In this moment Dev is writing the excuse for failing to finish the client.

And at the same time, he just made a logo-contest ? Don't think so...
502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [EXO] official eXocoin LOGO thread on: June 10, 2014, 10:48:01 AM
We are ready for the voting. We put the logo suggestions here:

http://exocoin.org/images/new_logo/logo.php

We are going to start the vote in some hours or tomorrow on bitcointalk and on our website. So we have two seperate polls, lets see what the results will look like. All images are sized with 400px width. Images are not sorted or ranked.
There will be a second vote round with the best X logos.

Please tell me if we forgot to add a logo suggestion.

regards
eXocoin

Nice!

That will lead a great outcome
503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEM] NEMstake tokens are listed on Nxt asset exchange on: June 10, 2014, 10:44:15 AM
Seems like there's still roughly 600 Nemstakes available to be claimed, with the first 400 going to 3 kinds of people - NEM enthusiasts, NEM whales and NEM early dumpers.

I'm guessing not everyone follows this thread or the development of NEM on a daily basis, there's still probably a large amount of people who are on the stakeholders list and don't know about the NXT AE or have yet to claim them, but that's pure speculation on my part.

Are there any statistics available on the amount claimed vs. the amount sold on the NXT AE?  I would like to know how many people claimed a NEMstake just to hold.  The higher the number the better in my opinion.

The early dumpers are a good thing as it gets rid of people who aren't that interested in the development of NEM and just want to cash out, but several accounts holding more than 2 NEMstakes doesn't bode well for the NEM either.

The distribution model is one of the better things NEM has going for it.  I'm wondering if the NXT AE has ruined that to a certain extent. If it turns out that only a dozen or so guys are holding 10 plus stakes than this discourages new members joining this community.  That's not what anyone wants to see as far as the long term success of this coin is concerned.

Thoughts from anyone more informed than me would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

I think the NXT exchange was a good idea for latecomers, but i didnt like how the prices were pumped up so high, i also have read that some people were able to claim NEM stakes for only 40 NXT before being listed on the AE.
It was my fault for buying into the FUD about NEM and was advised by many that i paid too much for it at 15K, so i sold it thinking it was going to drop in value.
Now im going to have trouble buying one, i should have kept it.
no
Market decide the price, i don't see how it mean that price is somehow "pumped". People were able to participate NEM for 40NXT, when

Don't even get it why you invested at the first place?
Do you buy stocks or bonds and sell them instantly when price dips little bit?

I think this is the beginning of an impossible project, now wait a stable client, you all look down upon EXO, its price is not low, he will be a strong impact BTC and NXT!

 Huh Cannot follow

I decided to make a poll about mining Exo, because devs are busy now.

First question.

What should mining method?

1) POW

2) partly POS, partly POW (5-10% POS another 40-45% POW)

Second question.

When mining should start after launch?

1) 2 weeks.

2) 4 weeks.

3) after launch decentralized exchange.

Waiting your answers guys. Thx!

1. 1. Pow
2. 3. after AE

Where is v.0.6 Huh

Attention. This is a scam.

It surely look like one.

We need GPUMiner.Only CPUMiner will dump the exo to da hell.

If i understand correctly, mining EXO will differ from other coins.

yes it will be.but a cpu only coin is the worst case here.
botnet and cloud servers will kill the price quickly.thats unacceptable.

Devs could tell us more about mining and how the deal that problem, which you mentioned.

 the mining algo is defined , you can learn it from http://wiki.exocoin.org/index.php?title=Mining , http://wiki.exocoin.org/index.php?title=green_mining

 quote from here
"Features
   Green mining technology (saves procentually more energy the more hashpower you have [0-95%])
   Solo-mining only (no pools will be created for eXocoin and they are in fact a (slightly) disadvantage over solo-mining)
   CPU und GPU mining possible, GPU otimized
   mining time frame: 6 months, thereafter mining will stop completely
"

According to the mining progress , the dev team only completed CPU mining, so we want to ensure the GPU mining is ok before starting mining, or else CPU miner dump the coin seriously.

how many coins are produced through mining every 24hours?

"Mining will start automatically with block ID=2,000 and will stop automatically after block ID=28,000. So there will be 26,000 blocks * 10 min per block = 180 days = 6 months. ID=2,000 will be reached after nearly 14 days after launch.
The mining process will spread exactly 50,000,000 EXO - spreading will follow this ruleset:
if(blockId < 2000) return 0;
if(blockId < 2100) return 100;
if(blockId < 2500) return 250;
if(blockId < 3000) return 500;
if(blockId < 4000) return 900;
if(blockId < 7000) return 1400;
if(blockId < 12000) return 1700;
if(blockId < 15000) return 2000;
if(blockId < 19000) return 2200;
if(blockId < 22000) return 2300;
if(blockId < 28000) return 2390;
else return 0;"

So it is non linear and mining will heavily focus on last months.
28 days after launch would be better.
e.g. 4000 blockId as start point for mining would be awesome.  Grin

Agreed. Lets give early investor some breathing room and let prices settle. 4000  bloccks

If calculate how many EXOs are made per day after 4000, it aint much just ~ 126000

what's the reasonable price after launch guys?

 Grin
not less than x100 of your initial investment.  Grin

hope so. Grin

I'd say x5 - x10 is more reasonable and would already be pretty good.

5-10million market cap is'n that big, so i predict 5-40x

513  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEM] NEMstake tokens are listed on Nxt asset exchange on: June 09, 2014, 07:29:25 AM
Hi, im a shareholder (thank to being informed early in my job full of IT geeks Smiley) and im still not sure about selling any part of my NEMshare at asset exchange. Im not continually watching the scene (it seems to be a joke as i have written to utopianfuture in PM) and I have noticed many things.

First one, NXT network is empty. When i wake up i see below 10 transactions per hour in the whole network. I bet that the rise and fall of NXT price last days is just made by NEMshare buyers and sellers. Few days ago more people were buying NXT than selling (logic: you must buy NXT to buy NEM and nobody can sell because nobody has sold NEM in first phase of trading) = price went up. After that still more people were buying than selling, price still went up. Now the people who sold NEMs are selling so the price goes down and will keep plummeting for a while until they sell out. Im not gonna to sell now to suffer double loss.

Second one, NEM has a big chance to overtake many NXT advantages and positives. Many people may say that NXT has a big advantage of "being first", thats true but in history the most successfull projects were usually not the first developed/discovered ones but the first well managed or financed or distributed or popularized (...) ones. The NXT gap in popularity is markant. I bet that 40 altcoins below NXT market value at coinmarketcap have more transactions and use than NXT. Now one transaction at NXT costs ridiculously high price and the price cointains almost the expectations based on technical aspects of NXT, not economical.
Technically is NXT good, no doubts. However i think NEM has a big chance to be a VHS vs beta NXT.

And the last one, did someone of common people not interested in crypto-scene ever hear about NXT? NEM? Nope. These projects are still equal comparing them from this side. The startline is still open for all "BTC 2.0" projects and no one did cross it for more than 1 micrometer. Remember doge, why it was successfull? Because the comunity. No matter how big shitcoin technically it was. Why it shades off now? Because the lack of technical innovation and sense.

Just 10 transactions in one hour  Huh are sure ?, cosī that aint much.
514  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread on: June 08, 2014, 10:28:13 PM
Some people on the asset exchange have upwards of 12 stakes.  I saw multiple accounts with over 10 just scanning through. Some big holders are beginning to form.

I almost guessed that happening  Undecided

i dont think it will effect nem that much.. if a whale wants a large amount of a currency.. they will usually acquire it one way or another.. whether its buying up cheap now or manipulation of the market after launch.. so it makes no odds really.. lets just hope these are the type of whales to put up bounties and give donations and fund conferences ect..

I agree, it is normal in the development of a currency... some of these large holders may even benefit the currency like you said. There were probably a couple stakeholders with 10+ sockpuppets never caught too, so I am guessing there are currently around 20 people with over 10 stakes each. I am guessing that out of these 20 one or two may have over 20 stakes. Then the devs may get around 40 stakes (not sure). However this still seems to be a great distribution with little manipulation.

-EFFV

and on top of it.. less than 500 stakes were distributed(i think) so its not like they can even buy that many with out forcing the price up.. it seems to me like they just picked up the coins that were going to be dumped anyway! these people will have much more interest in running nodes now aswell..

actually.. it would be cool if people could link nodes.. like prove to the network they own node x y z. split their total number of coins between node x y and z and then they lease forging power from node x and y to z.. z then gets the forging power of all the coins from all 3 nodes and then get a higher importance for account z for running 3 nodes at once! this would split up larger accounts into many smaller ones. and there would be waaay more nodes! probably twice or 3 times more nodes!

edit:

im 99% sure as an asset! which is better. better be top of the asset list than 20th on the coin list!

Up today i saw that just 388 stakes were claimed and im more and more convienced that it was right move to use AE. We get rid of weak hands for sure!

One question to the devs: what will happen to the stakes which are never claimed after the launch ? 'Cos someone maybe just forget the whole deal. And i mean regular stakes no tokens.

Did anyone look closer into the test network? Is there any proofs it's something real and not just app that sends coins?

Hmm, were there one guy, who have looked it and found it kind of sketchy?
516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread on: June 08, 2014, 09:26:18 PM
Another piece of great news is that Gliss from coinmarketcap is still working to add NEM, I have just talked to him. It will take a bit more to configure what he has to but he said it's on the way. Smiley

hes not just listing nem.. he is listing the whole nxt AE.. i think it would be best nem is top of nxtAE market cap page than way down bottom of coin market cap.. i think thats what he is doing anyway..

Not sure, but as long as it's up there it'll be fine. Smiley

More good news, nice!

So if he add the whole AE, NEM will be ranked first in shortly after. That should be a good puplicity for free and bring a lot newbies, whom may check it and maybe buy some.
517  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: June 08, 2014, 09:21:29 PM
I dont mean to be againt nxt, but just dont quite get it how that POS system will under terms of monetary system.

The devs plan to have NXTs provide backing for other currencies issued against NXTs, this feature is called Monetary System. This takes care of the big stakeholders not spending NXTs, because, say, you only have 100 000 NXTs, you can 'lock' them to create your own currency and use it as long as those 100 000 NXTs are 'locked' and back your new currency. You can put that new currency you issued backed by your 100 000 NXTs into the economy. After that that currency may or may not appreciate against NXTs, depending on how well you manage it. Big holders not doing anything with their NXTs can sit on them all they want. You can make the NXT world go around even with a relatively small amount of NXTs by making your stash work, by proving loans if you want in that currency you issued, by paying your employees, you can essentially be a small bank and issue your own banknotes just like every small bank in US in the 19th century issued their own, there were hundreds of banks with their own banknotes at that time.

At least that's what the devs have in their mind, let's wait for them to deliver, they say the MS is already being tested.

Thanks, that will solve the issue what i tried to explain.

Interesting to follow how  cryptos will evolve. I have lot of similar questions related to monetary system and Cryptos but, it is kind of irritating to a non notive speaker to found right terms.

This is exciting. But there is no scope for others to get into the alpha? The list is already chosen?

Open alpha - everyone can participate.

Closed alpha - selected users (No need to sign up).
519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread on: June 08, 2014, 08:17:07 PM
The Open Alpha is scheduled on 6/25. Let's the countdown begin. We will be inviting selective users into the closed Alpha testing starting in a couple of days. The priority goes to helpers/ volunteers who are in the Trello board or answer the volunteer survey earlier so there is no need to sign up now. Thanks.

On behalf of the NEM dev. team.

woohoo!!!

Yeaah baaabyyy! Great news devs, the dont just talk, they deliver Cool

Thats sound little odd, when NXT is suppose to be a currency system, where you get somehow rewarded when concentrating units?

How can a monetary system works if it kind a againts spending ?

People borrow money at interest dont they? even though they have to pay back more than they borrowed later. Money spent now is worth more than money later. its called time preference. sure forging will cause some people on the margins to chose not to buy something they otherwise would have bought, but only people on the margins. To take an extreme example no one is going to starve to death because they could have more money tomorrow if they dont buy food today. This same principal applies to less extreme examples. A new computer will always be cheaper later than it is today, yet people still buy computers every day, LOTS of them infact.

Banking systems differs quite a bit from NXT, borrowing creates more money and money multiplier formula, so i dont quite understand how thats suppose to be good thing that, guys how have allready huge amount of nxt are the ones who benefit most.

Would be possible that whale who owns big amount of NXT can have lets say 5% "interest" by forging ? Because in this case he would not borrow any of the money for less interest rate ?

I dont mean to be againt nxt, but just dont quite get it how that POS system will under terms of monetary system.
