501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 5 Altcoins under $0.1 to Buy in May on: May 04, 2024, 04:44:24 PM
Anyone who actually takes this industry seriously knows that valuing literally any asset(crypto or not) should be based on marketcap/FDV, not token price. It's either the writer is totally market/finance illiterate, or they're catering to those who are market/finance illiterate.
I can't agree less with you, as much as the link tried to outline the potentials of the projects that he listed, using their prices as bases for them being bullish can be misleading, because it could be tokens that are pretty much dead. Instead investors should look at the marketcap of any token in question before investing their hard earned money, not necessarily the price.

I guess that he needs to go back to his drawing board and give us more indepth analysis, that'll look more convincing. And he shouldn't take all the criticism personal, it's just that we have too many experienced and knowledgeable forum members.
502  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN AT 63K. What should we expect moving forward? on: May 04, 2024, 01:02:15 PM
Woke up to see BTC at 63k this cold Saturday morning, although I'm excited but I'm kinda skeptical and have questions. Is the retracment over? Will price create another ATH from here or is this a dead cat bounce? Let's share opinions below.

Actually, I knew the of Bitcoin price was not going to turn green immediately after the halving but I never knew it would take such a deep. So If anyone tells you that the retracement is over and we are heading to a new ATH, such a person is not being truthful, no one knows what's going to happen in the coming days. If the price retraces again you shouldn't panic, we are already in the post halving and the market will soon go bullish.
Most Bitcoin price observers were speculating a price dip after the halving, but they never expected this much dip, especially since Bitcoin started being bullish after the ETF approval, now we're seeing a new price of over $63k today, perhaps it's a sign that price has started to rally upwards or it could just slightly dump again. I just choose not to worry or panic about this temporary pump and dump, because I know that we're definitely going to enter bull run from now to a couple of months time, so I'll just use this opportunity to accumulate more, before the inevitable ATH that we don't know when it'll happen.
503  Economy / Economics / Re: Getting an MBA before starting a company or directly starting a company? on: May 04, 2024, 11:08:56 AM
I don't think that it's necessary to get an MBA first before starting a business, if someone is oppotuned to get an MBA first, then it's a plus, but when a person who has practical experience of a business and has the capital to start it, shouldn't wait for an MBA before starting. Starting a business doesn't stop the person from furthering their education to MBA level, i know that there are part-time programs in the universities, where business people and workers who wants to upgrade their CV can study and graduate.

In Nigeria, there's a tribe called Igbo, they're renowned for business successes, they're naturally gifted in businesses, they have a lot of millionaires and billionaires, but ironically most of them are not very well educated, yet they employ graduates, including MBA holders and pay them salaries. It's not every body that is privileged or has the means to get a good education, yet they're doing very well in their businesses, I think that some people are naturally gifted for business, whether they're holding an MBA or not.
504  Other / Serious discussion / Re: HACKING OF GOVERNMENT WEBSITES on: May 04, 2024, 09:58:36 AM
what do you think about government sites that are easy to attack? shouldn't government sites have adequate security?

This is strong question, naturally anything government is meant to be the most secured and first in all but the issue is that the government is not sincere to itself, as most hacking is done by the so called government to covered up there mess , in reference to my nation I have seen situation government uses diverse means to cover up there mess to avoid escalating to the public like burning of public office where vital documents to be revail on their mess is, demolition of property in relation to where crime in which their official that can revail the mess it etc . Knowing fully well that nothing goes beyond the control of the government any hacked with government detecting and controlling has their hand indirectly.
Because of the massive corruption in governments, people don't totally trust them anytime that they come out to say that there's a hack in any of their ministries, because most often it's the government officials that initiates these hacks, that is why they won't invest maximally to fortify their systems against hacks. Normally government datas are supposed to be the most secured, to protect their assets and sensitive information. Government officials are the ones that knows sensitive information that can compromise their ministry's database, and in order to steal, they'll collaborate with hackers to do their dirty jobs.

In the past when we see or hear about a government sector building on fire, people's assertion will be that they've stolen money or sensitive materials and information for financial gains, and they've intentionally started the fire to hide every evidence. This goes to show the level of distrust that people have for our government, because of the obvious corruption in the system.
505  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can democracy really work here in Africa on: May 04, 2024, 09:03:34 AM
democracy should be implemented in countries where the majority of the population is educated, if it is implemented in countries with the majority of the population being uneducated, then the result will be anarchy or military rule. you can see how examples of democracy are implemented in many countries in africa, the result is that most of these countries end in coups or rebellions. because most countries in africa are not yet ready for democracy, the majority of them are suited to being led by an autocratic system.
I doubt that you're from Africa, because you would've known that we have many educated people and when it comes to good governance, both the educated and the uneducated wants democracy because we've seen that it's the way forward to have quality leadership that the people wants. Where we have problems is that there are wicked and selfish individuals who determines the political class that rules in most African countries, that is why people will come out on election days and vote massively for their preferred candidate, in the end the elections will be rigged in broad daylight and there's nothing that the educated people can do about it, because going to court is a waste of time.

For democracy to survive in Africa, these  political thugs must be removed from influencing elections, and how to do that is the question.
506  Other / Off-topic / Re: Handwork or business in this country as it stands now. on: May 04, 2024, 08:18:45 AM
This topic should be more suited in the economic board, you can do well to move it there, also you didn't tell us the country that you're referring to.

Handworks being skills and businesses are both sources of income generation, and they're both very important in any economy to provide goods and services to the people. The major difference between them is that in most cases, starting and running a business requires more money than  rendering services with acquired skills, also it's easier to become rich in a thriving business than in a handwork or skill, because businesses reaches out to more customers then skills which deals only with a client at a time. Although if two individuals that don't have capital, one is going into business and the other is going into skills acquisition, the one that learned a skill will be more successful, because he doesn't need much capital to establish, while the other that chooses business will be struggling to sustain his business.

507  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $5k Shiba Inu vs NEAR on: May 04, 2024, 07:19:42 AM
I'm probably more inclined towards Shiba than NEAR. I feel that the fluctuations on Shiba may be better than those on NEAR. Additionally, I am more familiar with SHIBA than NEAR. However, if you feel that both coins promise big profits, then it would be better to invest 50/50, or perhaps I would also take the 70/30 suggestion if I believe one of them has greater potential without giving up the other coin .
Compering the two, I think that Shiba Inu is more popular than Near, and despite that Near might have more utility than Shiba Inu, it'll still be many investors preference because it's a top memecoin. Apart from Bitcoin and a few top altcoins, other altcoins are quite risky to put money in, so like other commentors, I'll advise that he divides his money to buy the two, instead of one, so he'll minimize his risks, or invest more in the one that he feels more bullish on. Remember to invest the amount that you can afford to loose in altcoins.
508  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Do Not Pressure Anyone Around You To Invest In Bitcoin. on: May 03, 2024, 05:52:04 PM
No be lie, nobody suppose to force or pressure another person to invest in Bitcoin, even if im get di best intentions for di person wey im de tell. You fit to force a horse to the stream but you no fit to force am to drink water from di stream, so you fit to tell your trusted friends about di investment but e suppose be dem choice to decide weda dem wan go ahead with Bitcoin matter or not.

Nobody know am finish, you sabi Bitcoin investment, but e fit to get anoda investment wey de legit and wey de beta pass Bitcoin, and if person de preach dat investment to us, we fit no listen, unto say we don reason say na Bitcoin be di ultimate.
509  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solana price predictions and developement? on: May 03, 2024, 03:52:57 PM
Whoever invests in Solana is aiming for profit. Blockchain has proven to have serious problems in the event of high demand, and it can be almost impossible to broadcast your transaction. However, there is still demand, which means that we may see $1,000 over the next year, but $7,000 is extremely exaggerated and may not absolutely reach this price.
I believe that Solana, will be the most sought after altcoin in this coming bull run, it's gaining so much attention and popularity because of the many activities in it's network, investors are also interested in the tokens in it's network. Despite any issues in their Blockchain, which is due to the high demands in their network, people still have trust in them.

As for it's price reaching $7000 in a new ATH in the bull season, we all know that either the OP is exergeratinng or he meant to say $700, however the bull run goes, I'm quite positive that Solana, will make it's investors richer.
510  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Over the next months meme coin investors will get most rich on: May 03, 2024, 01:44:21 PM
Memecoins investors can get rich and become millionaires there's no doubt about that, some people consider meme projects as get rich quick schemes. But the problem is what percentage of meme investors that gets rich through it? If they're 50% then it's risky business, if they're lesser than that, then it's a gamble, so the question that anybody that's going into memecoins should ask themselves is if they have what takes to invest in the meme space. Whatever the answer, I'll advise anybody to invest the amount that they can afford to loose. You can not compare memecoins to Bitcoin that is a store of value, memes are hype, pump and dump, get in early and exit early or be scammed.
511  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for May on: May 03, 2024, 12:01:22 PM
Almost every prediction about April was wrong because people were too optimistic about the halving and this time I believe people will start to get scared and lower their expectations instead of remaining bullish about the price increase this month. Personally, I don't believe in what the charts show because not only can we do technical analysis but market makers, whales can even create such things. I think how bitcoin will move is entirely dependent on crowd psychology.
If the crowd continues to be bullish, bitcoin's recovery and growth won't happen anytime soon, but if the crowd gradually starts to get scared and stops being bullish, that's when bitcoin will skyrocket.
People were really bullish about Bitcoin price speculation for the month of April, because they were thinking that the post halving will affect price positively, especially the newbies, but we're currently withnessing the opposite, this current dip will not give them the optimism to perhaps aim for anything close to seeing a price surge of up to $75k. I wouldn't speculate to seeing a price surge to that amount, but then this is the crypto market, it's the demand and supply of Bitcoin that'll make the final decision. We're entering bull season so I'm optimistic about price surge but I don't think that it'll start this month.
512  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: In order to reach your target, don't rush! on: May 03, 2024, 10:40:09 AM
The phrase that in order to reach your target that you shouldn't rush is true but it doesn't apply in every decisions and businesses, because it's also said that delay can be dangerous, so there's some kind of businesses can give you the liberty of waiting, while others requires quick decisions. In crypto trading I guess that waiting and not rushing to enter a trade can be rewarding, because the market is volatile and it's not easy to speculate price, but there are some businesses that if you're not able to make quick decisions, someone else will and you'll be at lose. I think that the kind of business or situation that a person is in will determine if they need quick or slow decisions.
513  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Education and the development of skills on: May 03, 2024, 09:11:42 AM
Though both are highly useful, I believe that education is more important than skill acquisition. What do you think about this in today's world, and which would you let your brother, sister, or kids to pursue?
Education and skills acquisitions have one thing in common, they're both achieved by learning, one is in the four walls of a classroom, the other can be anywhere online or offline. They're both very important, education is a basic foundation for everybody, you need to be educated to learn how to read and write, broaden your view on general studies and in tertiary education, you'll understand very deeply about the concepts of your course, education gives you more opportunities to work in established companies. Skills acquisition makes a person to become a professional in their chosen field of work, and people who acquired skills can easily become self employed than very educated people who will be looking for white collar jobs.

Due to the high rate of unemployment in many countries, I think that if a person can get the least basic education, then skills acquisitions is better, because he can become self employed.
514  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Satoshi app legit or scam? on: May 03, 2024, 08:01:02 AM
Has anyone come encounter this Satoshi app that offers Free airdrop to users? A friend of my introduce me to this platform for some months now, so I will like to know if the satoshi app is legit or a scam?

This question puzzle in my heart but haven't tender it here, I have entered a friend intending to lure me into participating on this app airdrop which I resist most time but want to use this medium this link is what he refer me as the Satoshi app, https://www.satoshiapp.xyz/en base on my experience I found it difficult to identify the real app for Satoshi I stand to be corrected if my question see repeated, I here to learn what I don't know whoever that knows the real app of Satoshi should help with the link.
Your question is very valid, although I don't know if what you're showing is the real Satoshi, app, but it's very important to verify anything online before involving in it because of the handiwork of scammers. They'll just copy the real app, make a slight change and put it on social media, impersonating the real app, and unsuspecting victims will download it and be scammed. It's very important to research anything that has to do with online activities, because clicking on an unverified link can expose you to scammers, let's be cautious.
515  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm finding it difficult to login my metamask wallet I need help on: May 03, 2024, 07:05:31 AM
Is working now I think the reason why I was finding it difficult to login is because my wallet version is not updated, so after reading this thread then I decided to update the app to the latest version, and guess what? I'm able to access the wallet now, at first I was thinking that the system has a problem, I never knew is just a minor thing. However I so much appreciate you for your opinion.
It is nice to hear that you were able to solve your problem, since with all the horror stories that we read about hackers stealing money left and right, it is easy to imagine that a technical issue is instead caused by some malicious actors that are trying to steal your money, but fortunately this was not the case for you and you recovered access to your wallet, so from now on make sure that your wallet is updated so this does not happen to you again.
I'm glad that he's able to log into his metamask wallet, knowledge and experience is essential for someone to make right decisions, the problem was just a simple update issue, if he wasn't put through and didn't think of it, he'll never gain access into his wallet. A last option for wallet issues will be to import it and use seed phrase to access the wallet again, but I'm glad that it didn't get to that extent before he found the solution to his problem, knowledge is power.
516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it time for Litecoin to shine again? on: May 02, 2024, 07:22:49 PM
Litecoin could have another surge in popularity & a buying spree for sure. The fact that it’s still here & functioning as it should be shows its strength. It’s obviously never going to flip Bitcoin but there is definitely a good chance Litecoin pumps hard in the upcoming bull run.
I still consider Litecoin, a top altcoin anyday, it's not a shitcoin, so it's still worth holding, we're experiencing price dip in Bitcoin and altcoins, and when Bitcoin starts to bull and activates altcoins bull run too, we'll hopefully see Litecoin, shine again. People say that Litecoin, is remembered anytime that Bitcoin transaction fees begins to hit the roof, and if Bitcoin transaction fees normalizes, then Litecoin, is relegated again, I think that it might not rival Bitcoin, but if it's dev. team is able to add innovations to it, we might see an ATH in the future.

518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you taking advantage of this red market? on: May 02, 2024, 03:19:04 PM
Everyone should, but if there's someone who can take advantage of this dip because of having nothing, you need to prepare for it. Who knows if this is the last dip that we have to go through and then the market will be up again for the bull run. There are certain things that we need to prepare for because no one will know if this dip is likely the start of the recovery afterward. We will see if there's a speedy recovery for the market and entirely with it, once BTC recovers, alts will be up too.
Many Bitcoin investors didn't envisage that price will go this dip, and now it's happening, if anyone has the funds to buy now, they don't need to hesitate and hoping that price will dip further, because the market is volatile, you don't know when price will start rallying upward. So the point is that now is a very good time to buy, nobody knows tomorrow, that is why I tell my friends that people that diligently do DCA method, don't worry about price speculations on the short term. Halving has come and gone, and from research I know that bull run will follow, only that we don't know when it'll start, so any dip during bull run build up is a good time to buy Bitcoin.
519  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CZ Sentenced, Your Bitcoin in their Custody on: May 02, 2024, 01:43:55 PM
<snip> same way they habe been clamping down of other privacy means in which bitcoiner can use to achieve thier goals, i don't wa t to mention the keyword bit we all know about the recent ban thst took effect since January 1st of this year 2024.
I'm struggling to understand your post. Firstly you put binance in the same bunch as privacy services and go on to talk about the privacy risks of using it. What's happening to Binance has nothing to do with reducing privacy of bitcoin users, it's a criminal investigation.

CZ pleaded guilty to the charges, aided be investigation and binance has greed to pay fines to the tune of $4 billion, hence the lighter sentence.
You're absolutely right, the matter on ground is a crime case, which I believe concerns CZ and Binance, it has nothing to do with hack or the exchange going under, the former CEO was fined heavily and given a very light sentence. I guess he'll serve his time, learn his lessons and count his loses, then move on, who knows maybe he'll come back and take over his job.

I think that the OP was just giving us a reminder about not trusting centralized exchanges, that they can go down anytime and sink with investors funds, not your keys not your coins, it's worth mentioning when we're talking about exchanges and crime.
520  Economy / Economics / Re: BRICS has become eleven countries instead of five. on: May 02, 2024, 12:18:34 PM
I think that the BRICS is basically a formation of countries that wants to break the monopoly of the US dollar, as the recognized currency in international trades, because over the years most of these countries have been outstanding economically and technologically. If they're able to achieve this, then that means they'll reduce the dominance of the dollar internationally, and gradually weaken the US as the world power, only one country can not achieve this, so this BRICS alliance can form the synergy to make it happen. It's good that they're inviting countries who share their visions because there's power in unity, but disunity will be their greatest undoings.
