501  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When you are not to gamble. on: March 08, 2024, 05:00:23 PM
Gambling everyday can be end up getting you quite the habit and could recover your finance especially when you decide to chase your loses or try to recover old loses, gambling is a game of uncertainty and it shoudk be followed suite, it's not a job or hobby so why mess yourself with it and most persons who chase their loses are those that fail to follow the rule of gambling which is to invest what you can afford to lose and end up getting stuck in the cycle of trying to balance loses out which can be a huge problem.
502  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Simple mistake that makes you lose everything on: March 08, 2024, 04:57:08 PM
Oh yeah I've got one very funny one, there was one time I was awake at midnight trying to check some predictions sites to see what they've got to add up with mine and it was weekend no other chance to get a lot if games to chose from, I was booking till 2 in the morning and slept off while booking and forgot to play the game with my phone in my hand and when I got up in the morning by 9:30 my phone was switched off and no where to charge it, so I had to bail on the game and guess what it went fyn and I lost all my effort. Sad shit.
503  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you avoid some games because of racism? on: March 08, 2024, 01:37:50 PM
Especially on sports betting we see some racism happening and this happened in most of the league that are popular of which so many persons bet on. It bothers me to ask, that imagine you placed a bet and somehow you have 80% assurance that it would come out successful. And on the process of waiting for the game to end there was some racism manipulation in the game which made you lost the game. It could be football or other sports cause its mostly found in sports.

Next time would you choose to not bet on a particular game because you feel the members of the VAR, or the referee are racist, and you are sure that there would be some manipulation?

Yeah I've experienced stuff like this with man United a season or 2 ago and I noticed how the referee normally helped them to win matches through penalty and apart from that I also notice this in some kind of games where a team in a lower league would beat a team in a higher league just because of history and based on performance it not even supposed to happen.
504  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which type of gambling have more gambling addicts ? on: March 08, 2024, 01:33:17 PM
OP there isn't  problem if this topic has been discussed before, not everyone had to opportunity to participate then but you just gave us another chance at it.

Gambling in general if not controlled would make anyone an addict, and I'm not sure if the type of gambling you engage in matters or would make you more addicted or not, it all boils down to self control.

But I think casino gambling should have a better chance at making you a gambling addict cause you would make friends and if you are a high gambler you might want to keep a big profile for your friends not to think your broke, so I think it becomes a thign of commitment with casino gambling.

Online gambling should be on pair with casinos gambling cause ive seen what this shit has done to people around me, and how hard it is to quite, it so easy you can gamble with smaller amounts and have access to higher rewards, they play on our greed and losing such small amount you would be like what do i have to lose and its easier to get addicted that way.
505  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Decentralized vs Centralized Gambling....Which do you prefer? on: March 08, 2024, 01:22:30 PM
When it come to thigns like gambling I would always chose centralized platforms, cause I've had a better experience with them than decentralized platforms, apart from  the hack issues recently going on with decentralized gambling platforms, other things like high withdrawal fees, transactions getting stuck and more scalability issues, I'll just stick my tail with the centralized platforms.
506  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Interested to learning on: March 06, 2024, 11:23:13 PM
From the way you are sounding, I think you have no basic knowledge on bitcoin and that should be your first concern before investing, I know a lot of you guys are enthusiastic and out the bull run but you must know that you can lose all those holdings if you don't learn about security or how crypto in general works, gather knowledge  bro and if you really want to learn you won't be trying to rush into investing first.

Anyway welcome OP to the forum.
507  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Satoshi Nakamoto Alive ?! on: March 06, 2024, 11:20:33 PM
I don't see any reason the appearance of satoshi would cause a bear market or how it would have any impact on the bull, majority of investors doesn't even know who or what sataoshi is and probably doesn't care, it would probably be a government thign, who knows what charges they have been keeping against him or why he chose to stay hidden, the only fear I guess people would have is the 1 million billion he has and if he choses to sell might cause a big crash for a while and it could start a whole uproar and cause investors to start to withdraw  their money, I guess it's quite possible, but any way he coudl still stay in hiding and sell some bitcoin and at same time it would still have that impact on the market.
508  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: excited to join this forum on: March 06, 2024, 11:15:59 PM
Welcome OP nice having you here with us on this forum, I guess you must first get acquitted with forum rules in oder not to get banned by failing any rules or cheating, this forum has so many boards and different threads with different topic, find one area that best suits the kind of knowledge you want to acquire and start there, you would meet a lot of experts here that would teach you a lot.
509  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A little ignorance and you can lose all your holdings on: March 06, 2024, 11:12:10 PM

I think people should get more educated about bitcoin even before teaching them to accumulate it cause if they are not careful they end up losing it and think about losing 8 years with of accumulated bitcoin just for a ignorant decision like this.

Well, I'm just wondering why for 8 years in crypto they never know what is the best thing to do in order to secure their funds. For that long, I don't think they are still a newbie and unaware of the market risk and hacking incidents. They are not ignorant, they are too unlucky to be a target of hackers because even old-timers sometimes make mistakes.

This is the reason why we should not store our money in one address but rather spread it. That scenario shows us how important is to not just set aside our fund's security but instead, make focus on it and ensure that it is safe at least 99%. Otherwise, we give these hackers easy access to our wallets.

I guess you didn't read through the topic, OP said he wasn't scammed but lost his holdings out of carelessness to a data recovery specialist due to his hard drive that stored his seed phrase was bad, so the whole thing here is either the story is fake or the data specialist somehow knew that he had seed phrase stored there.

Yes that guy has been too old in bitcoin to be less knowledgeable about security and most of all he was a minner, doesn't the whole tech thing means you should know some basic things, I don't think a minner that only in Bitcoin with over 273 bitcoin would be that careless to store his seed phrase in only one hard drive without no alternative.
510  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies how do you feel when your post is criticised. on: March 06, 2024, 11:06:45 PM
There is nothing wrong with criticism as a newbie but on the other hand I've seen people who would only say all the negative and actually give you no correction or even want you to learn, and we have to understand that most newbies before encountering this forum had no knowledge of bitcoin and came here to try to understand some things, it would be better that they they treated like wise as students and to be taught with love and care despite their shit, some have even experienced the tough side of cryptoaybe gotten scammed a few times before they got here so it not fair beign such a critic, I think the whole reason for a beginners board is to groom all the newbies if not there would be no need for it.

Hello, my name is Wojtek, I am 24

I am an amateur artist and musician from Poland and I have recently discovered bitcoin through Mr Antonopoulos.
I’d like to join the network, pursue my interest and be able to pay my bills thanks to bitcoin
My Mac is too old, not eligible for updates  so that I could run bitcoin as well as sluggish with music and my finance situation is not going well for various reasons at this particular time.

I ask if you’d like to support me, the cost is around 800 dollars, I’m also open to redirecting a laptop from the shop without sending cash

If you know also other channels for me to get help or you'd like to contact me for more information, please do.

Nice to have you on the forum OP , but your not in the right place to be asking for support, you would have very little progress cause no one would actually trust for your words even if your story is quite touching.

You should have at least stayed on the forum a bit longer and maybe get known for what you do, if I recall I've seen someone write a poem for bitcoin on this forum even if it was temporary thign, that way people would know you to be real. Right now your no different from a scammer trying to beg. Sorry but it's fact.
512  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: IF NOT FOR GARRI: Drop your story on: March 06, 2024, 08:16:25 PM
Exactly  on where does this post fit?? Because  I really  do not see how this should even be put up on here,  there us no where on this forum that thus fits. Let's  all try to have some  sense of understanding  of how systems work. Thus post would've been  more relevant  in some social media thread or group,  but not on this board. I understand  your enthusiasm  and you trying  to make it informal on here and conducive on that level,  but even if you want  to make posts like these, make it bitcoin  related.
513  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Am a Beginner on: March 06, 2024, 08:12:10 PM
Firstly, you'd have to read the rules and regulations  do you don't  break set rules.
Then I think you'd have to read more than you write on here, that way you gather more information  without having  to worry about rules and all that.  And most of your writings should be help search based. Also, be ready for criticism  on your posts, it's human for people  to reply rudely  to you, but maintain  your cool, and I think you'll be fine. Also try to make useful  contributions  from time to time.
514  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: You misuses your opportunity when you are not afraid of your downfall. on: March 06, 2024, 08:04:39 PM
What you narrated was just a typical example of small mindedness and a person who hasn't been able to face the harsh realities of life. That's all there is to it. This person is on his way to making  bad decisions  and having a wrecked life.

If you're  contented with where you are, there's no wah for you to improve or develop.
Comfort zones are the  bane of development  and progress.
That guy is going to get hurt.
515  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Who plays bigger role in crypto adoption: General public or government ? on: March 06, 2024, 04:35:43 PM
Both parties have a major role in promoting crypto but I think think case of adoption its the individual that does the most, crypto so far has spread through word of mouth and testimonials of people all over the investment, the government  has played their role by either accepting it or not causing individual to either be involved or not, bit has done no means of spreading news about crypto unless in the case of el salvador that now has platform that teach their citizens about bitcoin that's the only exception I know of government involvement and then the ETF approval that is also a case of government playing a role in mass adoption.
516  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How important is Traditional Education on Children in the World on: March 06, 2024, 04:31:29 PM
A good person can be known from the kind of family that he comes from and the kind of practices they observe, if seen many parents that don't give their children the teaching of morality and to respect from young age and when they have grown with such attitudes become a problem for them to handle, many children learn to steal from young age and parents never  gave correction or taught otherwise, current society is at war with most traditional practices but unknowingly removing wisdom from the current generation.
517  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Does power really corrupt? on: March 06, 2024, 04:26:39 PM
Remember the best quote that came from spiderman about power and responsibility. Too much power corrupts, that's true and without a sense of being responsible it destroys those that contain it.

I don't think power is the problem but who wields it, power I'd just a form of ability, it can be influence, physical strength, expertise or other examples that OP mentioned, this are just different abilities that you can have and what you decide to do with it is your choice, if you are bad and have no sence of morality you would still do bad even with your little power available to you, you don't need exceptional power to know what you are really capable of doing.
518  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is politics everyone's business? on: March 06, 2024, 04:21:54 PM
  According to the postulation of a Marxist, who is of the opinion that "politics is a determination of who gets what,  when and how " this from a lame man's interpretation means that the involvement of the people in political affairs determins who in particular should the dividends of democracy be allocated to, when it should be given and how it should be given.
   Ignorantly so many citizens has been neglecting their franchise all in the name of "I'm not interested in politics" in that same act they are also involving in politics but in a  negative way, abstaining from voting may emerge a bad govt. And in return when they make policies it includes everyone in the society. Also during allocation we often times discover that some region tend to be neglected in the same manner they have neglected their franchise.

   So I ask, in your own opinion do you think politics should be the concern of every citizen.

Yes politics should be the concern of every citizen cause if a bad government is elected its affects everyone and if a good one is elected it also affects everyone, if our well beign is our concern then politics should also be everyone's business.

But other cases are when elections are riged and that power us removed from the hands of citizens, this is the case in some counties where power is determined by few and everyone is decived with democracy when the bad shit is going on under.
519  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If you are paid while working for the Church , You will be Poor on: March 06, 2024, 04:13:03 PM
Carry religious debate go were them belong and here to be were to judge which pastor they right and which one way they wrong beside you know no if everybody nah Christian for here all or, I know no how others go view this topic but to me I see am as watin suppose belong to off topic or some kind face book debate post and no be matter to carry come forum here were serious things need to dy discussed.

Ah swear, like what concerns politics and religion, who made you judge, the pastor have said his own and since this year you fit never read any bible but now you have done research because you feel you should say something.

~~~
Then my question to you is, would you spend the time you would have spent to do a job out there just to do it for the church and not charge them money? Assume it is a constant job wherein you need to continuously do it.
Just before you say that you would do the job for free, I wish to remind you that churches across the world pay their pastors. If one church can pay pastors for the word they preach, why can’t it pay others who also put in the work to make the church better?
You mustn’t collect money from the church for your service but when you do, dint let anyone guilt trip you.
Collect money from church for what work exactly, its God's work not man work, God surely rewards those that work for him in full, if the church agrees to pay you fine but if it doesn't fine, the bible also says through prosperity would my kingdom be spread abroad, so the church might be investing in building more branches. Don't let greed for money make you miss out on blessings, did Jesus not also say gather for yourself treasures unto eternal life?
520  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Coping with expectations on: March 06, 2024, 02:16:57 PM
Expectation from people could be the driving force that keeps us going or the reason why some of us gets depressed because of our inability to meeting those expectations.
Because some children did well while growing up in there preliminary classes, people always expect you to come out of the university with destinction and when you're unable to do so, it could get you depressed because it appears most time as though you've failed big time in life and that no one will even understand you at all. I'm at a cross road where my parent and siblings believe so much in me, academically, because I did well in high school but the reality is that I wasn't my best in the university and no one wants to imagine that its a possibility.
How then do I mange the expectation of people on me such that i don't get into depression when I'm  unable to meet up with it.?
It's almost like everyone knows you're going to succeed but don't even care about what you're passing through while you're striving to make them proud.
Firstly know your priorities, do you want be successful and happy with your result and all it took to get there?
Or do you want to be successful with a lot of load on you.
Here's what I mean, family and friends usually put up a lot of pressure on you. You might be doing above averagely well, but they just think you're not doing enough.
They tend to see the worst in your efforts rather than the best of it.
So basically, keep yourself in a serene mental state and be aware of your output and input, and do the best you can
