FC keeps moving forward. Indeed, Feathercoin is doing slow and solid steps forward: stable/growing network hashrate (it touched 1GbH/s, new pools, many succesfull trades, price going slowly up togheter with mining difficulty. A proper exchange site is nedeed for a quality jump: even if the coin is young it has great potential! Congrats to the bounty winner. |

We're safe, the admin is worried as much as we are: his pool has open registration only when it's under 33% of whole network. With new Feathercoin miners joining other pools we're ok.

I googled feathercoin and can't even find any information on it. How does one even determine the current "market" value? Or is it not traded on any exchange and just between individuals at this point? Sorry if these are dumb questions but I honestly don't get it.
It's only being traded between individuals right now. A few people have put together a basic Google doc spreadsheet with manually entered buy and sell orders, which you execute by PM'ing the person and working out a deal that way. even if one doesnt use that spreadsheet directly, it at least is a guide to the current value if one wanted to buy or sell. Yesterday network reached a peak of 1Gh/s, there is some good working pool around if you want to try FC mining, difficulty is going up but it's still very low compared to LTC. Technically, structurally, all other things totally aside, this is my choice in a round design. 1. Compact, quickly recognizable, F engulfing C = (ownership, compartment, purse, wallet, secure, held, vault, hidden, strong) 2. Works, (structurally mind you), as a desktop icon, program icon, browser tab icon, taskbar icon ... because the structure lends itself to reduction in size and resolution. Functionality and flexibility. 3. Letter "C" inside the "F", again, has compact logo-like characteristics, scans for instant recognition. The "C inside the F" is two letters, and it is not, it is a "thing", a brand, an icon, an image unto itself. 4. It has a machine quality, component quality, things "fit" together, it has balance and strength and complexity, while having a quality where everything known about feathercoin can be instantly resolved and easily attached to the symbol. It's got an "elemental" quality, like AU, or AG. +1 ! I totally agree on point 1-2-3 ! Reduction in scale and resolution is very important, some of the incredibly nice logo posted here don't scale very well.. I can barely understand half of point 4, probably because I'm not native english speaker :-) |

BTW a true currency wouldnt need to have a stupid thread like this. The community would set it upon themselves to push it. By pushing for articles or word of mouth ur just looking desperate. Oh and Id love to know how many coins the founders premined!
It's nice to have a thread with useful info on the development of a new coin. The coin was announced here on the forum, network hashrate was very very low. There was no premine. Difficulty it's still very low compared to other altcoins, so any new miner can join and get a good amount of coins without huge mining rigs.
