501  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: November 02, 2023, 08:42:34 PM
Imho, you can gamble in front of your kids as long as you have authority in their eyes or family. I assume you, your kid wont become addicted just from watching or trying to gamble. Gambling addiction is a kind of illness that isnt formed just by watching. As a parent, you would better worry about your authority, than hiding gambling hobby. Because lots of parents not just respect their parents, but trust more to things they see on the Internet and especially on YouTube. If a popular blogger says gambling is what a kid must do, then you can forbit, ban or talk as much as you want about potential addiction, it will be no use.

Aside the authority a parent must have in the home over their wards, if you don’t want your kids learning gambling from you, I don’t think it’s a good idea to gamble in front of your kids. Gambling addiction isn’t formed in children by just watching the parents gamble. It rather could form an interest in the child as the child would want to do as he had seen his father do. The parent is the first role model of any child and would, even without meaning to, emulate the words and actions of the parents.
Even with the authority on the children, the child would still find a way to practice what he has seen the father regularly do. If you actually don’t want your kid to start gambling, it’s much better not to gamble where they could see you doing it.
502  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greed or risk on: November 02, 2023, 07:59:11 PM
Well, it’s his bet and he can do what he wants to do. He fully knows the risk and wants to keep on holding out till the end. I personally don’t think greed may be at play here but I may be wrong. But whatever the case, the player is obviously aware of the opportunity he has to withdraw a considerable amount and still choose to hold on.
Greed is also a possibility here. I’ve also had someone I know lose out after having an opportunity like this. Perhaps, having high hopes and thinking more about the amount to be gotten, he decided to hold on till the end of the game and ultimately lost out in the end. It’s really all about taking the risks and bearing the outcome later on.
503  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: November 02, 2023, 07:36:36 PM
Manchester United's performance in the Champions League has been poor so far. They lost against Galatasaray. Despite winning against Copenhagen, their performance was not very good. Manchester United were very lucky to get a narrow 1-0 win in this match. Manchester United have no experienced players in attack. Because of this, their offensive performance is erratic. At the same time, the performance of Manchester United's defenders is also quite weak. United's poor match tactics have led to poor performances from their defenders. We have to admit that Ten Hag's match strategy is not good. And if they can perform like this, Manchester United will be defeated in the next match against Copenhagen.

I think the problem doesn’t lie in their attack and players not being experienced. I think they’ve actually got players experienced enough in the team and also manning their attack. Asides, I don’t see the failure of the offense being the reasons why the defense would fail as well. I agree that overall, Manchester United has had a poor performance; way below expectations from what was expected from them and there’s dwindling confidence from supporters whenever they play any game. They just aren’t trusted enough to play and win a game. One thing is on though; Ten Hag strategy doesn’t seem to be working.
504  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling affect your relationship? on: November 02, 2023, 07:14:38 PM
Even if it's not  gamble related, I believe any relationship that has addiction involved there will certainly be a problem in it because the addicted spouse always tend to cause problem. A gambling addict is someone with poor thinking and this type of mind is not good if one wants to maintain a healthy relationship because a sound mind and respect is what every lady wants.

Respect and progress is what everyone spouse would want for herself and her family. Addiction to anything is bad and would obviously give a bad look on the family and a strain on it’s finances.
Someone with an addiction to gambling or other vices are weak minded and easily swayed by things around at the moment. Being hooked, it would be easy to overlook what repercussions would follow from their actions, and if married, this would definitely affect the marriage. Unless the spouse is an addict. Then they’re both screwed.
505  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your nice hit to leave the casino. on: November 02, 2023, 02:35:26 PM
before playing i have specific amount that I can use as betting funds and I always make sure that if I tripled that amount that is the indication that I need to stand up and go home ,  I don't wanna make myself frustrated winning huge and in the end will lose everything .

If you’ve got a specific amount you planned to use and then end up tripling that amount, then you’ve pushed past the planned amount in a bid to play more. If you can play past the initially planned amount, then don’t you think you could continue to triple the panned amount despite having an initial amount planned to use?
Having an open mind with little expectations and always keeping to your planned limit can help go a long way to conserve your funds and keep you away from sliding slowly into the arms of addiction.
506  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you use multiple platforms for betting? on: November 02, 2023, 12:14:52 PM
I think people who operate multiple accounts on different online casinos for whatever reasons they may have would likely get bored of shuffling through the different casinos looking for the best odds whenever they want to book a bet and would likely settle for the one he thinks is more favorable to him.
If you trust a casino well enough to do KYC, then I don’t see why I would use multiple platforms for betting. But people have got different opinions about lots of things and may think nothing of operating several accounts on multiple platforms. It may seem harmless but it can also be exploited.
507  Economy / Economics / Re: Real estate vs cryptocurrencies vs business on: November 02, 2023, 11:49:58 AM
To create a new business, you have to think a lot in the first stage, because after starting a business in a new stage, it will be very difficult to sustain the business.  Also, if you can invest, it can be very good. Because if you can invest, it can always bring something good for us, so I always invest.

Starting a business is no easy task as you’ve got serious competition all over. Due to various factors, it may be difficult to sustain the business and it may later fold up. But Investments can not always bring us something good. Not in the short run anyway.
A business, when successfully off its starting point; beginning to grow and bring in profits can be very satisfactory and also rewarding. I think looking for and staring a viable business wouldn’t do no damage.
508  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: November 02, 2023, 07:53:06 AM
I think Manchester United needs another goalkeeper, not one that would come on loan, they have to sign another good goalkeeper, so there can be competition in the goalkeeping position, i even think it would help Onana to improve a lot, right now whether he plays bad or not, he knows he isn't going to be dropped because there is no competent replacement.

Yes, they do need a good substitute goalkeeper that could man the goal posts when the main is away. And it would give Onana the constant desire to want to improve and get better if he would want to retain his place as the main goalie.
He’s not exactly performing like expected and who knows how long we’ll have to wait till when he’ll start to get better. He has great expectations expected from him and thankfully, he still has the trust of the coach.

                            Manchester United Vs Newcastle United

The game is currently 2-0 in favour of Newcastle United, as almiron put a beautiful goal against United. Though I believe the goal was a defensive error from United defence, as almiron took on Dallot on the run move towards the 18 yard box, before onana could rush towards almiron, he had to use his left foot to flip the ball pass onana.
The second goal as well, is a defensive error, This first half is devastating for united.

I didn’t expect anything less than Newcastle. They’re currently winning the game with two scored just in the first half. They had made good use of their opportunities as well.
Sadly, I didn’t think  Manchester United would have be able to win this game despite wanting them to do so. Right now, Newcastle is in better form and it’s evident on the scoreline.

It’s half time now. Who knows what the second half has in store for us. Can Manchester United make a comeback and perhaps win or draw the game like Arsenal did with Chelsea?
510  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 01, 2023, 08:10:23 PM
Newcastle appears to be in a better form than Manchester united and in this match, and consider the recent losses Manchester united have against teams that are not as good as Newcastle I doubt if Manchester united is going to be able to face Newcastle heads on.

I think Newcastle would win this game. I love the lads at old Trafford but with their present form that’s quite unpredictable, I can’t see them winning this game. It could turn out to be a very difficult game for Man United and I’m wondering how many attempts they would have to defend from Newcastle from entering the back of the net.
I do hope they can manage to win Newcastle but I don’t want to have any high hopes only to watch Manchester United lose another game.
511  Economy / Economics / Re: No petrol/diesel car sales by 2035/ Reality or dream? on: November 01, 2023, 11:25:56 AM
This seems like a dream to us, but when the supply of diesel petrol will decrease, people will be more focused on electric cars. In 2035, people of the world may buy more electric cars, but even in 2035, I don't think diesel or petrol cars will stop selling. Sales of diesel and petrol vehicles may decline slightly but will not stop completely. I think the demand for sports cars will always remain in the world and most of the sports cars are petrol engines. If an electric car manufacturing company builds a supercar or a sports car, it will not get much market because by sports car we mean very high speed, several hundred kilometers speed within braking moment, these are possible only in petrol engine.

Super fast cars aren’t only possible with petrol powered engines. If we can have bullet trains that are also super fast and are electric powered, sport cars aren’t really far behind. It has been quite the challenge to get people to buy and drive electric vehicles.
Petrol powered vehicles would most likely still be available in the market by 2035 as there would be still be quite the demand for it. Electric powered vehicles could in the distant future, majorly replace petrol powered vehicles but for now, a lot of people are still resistant to change.
512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and it effects on: November 01, 2023, 05:41:48 AM
Gambling for financial increase has always been the wrong approach to gambling because bit only increase your despiration and reduce how logical you think and manage your fund, you become reckless with your stakes and risk, most times you forget the entertainment that comes with gambling.

Tell this to people who have come to the conclusion that gambling is now an employment opportunity that regular income can be earned from. Gambling for an increase in your income is definitely a wrong approach and it would only increase your dependency on gambling in order to acquire more income.
Addiction creeps in slowly and without the individual realizing it, he’s already languishing in addiction and then it would be difficult to recover from. When the money to be made is foremost in your mind, then the entertainment purposes is quickly forgotten.
513  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: October 31, 2023, 10:21:44 PM

Onana performed poorly at the beginning of the season, he made some errors that made people complain about him, and he has conceded a lot of goals this season, which made people complain that Ten Hag made a great mistake by signing him. But as we can see, Onana is now performing well. Manchester City won the match against Manchester United, but Onana performed well. If not for Onana, Manchester City would have scored more than the three goals that they scored.

Onana is a top tier goalie that is yet to fully show his abilities with his stay at Man United. He performed so well with his former club and could very well still do the same at United.
I think it would be best to measure his performance to be good in a match that they actually won and perhaps concede very minimal goals. While his efforts may have helped to keep the goal tally from increasing more, I would prefer a clean sheet to be more of a show of a better performance from him.
514  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this how it start? (No or yes?) on: October 31, 2023, 06:55:31 PM
Addiction cannot be achieved so soon so you needn’t worry. For now anyways. But addiction can creep in when you least expect and before you know it, you’ve already sunk in deep.
For now, I think you initially started playing cause you were probably bored at home with nothing more interesting in mind to do and you funded your account the second time cause you were now more engaged and perhaps had an increased desire to win despite initially playing for fun.
Keeping your thoughts and emotions in check is essential if you don’t want to accidentally slip into addiction.
515  Economy / Economics / Re: Biting more than i can chew. How can i do better? on: October 31, 2023, 12:12:37 PM
I think we all have made some bad financial decisions we’d prefer not to have made in the past. While the mistakes made in the past may in a way, tell on your future, it doesn’t totally define your life unless you let it.
You’ve learned the hard way sadly, that not everyone that flocks around when all is well should be considered a friend. And In your case, you earned your money so I can understand being proud of what you’ve got. Anyone would. You’re now fully aware of the reasons on your new financial situation and things that should be curbed. You can really do much better.

but if you achieve something once, you will do it again.

Thanks. I guess I also needed to be reminded.

516  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: October 27, 2023, 11:59:13 AM
The fans not me are overwhelmed with Chelsea October performance, they have so far draw 1 win 2 which is great, if they have the same momentum in them Brentford should not be a big task for them to accomplish, they should use this match as a compensation for drawing against Arsenal instead of them to keep tight to win them, it will be great having +3 because it will boots them directly to top 6.

If they can monster the same energy they had used when they earlier met with Arsenal, Brentford wouldn’t be much of a challenge and they could take the three points. I had predicted a straight win for Arsenal and thought nothing of Chelsea chances. They surprisingly put up a good fight and although, they couldn’t get the win, they managed to hold Arsenal, who’s in top form, to a draw.
They’ve got a good chance to have a win over Brentford.
517  Economy / Economics / Re: What does being rich mean in your perspective? on: October 27, 2023, 03:35:13 AM
for me, that's all we need to have a peaceful life on this earth. you don't need luxury materials to say you are rich. maybe, when you define richness, in terms of money, that's when you will look at the bank account of that person.
but true wealth for me is just like you enumerated. if you are at peace with yourself and contented with your life, i believe, you are already rich than most. and in time, you will also find the true meaning of life and live with it.

When you’re considered rich, you’ve got a shit load of money/and assets. It’s that simple. If you pull up to an event with a Rolls-Royce which can be considered to be a prime example of what a luxury good is, you’ll be screaming I’m rich without having to say a word. You won’t see a poor/average income earner thinking about luxury items for obvious reasons. While you actually don’t need luxury items to prove your worth, they’re a good indicator of individuals with deep pockets. .

Peace and contentment are great feelings and traits  to have but contentment and peace with oneself cannot make you richer than most.
518  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 26, 2023, 11:58:02 PM

It seems De Gea is getting near to signing his contract with Macnshter United and he is going to come back to the team again. Since there was some news about De Gea joining Manchester United again, he published a new story on Instagram and said 'feeling good' maybe this is a positive signal for this player to join Manchester United.
In this case, Onana will be under pressure and there is even the chance for him to leave.

If De Gea wants to and does make a return to Manchester United, the news would be welcomed by supporters as well. He has been missed.
About Onana, he would definitely be under a whole new found pressure and while there’s the chance for the club to gradually lose interest in him and later let him go, he may have gotten a better reason to and get more motivated in order to secure his spot in the team.
Asides all of that, We could see better performance from him and I still have some faith in his abilities.
519  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the need to be known a requirement to qualify for a loan(s)? on: October 26, 2023, 11:40:01 PM
I’m surprised you’re just finding out that banks don’t just give out loans to just anyone interested in taking out a loan. If they did that constantly, there would have to refund customer deposits used In doing business as the bad debt that would ensure would be crippling to the bank.

I know most people would agree that for you to get a loan from the bank, you need to provide identification and some sort of reassurance that the loan would be repaid. “Trust me bro, I’m good for it” isn’t going to cut it.
520  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Beware of this new scamming methods on: October 26, 2023, 11:19:06 PM
Do we expect scammers to keep using the same old routine? Same old phishing attempt but with a new twist to the story every time.
I thought it wasn’t right when they requested your permission to write an article. That was probably thrown in the premise that you would feel important enough to be asked permission from and get you in a way, committed. Giving the attempt another go with a new twist wanting an interview.
His tone betrayed how desperate he wanted this part of the con to succeed and you were observant enough to notice it.
