I don't like this.  It discourages newcomers.  Tomorrow may bring a fourth brilliant coder who would like to get it a try.  However, she will be disinclined to try if grazcoin, zathras and tachi are all warm and fuzzy in bed together with solid jobs.  It is better to have the door wide open to people who want to enter and make it very easy for them to come in.
I didn't mean guaranteed solid jobs, I meant result-based fund allocated part time jobs for these guys. And of course doors should be open with new contests, so the project be able to attract new talents.
Quote
I am not saying the early guys don't deserve a great reward for their efforts - they do.  Also, they deserve whatever it takes to keep them going in the future.  But, lets don't put them on easy street while blocking out the path for others to join.
Dude, It is not about who deserves the cake or reward, it's about give this proved talents a guaranteed modest piece of cake for them to continue their efforts in the same direction, still it will be result based and their works will be continually monitored.

Quote
Let's run another contest.  Make it independent of the features those three have conquered.  Those three continue their efforts (with pay) to complete them.  Those three are excluded from the new contest.  This assures that at the end of the contest, we have three new stars on the team.
Well you say the same thing as me, but with the opposition mark?! After all this is btt forum Wink

Quote
Giving these guys steady jobs now assures a high barrier to entry for newcomers and pushes them off to work on other projects.  We've got about 479 tasks to complete.  Let's form new contests which attract new talent while locking up that great talent we found last time.
Not steady but rather result based fully monitored modest salary packed jobs. One or two new contests will be healthy as well. But I am sure nobody wants it to continue forever, spending money to create contests again and again ad infinitum, mastercoin is not a high school league!
After one or two more contests and when we got a stable team, talent hunting can be continued per se, necessity and applied based, driven by the foundation.

502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MasterCoin: New Protocol Layer Starting From “The Exodus Address” on: October 14, 2013, 09:06:22 PM
While contest-form of development is good and healthy at early stages, I hope the foundation get convinced that the current developers are doing pretty well, so decide to allocate a fund to hire them (at least part time) to push things more effectively and more collective based.
By the way I should thank you all for the excellent effort, Tachikoma, zathras and grazcoin, very good work!
And my especial thanks to grazcoin team for their sensational new approach, wonderful Smiley

RealSolid with a new account, adventuring new branches?!  Cheesy
And spamming in other threads to get the new account higher level as quick as possible Wink

That's good that you guys post a reference version of your posts in other threads, here too. I humbly ask anybody else involved in mastercoin development to do the same (several mastercoin threads popped up recently, and it is very hard to follow them altogether).
Also, please guys, do not post off-topics or personal dialects over here, it has become a long thread already!
Thank you all Smiley
505  Economy / Marketplace / Re: If you are a US citizen you basically can go F yourself - BTCT and now Bitfunder on: October 10, 2013, 11:22:26 PM
If any of US fellows would like to continue keeping and handling his portfolio through a third party, I will do it for 1% of the stake (shares+dividends)
PM me if you are interested Smiley
Update: I asked a lawyer friend about this situation and if acting on behalf of a person and managing his/her security shares in such a context is legally OK and risk-free. He told me that he doesn't advise such undertaking since it may bring unexpected legal difficulties for both parties of such a deal. Therefore here to inform that I resign my offer.

That's interesting advice from a lawyer -- "I advise you not to do that because you may have to hire me if you do."
Dude, the lawyer is a friend, we know each other from high school, and he doesn't look at me as another target for making more money Smiley

yea well anyway... i'm glad i am a dual citizen and saw all this shit coming down a few years ago ... luckily the EU countries (I know it sounds crazy to even say this) are more friendly to financial innovation... US govt is getting too big and squashing entrepreneurial culture that made America great... revenge of the bureaucrats...
Hope you American bitcoin investors find a way out of this shitty situation, to restore your portfolio somewhere or someway. I would have been more than happy to help, but unfortunately it's too risky and not suitable for an academic person like me.

508  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: colored bitcoin tech discussion on: October 10, 2013, 02:01:05 PM
Well a group of respected known faces of the project can create a multi-sig secure bitcoin address and then call for a kind of crowdfunding, it could be in IPO or any other form that suits the project characteristics better and also includes regulatory concern.
Mastercoin did such an IPO and got a huge funding capital, it was during August when BTCT and Bitfunder were working normally, a crowdfunding or kickstarter for coloredcoin should bring more attention in this desperate time.
509  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: colored bitcoin tech discussion on: October 10, 2013, 01:39:59 PM
In between, may I ask, if you have a kind of time table or a close-date for an alpha or beta release? Or not a clear implementation date yet?

Yes, there is no clear date.

Unfortunately there was a problem with recruiting developers, i.e. barely anybody was working on this for months, but there is some hope that it will change soon...

We'll probably have something available this month, but there are no guarantees...
Why don't you try to crowdfund the project and then choose and hire some developers for a compact implementation? Due to recent events, timing is great.

But marking people of being scams even before any act has been taken is nasty and just can come out from the mouth of a typical bump&dump miner or drug dealer, aka btt troll. Think before opening your big mouth!

Who mark you as a scam? I just was warning people some people if you can believe it don't think before acting. It was just a warning to those, now if you were legitimate you wouldn't be so rude, this makes me think it is truly is a scam.
What you wrote in plain English meant a scam, and now you find another excuse to say I am truly a scam, the funny part is that nothing happened in the air yet.. WTF.. btt aka troll-land!
Well I see your ignore button is glowing, that shows the kind of person you are. Think about me the way you desire!

Well doubt over this situation and this kind of deal is completely legitimate and anyone should find a way for mutual trust before giving the control of his capital to somebody else, even that somebody else is his/her father. 515  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [QRCoin] - QauntumResistantCoin - the first alt resistant to quantum computers on: October 02, 2013, 08:12:29 PM
Interesting thing to start, but before you go further, I would like to mention two important points:
1- Quantum computing era is not just about quantum hardware, it may become viable to see a lot of new quantum algorithms that may work much more effective in breaking cryptos than what hypothetically exist now, so a bit more reliance on academic work before designing anything is advisable.
2- Up to point 1 and the fact that it will take a lot more serious work than a routine coding project, it is much wiser to look after more effective way of designing the hashing-node network topology (51% attack) and also more stable economic model (better supply-demand difficulty adjustment and POS)

Thank you in advance Smiley
517  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: $25000 Coding Contest: Show us what you can do with MasterCoin, every entry wins on: October 01, 2013, 07:14:21 PM
It was a scheme where you could use your protocol in two mode, on chain and off chain, you use on chain until the bloat becomes a big concern and here you can shift to off chain mode. And it is always possible to return back to on chain mode again, just because merkele tree of accounts will be sent in a message to exudus address at any necessary moment, and that make it possible to start again from there handling on chain by taking the exudus address as the reference, juts like how things got started the first day of September 2013 recently with the list of accounts holding balances. It doesn't change your protocol but gives it an extra mode for when bloating concern becomes high priority. Also it makes your protocol, while depending on bitcoin chain, also potentially independent and always possible to separate it away and run it independently in future if needed.
But sure, no insistence, I ll try to use it for my own project, thank you!

Disclaimer: I did post that scheme in general because I believe it would help to resolve the mastercoin protocol bloating the bitcoin blockchain concern.
I posted it here also because be visible for the respected developers of the project to see and use some aspect of it, if they feel workable.
There is no need to show cold feet or telling me not welcomed indirectly. I do not consider myself a coder and therefore has not any interest or intention to participate in a coding contest, dacoinminster Wink  I just wanted to help the project in that direction, but sure I remove it away soon!

Also for ensuring that in the off-chain network a transaction is requested by the real private key owner of  that address sending the tx, though the cryptographic providence being described in off-chain methodology using SHA256 digests is enough and working, but for the sake of more transparency and security, it is possible to add the feature of having the private-key owner send to the destination address a below 54.3 micro-bitcoins transaction on the bitcoin blockchain too, to confirm his off-chain action. This micro tx sending attempt could be seen in the main bitcoin blockchain by the potential mastercoin client and be interpreted as the second confirmation that the real owner is sending the tx off-chain too. And while it works as two factor authentication, due to "dust transaction policy" the tx will be rejected and will not add anything to the bitcoin blockchain size that cause a problem.
The benefit of this scheme is that since the merkle tree, of accounts in off-cahin network, could be sent to the exudus address periodically, it is always possible to turn back to the classical-initial way of handling tx on the main bitcoin blockchain, in the case if the bitcoin devs. decide to change that dust policy or any other sensitive specs that cause our scheme become not effective.
And finally I should mention that I have been thinking on Jr.Willet's paper and my resolution for the UTXO bloat problem, during the last 15 days, just because of my love and support for this great project, and therefore I declare here that I have not any insistence about using my solution instead of any other available ones!
