501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All ICOs Banned in South Korea on: September 29, 2017, 11:02:15 AM
If it's true Japan will become the only country where ICO will be legit. Plus EU, but they are not define their position yet if I'm not mistaken.

Not true.

https://www.coindesk.com/ico-ban-canadas-regulators-giving-one-token-sale-big-break/

ICO's will have to comply with legal state regulations and the self-regulation of the platform they launch on - like the recent Impak Coin ICO on Waves in Canada.

This is good news!  Cheesy

@dbc23

Pretty much agree with your points. However I do remember when things like ASIC resistance, difficulty retargeting, Android wallets and even country specific coins were USPs that resulted in huge marketcaps for months if not years and how, now, many of these have faded. I agree that DEX is core and vital but a platform should not be a one trick pony. I think gateways, fiat or otherwise, contracts etc are very important. (funnily enough, given my above post, not so much anonymous - would rather see some solid third party run gateways to anon coins)
503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: August 24, 2017, 01:59:00 PM
I wonder what will happen to coins like Dash, Monero/Bytecoin and ZCash when Waves implements the facility for anonymous transaction tokens.

None of them will have a USP any more - just a bloated blockchain.

It just highlights the importance of the platform as opposed to a coin, I guess.
504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How about them WAVES!!?? on: August 23, 2017, 10:14:33 AM
I wonder what will happen to Waves price when, literally, hundreds of thousands of people will get their Burger King Whopper Coins and start using Waves Platform for a real case use. This is even bigger than any real world use that Bitcoin was involved in and it's arguable if BTC has ever been used in a real mainstream case use. Waves was always positioning for mainstream - Ethereum has positioned for FinTech. They are not comparable competitors.

Is this token PoW or PoS???

POS 0% inflation - ie fees reward only.

Does anyone know when Waves plans to implement smart contracts?

After Bitcoin NG and state storage. It will be there in Waves 1.0

You can't consider any project as scam while development and adoption is ongoing. Dev is very responsible to his clients and investors.I believe incent price will go back to the moon.

Well, it never went to the moon yet, but I agree with your sentiment. It's still a dammed good proposition on a very solid platform. Incentive schemes are a low hanging fruit for blockchain disruption and the fundamentals have not changed for this project. Still, we are looking at least one year ahead and more for mass adoption.

An update from Incent

    1. A third of our crypto assets are not currently under our control.
    2. A NSW high court injunction would render their further movement a criminal offence.
    3. We are doing everything we can to secure their return.

Rob W.

Well, it could have been worse. DAO was pretty much unstoppable - whereas a) This is limited to 1/3 of assets. b) You have a good idea where the assets are and c) You are taking all reasonable steps to recover them.
I think this is still in 'learning curve' territory. And we swap an overpaid useless coder with a, hopefully, more realistically paid good coder.

Oh - and get his face off the website team photo, post haste!  Cheesy

its seem waves will be great in the future
the price is always increase

For the last, two to three weeks prices are above $5 and prices stabilising around that price. It is a good time to accumulate few more before it takes off from this point. Now, many new projects are accepting waves and we should be making a huge profit in next one to two years time. Just hold on to it and make more profit in future.

Maybe, maybe not. Waves needs more exchenges, and in different countries. (I know, I know... Waves is bigger than Poloniex, who needs exchannges with DEX, blah, blah, blah...) In long terms, liquidity is basic component of value, nad with one major exchange Waves is very volatile. Just imagine what happens if Bittrex goes down or has some issues. The core community will be fine(ish), but users in the outer world will abandon the project.

Waves right now looks like a classic teacup with handle. There won't be much time before a huge x 10 pump in my opinion.
510  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Next big thing? on: May 19, 2017, 01:38:53 PM
What do we really need from an altcoins, what is the next big thing?

We have anoncoin, platforms for trading and smart contracts, tokens..

Where are we heading?

Bitcoin was something completely new, can we expect another one?

Platforms that can do it all and to scale - Waves has all of the above in short term roadmap and tokens/trading now. Ethereum could have all that as well, and we are yet to see what Ardor will look like.
I think the tech is fast approaching production level maturity - Etherium and Waves will be huge when the vast potential is realised by the mainstream. So huge, in fact, that in a short while people will be using Bitcoin tokens without even realising they are not technically bitcoins and the Bitcoin scaling won't matter when the majority of BTC transactions are handled on and off the BTC blockchain by a few hundred trusted gateways via these platforms. I think the banks and a few other industries will be reeling in a couple of years.

What's the roadmap for Incent?

I would guess that integration into mainstream POS and Online commerce software would be a high priority?
Still integration of customer #1 as a first milestone. Then, we'd like to integrate with a few more merchants before creating an additional distribution channel in the form of plug-ins for Magento and Shopify. In parallel, we are planning to continue work on our ICO technology.

Thanks for that.  Smiley

It would be great if you could do an intermediate dev wiki alongside the plugins - there is a lot of beginner stuff, excellent Waves support for seasoned devs, but not much for the intermediate level for devs in other fields to quickly get up to speed. Of course this is not specific to Incent!

We're also doing some documentation for the API - we want to make everything as clear as possible so anyone can just plug in and use Incent. Will keep you posted!

That is great to hear. Thanks!  Smiley

514  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: May 16, 2017, 11:08:37 AM
Is there any possibility for DEX to include different chain coin as in eth or other promising project ? if this implemented wave will fly far away over da moon ?

I think, at present, other chains are implemented via gateways/balances held in trust - like with BTC on the DEX. Anyone more knowledgeable like to confirm?

519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will ETH overtake BTC in market cap? on: May 02, 2017, 05:19:10 PM
I think it will.

it's up to 25% of BTC marketcap and doesn't look like it's going to slow down. There are literally HUNDREDS of apps now being written for it. It wouldn't surprise me if it happens towards the end of the year.

I suppose the general question is "Are smart platforms more valuable than raw currencies?"

I agree.

Also, I don't think we are too far off seeing the combined Cap of all ETH tokens surpassing BTC.

I didnt open the file with password they gave.
Just downloaded it to my pc and tried to open but its saying its corrupted, "wordpad cant open this file".
How can they phish us if we dont give them username and password?

Just opening the attachment, and running the VB could well give the phisher enough control to send coins to himself when you open a wallet or a light client.
