501  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: May 03, 2013, 04:14:48 PM
Why not merged mine NMC at a pool with merged mining? (not sure if btcguild still has it). Could be earning 108% more.

Stratum protocol doesn't support NMC. 108% more sounds misleading, do you mean 108%? Or do you mean 8% more?

hmm, if earning is 100, then 100 * 108%, what do you get? or did I learn math wrong?

Stratum does support NMC, mine at bitminter.com and you'll see.

Technically you were wrong. They could be earning an extra 8%, not 108% more. Also: Why not merge mine all the SHA256 coins if you are going to go down that road. IX, DEV and NMC.

That's what I was saying. You said 108% more. You meant you could earn 108%. There is a huge difference between that.

Again, stratum protocol does not support merge mining name coins. That is probably the biggest hurdle. But, maybe some programming would be worthwhile to make that possible. even if it were just 2% extra, you could be talking about 10,000USD extra a month, which may pay for itself in just a few days if the whole ship heads solo.

And the price of coin plummets....

Yeah, cash out of your coins into USD that MtGox holds lol. Price should be sky rocketing while you get your coins out.

mtgox shot themselves in the foot on this one.

I'm surprised Gox has any foot left to shoot at all at this point...

Did Gox just Goxed themselves?
505  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: [MTGox Sued 5/2/2013] Statement Regarding Formal Complaint on: May 03, 2013, 02:24:54 PM
So either they did something brilliant or both teams should fire their attorneys because they are idiots.

I'm going with your second choice.

Just since I didn't really choose one, I do too. That contract was crazy. Someone thinks they are smart, but both of them do not have adequate legal counsel.

We need a lawyer4btc.com and give some people real advice lol.

Quote
K. Liquidated Damages. Both Parties hereby agree that it may be impossible to determine the monetary harm
suffered by the non-breaching Party in the event that MtGox breaches section F.l or in the event that CoinLab breaches
section F.2 and that therefore, after careful consideration, the Parties agree that reasonable damages for such breach
shall be $50,000,000 USD, an amount the Parties agree is reasonable and fair given the nature of the Agreement

Holy shit. Who in their right mind would sign that when the section above in J shows year 1 and 2 being under a half million? It applies to both parties and is the stupidest thing they both ever signed. If anything, coinlabs put that in their. Their F2 is a 2 year thing, F1 is MtGox responsibility for the entire term. So either they did something brilliant or both teams should fire their attorneys because they are idiots.
507  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEW CURRENCY] Maria 2.0 was banned, here is her proof. The birth of Bytecoin! on: May 03, 2013, 02:01:48 PM
Bytecoin could be the Testnet for Bitcoin in the future.

Except that the testnet works really good already built into bitcoin, or testnet in a box. So, no, not really.
508  Economy / Speculation / Re: The End Is Near on: May 02, 2013, 08:33:54 PM
4 Years is nothing!

E-books
Invented: 1930
Became mass popular: 1992

Microsoft
Started: 1975.
Became Popular: 1995

Christianity
Started: Approx 4 BC
Became a world religion: The 16th century

Cars
First prodused: 1672
Became a World Wide Product: (Not yet)

And so on, etcitra, and so forth...

In 4 years since the launch? U r kidding.

Internet, invented in the 1960's.
US Backbone in the 1980's
Commercialization in the 1990's.
2012 over 1/3 of the world population using it.

Let's not compare the Internet to Bitcoin. It didn't start with a few nerds sending coins to each other without being commercialized. Oh wait... yeah it did. A couple of years in we have bitpay and some other cool tools.

4 years of bitcoin seems just like the beginning.

6000 nodes.

250,000 wallets on blockchain.info

Transaction volume increases.

Yeah, it looks like the end is near for sure.
509  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: May 02, 2013, 08:31:38 PM
This ASICMINER project is unbelievably transparent in my opinoin.  What else are you seriously looking for?

An actual contract (such as), their listing on a reputable exchange (such as), actual monthly reports (such as). Without these you are basically holding dust, like it or not.

(No, the fact that "it paid already X dollah" is not necessarily an argument - so did pirate.)

Right... listing AM on MPEX makes it legitimate...  Roll Eyes  I still don't know why I haven't ignored your posts. I think I like how idiotic you can be.
510  Economy / Exchanges / Re: bitfloor issues? on: May 02, 2013, 05:02:39 PM
Their twitter page says that their website is the official outlet for news and to not trust reddit or anything else. They have the May 1st info on the webpage and not on twitter so looks like bitfloor.com is what to watch.
511  Economy / Exchanges / Re: bitfloor issues? on: April 30, 2013, 08:35:23 PM
Good Luck everyone..

I would stay tuned here:
https://twitter.com/bitfloor

That's a great place to get all the latest information. Too bad their last message on that is older than their website, dated the 18th

Nobody from OVH contacted me with any official statement, they even cannot blame for "not giving them enough information". Actually I called them many times and provided them many useful information for "debugging" the issue. So far the official statement from OVH is "not our problems, secure your email better". However, I'll call them tomorrow (again).

Slush, you respond to other peoples posts, but not mine, and not my PM? I'd love to switch back to your pool but you're making it pretty hard.

If the password database is compromised, I would like to change my email and my password. Do I just need to make a new account and lose all of my stats and found block info?

Slush, I sent you a message. I know you're busy, but need help with my account. Sent days ago.

10 days or 10 business days? I believe the first is today.

Your coins aren't doubling every day anymore, so it's okay to spend them now!  Grin Cheesy
