501  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People hate Bitcoins? on: April 20, 2016, 02:11:47 PM
People who say they hate bitcoins originally fear it, just like the governments of countries that want it banned from entering their country. They fear it will ruin their economies. Which it won't it can work side by side with it.

Exactly.  If people are hating, it is coming from fear.  People fear technology in general and especially new money technology.
502  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People hate Bitcoins? on: April 20, 2016, 03:49:46 AM
Hate is a pretty strong word and we are talking about technology here, not a person or bad smell.  I don't know anyone nor have I read anyone say they "hate" bitcoin.  People may not understand it but that is not hating it.  Strange question.
503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A warning to Bitcoin users believing this will take over payment systems on: April 20, 2016, 03:43:57 AM
Not worried here.  5 second confirmations are not a deal breaker and this could improve - this is still super fast. There simply is no competition for Bitcoin at this point and none in the foreseeable future. Bitcoin is #1 on the list of who will take over payment systems.
504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EDONcoin warning! on: April 20, 2016, 03:23:44 AM
Nice work.  This is one of the many reasons I like this message board, I hope a lot of people caught it.
505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which country does NOT use Bitcoin? on: April 18, 2016, 04:20:32 PM
Hard question to answer.  Bitcoin is global but some governments have tried to "ban" bitcoin.  That is not possible.  Soon all countries will freely use bitcoin if all goes well.  Grin
506  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SECURITY, Have you been a victim? How safe are your bitcoins? on: April 18, 2016, 04:18:42 PM
Nothing for me so far.  I use 2 factor auth whenever offered and have most coins stored offline in cold wallets.  So important to use 2FA ALL THE TIME, it is an extra step but soooooo worth it. 2FA!
507  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-18] Indian Bitcoin Exchange Coinsecure Raises $1.2 Million on: April 18, 2016, 04:17:14 PM
India slowly waking up to the Bitcoin dawn.

More great news.  When India fully wakes up it will give bitcoin a boost.  Many people in India rely on smartphones for their internet access, less have home computers or laptops - this means they can use bitcoin easily through phone apps.

This is great.  There was another post last week, cant remember, that highlighted Japan's growing interest in Bitcoin. I had not heard of that exchange either - nice volume!

Ethereum Is Making Waves Through Education and Internet of Things

Digital currency enthusiasts paying attention to Ether may have noticed the price has started to go up again in the past few days. Although there is no concise reason as to why this would happen, there has been some relatively good news for Ethereum users in recent days.
Two exciting events have caught some attention among Ethereum users as of late. The first project focuses on spreading the word on blockchain technology, both from an Ethereum and Bitcoin perspective. This may not seem like a significant milestone for the popular digital currency, but given the current focus on the blockchain, it might be a reason for increasing interest in Ethereum.

Good for both btc and eth.  Spreading the word is good. Autonomous smart contracts is what will possible make Ethereum very successful in the future.
510  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LISK price speculation on: April 16, 2016, 11:42:29 PM
I think the first day will be all over the place but out the gates I am guessing 2.75ish.  Since it reached over $8 on yobit you could consider that futures trading somewhat so I think it has the potential to hit $8 within 24 hours.  Who knows, going to be fun to watch.

10 cutting-edge companies changing the way payments are made

Being in the payments space for almost two years and helping build products around eCash, I've noticed how businesses need to adapt to the continuous advancements in technology. I've luckily had the opportunity to work with some of the brightest minds in the industry, and have gotten to know many of the companies revolutionizing the space. At the forefront of these changes are numerous outlets offering disruptive processes and products. Here are ten companies forever changing how consumers...

Some of those companies seem ok but at the end of the day bitcoin (#3 on the list) outperforms all.  One was a creditor which I feel is a backwards move and not innovation.  No more debt machines.
512  Economy / Speculation / Re: sold my alts, all in BTC on: April 16, 2016, 01:16:50 AM
Altcoins are too exciting to not at least trade a little.  I agree that most should be in BTC as it solid growth.
513  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcointalk is a good way to get information about Bitcoins? on: April 16, 2016, 01:14:06 AM
Yes, it is one of the best places for recent news and bitcoin information in general.  There are many very knowledgeable people on this board that have been around for a long time.  I have learned more about the technology here than anywhere else and it is always a first go to.
514  Economy / Speculation / Re: If bitcoin dropped to $1, what you do? on: April 16, 2016, 01:12:03 AM
Keep them as relics and buy more if they are still being traded.

516  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How Bitcoin will smash Donald Trump's Mexican remittance wall on: April 14, 2016, 09:32:18 PM
http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/how-bitcoin-will-smash-donald-trumps-mexican-remittance-wall-1554717

Quote
Last week, presidential candidate Donald Trump revealed his plan for funding the wall that he wants to build on the border between Mexico and the southern United States. How would he generate the billions of dollars to construct it? He has a simple plan: block the flow of remittance funds from United States to Mexico. Cutting off that resource would compel the Mexican government into agreeing to pay for the the wall, which has a reported cost of $10 – 12 billion dollars.

Trump's plan is woefully ignorant of what remittance is, how it works, and why it is so important. Millions of Mexicans living in the United States work and save their money so they can send it to their families who still live in Mexico. This is called remittance and it is estimated that over $24 billion dollars per year flows from the US to Mexico.

In a spirited blog post to accompany its latest poster campaign, eco-friendly Bitcoin mining company Genesis Mining imagined what would happen if Trump succeeds in getting his plan approved and Mexicans in the US could no longer send money home to support their families. Companies like Western Union, MoneyGram, and Xoom are all forced to comply with these laws since they are strictly regulated. What would the average worker do to make sure they can still support their family?

"The solution would be Bitcoin because Bitcoin can't be stopped. Not by Trump. Not by Putin. Not by anyone. Sure, you can pass regulations to make it more difficult to use but at the end of the day, if people need it, they will always find a way," said Marco Streng, CEO, Genesis Mining.

So true this article is.  Bitcoin can break down so many barriers and make payment easier around the globe.  It is ridiculous that a Mexican living in America and works hard to make money has to pay $50.00 back to their family in Mexico.  It is time that Bitcoin relieve this planet of stupid money methods that will be looked upon as Pre-Cambrian.
517  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS STILL FAMOUS on: April 14, 2016, 09:23:00 PM
I like the idea that Bitcoin is famous.  It certainly is and some of its ups and downs have made it notorious.  These kinds of things, whether good or bad, create interest.  yes, bitcoin is and always will be famous..even if worth nothing.

Business Intelligence Report Mentions Bitcoin and Blockchain

The primary goal for of any merchant services provider is to come up with new ways to make e-commerce more appealing to both consumer and business. This is one of the areas companies are likely to put their attention on, together with card-present and card-not-present transaction processing in Europe.

But there is more, as this initiative could help facilitate cross-border services, assuming banks can get their clients interested in this prospect...

Nice find.  More good and legitimate press for bitcoin.  I like this :
“Devices ranging from refrigerators to smartwatches now feature payment capabilities, which will spur changes in consumer payment behaviors. Likewise, blockchain technology, the protocol that underlies Bitcoin, could one day change how consumer card payments are verified.”

The governments are wanting this technology now.  Interesting to follow what and how they deal with the blockchain.  I like this:
“elevate the importance of entrepreneurship, technology and innovation in the State Department’s promotion of global prosperity.”
520  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Halving is a profitable??? on: April 13, 2016, 05:55:36 PM
yes it should be profitable, how much no one knows.  There are many threads speculating this and there is a speculation area as well  Grin
