501  Other / Meta / Re: Is the Merit circulation on a downtrend yet Bitcoin is on an uptrend? on: March 23, 2024, 12:29:13 PM
The forum users do not vote for merit sources, reputable users apply to be merit sources and Theymos picks from the applications in the pipeline, when he feels there is a need to add new MS to the forum.
If I'm not wrong then the ones who applied for being accepted as merit sources need some type of support or you can say vote of the forum's members. If I'm not wrong then Theymos also considers that support as a positive aspect of someone's application and he's wise enough to know that the forum members opinion also matters when it's about betterment of the forum.

There is always need for merit sources but it takes time to know that who could be a better merit source and when Theymos is 100% sure that who would be good as a merit source then he could appoint that member as a merit source.
There are quite a lot of good users who have applied to be MS's and they have been waiting for a long now, but nothing doing from Theymos and i can't really say why; many of them deserve the "job" and they would greatly improve the merit system.
I have seen those applications and I have supported most of those applications because I also believe that the forum needs some new merit sources who may help out the members of the forum that need those merits. There are so many good posts by the members of the forum who are merit-worthy and those can get merits when new merit sources are added to the forum. If I'm not wrong then Theymos is also keeping eye on the applications and in near future he may announce the names of those members who get accepted as merit sources.
502  Other / Meta / Re: Icopress ' Merit Source Application 🚩 on: March 23, 2024, 12:15:23 PM
Took your advice and only gave him 13 even though I could have done 50.
You could gave him 50 merits that wouldn't be wrong either. But, the point is, your sending of merits shouldn't impact your and his relationship in anyway. Like if you send him 50 merits at a time, and to be honest he deserves those merits, then you may still not feel any hesitation when you may get to work with him in future.

We all are like a family on this forum, and if someone who appreciates a family member's posts or in simple words contribution then he/she can send merits to that member for his/her contribution. After sometime when the member who sent merits to a member gets accepted in a campaign that's managed by the same member then there's nothing wrong in that either.
503  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling until you go totally broke on: March 23, 2024, 11:54:58 AM
I feel bad for that friend of yours, it's the starting part of gambling addiction. Your friend is slowly getting addicted to gambling and that's why he's spending everything he has on gambling. A normal and sane person would never spend the money that's required for his/her daily needs, only an addict or the one who's getting addicted could do that.

I have faced financial issues many times in my life but none of those were due to gambling. If for some reason I was on his place then I would never gamble the money that was needed for my daily necessities. I would gamble only with the funds that would not affect my life in any adverse way. I believe gambling could be good as a part-time fun activity, but when someone considers it as a source of income then things start getting wrong.

If you really want to improve yourself then start learning about Bitcoin. This forum is the no.1 community forum for Bitcoin users and if you really want to be a good member of this forum then you'll have to learn about Bitcoin.

I suggest you to start learning about Bitcoin by reading topics in Bitcoin discussion board, Beginners  & Help board, and in Speculation board. Try to read as many topics as you possibly can and then ask questions if you don't understand the topics.

I also recommend you to pick one book about Bitcoin and read that book 1 hour daily for 2 months to get familiar with the basics of Bitcoin. Although, information about each aspect of Bitcoin is available on this forum but as a beginner, a book could be of good help.
505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: dogecoin futures market to launch on Coinbase on: March 22, 2024, 07:04:15 PM
could just be a great April Fools prank?
This doesn't sounds like an April Fool prank because they might have got things ready in background and now they just need to launch those derivates.

Like other exchange Coinbase also wants to available so many derivative options to their users and April 1st seems to be a good date for those derivatives.
506  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where is the fun when you lose your money? on: March 22, 2024, 06:41:23 PM
So where's the fun when you lose your money?
There is no fun when you lose money and that's a fact which everyone accept. No gambler wants to lose the bets but it's someone luck that makes them a winner or a loser. I personally prefer sportsbook betting and most of my bets are winning ones but sometimes I also face losses not only once but more than 2-4 consequent losing bets can happen sometimes.

The main reason for those losing bets is the luck only because in sports betting there's no house edge of the casinos, it's purely someone's luck or strategy that makes them a winner or a loser and trust me there is no fun in losing our money. The fun is in enjoying the bets that you place and when you win one or two bets you become happy. However, there's no sadness either because one who knows the game of gambling then he/she accepts the losses as well as part of the game.
507  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rich or poor gambler, who should risk more? on: March 22, 2024, 06:35:45 PM
the problem that is often encountered is those who mix gambling with their main income
I think you're exactly right, the main problem with most gamblers is that they consider gambling as their main source of income which isn't correct at all. In gambling we have both wins and losses, and if someone  considers gambling as their main source of income then they will have to face the losses that are always present in gambling.

The ones who take risk with their money often have to keep in mind that the chance of losing bets is way higher in gambling than winning those bets. That's why I believe one should gamble only with the money that he/she can afford to lose because if you gamble with the money that can impact you financially then you're in the wrong direction.
508  Other / Meta / Re: Is the Merit circulation on a downtrend yet Bitcoin is on an uptrend? on: March 22, 2024, 01:44:07 PM
Is merit spending becoming more and more scarce lately?
I think I agree with your observation because I have also noticed that there are many good posts on the forum that deserve to get some merits but no one is meriting those posts. The one reason that comes to my mind is that the merit sources are much busy and that's why they might not be able to give much time to read all of the posts which deserve to get some merits.

I believe that the only solution we may have is to vote for some new merit sources on this forum, in fact I believe the forum needs some new merit sources. I have personally supported @Icopress's merit source application and I believe new merit sources like Icopress could support those posts with some merits. I hope that Theymos should consider appointing new merit sources to help those unmerited posts to get some deserving merits.
509  Other / Archival / Re: . on: March 22, 2024, 01:31:48 PM
First of all, you're welcome to this amazing forum where you can promote your platform with ease. I have noticed that you haven't added anything into the OP, but in order to be known you'll have to make a proper announcement thread. I suggest you to go for Cooper Membership as that would allow you to embed images in your announcement thread.

A proper well-formatted thread with proper images works best for the platforms who want to have their presence on Bitcointalk. Once your announcement thread is set properly then I suggest you to launch your signature campaign. A signature campaign is the way of advertising on this forum and with a signature campaign your platform will get more exposure on this forum. Best of luck!
510  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bothered about every DIP? It's just a mental check. on: March 21, 2024, 06:33:06 PM
Dips shake out the weak traders, and depending on what price you bought in at you'd be buying high and selling low, i.e., the exact opposite of what you're supposed to do.
That's the worst mistake most traders make and that's the main reason behind their losses. Dips are opportunities for the strong traders while weak traders get scared because of the dips. Most of the weak traders buy Bitcoin when it's pumping and has reached some good peaks and when it drops because of price correction those weak hands start selling it to avoid losses. But, instead of avoiding losses they're taking losses with their trades.

If someone buys Bitcoin when its price is high and sells it when its price is low then such trader is in great loss. The ones with strong hands also buy Bitcoin at high values sometimes but they know the power of holding and averaging, and even if they bought it at high price, they'll hold it for sometime without fear and do averaging, and when they see green PNL then they start selling with profits. Those weak hands can be saved from huge losses by holding their positions.
511  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is investment a necessity or a want? on: March 21, 2024, 06:04:21 PM
some one very close to me has been prioritizing coins involvement other than his health care.
If that person is having any health related issues then he/she must give more priority to his/her health instead of thinking a lot of investing in coins. Investment isn't a necessity and no one forces anyone to invest in anything, it's someone's own choice to invest or not to invest.

If your friend wants to invest then he/she should invest but I believe taking care of his health should be given more priority than investing. Health is your true wealth without it no profits can make you wealthy. Even if someone earns $1M by investing, without good health that would not make him/her happy.
512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your worst nightmare in a casino? on: March 21, 2024, 05:48:14 PM
Well, my worst nightmare is that when I place a bet on a team and the team starts to lose and I feel I will lose the money. What's your reaction when your team starts to play well after giving a rough start ?
I think we both have similar nightmare, not only we two but many people who bet on sports events may face the same fear in their lives. I have lost many times by betting on teams that I thought were undefeatable.

That's why I always fear that what if the team on which I placed my but losses the game? I often close my eyes after placing the bet and after sometimes I totally shift my attention from that game to something else. When the game is over, I come back to see if it was a winning bet or a losing one.
513  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Success is a meaningless word without failure. on: March 21, 2024, 05:40:39 PM
In trading too there will be many failures followed by success
Yes, in trading success comes after so many failures and losses. I have been a trader for many years and I can proudly say that trading isn't a child's play, it requires a lot of effort and perseverance to be a good trader. Some people face so many failures as traders and they often give up on trading in its early stages.

Now, I'm good at trading but I can say that it wasn't an easy thing in start, I had to face many losses and I have fixed many of my mistakes in order to be good at it. I have got so many liquidations in order to develop the current level of win rate and patience. In the end, you'll always get success after many failed attempts.
514  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: March 21, 2024, 05:33:04 PM
Both the men's and women team of Australia are the best in cricket and they are considered the father of cricket. And in this match see how badly Australia defeated the Bangladeshi team by dismissing the entire team for 95 runs.
You're right, I believe that only England team can be considered as a good competing team against Australia. England's men and women both teams are quite good in performance and they can give tough game to Australian team. Other than England I don't think that any other team is good enough to compete team Australia.
515  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔥🔥🔥 BC.GAME - CASINO AND SPORTSBOOK | $1,000 GIVEAWAY LIVE! 🔥🔥🔥 on: March 20, 2024, 08:18:45 PM
This advertisement style is prohibited by forum rules.

I don't know how many times of violation will cause an account ban, but if it is not an immediate ban after violate that rule a first time, the ban will come after some repetitions of rule violation.
The offenders will always break the rules until they get punished with a ban. It's not even ethical to promote other casinos in announcement threads of a casino. Most users get paid to shill the sites and that's the main reason why they break the rules. I believe such members should not be given any chance if they are doing that shilling to get paid.
516  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is It Time to Buy More BTC? on: March 20, 2024, 04:49:10 PM
So, even if it dips further short-term, history tells us Bitcoin tends to go up in the long run.
Yes, go with the history and invest in it because this could be the last chance for the ones who want to accumulate Bitcoin. If another rally continues then this time we may see Bitcoin over $80k value, but in short-term there's a chance to see further dips in the price of Bitcoin.

I believe all such dips are opportunities for the ones who want to accumulate more Bitcoin. Even if you don't earn much profits but you can expect to earn at least 50% to 100% profit within few months. I expect Bitcoin to reach at least $100k within 1 and half year, and if that happens then still you will earn more than 50% profit.
517  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: AZORult stealer targets crypto wallets with a sophisticated HTML smuggling on: March 20, 2024, 09:10:52 AM
Since the malware only attack chrome and firefox extension, it's another reason why we need to use Linux.
Yes, I believe you're right about using of Linux but such malware can also affect those Linux users who have installed Wine-HQ on Linux. The exe file can execute on their machines if they have that Wine-HQ.

In fact the reality is that most of the malware are created to attack Windows users, the simple reason for that is the number of users who use Windows operating system as compare to other operating systems.

I think we should always be careful as crypto-users because even a simple PDF file is enough to compromise someone's system. Those hackers mostly target the users who look for free PDF files.

The malware is also known for stealing someone's browser's data like cookies and other credentials. That's why it's very important to be aware of such malware and stop opening pages without proper knowledge.
518  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you stake it all put of over confidence in your club on: March 20, 2024, 09:03:51 AM
Can any one do this or was it a foolish move?
Yes, many gamblers do that because of the pure love and trust on their team but that's a pure sign of foolishness to me. If that 5k was $5k USD then your friend took a huge risk because there was chance of loosing those $5k altogether. If I was on your friend's place then I would never do something like that.
519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's next in the memecoin cycle? on: March 20, 2024, 08:36:06 AM
There's a chance of seeing new meme coins reaching the peaks which are unexpected. I believe in this cycle those high peaking meme coins could be the ones that are based of Solana blockchain. However, the market has still not seen the best performing meme-coin of this bull run so we will have to wait for it.

Not only meme coins but there could be a few alt-coins that may also reach huge peaks this bull run. We don't yet know those alt-coins or the meme-coins so for the moment we may only do speculation and nothing else. However, I'm sure that few of us will make good returns if we somehow pick the right ones.
520  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bothered about every DIP? It's just a mental check. on: March 20, 2024, 08:30:44 AM
I wasn't expecting $100k at all, all I was expecting was to see Bitcoin at $80k this month and I'm still positive that there's a chance for Bitcoin to reach $80 or at least $75k in the month of this March. I was expecting it to reach that point sooner but now I believe it will take some time.

The DIP has been beneficial for me as a trader because during the pump's peak I opened some short positions and due to the recent dump I made profits from those positions. So it depends on your mindset that how you see the volatility of the market.
