501  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hold than trade. Just don't use leverage, futures. on: January 12, 2024, 08:59:57 PM
It depends on each market moment. Of course, in sensitive times like these, holding is much safer than trading. But if 1 or 2 months ago when the market increased strongly, it would be a waste if we just held and ignored the trade. As you can see, in the past 2 months, almost the entire market has recovered very well and if someone took advantage of that, they would have increased their capital significantly.

Holding or trading has its advantages and disadvantages, it all depends on the strategy and skills of each investor. Not everyone who holds will always be a winner and those who trade will always be losers.
Absolutely. Trading does not guarantee success as well as hodling itself. The only way it gets successful and profitable is that if you have the knowledge and skills to do it on a consistent basis.

However, the time to hold or to trade really depends on the market situation. If you are seeing that there is high probability to make profits with trading, then trade but make sure not to leverage if you are less capable to do it. Consider hold than trading, it's way safer and less risky if you prefer to hold long term most particularly for bitcoin.
502  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: January 12, 2024, 09:36:08 AM
It is common to lose here,I know it is a shame when you lose a multi ticket with those odds for just one leg but I still cannot forget Sacramento Kings losing with a 1.07 odd and that should be enough of a red flag to stop betting on this league although it is the best for basketball.I of course continue to bet in this league too,

That's because 1.07 odds does not guarantee a team will win, you are only unlucky if you bet on that team and they lose. Don't make that as a hindrance for betting on NBA games, that's just one game, move on to that and focus on the other games. Sure you will miss the fun if you will not come back betting, hehe.
Quote

I copy other people multi bets and hope for the best but usually give a look to the bet I am copying so I know I copy bets with over and not money line options.

I copy with single bets not on multi. Doing multi bet is just purely for fun for me, because I know it's hard to win on parlay even its lowest multi.
503  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: January 12, 2024, 09:17:05 AM

We have two games tonight, top tiers team against low tiers team. Junemar Fajardo is expected to suit up for the Beermen tonight so i think the Beermen will cruise past the Blackwater Bossings easily.

SMB Beermen -12.5 @1.84 vs Blackwater

Oops, I missed it. Juding by the score now, it seems like it's a close game as Blackwater is currently leading, but it's still too early though, for sure the 2nd half woould be a different story.

Not for long, because as the first half as ended, SMB already took a 12 points lead. This bet of bisdak40 looks a sure win already. SMB just need to win by 1 point on the 2nd half which they can for sure,  so hold strong their bro, you sure gonna get this win on the first game today.

By the way, JMF is back, however he scored only 3 points. Maybe he is not 100% yet. Their top scorer now is their import with 26 points, I think he'll get another 50 point game after this game.
504  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Maybe future trade is gambling on: January 11, 2024, 11:57:54 PM
Everything that lies in the future is certainly gambling. Most particularly for futures trading where trading made in the future most likely become unpredictable, which means you don’t hold fixed outcome when you trade on it. Also, engaging in futures trading for non-pros or non-professionals in trading will highly end up like gambling. For safer option, avoid futures trading when you think you are not that capable and skillful enough.
505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jamie Dimon said he would close Bitcoin down if he was in government on: January 11, 2024, 11:23:36 PM
The question is when he will gain a government position? However, closing bitcoin will not be done if there’s only one official who will go against it, as there should be a harmonious decision from all officials in order to close bitcoin and stop its function. But, we should also know that even government cannot completely ban bitcoin. You need to shut down the whole internet connection first so that bitcoin will not be able to function again, which I think is highly impossible since the whole universe will be affected as well.
506  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 11, 2024, 01:39:52 PM
I've just seen that Coach Erik Spoelstar signed for the contract extension with an 8 years contract with a whopping $120M or $15M per year.

That's already good enough but I think that he deserves more. It's always that every season Heat is that good with his handling and management.

I just wish that he wins the COTY award soon.

This is the most interesting part.

"Got divorced before getting the bag": Heat fans point out Erik Spoelstra's divorce timeline after $120 million extension

Good timing and I think it was carefully plan by the Miami Heat. Well, he deserve this contract extension as he is an extraordinary coach, can transform an ordinary player to a star player, and can make an ordinary team to a championship team.

This is what we called "HEAT CULTURE".
507  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Nery For Undisputed 122lbs Title - May on: January 11, 2024, 08:15:38 AM
In boxing, rules don't really apply because for the right price just about anybody can be bought.

This does only apply in boxing, even in other sports. Remember that this kind of sport belong to entertainment, and making money is their main priority, so we can't blame them because they see that Inoue vs Nery would be a great fight that will bring money to the promoters. Or maybe this could be their way so Inoue won't be able to fight Casimero which is next in line of Nery?

Another thing, why do this ban have to be lifted just to give way for this fight to happen when it can be outside Japan?
508  Economy / Economics / Re: 4 COMMON MISTAKES PEOPLE MADE WITH THEIR FINANCES IN THE PAST YEARS on: January 10, 2024, 09:57:52 PM
everything you wrote in the list is the right thing, and all these mistakes don't only happen to people in previous years but in almost every year there will continue to be people who make mistakes like that;
- For those who don't have emergency funds, it's best to have them immediately
- For those who don't have an investment yet, it's best to have one immediately
- For those who are wasteful and like to waste money, you should immediately change that behavior
- For those who are not yet good at tracking daily - weekly - monthly expenses, you should start trying to do that

in this new year, let us change our nature from being unable to manage money well, to being someone who is able to manage money well.

That will only happen if one changes his perspective about finances, that there is more to save than to overspend. When I say save, that means save for your investment, save for your emergency funds and save for the future by avoiding unnecessary expenses and focus on what are necessary.

If you follow this kind of mindset, I’m sure a lot of us will gain financial success this year which I think is very possible with patience and determination.
509  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Nery For Undisputed 122lbs Title - May on: January 10, 2024, 12:15:10 PM
When his opponent are in the ring, you can tell that they cannot take the hard punches of Inoue since their style suddenly change, from being an aggressive fighter to a defensive one. And as usual, instead of seeing a toe to toe fight, it will only look like Inoue's opponent only came to survive.
Obviously that's what happened. It seems like Inoue's confidence boost a lot when he beats Donaire, and now he has become an unstoppable beast. Inoue can beat Nery,  as we can see on the betting odds, it no different compared to his previous fights, so we can expect the same result.

So we can understand the frustration of the fans, they want a fighter that could potentially give Inoue's problem, like matching his skills.
Fans have still enjoyed his fight as he mostly end it with a KO.
It's just a matter of how long his opponent will survive, just like Tapales, he was too confident before the fight but in the ring, he became a counter puncher who is afraid to punch. See, that's what Inoue can do to his opponent, that's why he is called the "Beast", but Casimero call him as Turtle.  Grin

IMO, Casimero had proven it already when he beat Tete when he was a heavy underdog.

Yes, but he messed up many chances in boxing, so if he will get a fight with Inoue, it will be him so lucky. (But let's hope)
510  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: January 10, 2024, 11:34:37 AM
My parlay for the day is looking good so far. The Kings, Knicks, and Timberwolves came through for me. Now I just need the Dallas Mavericks to beat the Memphis Grizzlies. It’s not looking good at the moment with Dallas down by 15 at the half, but without Ja Morant I feel like the Mavericks can still pull out a win.

Damn, I also had the Kings + Knicks with the handicap that they covered and then Mavericks, no handicap at all all they have to do is beat the Memphis team.

Unfortunately, it's not just me that they ruin the parlay, and they thought that it's going to be easy without Ja Morant. But not sure what happen to the Mavericks, maybe they got overconfident on this game making us lose our bet.

Sometimes it happens, even the Suns, we thought they would easily win since Ja Morant was absent but it turns out the Memphis won. This is their 2 consecutive wins since missing Morant, it seems like they have already adjusted, and Morant was a big factor on their success. This team plays hard, they share the ball well and they attack, unlike the Mavericks which sometimes easy to predict as it's only between the two (irving and Doncic) who would usually carry the team.
511  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I succeed as a trader in 2024 on: January 09, 2024, 11:48:26 PM
As we enter the 2024, many people are making plans on how to achieve financial success and personally I have decided that trading will be one of my area of focus. I'm gathering information on how to go about it. Your opinion will be highly appreciated.
Well, if you are a skilled trader and a long term investor as well, then I don’t see any reason that you will not succeed on your finances. But if you are just starting to learn the process in trading, focus more on how you can maximize establishing your knowledge and skills, and when you think you’re capable and sufficient enough, creating a good income will easily follow.

Financial success is actually possible if you are trading in profits consistently, but we all know that trading is also susceptible to losses so trading alone may not guarantee financial success and stability. But if you are trading and at the same time investing in diversified assets, you will eventually gain financial success in the end.
512  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Breaking! Bitcoin ETF approved by SEC. on: January 09, 2024, 09:53:31 PM
SEC has released a note that this information is not legit and the reality is they still have not approved bitcoin ETF. Most likely, this is just one of those fake information that is made to lure the people and make believe that approval is already happening. If you’re not alert to DYOR the information, you will really get fooled and scammed. The account was said to be compromised so let’s not fall for it.
513  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 09, 2024, 02:59:10 PM
Yes Clippers have a mega stars team but still the Clippers, until i dont see them winning something i dont trust in them, they are like a cursed team, and plus allways when you have so many stars in sometime you always start to see ego fighting between them, so i dont see them reaching any final.
Good luck with your prediction though.

For me, I think the Clippers had already figured out how to play with the right chemistry, they have the stars and are winning games now, so we can see that it's a positive development of a team that is full of superstars. Yes, they haven't reach the finals yet, but they'll try to make it one step at a time, last time they were only able to reach the WCF, it's just unfortunate that Leonard was injured that time, because if he was healthy, I'm sure they'll be the one that would play the Bucks back then and could potentially beat them.

Now is the best time for Leonard, as long as "Harden, PG, and Westbrook" are healthy, for me, they are the team to bet.
514  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Nery For Undisputed 122lbs Title - May on: January 09, 2024, 02:22:45 PM
I like that some of the articles I've read regarding this shows that Nery is already doing some rounds of trash talking and selling the fight. We all know that Inoue is still miles ahead of Nery even though the Mexican has a powerful left hook that, if landed, can result to a KO. Inoue's speed and power is currently unmatched in the super bantamweight division, and this fight will just further seal his reign in the division before he decides to step up (if that's going to happen).

He can also win this fight, no doubt. It's good that it will happen early, hopefully this means that one more fight for Inoue this year defending his title, and I really hope that he will eventually accept the challenge of Casimero so people will stop speculating about Inoue's dodging game on Casimero.

Currently, here's the ranking of Casimero.

#7 in WBC, #5 in IBF, #3 in WBO.

515  Other / Off-topic / Re: FAILURE: The best friend of success on: January 08, 2024, 11:44:17 PM
While there is success, there is also failure on the other hand. These two are like inseparable since if you can’t see success, probably you end up with failure, and vice versa. However, if you can make failure as a first step for success, that would be better. Success is not achieved instantly, as there would be countless failures at first before you’ll be able to reach the peak of success.
516  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 08, 2024, 11:48:33 AM
They don't start well after James Harden was traded, so the decision of not giving him plenty of minutes was due to the result of their experiment. They (clippers) are in the playoff ranking now, they have more wins in the last 10 games, and that would only tell that the current set of line up, from starting to secondary are working well on their system.

Westbrook didn't even complain which is a triple double machine before, and because he played on the 2nd unit, he is getting quality minutes.

Every player has their talent, it's just a matter on which team they'll fit.
I agree, it's like everyone has to adjust for the betterment of the team. And with all of these experiments that they're doing and everyone understands it key players and not.
It seems to be working at all for them and look at the stats and their games now, they're all quality and everyone agrees to what they're doing now.

Daniel Theis is not really a superstar type of player, so he does not deserve to be in the starting line up. If we look at his average this season, he has 16.8 minutes per game with 6.8 PPG average. So it's really not much in terms of contribution, and to think that the LA Clippers has a lot of superstars, a role player can't expect to gain more minutes.

What Daniel Theis has to do is to impress the coaching staff again whenever he is on the floor, maybe he'll get an increment of minutes.

517  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to make money on cryptocurrencies without investment? on: January 06, 2024, 08:40:11 PM
I'm just a newbie and I don't have other opportunities to make money irl because of my place of living and age. I tried already bounties and airdrops, but I'm not lucky in it. Thanks for your advices!!!
Newbies are not supposed to earn that early and quick. Studying the forum and understanding every thread should be given more priority rather than looking for ways to earn. Once you've earned sufficient knowledge and skills, then it will be easier for you to apply for a job that pays a decent income.

But on the other hand, isn't it more profitable if you also learn to invest in your own? The crypto market is a safe haven for investments, so try to work on it so that you will be a successful investor in the future.
518  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What triggers the zeal to invest? on: January 06, 2024, 07:18:15 PM
I guess to top it all, it’s all about financial stability that highly motivates me to invest and never stop investing in bitcoin. I have studied bitcoin before and end up seeing huge potentials that if I take steps to invest, I will surely reap massive rewards in the future.  And of course, I have seen successful stories of those early investors, they’re also some of the reasons why I am more passionate to invest in bitcoin.

However, after I have known bitcoin deeply, I realized there’s more reasons why we have to invest in bitcoin rather than financial stability. The knowledge itself made me realize that it can be my own advantage when bitcoin is finally utilize as a currency more than a tool for investment.
519  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does inactive users deserve merits? on: January 06, 2024, 05:14:32 PM
You are meriting the post itself, not the poster or user, so for me even if you see the user is not active anymore but the post deserves a merit, then I guess meriting the post is not an issue. Newbies might come to read it, and see it as a concrete example for a quality post, so it’s still helping.

However, if you are hesitant to give away your merit since the poster itself will no longer see it anymore, that doesn’t matter. Regardless if it’s an old post that deserves a merit, you should decide it for yourself since you are the one responsible to merit someone or something that is worth to share.
520  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone here who retired with Gambling winnings ? on: January 06, 2024, 02:06:33 PM

Up till now, no one knows how much the guy spent in his time gambling. For some to have been able to place a $50 dollar bet on a slot game means he must have more than enough already, even those streamers we watch don’t even use up to that amount in a single bet.

Is it still important? I mean, this guy who bet $50 for a single bet on slot game doesn't mean he is betting $50 every time. Why can't we just focus on how much he won? Man, that's $42 million, it's a life changing winnning, and I'm pretty sure that this lucky guy wasn't able to spend a total of $1 million is his lifetime as a gambler.
