you gotta buy it at this point or trade other things for it. I made the majority of mine trading alt coins for bitcoin.

Is solo mining still the only option here? I dont know if I want to leave my computer running for days at a time just hoping to get lucky and find a block.

Fair enough, do you think that the coin is going to launch at some point this month or are we looking at may, june, july, ect? ( Doesnt have to be exact just what you are roughly planning for)

If we already participated in the third distribution, can we be distributed more byteball from our BTC/ if we participate in the 4th can we also participate in the 5th, or is it one time only ?

How do I tell if my throne is actually working ? It says it started successfully, but the active amount is not counting up, it actually says my throne has been up for negative 3 minutes. Ill delete this post if it fixes itself, but seems strange.

Wish someone would implement an easier way to run thrones in the GUI. Not that it is that hard, but it could be used as an opportunity to overall the wallet and make it look really nice.
The problem we have is that long terms Thrones will be providing compute services and it will become increasingly important that they are available 24/7 and on dedicated vps resources. Having said that, there is no reason why we can't include some useful gui tools for setting up a throne. We're putting effort into making it as easy as possible to run a throne. We have refined the Ubuntu set up to one single command and have images available on Docker and AWS. Lots more work to do though. Is there any sort of penalty for running a throne and then stopping it ? I just ordered a dedicated laptop to run a throne and it wont come for a few days, so I thought I would run it on my current laptop until then. Do I just exit out of the wallet, or is there a command I need to use in order to stop a throne safely?

It really dependes on how bitcoin is used over the next 5 years, if some killer app appears then bitcoin could take off. i am hoping that Dotcoms megaupload 2 and bitcache might help that in the newyear. hehe dont get your hopes up. I wouldnt trust that man as far as I can throw him, which isnt far at all.

I traded poorly just before the last big bubble to the ATH. This time I bought back in between $250-$300, have waited a year, so can sell without capital gains tax, but have no plans to sell.
I hold more now than I ever have before.
If you are in the US you still need to pay capital gains tax...

Buying 51% would be stupid, people would fork the code/ go elsewhere and his investment would be nothing. Not to mention he couldnt even get anywhere near that much. The amount of coins on exchanges is tiny and even tinier if you want to keep the price relatively the same.

Id cash everything out and hire a duck marching band to follow me around all day.

Why are there so many people who have owned a max of not even 1 bitcoin, been around here for more than a year and have like 500 comments?? Btw someone asked why no one here is disclosing they own 1000+ bitcoin and its because it makes them a target. We more or less know many/ possibly most of the people that own that much from the early days anyway. The new investors who are buying in large amounts arent ever going to divulge their identity or how much they own.

Paypal credit is pretty great if you buy something over $100 no interest for 6 months. Just make sure you pay it back or youll owe 20% on the original 100 immediately.

Price will probably go down short term but this is a long term play. As long as demand increases price rises are going to be inevitable.

I would sell it in bulk to someone reputable. Still going to have to pay capital gains tax on it though. No way of getting away with it unless you keep it in bitcoin or go the illegal route which isnt worth it.
