Difatti basta leggere un po' di più in giro (e non parlo di repubblica e altra carta straccia) e avere almeno un po' osservazione e senso critico. Probably a good idea to take all funds out of keys generated with this program until this risk is resolved... Can you elaborate? Is the risk lack of entropy in the RNG? the other thread doesn't mention this tool explicitly... I don't think anyone knows for sure what's up yet. I spoke to TheButterZone on IRC and he said it was this tool. Although I recognize the theoretical possibility of a collision, I believe the concept that this vanity generator created a collision or has a weakness making collision even remotely possible (to any realistic degree) is baseless speculation. Nonetheless, here is my post on the thread in question. I will follow up in a couple days. Happy holidays. It happened to me. Three weeks ago I was interested in creating some "serial" vanity addresses. Looking around to find an offline generator, I found Simple Vanity, I knew it was slow (on my netbook it really crawled), but it didn't need compiling to work under Linux, it had a cute GUI, and I just wished to try out with some very short vanity word (mostly acronyms from 2 to 3, maybe 4 characters, excluding the 1). Used it very occasionally for 3/4 days, then, after it found the nth address I was looking for, I saved it, restarted and after a minute or so it found another one, to my surprise the address was identical to another previous generated one! I stopped using it, and I am afraid it is better to never use that bunch of addresses. |

bene, quello che pensavo, non c'entra nulla con quello che dico io. IN pratica il bot vende se il prezzo aumenta, compra se scende. Maddai. E poi non credo che la gente normale abbia di questi bot ha disposizione. Il mio sistema non necessita di bot.
Senti, visto che giustamente non mi conosci e non ti fidi, ti propongo una cosa: se testerai il sistema e vedrai che non funzionerà, o non funzionerà dando i guadagni nel range che ho detto, ti renderò i 2 bitcoin. Se non lo farò, equivarrà a dire che sono un truffatore: a quel punto bannatemi pure dal forum.

Maybe it could help having a friend or more with a shop, or better, a childhood friend, and convince him/her. Like I have done here, in italy. Not sure it will work, but we need to start somewhere. |

Is that backup file encrypted?
It's probably not yet relevant, but I fully expect it will be in future: Any app can read from external storage (SD card). As soon as unencrypted private keys on unprotected storage become common enough, malicious apps will read and leak them.
It wasn't encrypted. I'm talking about the last version of Android Wallet that still "worked" under Android 2.1, it was months ago. I didn't install almost anything anymore on that phone, and I'm not using any wallet app too. I tried to install Electrum (i liked the idea of a phone/PC synced wallet) on a new Android phone, not rooted, but without luck. |

I used Titanium Backup to import keys in MultiBit, but you need to be root.
Make a backup of Bitcoin Wallet, look for the archive
de.schildbach.wallet-SOME_DATE_HERE.tgz
open it, look for data/data/de.schildbach.wallet/./files/key-backup-base58
If you're root, you can just as well pull this file from the device directly, without taking the Titanium detour. I had a mess on my phone at that time (SGS and Android 2.1... bleah), it wasn't working well anymore and I needed to uninstall most of the apps to have an usable phone, fortunately I had those backups on my sd card. |

Is there a way to export the private key unencrypted? I need to see it, so I can import it in another client, like the desktop clients. Also, is there a way to import your own private key?

OK, se volete sia un incontro per pochi eletti, e "nottambuli". Ma se volete maggiore partecipazione non si può pretendere che gente che viene da Trento, Bologna, HostFatLandia  ecc., si faccia tutti quei km per poi trovarsi col problema del pernottamento. Non tanto per la questione Hotel di per sè, ma semplicemente perchè la mattina dopo, magari, hanno altri impegni. Chi vuole può rimanere anche fino alle due di notte, nessuno lo impedisce, mi pare. E se finalmente sta arrivando la primavera, anche il sole può dare un'ottima atmosfera. |

if you post a constructive description of what does not work, it might get improved. I made a more detailed report in this thread: it doesn't even start on my tablet. So nothing works. I just checked it out; indeed there was a problem with the page. try now (rescan the qr code), it should work. Still not working form me, same problem as before. Even after removing the previous installed files. It crash at the same point. It didn't froze the phone this time, but after a few retry the phone rebooted itself. |
