5001  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is like day trading ? on: April 06, 2020, 10:46:53 PM
~ snip ~
Correct, sports gambling shouldn't be compared/equated with day trading, they are different. Day trading requires specific skills such as read charts, analyze market trends, know volatility & liquidity, set targets, understand the use of "stop losses", etc. While sports gambling doesn't require many skills as the day trading, you just read historical data (as you said) and try to guess.

we should also remember that more than 90% of day traders lose money on the long run
and regarding to gamblers.... I have no idea

does anyone check these statistics?
5002  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Business That Survives when a Crisis on: April 06, 2020, 10:43:26 PM
can't all the rl casinos just adapt to online due to the crisis?

I suppose is not that simple, right?

but this will make them (and actually pretty much all business) realize the importance to have online presence and a possibility of scaling their business or at least moving part of it to the digital world.
5003  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does good side of gambling overcomes its negative side? on: April 06, 2020, 10:41:00 PM
This kind of dilemma makes our heads difficult to choose.
You either want to be positive because it's beneficial or you'll hate it but will choose the negative sides because you're always losing. We can't define each situation when you ask this kind of tricky question.
This is not an option because there is no way we will choose something negative. Indeed, we cannot determine the situation every time we gamble but if you only gamble when in a good mood and also only gamble with money that can be eliminated, then at least you will gamble with the positive side even though the results are not always good, but with these efforts at least it will makes you have control and will be aware of the time to stop when negative results are obtained.
As far as I know from gambling, no one can provide a positive side, where gambling is a bad place that puts many people at risk, so you better be able to be careful when you want to gamble, at least you should be able to prepare yourself between losses with large amount or fortunately no one can provide a guarantee.

as I said before:
risk management is everything
just don't play with more money than you can afford to lose and all will be fine.

also:
all the things have more than one side

it's yin yang

the law of nature and life
5004  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and covid-19 : Which is more risky ? on: April 06, 2020, 10:38:29 PM
Well, people can lose lives in coronavirus but at the same time people might lose their money and become hand to mouth because of gambling.

So i would like to know your opinion, whether you think gambling is more dangerous or coronavirus is more dangerous for the people ?

is this serious?
because with all the respect it sounds like a joke.

gambling behavior is not contagious
and no, you can't die from gambling, you can die from becoming poor or something like that.

so, short answer is: yes, covid is more dangerous.

long answer is:
read about exponential curves and contagious diseases
5005  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chess online? on: April 06, 2020, 10:36:30 PM
chess.com
God, i hate this game!  Grin
I do not like cheaters, so l play with a very short time per game - 2 minutes + 1 second per turn.
Playing at this pace becomes really adrenaline. And after game it is very difficult to fall asleep or focus on something for me. Therefore i play online rarely.

wow. now this is a good domain for a chess game.
it reminds me of a guy that bought domains first and set up services with these domains afterwards.
but not simple services.

whole business.

there was even this special onion enterprise he made after buying a domain.

...

5007  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Campanha doação contra o COVID-19 on: April 06, 2020, 10:31:16 PM
bem interessante!

The similarity of it implies on risk. The reason why people risk their money in gambling is because of the massive return it gives the higher the risk is. On the other hand, market volatility makes trading risky and profitable.

definitely!
and risk management is key even if you're not trading, only gambling

imho this is one of the best crypto articles on risk management

really important concept for gambling, trading and for life.
5010  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Site's Investing (Is it worth it?) on: April 05, 2020, 11:47:07 AM
I'm either interested and not at the same time. If ever I invested in gambling site I would choose the long term. Although I did try staking on a gambling site and I did earn small profit since I only staked small amount just to try if I can earn decent profit. I may try to invest in gambling site but don't know when.

yes, some wesites likfe freebtc and others offer these earnings and this style of investment

any idea of what was the APR on the website you invested?

even if it's small amount the APR would be the same regardless of the main deposit size so it could be worth to check
5011  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Betting Double After Losing is Really a Good Decision? on: April 05, 2020, 11:45:44 AM
I have quiet an experience on losing due to rage betting and one of the popular way of rage betting is to double your bet amount. Even a simple auto martingale does the same. Not only you'll lose fast, you'll also not be able to enjoy what you are doing. It would be better to limit your max bet. It would give you a chance to review your decision or could run for a bit longer where your luck could flip on your side.
Well TBH, I already stop using auto martingale, I use that strategy when playing dice but my experience is mostly a lose and eventually I lose my interest in gambling dice as it was not as entertaining as I was expecting, in the long run you'll get bored, yes the result is fast but we failed to realize our real chances, so now, I do only play for pure entertainment.

as usual, the house always wins
I prefer not to use martingale too.

but seem like some people have results with it.

still never saw detailed reports on gambling experience of people, that could be interesting to follow.
5012  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CS:GO and Betting on: April 05, 2020, 11:44:20 AM
do you have more information on that?
it'll take place here on the forum or on an external website?

it could be interesting to have a way to know more about the event.
5013  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you keep track of your gambling? how? on: April 05, 2020, 11:31:12 AM
I used to do it back then when I would gamble as a source of income. It was so nerve wrecking seeing the losses I would sometimes make but right now I do gamble majorly for the purposes of fun or entertainment with my spare money so there is no need of me creating records anymore.

how did it work out on having gambling as a source of income?
could you have a stable payment every week/month or it varied a lot?

and what were the games you played?

Grin Grin Grin

tbm tenho conta uphold verificada e setei pra 5ads/hora

FREE! on: April 05, 2020, 11:13:36 AM

1. Compra uma moeda X;
2. Manda o sinal "comprem moeda X";
3. Todo mundo compra, causando um pump;
4. Você vende.
5. Huh
6. Profit!

5018  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Site's Investing (Is it worth it?) on: April 04, 2020, 04:21:58 PM
just remember, not your keys, not your coins
take all the money you invest on gambling sites as really high speculative and be fine with losing it all.

practicing good risk management is the main key
5019  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: COVID-19 and its effect in Gambling World on: April 04, 2020, 04:19:54 PM
Not only traditional casinos on this issue at least all places that can be a crowd or a crowd of people should at least be eliminated even though there are still some who get an exception but with a rule. So, as long as this problem or the case of this pandemic continues to increase, as much as possible for us to do anything at home, because if we can isolate independently of course it is an effort for us to break the spread of the virus that is increasingly troubling. Well, with the digital world at least any activity that can be done in virtual form or like online gambling will be a choice we have to do in this situation.

there's also the fact that casinos are always close spaces with air conditioning so these are the worst in terms of contagious possibility.

of course online gambling is not the same as offline but this will have to do until the pandemic is gone or we find a vaccine.
5020  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will the gambling addicts do now that the casinos have closed? on: April 04, 2020, 04:18:18 PM
one thing is for sure:
the online cassinos will have much bigger profits because of quarantines worldwide.

I'd say:
even though we may be locked at our homes, this is no excuse to stop exercising, moving, studying and improving ourselves.
