501  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: MPoolMonitor 2.8 - monitors most pools, idle worker email notification on: August 05, 2013, 01:20:03 AM
Haven't actually looked at your program, but I did something similar for slush just as a personal project, and included a general network statistics section from blockchain.info API.  It might be cool to show the entire network speed, difficulty, expected difficulty jump, etc.  Here's what I have on my little php script:

Using (blockHeight - (blockHeight Mod 2016)) to grab the last difficulty change block, i can extrapolate from that and timestamps to determine how much faster the network is going than the target expects it to.

Just a thought.

Nine hour block!!! Ughh!   Shocked Angry
503  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy#1] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! Using JohnK as escrow! FINISHED! on: August 04, 2013, 12:07:30 PM
I will be selling my 540 chips in this group buy, PM me with reasonable offers over the original group buy cost will be considered. I'd prefer to sell to those already in this group buy first. Best offer over BTC43.5 will get the lot. Serious offers will be responded to quickly. Selling out to start production on another miner / usb hub project and need the capital.

Wow Bicknellski.  What's happening to your K1 Nano project?  Are you just dismantling?
504  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner USB group buy REOPENED! (previous customers only!) .175 per unit! on: August 03, 2013, 04:26:17 PM
Payment and email sent for one.  Eagerly awaiting distribution of extras to pay for more.

Thanks!

That's my third low block today.  First one got fixed just before confirmation; second on is height 249854, although that one may have seen some downtime on my miners.  Either way, bummer to see 3x in one day.
506  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner USB group buy REOPENED! (previous customers only!) .175 per unit! on: August 03, 2013, 03:41:22 AM
i got confirmation from friedcat last night: original order is the limit, NOT 30%. 512 units available. everybody is welcome to order their original amount. you'll get it. more then that? we'll see how many are left. i don't think that the original buyers will all step forward, but as you can see from the spreadsheet, that hardly matters.

There are already 2 that have been abdicated (as per the spreadsheet).  How to allocate the extra?  I say the order of original payment.  Obviously I'm biased because I paid first, but I think my tenacity and willingness to participate and trust Arklan should be rewarded.  Maybe once we get to the end of the order period, we round robin the rest?  Allocate one extra straight down the list until either the extra are gone or everyone who wants one has gotten an extra, and then restart from the top?

Either way, I've just confirmed I can take up to 20 if available.

How do we go about with payment?  Pay for the original worth and then we'll have another payment period once extras are determined?  Is the August 9th deadline yours Arklan or friedcats?

the deadline is mine.

as to allocating the extra... man, no idea. round robin sounds like a plan to me. what you guys think?

obviously, anyone who has paid for more above their original order will get refunded anything corresponding to units they won't actually get.
So everyone that wants extras will get an even amount of whats left over?

That's what it looks like; unless there aren't enough, and then so far the consensus is round robin until they're gone.  Guaranteed that those who participated will snap up all extras.  Anyone who didn't participate in the last group buy need not apply here.

Hey guys sorry for being mia for so long. I have been dealing with family and personal issues. There was a death in the family and that triggered a relapse to my depression. I have been going to therapy and I was told not to do anything work related to reduce stress. I had my last session today and I feel great. I will be going through all the posts and PM's on Monday. And everything will be back on track and schedule on Monday. I'm just making this quick post for now. Thank you for your understanding.

He's alive!

How comes BTC are only 3 times bigger, yet find a massive order of magnitude more blocks more regularly?

Variance is big, even for large pools.  Also...your data from BTC Guild is significantly out of order.  BTC Guild's average block solve time is ~30-45 minutes.  Slush's is ~2 hours (doing rough math).

That is *average* time.  Both pools have rounds lasting seconds/a few minutes, or multiple hours.

Slush for the last month has averaged about 1:23:04 per block.  The last 14 days has been about 1:25:09.  Just FYI; I keep track. Smiley

I'm concerned regarding the 30% tidbit.  If we only get 30% at this time, then we'd only get 150.  I think the MOST FAIR way to distribute it is this:

For each buyer, you get 1. If I am reading the spreadsheet correctly that's 97 (150-97=53).  Then, if you ordered 4 or more, you get a crack at a second one.  44 people ordered more than 3 (53-44=9).  Anyone with more than 10 gets a crack at a third one.  That's 7 more (9-7=2).  The final two can go to Arklan as a tip. Smiley  Thoughts?

Edit: Clarity

Any word on the extras?  I'm definitely down for one to match my previous order, but I need to know about the multiples to put the BTC together.
513  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner USB group buy REOPENED! (previous customers only!) .175 per unit! on: August 02, 2013, 02:20:28 AM
um... 0.175?Huh?

500 please??

sorry noitev, you weren't in the original group buy, so i can't offer this to you. Sad

How can some suppliers/group buys give a price of .1 BTC, when some say that "Friedcat hasn't confirmed this with them or made an announcement about it" (or something along those lines.) Are these other group buy operators charging a .35-.45 mark up, or is FriedCat only giving this deal to certain suppliers?

It kind of sucks.. I ordered a lot of them from 2 people that are not offering the .1 BTC price.

The way I see it this is an attempt to compensate buyers who bought in at 2 btc.  Watching people get one for .55 btc kind of chafes.  I think this is friedcat's way of showing his customers some good will.  If you didn't buy at 2 btc then, you don't get the reduced price now.
514  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner USB group buy REOPENED! (previous customers only!) .175 per unit! on: August 02, 2013, 01:59:26 AM
I'm definitely in for 1 to match my original order; up to 10 if I can get extra.
515  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Bicknellski K1 Nano USA Only Group Buy [Closed] on: August 01, 2013, 09:11:33 PM
Sorry guys; closing down.

Thanks for the votes of confidence though, and thanks to Bicknellski for offering up a great product!  Can't wait to see it in action.
516  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: July 31, 2013, 08:32:04 PM
I can't imagine any viable scenario where steamboat provides refunds.  It is asking him to buy back a risk that we took.  That wasn't the deal at all.  The group buys wouldn't exist if he had to insure everyone against loss.

Avalon was a known counter party at the beginning that has had the ability to ruin it or make it for everyone.

If other people want to buy out each others risk then maybe some arrangement can be made.  But any scenario where the liability is assigned to the guy that made the opportunity possible isn't right.

+1

Man some people have the attention span of a cocker spaniel...

Was just notified that one of my posts was removed from this thread -- it consisted of "+1" as a comment to someone else's post, that didn't appear inflammatory or otherwise inappropriate. Has anyone else had a post yanked for some reason?

I believe it was stated elsewhere on the forums that moderators would be actively removing "+1" posts as they just serve to clutter up a thread.

517  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Mount your Avalon ASIC Chips at reasonable rates! Avalon Clone/Klondike US on: July 31, 2013, 10:12:35 AM
I am happy to announce that we are now open for orders. We can build Avalon clones (up to 4 modules per machine) or Klondike K-16 based machines (up to ten K16 modules per machine). Please PM order requests.

Seriously?   Are you operating independently from OP?  Raging has been AWOL for weeks now.  The website's account has been suspended...  But somehow you guys are going to be assembling?
518  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Ukyo.Loan - Paying 0.05% daily. on: July 30, 2013, 06:34:38 PM
How is this at a fixed rate of 0.01BTC a share? What if somebody decides to sel for say, 0.001BTC a share? Or, the opposite, all 0.01BTC share asks get sold out, and people start asking more?

Can't answer to how he's generating revenue, but since Ukyo offers to buy back all shares at .01 BTC, anyone selling for less than that is giving away money to a lucky buyer.

If they get sold out, then they'll have a floor of .01 because they can be redeemed for .01, so they can only increase in value (unless Ukyo goes MIA, but then we have a lot of other worries besides this particular investment).
519  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Ukyo.Loan - Paying 0.05% daily. on: July 30, 2013, 11:25:13 AM
Is that a second bonus??   Grin  Thanks Ukyo!
520  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Bicknellski K1 Nano USA Only Group Buy on: July 30, 2013, 10:51:57 AM
So it doesn't look good at this point.  Over three units makes more sense to buy direct.  I'm gonna let this go until Friday, but if I don't see any more support I'm gonna go ahead and shut it down.  If there's any interest in saving some dough on one or two, let me know.  Maybe we can get a few people together and put in an order of 10.  For something like that I would just ask for tips; no charge on top.
