Rather ironic that the US has been heralded as the breeding ground for new technology, what with Silicon Valley and all, yet living in the US is actually a huge disadvantage for any entrepreneur who wants to be part of one of the most important technological advancements ever.

Miners: The Gathering. http://www.bitell.com/t/2157

It's enlightening to watch as a new industry is born.

Having some issues with intermittent connectivity on both Windows and Linux. Tried another cable and it works fine now.

It seems that the tiny micro-USB cables the Trezor shipped with aren't that great.
I have this issue.  Have not tried a new cable yet.  Even more anoying when my Trezor is attached I periodically lose my external (USB) keyboard and have to unplug and replug the keyboard.  Plus all the be-boop, boo-beeps going on.

Had the same issue with the keyboard, but it was my built-in keyboard on the laptop. Problem went away after trying a new cable.

I stopped trying to predict what the price on Havelock does, lotto numbers haven proven themselves easier to forecast for me.

That's because they are easier to forecast.

I see what you did there... :-D

Seriously, I don't know why I let it bother me so much. Maybe I'm just frustrated that ASICMINER can't be arsed to put together a simple line of communication that isn't as abjectly useless as this goddamn forum thread. They're a multi-million dollar company and they don't have a website, or even a mailing list. I put together that fucking stupid ASICMINER Watch site in about three hours, and that's including the time spent dicking around with a new CSS framework that I eventually ditched. A MailChimp list would be even quicker. But no... we're stuck on this goddamn forum thread.

Those motherfuckers. They're the only motherfuckers in the mining space I trust at all right now, which is why I own shares, but they're still terrible at communication. And 90% it comes from the fact that this is their official line of communication.

It would be nice to have more communication, but I trust Friedcat and the ASICMiner team with my investment more than any other company in the mining space as well. They've earned that trust.

Another issue is by lowering the bar, they're opening fiat/crypto trading to a lot of incompetent people (just look at altcoins exchanges...).

The fact that CFIG will make starting an exchange easier for incompetent people is something I've worried about since hearing about it. Hopefully it ends up being expensive enough to set up an exchange account that idiots will be dissuaded.

I have to say, I'm quite impressed with the Trezor so far. It's extremely simple to use. Explaining how to use it to family and friends who are less technically-inclined than the average bitcoinaut actually seems within reach.

I thought at first I would dislike the myTrezor wallet, but its accessibility (able to use from any machine) and its simplicity is wonderful. Waiting for a while to store any significant amount of funds on the Trezor is a good idea, to ensure that bugs get eradicated. Keeping only spending cash on it for now, at least until Multibit HD is released with Trezor support.

No regrets as far as paying 3 BTC for one. It's worth every satoshi to have supported the launch of one of the most important devices in Bitcoin.

Just got my Trezor.

Was setting it up on myTrezor.com. After entering in the initial pin, I get "Error! string overflow" at the top of the page.

It appears that the buffer limit is 9 characters. If this is simply an issue with the myTrezor site, it'd be nice to get it fixed and have a longer pin. If it's a limitation on the device itself, I hope that proper safeguards have been put in place to avoid buffer overflows with the pin entry.

That aside, excellent job guys!

Wow, this looks great. Is Havelock running this software now, or planning on doing so in the future? Also, can you name any names that are already using this (besides Havelock) or will be using this?

Havelock deals only in bitcoin. Crypto Financial's services are for institutions that must deal with fiat.

Excellent. Looking forward to the months ahead.

Exchanges are about to get a whole hell of a lot better.

513  Economy / Goods / [WTS] 2013 1 BTC Casascius brass coin (funded & uncirculated) on: May 19, 2014, 05:49:16 PM
Selling one 2013 Casascius brass coin (1 BTC). This coin is as it was received from Mike Caldwell in April 2013.

Hologram is fully intact. It will come in a coin case.

Asking 2.2 BTC including US shipping (Priority Mail). I'll ship internationally for the additional cost.

It would make sense for AM to offer Rockminer a discount for bulk chip purchases. This would make sense for any large buyer.

Anything other than that simply isn't going to happen. Rockxie will already benefit by an indirect "discount" through getting dividends from the sales Rockminer generates for AM. If you bought AM equipment as a shareholder, you got this "discount" too, although it was probably much smaller.

I'll just chime in and say: Yesss!

Forget about the divs. With those news I propose to donate last week's divs to FC and his team for a fun night out in... wherever they're located!

I second this  Wink

...you people do realize that Bitfountain holds over 200,000 shares, right?
516  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: March 24, 2014, 11:22:16 PM
I hope ASICMINER has like 1 PH/s online hashing for shareholders before Rockminer gets 1 single chip.

That should be the case in a perfect world but hey, only time will tell

...Unless it's more profitable to sell the chips.
517  Economy / Securities / Re: [ANN] [ROCKMINER] IPO Announcement - miners using GEN3 ASICMINER chips on: March 24, 2014, 01:24:06 PM
I don't understand how you plan to hold the IPO. Will it be held on rockminer.com, or will it be held on the forums? Also, will you be associating shares with BTC addresses, using the same sort of method as Asicminer?

We plan to issue the IPO with paying bitcoins to the IPO address directly,we collecting payment BTC addresses for dividend addresses.Yes, the same as ASICMINER. So if you are interested, you should send bitcoins from a wallet which you have private keys.

The IPO address will release later.

Ok. If someone pays the IPO address 10 BTC from 5 different addresses, they will need to hold onto those 5 addresses forever in order to keep their shares?
518  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: March 24, 2014, 01:16:06 PM
Since there's a minimum limit of 100 shares during the IPO, has anyone thought about doing a passthrough/groupbuy? That way one wouldn't have to risk as many BTC and it could enable small investors to participate as well. The problem is, there isn't much time left. If there's no one doing this yet, and you trust me, send a short PM and let me know the amount of shares you'd be interested in. Transfer of the shares to your address after trading is enabled, if possible, or an ongoing passthrough. If there are enough people interested, we could move ahead, otherwise just forget about it immediately. Of course I'd also be willing to identify myself to some trusted member if it is feasible, in case you're worried. I'd be doing this for tips or, say, 2% of the divs in case of a PT.

Will there be a passthrough at Havelock for those of us who can't afford to spend at least 10-15 BTC on the minimum amount of 100 shares?

Yes,after IPOed.
