501  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can family members help a gambling addict? on: March 30, 2024, 03:25:58 PM
In the event that you are one of those close friend to a gambling addict, do you think it is right to tell their loved ones with the intention that they will be able to talk to him and help him overcome his addiction? Can the advice of loved ones even help?
If the addicted friend has family members who love and care for him genuinely, I think it's right to tell them what is going on with the addicted person. This way you will bring enlightenment to them, ceasing the confusion and affliction of not understanding why the addicted gambler is acting in strange manners, probably away from the family, aggressive, unstable, introspective.

Everyone in such situation would like someone could bring important informations to them in order to find the truth behind those behaviors, so they can start thinking about potential solutions for the addiction issue. I believe if it was the opposite, I would like someone to share with me why a family member of mine was acting like that as well, so why wouldn't I do this for others too?

Every support from close people are valid, although the cure can only come from the person himself. That is, he must really wish to get rid of his addiction for his own good. When it happens, then the support from family and friends is effective.
502  Other / Off-topic / Re: How can we help beginners not to get addicted on: March 30, 2024, 03:12:44 PM
The issue is that beginners start gambling too excited about winnings they dream making from gambling. They don't think about the losses, rather they think only about the bright side of entering the casino with few hundreds of dollars, and quitting with few thousands of dollars... I believe it happens due to the way they are introduced to gambling by friends, acquaintances or internet influencers, as these people will tend to show only the positive aspects of gambling, while neglecting the possibility of having losses as well.

Proper guidance makes total difference in these cases, as it will help newbies having a realistic view over gambling. Not every of them will listen, anyway, because there are very stubborn people among us, but for a portion of them it will be indeed very helpful, so newbies can start playing with lower sums of money to test the games by themselves and see what they can expect from it for real, before putting big money on the table.

Personally, when I began playing Bitcoin dice, I had the wrong impression about gambling, just like many newbies. It was only after I lost some money I didn't expect to lose that I realized the nature of crypto gambling wasn't different from traditional forms of gambling we had before internet and cryptocurrencies. So, I got more careful about it.
503  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Going all in and losing the bet on: March 29, 2024, 04:07:35 PM
Then I have all sorts of thoughts blaming casino, like do they manipulate the result of the game when user goes all in. I am sure they are all fair, it's just that the possibility of losing the game may be minimal but it's never 0.
It does happen, especially if you are placing many small bets for too long already. The worst result I had on Hi-Lo game was 3 consecutive losses betting with more than 90% winning chance. It really seems unlikely to happen, because you never imagine you will lose 3 time in a row with so large winning chances at your favour, so it's natural we start doubting the legitimacy of the casino, although in the end we can't prove anything, besides being aware that even though the scenario is unlikely to happen, it's not impossible, anyway.

For that reason, I guess it doesn't worth to place bets with high winning chances anymore. Because even though there are massive chances of winning, the profit made is just too low and doesn't worth the risk which is still there, despite being a low risk bet. On long run, you will see this strategy is one of the less profitable and most treacherous ones. Personally, I learned that the hard way...
504  Economy / Economics / Re: How does one know and join the right community after a job loss? on: March 29, 2024, 03:47:46 PM
My question is that, how does one go about joining the right community to fulfil a dream after a job loss?

How does one know the right persons to follow and community to join to help them achieve their dream or purpose in this life?
I believe you have to seek for sharing relationships and coexistence with people who have similar goals and purposes in life you have. People who are congruent to your values, beliefs and principles. This way, one will work as a powerful fuel for the another by his side, in a mutual engagement where one inspire each other, being really helpful for your personal development and enhancement. You have to avoid people who will take you down, stress you, or disturb your focus in life.

And here I include bad friends, family members and lovers, as they have potential to make your life regress if you don't pay attention to, and if you become submissive or dependant to them.

Now, how you are going to find his appropriate group is a hard question. I don't think there is a guaranteed recipe for that. These things usually happen naturally in life. You just have to be intuitive enough to know when your time comes, to not waste the opportunity of joining together with people who really matter to have around you.
505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sam Bankman Fried (scam banker fraud) 25 years on: March 29, 2024, 03:32:04 PM
Although he should have gotten more than 25 years in prison, the sentence brings some hope for investors that justice isn't totally alienated from what happens in crypto universe. This sentence will be helpful to intimidate potential scammers who are still running their schemes to not be so confident on the impunity. Besides Bankman Fried, Mashinsky from Celsius is also arrested and may also be sentenced to several decades in prison. Meanwhile, Celsius investors have already received about 33% of the scammed money back to their Coinbase accounts. What about FTX's users?

I just think these scammers should have their patrimonies seized in order to pay off the losses they caused to the users of their platforms.
506  Other / Off-topic / Re: What if an employee of a betting company misuses company funds for gambling? on: March 29, 2024, 03:20:37 PM
Do you think a betting company or casino will understand and not arrest an employee who has access to company funds and then misuses it for gambling?
I don't think the company will understand, because they will be suffering a direct impact over the sustainability of their business, what can completely compromise the capacity of this company paying their operational expenses, besides paying gamblers' withdrawals. In other words: the mistake of a single employee can lead the casino to bankruptcy, if the issue isn't addressed in time.

If this employee claims that he is battling from gambling addiction, will he be considered for a lighter punishment?
Maybe. It will depend on who this employee is, what he has already done for the company and how the relationship with his boss is. Then the manager may be more or less strict with him when deciding for an appropriate punishment.

If you own such a casino or betting platform, what will you do to such an employee, understanding that addiction to gambling can make people make decisions that are unexpected.
As said earlier. It will always depend on who the employee is. If I see he is a good person, but is struggling to fight addiction back, I could have mercy, but if the bad character of the employee is immediately identified, I wouldn't be merciful to his cause. In every cases, the fact is that the employee has to be instantly removed from his functions in order to not generate further prejudices for the business.
507  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you been kicked out of a casino? on: March 29, 2024, 02:50:01 PM
Have you been in this situation before?
It's a pleasure to hear your story.
No. I always follow the rules of the house where I'm playing, so there is no reason for them to kick me. I remember when I was underage I was curious and excited to access a casino for real to see how it really was, since I had only conceptions of it inside my mind, through my imagination. Casinos are illegal in my country, but there are clandestine ones working around, and that is where I would like to go. However, even the clandestine ones are very strict regards not allowing underage gamblers inside their dependencies, and those who tried to cheat them in order to enter the house, have indeed been kicked out.

For that reason, I waited until I reached adulthood to finally go to one of those casinos. In the end, it wasn't so excited as I imagined before, maybe because I was used to the concepts shared by movies and videogames.
508  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the #1 rule you live by in sports betting? on: March 29, 2024, 02:31:21 PM
The #1 rules I always remember is only used the money I can afford. Without that, I will only loses much money and will makes me to playing gambling longer than usual. That means, I can loss more money and makes me sad or regret. I always trying to follows my rule and not trying to breaks it because that will makes me gets a bad experiences playing gambling. Besides that, I already have that bad experiences in the past so I don't wants to gets the same experience.

I can playing gambling without using much money or without too long because I only wants to enjoy my spare time. That's why I always trying to manages my limitations and not breaking it.

This is for general gambling answer and not specifically for sports betting because there’s no way to play for a long time on sports betting because each game has waiting time before the bets settled so unless you are just randomly placing bets on any live match available on sportsbook then it’s possible but most of the time no user doesn’t spend match time on placing bets because bettors usually analyze first outside the casino then just place bet once they already have the pick in mind.
The 'don't play with money you can't afford to lose' rule is a general rule which can be applied to any gambling games, including sports betting, even though it's a specific for that category of gambling. However, it doesn't make it less important, since it's the basic guideline every gamblers have to follow in order to keep this activity functional inside their daily routines and finances.

The fact we have to wait for results when betting on sports doesn't mean the gambler is armored against the temptation of chasing losses and spending more money than they should in the present moment. The gambler can place just one bet daily, but if he can't afford doing that, he will have issues in the end of a time period, like a month or so. Therefore, it's never wise to neglect the most basic rule of responsible gamblers. It must be kept in mind all the time!
509  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How does affilate programs work in casinos? on: March 28, 2024, 05:35:30 PM
Am curious right now, to know how does affiliates program work in gambling. I know gambling is big niche and they also run affiliate programs, so anyhow have an idea?
Find your personal referral link in your casino account and share it across the internet hoping that someone will sign up on the platform through your personal link, becoming your referral as consequence. You will receive a comission the amount of money your referrals wager on the casino. They don't have to win in order to generate profit for you. They just have to wager and you will be already earning. Rates may vary from platform to platform, so check which of them are more interesting for you to promote.

You should also check which platforms have more potential to bring you referrals, since the most popular ones are likely to not give you positive results, since it's probable most people around already know it, and already have an account there. Casinos which are still growing and getting recognized are better options in this case.

Anyway, to hunt referrals is a hard task, and may not bring the results you are looking for, since many of them can be inactive or active users who are just hunting freebies on the internet, what means they aren't going to deposit money to play and won't wager large sums of money to generate you some decent income.
510  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does gambling excites you ? on: March 28, 2024, 03:03:47 PM
Does gambling excites you? What motivates you, winning or just the fun in it ?
I've already felt more excited about gambling in the past and I try to not awake that excitement regards gambling these days anymore, because I feel like I shouldn't develop a gambling routine right now, due to having another financial schedules which comes first. To get excited about gambling right now would be noxious to me, because I would be betting with money I can't afford to lose, so better to not find any motivations on this activity for now.

That is just me personally, but if you are going to find a motivation for yourself to gamble, it should always consist on the fun you will have while playing. Of course you will also find fun on potential winnings, but that can't be the sole reason why you are gambling, because then there are high chances you will end frustrated when losing money, and tempted to continue playing in order to chase losses. That is something you have to avoid at all costs!
511  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Karate Combat on: March 28, 2024, 12:55:53 PM
The idea of introducing Karate sport to the gambling board is very interesting and allow gamblers to have access to a wider range of sports to bet on, going beyond the traditional options we usually have at betting platforms. However, do we really need a specific token in order to bet on Karate fights? Couldn't these fights be just introduced at sports books where we can place bets with Bitcoin? That would be the most reasonable alternative in my opinion.

The way it's done, especially on the peak of a new ATH, it looks just another project aiming to raise funds through their native token to take advantage of a temporary hype, while the sport itself stays in second plan.

Some of you maybe know that Ben Armstrong better known as Bitboy also had one fight in Karate Combat and he won.
Lol, the chubby boy who lead lots of investors into scammy lending platforms during the previous bull run of 2021 is back... I'm not surprised he defeated his adversary at Karate fight, though, since he has already a long history of defeating his fans in the past, who lost money to the scams he promoted.
512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rich or poor gambler, who should risk more? on: March 27, 2024, 10:26:34 PM
many people does not know the actual time to gamble they thought that gambling is meant for everybody and the gambling is a only source of way of eliminating poverty but they don't know but gambling can even make them to lose whatever thing they have because when you are addicted in gambling you cannot do without the gambling you will be gambling almost every day by day and if you are lucky then you benefit from it and if you are not lucky you lose whatever thing you have true gambling that is why it is good to be a pensionable worker before you engage in yourself into gambling
People who think gambling is the only method to eliminate poverty from their lives, they are taking a complete wrong approach towards this activity. Most gamblers are going to lose money the more they play, therefore for most people it's not going to work as a financial life changer. Even if they aren't addicted gamblers, they can't expect gambling to turn their lives around, because that is not what this hobby activity is supposed to do. The debate about gambling is going on through the internet for a long time already and we have already discussed it here many times.

The conclusion is pretty simple: if the goal is to make money, to thrive financially and to achieve prosperity, the individual should seek for alternative ways to do it which don't involve gambling with his money, or at least which don't involve gambling with a large portion of his money, because the chances are that it's not going to end well after a while... Very few people achieved richness through betting and it will be always like that, because that is the nature of the game.
513  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Biden resurrects 30% crypto mining tax in new budget proposal on: March 27, 2024, 09:33:00 PM

30% tax is too much for crypto mining because the mining speed is very low now so if a miner pays 30% tax to the government on electricity bill and other processing machine cost then I don't know if that miner can make profit or not.  I have never mined so I don't know much about the mining rate.  So I can't make an accurate estimate of how much profit a miner would have if he paid 30% of his mining tax to the government.

the goal of the government in doing something like this would be to curtail mining activities. to make it less profitable, if at all. sure they want to put some people out of business. that's the entire goal.
Indeed. When governments create abusive regulations like that, it means they want to curb people from certain practices, instead of directly regulating a ban or censorship over it, what would eventually bring criticisms and accusations against the government of being a tyrannical one, which doesn't respect individual freedom of its citizens. Anyway, why is US government so worried about the electricity usage for crypto mining purposes? Are they going to face any energy crisis if americans start using their power to mine crypto in large scale?

Otherwise, why would they want some people out of the business?
514  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Future of Gambling on: March 27, 2024, 09:19:49 PM
Maybe in the future that we'd go back to some traditional ways of investing with the casino that are also building their reputation. There's a win-win situation for most of them when they're also allowing their users to invest into their bankrolls.
It would be a very good feature if big casinos introduced this to their users. These are the casinos which would be really profitable for investors to invest their funds on their bankrolls. To invest in brand new casinos which are still building their reputations is a risky deal, because the chances of being scammed are superior, besides the fact these casinos don't have a solid userbase of customers yet, what means profitability is going to be inferior than when investing in a big company with a large daily traffic and high volume of bets.

Anyway, going with the futuristic approach, who knows if some smaller devices like watches will be programmed to get some access even without having the internet connection but because of satellite connection it is possible to connect for that specific brand that's releasing gadgets like that so you're free to really gamble everywhere you want to.
But then, where would be the screen to display the gambling games? A watch is a too small device to gamble from. You would still need a bigger one, like a smarphone or tablet to execute your bets and see the games' tables, unlesss technology evolves at a point where you can see everything virtually inside your own mind, like thoughts crossing through it. Can you imagine it? It seems surrealist, and at same time dangerous and intrusive. But I guess that is where neural chips are going to lead humanity into.
515  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: March 27, 2024, 09:07:33 PM
For some reason, their marketing team and graphical designer seems to be working because I regularly receive promotional emails.
It seems the business is fully working on automatic mode for a while already. These promotional emails and posts made by their official account here on this thread are all done by bots, so I guess that is how they are running the business. There is no real human direct contact with customers. But you are right, it seems there is still someone creating the graphical art concepts of their promotions and betting events, although that is all...

Maybe they do this to reduce operational costs and keep the website alive.

You might ask DT members to tag Freebitco for not solving your case. They will probably place a neutral tag at first and then negative tag if your case isn't resolved.
That is what I thought to happen once OP created his scam accusation thread, but so far, no effect was achieved and very few posts were made there by bitcointalk community.
516  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: User experience Trends in Online Gambling: What's Next? on: March 27, 2024, 08:47:15 PM
- what improvements or features would you specifically appreciate or suggest (what is missing)?
Skill based games where players can bet against each other, while having chances to make profit on long run, since these aren't entirely luck based games, so the more skilled and more time players put into learning the game and its possible strategies, more likely it will be that the gambler is rewarded for his efforts in the end. The house would still profit a comission over every game, anyway, despite the winners being player A or B, so it wouldn't be risky or unprofitable to introduce this category of gambling game to casinos.

Actually, I don't understand why they haven't done that yet, because it seems a good way to make their services to be adopted by a larger userbase of customers, going beyond the traditional gamblers, also bringing gamers together and raising their profits, as consequence. Maybe in the following years we will see something like this happening, once the current model displayed by gambling houses get saturated.
517  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How possible is it to win lottery 14 times using mathematics calculations on: March 26, 2024, 10:56:36 PM
Leave your opinion if you think it's 100% luck to be  winner or there is a particular skill needed.
He didn't show any proof, so everything he has is his word in his favour... What intrigues me is that CIA and FBI investigated him, but he was cleared, what makes me conclude he wasn't acting in collusion with the people who ran the lottery draw. I think it will always be a mistery in the case of this mathematician, although here in my country I also know some individuals who won on the lottery a dozen of times, but that was because they had schemes with the lottery owners (corrupt people). There was even an iconic "lucky" winner who won 12 times on the lottery in 14 days who became a deputy at the legislative federal house. He said: "It was pure luck. I swear to God. I'm a very faithful guy".

That is why you should make sure the house you are playing has provably fair feature enabled, so this kind of "lucky" gambler won't steal the winning from an honest gambler who deserves winning the prize.
518  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Shohei Ohtani Gambling Saga on: March 26, 2024, 10:17:28 PM
Investigations are being conducted by FBI, but so far we can't say the athlete is guilty in this case, because he may have been betrayed by his close friend who was using his money to place bets on sports, although none of them so far were pointed to have been placed on baseball matches. Personally, I would like to believe the japanese athlete is innocent and that he didn't know about anything, what isn't hard to assume, anyway, since we know addicted gamblers are capable of doing anything in order to feed their addictions, including to betray and put their closest ones in very delicate situations which can completely destroy their reputations.

Let's see what the next news are going to bring us regards this case. In every cases, I just hope the truth prevails!
519  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How old would you be by 2140? on: March 26, 2024, 09:05:21 PM
I agree. Adding to what you say, we don’t even know what technology will be in existence by then. What if Bitcoin will have its turn till a new innovation comes to place? It’s Just the same way we thought something else was the best before Bitcoin was created. From Bitcoin to Ethereum, and other Altcoins that has brought some idea somehow. Who knows what tech will be next.
Yes, it's possible Bitcoin won't remain popular for an entire century or even more, because the technology is in constant development and upgrades tend to be introduced in shorter intervals of time the more we advance in time and as technology gets widely adopted by more people than before. I think it's a fact Bitcoin will still exist for all these years coming ahead, but the possibility of existing without the interest and attention it has today from many people, is one of the predictable scenarios.

I can imagine some Bitcoins left to be mined, and rewards per block being too low, while miners who were active on this industry before already moving themselves to another sectors which will be profitable in the future. Probably sectors which don't even exist by now, but which will be discovered or created in the following decades.

If humans have success exploring the universe above us, I think that will be a sector of interest from many human entrepreneurs and businessmen.
520  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how long do we think memecoins narrative is going to last ? on: March 26, 2024, 03:48:36 PM
Now, do you really think this memecoin will do a thing especially when I believe the meme season is over
I believed the memecoin trend was already over, since it was a hype from the previous bullish run and hypes in this market tend to change from cycle to cycle. However, it seems it's not totally over yet, and there are still big money coming into these speculative investments. Personally, I would never invest in such assets, because everyone knows their true nature and reason why their prices are pumping... These investments are just too volatile and don't offer any security to investors. It's not like Bitcoin or a consolidated altcoin which you know to have solid bases, institutional investors and an active team of developers providing their own blockchains.

On the other hand, if you are a risks seeker, enjoys living under high adrenaline and dream about massive financial returns, then memecoins can be a viable gambling alternative for you. Yes, by investing in such assets you are always gambling with your money, as results will be pretty random, since no analysys can predict the future of a memecoin, rather it's fully driven by speculative investors, especially whales.
