Amazing comeback from the Proteas after the hammering that they received in the first match. They are now leading by 31 runs. The partnership between Ruan de Swardt and Shaun von Berg changed everything. They were 150/6 and eventually got to 242 all out. And in return, Dane Paterson and Dane Piedt never gave any breathing space for the Kiwis, as they ended up at 211. Three days remain in this match, and anything can happen from now on. So I will be a bit cautious here. But still I'd say that the Proteas have an upper hand.

No one really thought that West Indies was going to win the 3rd ODI. Hard luck for those who made the bet in favor of Australia. West Indies made multiple comebacks in this match. At one point, they were 17/3, and then at 79/5. But then Sherfane Rutherford and Andre Russell were able to put up a grand partnership for the 6th wicket and take them to 220/6. Adam Zampa got destroyed during the depth overs. And in return Australia got to 68/0 after 6 overs. But then they had this batting collapse. Aaron Hardie and Glenn Maxwell wasted a lot of balls and that ended their chances.

Australia U19 played with strong mindsets they won most important final by huge margin and champion of under 19 world cup 2024. The Player of the Tournament is from South Africa U19 is Kwena Maphaka for his outstanding bowling performance picked 3 time five wicket hauls in this world cup. The Player of the match on this final match of world cup Mahli Beardman from Australia U19 for his bowling spell picked 3 important wickets and Rafael Macmillan also picked 3 crusial wickets by just giving 43 runs and helped his team to all out India U19 and won this match by 79 runs a huge margin in Final match.

The final match was actually quite predictable. In my opinion, instead of spending 6-7 hours in conducting the match, ICC should give a walkover to Australia in case their opponents in the final are India. During the last 4-5 times when this happened, Australia had won the match. And this has become some sort of a psychologic barrier for the Indians. If they learn that Australia are their opponents in the final, then automatically they become demoralized. And this is applicable for both the senior side and the age group teams.

Chairmen PCB Zaka Ashraf has resigned from his post, his tenure was about to end in first week of February. He reshaped the Pakistan cricket team after ODI world cup and that led to 3-0 defeat in Australia and 4-0 so far in NZ. New chairmen has not been appointed so far but most likely it will be Najam Sethi who will once again take the command. PCB these days is volatile like Bitcoin these days and due to that performance of team is drastically gone down.

Rameez Raja was the one who got a good media rights deal for the PSL and brought in tons of revenue for the PCB. Also, he negotiated with the PSL franchises and came up with a formula for sharing the revenue that was acceptable for all the parties. But then all of a sudden, he was replaced with the incompetent Najam Sethi. I just hope that the new government will bring back Rameez after replacing all those incompetent people who were installed after him. He can lead the PCB to a new direction which benefits everyone.

Group phase matches have ended in Asian Cricket Council Women's Premier Cup. China Women won against Oman Women and this marks the end of campaign for China as they finished third in Group B, with 1 win from 3 matches. Japan finished second in Group B, while United Arab Emirates were the toppers. Thailand has finished as the top-most team in Group A, while Malaysia and Nepal finished as the toppers for Group C and Group D respectively. Also, today Nepal had a massive win over Maldives. Nepal scored 227/4, while Maldives were skittled out for just 13.

Chattogram Challengers vs Comilla Victorians

Chattogram Challengers vs Comilla Victorians will be start within short time at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium Chattogram, Bangladesh. Chattogram Challengers has top 2 position and Comilla Victorians has 3rd position in table among rest of teams. And both team had gained victory against 5 team and points are also same although Chattogram Challengers played 1match less than Comilla Victorians yet but i believe this match is going to be so excited today. Both team has many qualifed and experienced players who can be game changer. Now I'm waiting for start up, less than a hour remain

Both the teams have 10 points each, and the winner of today's match will rise to no.2 position in the points table. At least on paper, Comilla Victorians look stronger for me. Apart from Andre Russell , they have heavyweights such as Moeen Ali, Johnson Charles, Rahkeem Cornwall, Mohammad Rizwan, Mustafizur Rahman, Sunil Narine and Rashid Khan.

Victorians have got a good start, and they are 156/3 after 14.5 overs. Will Jacks has so far made 65 from 37 balls, and before that it was the turn of Litton Das to smash 60 from 31 balls. CV may end up with a total of around 220.

I also think Nepal is a better team than Canada. They were doing well against Canada and won their matches easily. This is because their players are experienced and skilled. In the last match Nepal played aggressively and easily reached the target with only one wicket lost. This win will definitely make them feel more confident as a team. Congratulations to Nepal by winning the three matches series by 3-0.

Canada cricket has been offset with a number of issues in the recent times. First there was this issue of players grouping under racial categories, which saw most of the natives (such as Ian Bilcliff, John Davison and Barry Seebaran) refusing to represent the national side. And then they were unable to retain some of their most promising players, such as Ashish Bagai. That doesn't mean that Nepal was without their fare share of setbacks. The recent imprisonment of Sandeep Lamichhane has been a huge blow for them.

Today the 2nd test match of New Zealand vs South Africa, is ongoing and South Africa won the toss and they opt to Bat instead of field. Maybe thus with this strategy, they could perform well against New Zealand! Although we already saw New Zealand performance in 1st test, how aggressive they were with playing. South Africa lost 1 wicket at 4 runs only. And rest of players tried to make more runs but out. 5 wickets gone within 101 runs and that indicates that South Africa are in troubl. Although 7th player Ruan de Swardt did half century and Shaun von Berg, both are doing impressive batting. Rachin Ravindra hunted 3 wickets already. I just love his man how a person can good with bowling and batting at time same time

They were 150/6 when David Bedingham got out. But then South Africa made a remarkable recovery, with Ruan de Swardt and Shaun von Berg fighting it out in the middle. Neil Wagner was controversially included in the playing XI ahead of Kyle Jamieson. He played his last test match almost an year ago, but did a decent job this time by taking the wicket of Raynard van Tonder. Part-timer Rachin Ravindra has so far picked up half of the wickets to fall so far. He has a strong start to his career, and scored 240 in the last test.

Ok Paddikal is replacement but in playing XI, it's Sarfraz Khan to replace Rahul's batting position, also I heard people shortforming (if it's even word) Devdutt Paddikal to DDP which I find pretty dope, I know it's obvious now, but didn't cross my mind before. Plus, Dhruv Jurel is to replace KS Bharat for wicket keeping position.

^ posted by Indian express, but they have source named (source being, Devendra Pandey), so I like to believe it's true, let's see in match how it goes.

Hope these two make their impact for chance they have been given.

Patidar also likely gonna stay in playing XI due to Kohli still being out, while I hope Sundar will get chance in playing XI too, I just have that soft corner for all-rounders  Grin

Padikkal has been in terrific form so far in the Ranji Trophy. And it will be a big disappointment for him, in case he is overlooked in favor of Sarfraz Khan. BTW, I agree with the choice of Dhruv Jurel. BTW, more interesting is the question of Kuldeep Yadav. Will he get the nod ahead of Axar Patel? Ravichandran Ashwin seems to be confirmed anyway. And I would advice the Indians to go with just one pacer. But they seems to be adamant about Akash Deep making his debut in the third test.
510  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: February 11, 2024, 05:18:36 AM
I would still prefer Kuldeep to be in the playing XI because finger spinners are wicket takers and in flat wickets like Rajkot they might needed him badly even if one or two partnership builds up.

And I am really concerned about Rohit's test form too because it's depleted completely and he has to step up like what he did in WC then only the middle order might regain their confidence. If Iyer is not playing I strongly prefer Pujara to be played but as said Team management is looking for the future talents but they failed to make it in the Balanced way.

Akash Deep  maybe making his debut and that means that two pacers will be in the playing XI (Akash and Jasprit Bumrah). For the spinners, Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel are almost certain to be included. And this creates uncertainty for Kuldeep Yadav (also Washington Sundar is in the squad as well). In case Ravindra Jadeja is not fit, then he may get a chance. And I don't understand your post about Pujara. He is not even in the squad. Iyer maybe replaced by either Rajat Patidar or Sarfaraz Khan.

Nepal cricket is improving day by day, they have now also won three ODI series with one game still to be played. 285 was a good target but the experienced Nepali team don't find it hard to chase that big total. Nepali team chase the target with 29 balls still remaining. There is a match winning 150 runs partnership between the skipper Rohit Paudel and Dev Khannal. Canadian team need to improve there bowling in next match to avoid a 3-0 defeat.

They are a very young team. Most of the players are in their early 20s. The captain Rohit Paudel is just 21 years old. Kushal Malla and Gulshan Jha are still in their teens. From here onwards, they can only get better. And most importantly, their team is 100% native, unlike the case with Canada which doesn't have a single non-immigrant origin player (in the past they had a few, such as John Davison and Ian Bilcliff). Nepal has won the first two ODI matches in this series. The third and final match will be played tomorrow at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground.

Disappointed with the performance from Durban's Super Giants yesterday. In return to 204/3 from Sunrisers Eastern Cape, they could only manage a total of 115. Marco Jansen and Ottniel Baartman shared 7 wickets between them. Apart from Wiaan Mulder and Dwaine Pretorius, none of the DSG batsmen could get to a score of more than 20. Matthew Breetzke and Quinton de Kock opened the batting for them, but they struggled early on. Both of them were unable to score even at a rate of one run per ball. Anyway, congrats to SEC!

It looks like Kohli might miss out on the entire series and the rumors might be true after all which sucks since he is a game-changer especially in the test and ODI formats in my opinion.

Also, I guess management is bamboozled at the moment because they didn't so many major players to get injured/become unavailable simultaneously.

A lot of drama regarding Kohli's absence for the remainder of the series. AB de Villiers was forced to apologize, after Kohli fans targeted him for claiming that Virushka's "second child is on the way". He made the claim through YouTube, and offered the apology in the same platform itself. BCCI is also quite tightlipped. Official statement claims that Kohli will be absent for "personal reasons". Kohli and Anushka were supposed to attend the pran prathistha function in Ayodhya Sriram Mandir (22nd January), but they withdrew at the last minute citing the same reason.

The reason Pakistan-U19 lost the game is there batting, they bowled brilliantly and that's why game was decided in very last over of the game. Aussies lost 9 wickets while chasing the small target, that tells us how good Pakistani bowling was in yesterday game. Pakistan team was 20 to 30 runs of short of wht could be a winning target in semi final. Pakistan-U19 lost 5 wickets for just 79 runs in 28 overs, not a responsible batting in such a crucial game.

The match swung wildly at different stages. Australia were initially ahead in the chase until 15-year old pacer Ali Raza removed Tom Straker and Mahli Beardman in the same over. They were 164/7 and then ended at 164/9. At this point, they needed another 16 runs to win, with Raf MacMillan and no.11 batsman Callum Vidler at crease. Vidler did a great job by saving his wicket, and MacMillan took over the scoring. Anyway, bad luck for Pakistan. Always happen to them during the knockout stages of major ICC tournaments.

Sunrisers Eastern Cape have made a very strong total of 204/3 versus Durban's Super Giants in the final of SA20. It is going to be tough for DSG. I was actually rooting for DSG, since they are captained by Keshav Maharaj. Apart from Maharaj, other bowlers failed for DSG. And also, some of the umpiring decisions went against them. When Maharaj struck twice to remove Jordan Hermann and Tom Abell in the same over, I thought that a total of 170-180 was likely for SEC. But depth over hitting from Aiden Markram and Tristan Stubbs took them to a 200 plus total.

Canada seems to be suffering from yet another batting collapse in the second ODI against Nepal. They were 94/0, and then 179/2 in 31 overs. Now they are at 227/7. Instead of 300-320 that was projected a few overs back, they will end up with a sub-par total of 240-250 at the most. And impressed with Nepal so far. I thought that the entire team would collapse due to the absence of Sandeep Lamichhane. But young bowlers such as Kushal Malla, Surya Tamang and Rohit Paudel have taken over the burden. Lalit Rajbanshi is also absent for this match, and he was one of the most experienced bowlers for Nepal.
517  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: February 10, 2024, 06:31:46 AM
Akash Deep recently performed well for India A against the England Lions. In total, he picked up 11 wickets from 2 test matches. He opened the bowling for India A, along with Arshdeep Singh, with Yash Dayal for backup. So it was not really surprising to hear about his inclusion to the test squad. That said, England has performed quite decently so far. They had a hard fought win in the first match, and then they lost the second match by a moderate margin. The third match will take place at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot and a win here can put England in a strong position.
518  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Women's Cricket Prediction & Discussion - T20 & ODI on: February 10, 2024, 06:10:02 AM
The third ODI between Australia Women and South Africa Women is going on. So far both the teams have won one match each. At this point, the match seems to be evenly posed, with Australia at 187/4. Beth Mooney and Ashleigh Gardner are at the crease and 14 overs are remaining. Australia should get to 280-290, and that should be a winning total. For South Africa, Masabata Klaas has picked up 2 wickets and she has 4 overs remaining. Marizanne Kapp has four remaining as well, and therefore scoring should be difficult for Australia towards the depth overs.
519  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: February 10, 2024, 05:59:22 AM
David Warner and Josh Inglis, two experienced batsmen of the Australian team, were in great form at the beginning. Ever since Josh Inglis got out, Debbie Warner has batted with more excitement, his batting performance was superb as he scored 70 off just 36 balls. With Australia's excellent batting against West Indies today, they are sure to collect a huge score for their cause and leave the field with a good result. At this moment Australia team has lost 4 wickets David Warner was going to score a century but he got out unfortunately he couldn't achieve his goal.

The gap between the pig-3 and rest of the teams keep on increasing with every passing year, and this is not helping the cause. ICC's financial distribution model also makes sure that richer teams keep on getting richer, while the poor ones keep on becoming even more poorer. Until 2023, WICB and CA got almost equal allocation from the ICC. However everything changed in 2024. Now the allocation for Australia is almost 50% higher than that for the WICB ($37.5 million per year vs $27.50 million per year).

Right now a silent wealth redistribution is taking place and I am quite happy with that. Countries such as India and China are getting Russian hydrocarbons at a discount, and they are able to earn good profits by re-selling refined products to Europe. Also cheap Russian crude oil has lowered benchmark oil prices by quite a bit. It is good that Europeans are paying a premium, since they can afford it. I hope that this situation will continue for another 5-10 years, or until when EVs are able to fully replace gasoline and diesel driven vehicles.
