Hello there, my two cents: The "premine" happend in the genesis block: const char* pszTimestamp = "June 7 2013, The Times, Prince Philip admitted to hospital for two weeks"; CTransaction txNew; txNew.vin.resize(1); txNew.vout.resize(1); txNew.vin[0].scriptSig = CScript() << 486604799 << CBigNum(4) << vector<unsigned char>((const unsigned char*)pszTimestamp, (const unsigned char*)pszTimestamp + strlen(pszTimestamp)); txNew.vout[0].nValue = 1250000 * COIN; txNew.vout[0].scriptPubKey = CScript() << ParseHex("0449D77B9B62E0DB1FD6150ECFC5722F31FEE52E585DE31B5AEFAD2CAC415D5698991F8F0B0CBBA 7B9F4431BBE79B684876EDFBD369554ACC4182753FA48A3CD80") << OP_CHECKSIG; CBlock block; block.vtx.push_back(txNew); block.hashPrevBlock = 0; block.hashMerkleRoot = block.BuildMerkleTree(); block.nVersion = 1; block.nTime = 1370579804; block.nBits = 0x1e0fffff; block.nNonce = 2788; Now there is a funny thing about this genesis block. The coins of the genesis block can not be spent! At least this is the case for bitcoin. - https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Genesis_block - http://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/10009/why-cant-the-genesis-block-coinbase-be-spent - the first ever bitcoin address with the first ever 50 bitcoins (still there) http://blockexplorer.com/address/1A1zP1eP5QGefi2DMPTfTL5SLmv7DivfNaAs Litecoin is a fork of Bitcoin and StableCoin is a fork of whichever coin which is a fork of Litecoin... @FUDers and Dev: do your homework I thought by designed, you couldn't spend anything on the genesis block?

LTC 50 days to reach 2,000,000 coins (18,489,000 current total coins) FTC 6.5 hours to reach 2,000,000 coins (7,272,200 current total coins)
Should I stay away from it as these figures worry me some? Any help / thoughts would be great and TY
Consider looking at ZenithCoin ZTC first 2016 blocks to see how a fair mine should work: http://explore.zenithcoin.comI announced the coin to begin mining at 2013-06-10 00:00:00 5 blocks were mined just to test it out prior, using a single core 2 duo. ZTC has a block retarget of 9 block.... different from older coins like FTC that retargets at 2016 block. Anyway, as the hash rate is immediately applied... you will notice blocks going a way every 5 seconds... as the retarget catches up.... the mine rate becomes fair pretty quickly.

Hi, what is the best coin to mine on my 7850?
try ZTC www.zenithcoin.com ... easy, low difficulty, rarely any orphans, just started.

Maybe you will want to describe and give more details of your ZenithCoin so that others can evaluate and maybe offer some good suggestions? Just giving the date isn't too much helpful.
www.zenithcoin.com has extensive coverage of the coin. binaries are available to experiment with the coin. mining at this time is extremely easy considering the low difficulty.

Proud to announce this coin is being considered @cryptsy. The difficulty is failing to reach 5 for our attempt at merge, we'll wait. In the mean time i'd like to ask, besides LTC what other scrypt coin would you like to merge mine? we ask so that we can set up a pool and test with one of the existing scrypts that has high difficulty at the moment, if we can prove functionality, we may be able to incorporate different coins to merge mine.
Interesting. But how are you going to merge mine from LTC when your block rate is different? Anyway, would be intersted in merge mining ZTC.

How does this differ from bitmessage?

Yes, I know about this coin. It was to be launched no binaries, but failed to launch anyway, than people started using and trading beta, but id died, than someone relased your code under your coin name and than some one else did it and than you relased but failed and then next relase - did I missed something? I could add it as re-re-re-re-re-re-launch under "dead" or wait and see. I decided to wait and see , because this one is not a simple copy. If I remember right, It's freicoin with scrypt-jane ? The binaries can be found here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/zenithcoin/filesMining started on 6/09/2013. Yes, based on Freicoin, but Scrypt based. Yes, there is possibility that the proof of work algorithm flips to other variants of Scrypt. We however, selected Litecoin compatibility for initial mining run. May change in the future, if need arises. All info is in www.zenithcoin.com Not an insta-mine coin, 1,728 blocks mined in first day.

Interesting, ZenithCoin plans on implementing something similar.
