Coingecko has been doing a good job at providing ALOT of information related to alternate cryptocurrencies. It seems like the handful of other sites that are similar, like coinwarz and coinmarketcap, just haven't put in the effort to support everyone's interest. Mind you, they have provided valuable information for both miners and investors. Bias choices have easily been made based on this information. While miners have constantly used these sites precisely looking for the current most profitable coin to dump on an exchange, investors look to support a coin by increasing it's market cap in order to gain more attention and ranks which will later increase only their profits until they cash in. If the miners aren't dumping their new alts on an exchange to turn out a wee-bit of profits, then they are simply an enthusiast who is collecting with high hopes of someday cashing in for even bigger profits at the expense of others. I think the mentality needs to change when thinking about alts, particularly when it comes to usability, functionality and overall sustainability. Most importantly, one should ensure the coin they look to support doesn't have a group of anonymous developers who are only interested in counterfeiting coins for a short time and who have nothing else better to do with their lives and their time. Now I'll mention Fastcoin, because it works, it's stable, it's been around almost two years and has been able to withstand multiple attempts of attack all while holding it's own weight. It hasn't needed huge publicity, nor has it needed a bootstrapped, high flutin' flashy website that appeals to those looking for eye candy. It's just a super fast coin with a good re-targeting algorithm and true to it's name. https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/fastcoinI am listed under the 'Altcoin Team Leads' on coingecko's top cryptocurrency people you should absolutely follow on Twitter. https://twitter.com/JonMarshallz agree with all that very solid coin, very underpriced under very solid stewardship one to watch 2 others with fantastic developers, great communities and everything in order.... megacoin & franko wildly underpriced and have great futures imo 3 diamonds in the rough

Bitcoin is heading to $500 or even $600 rapidly .. I'm buying in NOW! any idea whats got the price moving so suddenly?
I doubt that bitcoin can go to $500 - $600 this year although I really hope so. Bitcoin prices just like other commodity or Fiat follow the same basic principal...Supply and Demand. Whenever there are more buyers than sellers the price will always goes up. Basic principle of economics. i'd be surprised not to see that sort of range by april imho

I can't think of much better to do with a fresh $25M injection than getting full money-transmission licenses in most US states, complete with the surety bond coverage. The regs on that stuff (ie, the time and expense to get proper licensing) is why there's no major US exchange so far.
Answer to OP: Yes. "First U.S. Bitcoin Exchange Set to Open": http://www.wsj.com/articles/first-u-s-bitcoin-exchange-set-to-open-1422221641"Coinbase’s founders say they have been working for five months to win licenses from state financial regulators. They have regulatory approval in half of U.S. states, including large population centers like New York and California" interesting times ahead

Why do you think Andreas Antonopolous left that big pile of scum called the Bitcoin Foundation?
Too many bad actors and shady characters involved in that figurehead group. Karpeles, Brock Pierce, Shrem, etc...
It's a good thing that Bitcoin is decentralized, and they have no control or say over the currency or protocol.
The Bitcoin Foundation doesn't represent Bitcoin.
End of thread.

why would you varnish it?
looks like any piece of wood that has been stained and varnished
it it were a rare piece of wood with natural colouring it would be best to leave 'au naturel'
I can find no comparison online in google images or anything where this piece resembles watermelon ivory wood

Bitcoin already IS bigger than Facebook, because 1BTC is worth more than 1 Facebookaccount
It's not like I can have 0.2187 FB account, or can I? One day facebook will end up just like myspace, but BTC is here to stay, folks. agreed

Cool idea, but 'ChangeTip?' Really? That was really the best name they could come up with? I know non english speaking Nigerians that could come up with a better, more fitting name than that.
lol, agreed it's a good idea though, it could go viral but feel the average facebook user would have no idea how to collect their tip. for me is a long way from being the killer app we need, still too complicated for the average tard plus, I wouldn't put it past zuckerberg to ban it just to hurt the winklevii if becomes pop. I am sure zuckerberg just wants his own payment/tipping/token system
