, 01:35:54 PM
Most bounty hunters and airdrop hunters usually loose their funds through hacks. They fill many forms not doing any checks on the project to know if its legit or not, in turn submit their details such as email addresses, private keys and some go as far as using their email passwords on phishing sites that collects and stores their data.

Please kindly do a background check on the projects you fill online and dont use same passwords for your email and your exchange where u keep your coins.

513  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency ATM installed in Zimbabwe on: July 06, 2018, 10:16:30 AM
That's some very interesting news from Africa, a lot persons do not think that Africa is a part of the bitcoin and crypto currency revolution, but Africa is very much in. Nice one from Zimbabwe..

Rightly said, a time will come when Africa as a continent will adopt blockchain technology fully and it will become part of our daily lifes. Zimbabwe as set the stone rolling, i see other African countries joining them.

515  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How dare ETH to scramble for position with BTC? on: July 06, 2018, 06:30:29 AM
probably because now Ethereum has a good growth and so Ethereum dare to fight position with Bitcoin especially at this time both also decreased but I am sure Bitcoin price will soon be back up and can be advantageous and to fight position with BTC is very difficult because of the first altcoin bitcoin present in the world
Just as you said, its the first altcoin "bitcoin" represents and thats just it. The utility of bitcoin based on the bitcoin Blockchain is very negligible compared to the utility of ethereum based blockchain. Ethereum came to show the crypto community that blockchain technology can do much more than what bitcoin signifies. That was why it was tagged "blockchain 2.0"
516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How dare ETH to scramble for position with BTC? on: July 05, 2018, 09:54:26 PM
Although BTC has a stable position in the blockchain, but don't overlook ETH development, maybe it will become the "second BTC". What is your point on this opinion?

http://blog.epay.com/c/how_dare_eth_to_scramble_for_position_with_btc

In my opinion, ETH will be number2 coin, not second BTC, bitcoin is bitcoin and no one can replace  bitcoiN as number  1 in cryptocurrency, although yes eth is also a good coin but it cant take the place of btc on top.

Sure bitcoin will always remain the first cryptocurrency, but ethereum to me will remain the best cryptocurrency. So many use cases, the smart contract ethereum offers alone has place it on a pedestal that bitcoin can never attain.
517  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency ATM installed in Zimbabwe on: July 05, 2018, 08:03:50 PM
Too bad my country does nothing to support bitcoin or any other cryptocurrencies, instead they are fighting against it, passing bills and using the central bank to curtail the activities of crypto related businesses  Cry Cry
