501  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Anyone +18 Play Gamble? on: February 13, 2024, 03:50:54 AM
Does gambling needs experience or anyone +18, even the inexperienced one can also play? Though playing gamble has a limited age grade or age bracket and the accepted is from  +18 years and there are some casinos hall at the door post, it is written clearly that it is only people of +18 can play. But what about the inexperienced ones, are they allowed to play gamble as well? Or they are also restricted to have the fun? In my observation, there are two elements to participate in gambling. One, you must above 18 years in my country and secondly you must have an experience to play, so I want to know if inexperienced people can also play gamble.
There is no connection ɓetween experience and the age limit adopted by the regulators. The later is regarded as the stage the gambler is expected to be matured enough to take independent decision and be responsible for the consequences of such decisions while the former is a difference ball game.

Furthermore, experience is not a measure of age because someone in his 20s can be more experienced than someone in late 30s depending on how many years each of them have been involved in gambling and how well they have been able to learn and grow in the gambling process.
502  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: February 12, 2024, 08:16:42 PM
The only match of the day in Italian Serie A will be played between Juventus and Udinese. The championship race between Juventus and Inter continues but Juventus lost to Inter last week and lost a very important advantage. Also, Inter completed their missing game in the league and increased their point difference with Juventus to 7. If Juventus wants to stay in the race, they have to win this game. If they don't beat Udinese today, Inter will be the strongest favorite of everyone.
This is supposed to be an easy match for Juventus considering their experience and home advantage. By head-to-head record, Udinese have only drawn just once in the last 6 meetings with Juventus winning all. I do not expect tonight to be any exception unless as Udinese have taken the lead with the Lautaro Giannetti 25th minute goal that have seen Udinese leading by a lone goal. It is still a long way to the final time so it is somewhat difficult to conclude that Juventus will lose the match like that lost to Inter Milan in their last match.
503  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: February 12, 2024, 07:37:27 PM
Crystal Palace vs Chelsea tonight, I’m thinking this could be a close game. The home fans at Palace are known to create a really good atmosphere. Chelsea could find it tough on a night kick off at their place.

Let’s see what happens, I definitely think there will be goals in this one.
Crystal Palace vs Chelsea will be a trailing game because both sides are competitive and keeps close eyes on the accumulative three winning points. I'm just at home relaxing, I'll not be placing any wager on this particular game because I perceive incompetent actions driven from the Blues end. Chelsea keeps making inconsistent results in matches, they just have to stick to becoming more balance in matches, especially when it comes to stellar performance. Chelsea do fumble against both average and elite teams, I'm a blue fan and probably, not giving 100% trust on my team.
I see a very tough match tonight between Crystal Palace and Chelsea, a match that will likely produce a winner and it is very difficult knowing who that winner will be. Both Chelsea and Crystal Palace have not been doing too well this season with the later even smelling the relegation zone. If Crystal Palace is to evade relegation this season, they must muster some courage to offset clubs like Chelsea that are easier to dismantle this season.

I will not go for winning in this match as it can swing either sides. A closer look at both teams will show that they have ben scoring as well as conceding goals this season so playing the match on goals will be a better option.
504  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hey! it's $50k today. on: February 12, 2024, 06:06:14 PM
It happened when we least expected. Everyone was looking at the ETF to propel this surge but they used it to shake out the weak hands for a free ride to the upside. With this, ATH high is possible before halving other things being equal. I can only imagine the future of Bitcoin and where we will be as fresh capital continue to flow into Bitcoin through the various ETFs!

indeed long term HODL will always win.
505  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: A call to fully regulate cryptocurrency for Naija. on: February 12, 2024, 12:45:22 PM
This one na major cause of concern for we wey dey for cryptocurrency business because I know say this one will never help us in anyway, rather, e go make accessing and using cryptocurrency hard for us because the regulators go must put measures to take collect money from our hand. I dey talk as a Nigerian wey understand say our government policy no dey favour the ordinary people, rather na how to make things more difficult for people. Make them just comot hand for cryptocurrency because this regulation no go solve any problem but go create plenty problems.

I dey advice people to reason DEX in case this people succeed in their their regulation. Keep your coins in your private wallet to avoid had I know!
506  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: February 11, 2024, 04:06:04 PM
Munich losing by three goals was gut-wrenching. A team of their calibre should fight, right? They gave Leverkusen the win on a silver platter. Think about it; more ball control but no action? What a shame. Instead of penetrating defences, they basically passed the ball aimlessly.

And dont mention Tuchel. I was optimistic, but this makes me doubt his methods. Disconnection is evident in the team. In contrast, Leverkusen played hard. I applaud Xabi Alonso for demonstrating the power of effective management without star players. What a contrast! It makes you wonder if Bayern needs a coach change.
I think it's all over and Tuchel is now in a very deep slump, no one is to blame but Tuchel for this embarrassing defeat.
I didn't expect Bayer, who was struggling to compete for the Bundesliga title, to lose with such a crushing score.

In this match, it was quite visible that Bayern's strength was able to be suppressed by Leverkusen's slick performance. Xabi Alonso's team was really quite surprising in what they showed.
In the game of football, there will always be a winner and what is expected when defeat happens is the spirit of sportsmanship.  As disappointing as it may be, Bayern Munic just have accept the fact that they were carefully and intentionally defeated by Bayern Leverkusen.  Maybe this will help them come to terms with reality that the league title is slipping off their grip. I actually like things like this as it has a way of proving that no one is indestructible.

Bayern Leverkusen have truly proven that they are prepared for the title this season. Their draw with Mgladbache actually put doubts to their resolve but this win have clear all doubts. Bayern Munic have to kick their wounds while the prepare to salvage what they salvage what they can.

It was a terrible moment for Arsenal when they lost to West Ham United in their last meeting even though Arsenal did managed to dominate that match in possession and the number of goal attempts. I think the players of Arsenal would be eager to play against West Ham United today as they will have a chance to reclaim a stolen victory by West Ham United during their last meeting at the Emirates Stadium. I guess the chances for West Ham United to stop Arsenal from claiming a victory at the end of the match is very low.
Bearing that last experience in mind, the Gunners are dealing a huge blow to Westham, a true definition of retaliation.  6 goals to nil at 70th minute with no sign of stopping there. Seems Arsenal have suddenly rediscover themselves and are emboldened by the win against Liverpool.  Do they still have a chance at the league title?

There win today will make them equal Machester City in 53 points, two points behind Liverpool. If Machester City fail to win their outstanding match, it means the league is still very much within the reach of Arsenal. But I have my doubts in them because consistency have always been their major problem. However, it was a good outing by the Gunners today, let's see if they can keep up the pace.
508  Economy / Speculation / Re: Going against the grain. on: February 11, 2024, 03:24:46 PM
I think now is a good time to take some profits and set it aside.

It's a given when all the internet bobble heads get excited is a good time to sell some. When anything rises fast it comes back down almost every time.

Even if it goes up some more you still secured a profit, get rid of the emotion. When it drops below your sell poing enough buy back in a bit at a time.
Different people, different motives,  different target and indeed seeing differently. I don't know what your motivations for thinking about selling now are but the signs are there that  we are just starting a major bull run. Why then will someone sell when he should be buying more? Check recent cashflow into the market, you will see that we are just starting a major bull run.

The only factor that can possibly cause deep retracement is sell off that may feollow if  MtGox creditors are refunded their Bitcoin. Until then, we are still entering major bullish event that will send price higher, so now is not the best time to sell.
509  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: February 11, 2024, 01:36:55 PM
As a newbie I have been thinking about the powerful thread in the meantime taken a chance how to write me.

One of the trader who trade in business place for the best return basically his expectation 50% or 100% or also more how much become he more delightful.
As a assumption the price of cryptocurrency 2030 maybe 543K which price by today is 48k.
We are not actually talking about trading here, I think there is a section for trading. By trading I mean short time and hold with targets like 50% or 100% just like you said. If you are looking for information on that kind of ventures, I suggest you visit the trading discussion board and you will appreciate why the forum is segmented.

Just to set the record straight, we are discussing long term investment here and all that is needed to successful buy and hold Bitcoin for long. The key things to consider is how to buy, when to by, what is required to be able to hold and how to develop the mindset of a holder. If you go through the thread you would have read about buying the dip, DCA method, and the concept of the emergency fund that is like the secret to long term HODL of Bitcoin.

Why late! if you have enough money to invest! You must buy today last week its price was 43k.
I do not really support compulsive buying because it is usually done without proper planning. Before investing in Bitcoin, you must have calculated your cashflow to know how much you should allocate to Bitcoin so that you will be able to set up reserve funds that will serve as emergency funds. Buying now is goo because the best time to buy is usually now but care must be taken to make adequate preparations just like I explained before; that is the way to buy and be able to HODL.
510  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reason for acquiring bitcoins. on: February 11, 2024, 01:27:21 PM
Even though I have noticed some people pretending to buy Bitcoin for the love and not because they believe they can get financially comfortable through it, majority of Bitcoin investors got into Bitcoin because they know the wealth generating power of Bitcoin. Even those who got into Bitcoin because of the use case like myself, somehow they realized that it could be a store of value and started holding. So the ultimate reason for holding Bitcoin is to make more money from it, leveraging on the volatility and other amazing properties of it.

However, there are other reasons I have come to realize that made people invest in Bitcoin. Personally, I have made some adjustments in my future plans and that including adding Bitcoin to the assets I will transfer my heirs. Consequently, I'm building to HODL and never to sell my entire assets irrespective of the price Bitcoin gets to. I will experience bull and bear seasons as long as I live and will never run out of Bitcoin.

512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2023/2024 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: February 10, 2024, 01:53:23 PM
Manchester City vs Everton

Everton will be playing Manchester City at Etihad. Will they be able to stop them from entering the top of the premier league table for the first time this season? Looking at Everton's performance last match against Tottenham they had a good performance up to the point of winning Tottenham at their home. Manchester City on the other hand is the champions of Europe they have what it takes to win and remain in the EPL table till the end of the league. In this match i will be playing Manchester City to win and multiple goals of 3 and above. Because i know Everton will score and Manchester City will do everything possible to win at Etihad.
Manchester City managed to win at Everton's home ground, Manchester City should also be able to win because they will play at the Etihad Stadium. Moreover, Manchester City performance is currently difficult to control. So, playing at home against a team that is without a win in the last six matches in the Premier League, Manchester City is certainly the favorite to get three points to record ten consecutive wins and at the same time lead them to the top of the standings.
Unfortunately, Manchester City is not finding it easy to win even at Etihad as the match is standing at goalless draw as at half time. I'm not surprised though because Everton have been a difficult nut to crack for the big teams.  They were able to secure 2:2 draw with Tottenham in their last match following Jarrad Branthwaite 94th minute goal, although this is not enough to conclude that they will be able to withstand the firepower of the Cities.

I was thinking that Manchester City will have an easy win today following Liverpool's last week defeat by Arsenal that made them lose their first position for the interim should Manchester City win their outstanding match. Let's see how the second half ends and I hope the Cities are able to win this one because they desperately need the winning more than anything.
513  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does even freezing a customer's account curb irresponsible gambling? on: February 10, 2024, 04:27:39 AM
If suddenly you went on a binge-gambling out of a lack of self-control or something else. For example, you deposit money in rapid succession after a series of losses and the casino management freezes your account. And when you call their customer support, they tell you that your account has been frozen for 3 weeks and the reason why they carried out that measure was because they suspected that you were gambling irresponsibly and decided to take that measure so that you can call yourself back to order, will you feel furious, cuss out, sign out of your account and register on another casino and continue betting. Does even freezing a customer's account curb irresponsible gambling or betting addiction?
This cannot change anything regarding gambling addiction. It is obvious you've never been addicted to gambling before or seen someone that have been addicted before. A gambling addict has no control over his actions and can't help it.

If the account of gambling addict is frozen for whatever reason it may be, it is a matter of creating new account in another casino or even playing physical casino. The options are just numerous besides, most casinos do not require KYC.

Stopping gambling addiction must come from the determination of the gambler after being convinced that he is going about gambling the wrong way.
514  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Taking a break in gambling on: February 09, 2024, 07:08:25 PM
How do you guys manage to take a break in gambling? I’m not asking for advice but rather I’m just interested to know what you are doing on your own or if you really do a break.

I recently decided to take a break since I want to hold my crypto due to its increasing value and I don’t to spend it while it’s giving me passive profit. I just claiming bonus now or anything that is free to still enjoy gambling without risking my money.
This is one of the important attribute that makes a great gambler yet it is one of the hardest thing to do. Taking a break has serious psychological benefits in terms of helping the gambler dispel pressures and plan better. Anyone not able to take a break from gambling is probably addicted.

What is the instances that makes you take a break in gambling?
Some people only take a break after a major loss, a way to allow them get over it. But I do take a break after a major loss or a major win. I consider managing winning an important aspect of the gambling process so whenever I have a major win, I take a break. I do this by withdrawing my winnings and leaving just a small amount in my gambling account and whenever I lose that money, I will take a break to be able to account for the winning.
515  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If I bet big I lose, but if I bet small I win on: February 09, 2024, 01:05:19 PM
Guys, do you often feel like me? when I raise the bet I lose and when I lower the bet I win. Does the casino system/algorithm know the betting patterns we make? So often when we bet big we are given a loss and when our bet is small we actually win, which is very annoying

I don't know if this applies to all games or not, but I feel like this often when playing table games. What do you think?
You are not a lone my friend, this do happen to me. I have never won a bet I placed outrageous amount for once, I don't know why but no matter how careful I am with the selection, as long as I stake very big amount, it doesn't always work.

I think this may be a way the bookies play tricks on our mind, thereby throwing us into fear and doubts. Ever since I realized that this pattern doesn't work, I stick to what works, not fighting to make all the money in one bet. I think that helped me find peace with myself.
516  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How dollar rise take affect the prices of things? on: February 08, 2024, 11:05:00 PM
My country people, I greet Una o. Abeg I go school graduate o but e get one thing wey I Neva really understand and I believe say the forum na the best place to ask the question. I wan really ask how dollar wey oyibo Dy use Dy take Dy affect the prices of goods and services for our country because if to say na only goods wey dem import I for say na the exchange rate when making payment but how e take affect things wey we they source raw materials locally come produce here like garri, rice, indomie, cloths, and other things
This thing Dy really make me struggle and look for means to earn in dollar.
Abeg I Dy wait for replies if possible use graphics, practicals, example and illustration anyhow wey I fit use understand am.
Dollar rise affact Nigeria because we are a net importing nation and dollar is the main currency used for international trades. Virtually everything we use in Nigeria is imported and you need dollar to import the goods. Assuming we are producing most of our things then there will not be too much dependence on the dollar.  This is the simple explanation as to why the rise of dollar affects our local currency so much.

One thing you should also know as to why the rise is so rapid is because our practices here creates unnecessary scarcity of the dollar. When an Igboman want to bring in container and there is no dollar for him to pay and do that, he will go to the black market and buy at any price, the Aboki at that end will increase his exchange rate for quick profit, na so the price go dey rise dey go.
517  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Blue card to be introduced in football. on: February 08, 2024, 08:28:54 PM
There is  these news going round about blue card sin-bins that is said to be introduced as one of the rules in football.
Basically the whole idea of this blue card sin-bins is to punish players that have committed foul against another player, so when the referee shows you blue card, you are to go outside and stay for 10 minutes while the game will still be going on, you will remain there for 10 minutes then you come back afterwards and continue with the game, however this does not take the place of yellow card and the red card.

Locally in my country Nigeria we used to do this for small goal post that is normally called monkey post, if a player tackles his opponent wrongly, we used to tell the prayer to go out and stay for some minutes and then come back, because it's most times a five aside game, so we don't usually use cards. but seeing these rules wanting to be introduced on the international scene surprises me.

So guys how do you see this new intended innovation, is it going to change the face of football across the world, let's have your opinion.
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2024/02/08/blue-cards-to-be-introduced-for-football-sin-bins/
This new innovation reminds me so much of my childhood; then it was our way of punishing anyone that is trying to injure other players. He is normally sent out for a while, I can't remember how long, later he is brought back to the game. It is usually a bad experience if your team is losing because you will be reducing their chances of equalizing with that mini red card you just incurred for them.

I know that this new development will give more work to the coaches in terms of working on the temper of the players. Coaches will seriously advice them not to be too aggressive with their tackles. I even see this as a bigger punishment than yellow card because like I said, it is like a mini red card.
518  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: February 08, 2024, 03:48:54 PM
Sometimes many people fail to invest in bitcoin not necessarily that they don't have money to invest. Or that they need extra income to income to boost their investment chances. Some of these people are just looking for someone to act as a motivating factor for them before they can invest. Many people in here develop more interest in investing and hodling bitcoin because of their continuous visiting and reading of this thread, and seeing the knowledge that are being shared here and it motivated them. There could be several reasons why many hesitate to invest, but like you said above, investment is basically a choice.
Those are the people looking for who to blame in case anything go wrong with the investment. There are many with such character, they will never take responsibility for anything. In where I work, I still have some colleagues that still believe that Bitcoin will fail me. Funny enough, they are waiting for me to cry and regret investing in Bitcoin and always laugh at me when I ask them to invest in Bitcoin.

It is important to avoid anyone who have displayed some level of pessimism towards Bitcoin because investment requires some form of believe and trust, not forgetting the need to own up to the responsibilities.

Before deciding to hold maybe you should set some timeline on when you want to sell your stored asset so that you have something plan to hold and you will not get dismantle if you see something bearish situation in the market since it could possibly bother you.
I do not agree with you that setting the time to sell will help someone in holding especially when you want to hold for long term in accordance with our discussion here. Setting sell target means if the target is reach in two months the asset will be sold, I do not think this qualifies as the long term investment we are discussing here. I know that our plans and targets are different but when our mind is fixed on selling, we might tend to be agitated when the target price is not coming as quickly as we expect, this might be the beginning of a bigger problem.

Holding will only have sense if you have invested to much on good knowledge towards the market movement and you have a lot of experience about bullish also bearish situation.
It has been emphasized that it does not require huge amount of knowledge to be able to invest in Bitcoin even though completely knowledge is important and highly encouraged. To get started, you need just the basic knowledge thereafter you can build on your knowledge as you are building your portfolio.
519  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How's problem gambling different from compulsive gambling. on: February 08, 2024, 08:27:48 AM
Was reading a gambling related article just this morning and it was talking on random issues cut across gambling responsibly, many of which I agree with.

However, there were two terms that were made mentioned of which stole my interest unfortunately they weren't explained but only mentioned. I could have just checked them on Google but I felt reluctant and said let me bring it to the community let make it a discussion among us. The two terms were Problem Gambling and Compulsive Gambling. I want to know if they are different in meaning and how different is their effect on their victims.
Problem gambling and compulsive gambling are the same thing and in reality is the same as gambling addiction. When you feel the urge to gamble always and you cannot help it, it becomes addiction if you actually yield and gamble after all.

Anyone gambling should endeavor to watch it when his drive for gambling gets to this level because it is actually the beginning of the end of such person if decisive steps are not taken to curb such uncontrollable desires.
520  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Changing initial option and losing the bet on: February 08, 2024, 08:18:02 AM
As a gambler and I do participate on physical gambling, at times this scenario often happens to me. After doing my analysis, checked statistics on games, I have selected option I want to play but when I get to gambling center I will have a thought of changing option or adding  a game  to the initial option I selected and this most time will cost losing the bet.

These acts has cost me from losing bet many times, as a gambler share your thoughts on this and have you been in a similar situation.
Sometimes you will be wondering if there is any spirit monitoring you and pushing you to do certain things or take certain decisions. I can truly understand because you are not the only one that experienced that. I don't know if the entire gambling business have a spirit they release to make one do something that will spoil the bet  Cheesy

It took me some time to understand that these are just normal things without any spiritual connotations.  It just confirms that luck is active as far as gambling is concerned. Some people will feel the urge to adjust or remove a certain game and it will happen that the game the remove or changed was what made them to win. So it is two way thing.
