5001  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2018-2019 betting on: January 19, 2019, 05:14:06 PM
OP won his bet, finally he is back on the winning track.
Looking forward for tomorrow's pick, I keep following his bet despite he sometimes are on a losing streak, one bet a day
is good, it fits on my gambling budget.

Yes, losing streak is a part of the game. I've been a fan of his thread since day zero, and I love the way he analysis each picks without sentiments. My only suggestion however is that he should get back to posting his daily picks ~20~24hrs before the game starts, Like he used to initially. His picks recently comes a very few hours before the game, Although I think late picks would give him information and insight about the match such as injuries, e.t.c.

If you bet online then its not a problem to see his picks some minutes before the game and place your bet. Usually, it helps to have a clearer picture about the game and probably the possibilities of winning the bet are increased due to the more information (as you said) that the OP has before releasing his pick to the public.
5002  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: $100 to $10,000 challenge on: January 19, 2019, 05:09:52 PM
All the best on the challenge, I too wish to begin such a challenge. In the past I had such an experience in which I earned around $5000 with just $70 as the base fund. All happened as a dream, because few wins were unexpected and importantly I didn't had much idea about sports betting by those days. Later I lost the same amount through sports betting out of over expectation.
I also challenge myself on this kind of profit but not in gambling because I know its too risky to aim for something because I might get addict, so instead in gambling I make a goal in my trading activities which is more feasible to reach this goal compare to gambling. Anyway goodluck to the OP, and I hope you don’t lose much money before you achieve that.

Well, trading is different from gambling. There are still many possibilities of losing or being an addict due to the fact that there is a risk behind these activities. I hope you are going to achieve your goal, and OP the same, in the end.
I stopped placing goals like this one as I was losing my money because of my irrational decisions I was making.
5003  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many hours a day are you spending on online gambling? on: January 19, 2019, 05:07:36 PM
I was just thinking how much time people spend on gambling sites on a daily basis? I bounce back and forth between work

and household activities, but in my spare time, I like to chill with a beer in hand and doing some casual gambling. I do this

while watching TV, so it is part of my entertainment time.  Wink  Do you think, time spend on gambling is linked to gambling

addiction? Let's discuss this.  Wink

Edit : If you spend less than 1 hour on gambling, please chose option 1.  Wink

There are much time who spend A LOT of time in gambling. I remember myself waking up early and sleeping late because I was watching sports that I would like to bet at all day. However, I don't think that this is something that can make you a profit. If you spend a lot of time you are going to lose a lot of money eventually. This is how it works. It is a good way of entertainment though.
5004  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: January 19, 2019, 05:00:57 PM
I think James Harden is a very overrated player.  First off he barely gives any effort on defense, there are many clips of him just letting players blow by him without doing anything.  Referees are giving him too many foul calls and it has gotten to a point where he plays to draw fouls pretty much.  He likes to get intertwined with other players and he gets his foul shots 9/.1- times, very unfair.

Let me disagree with you. James Harden is one of the greatest players in NBA and I really believe that he deserves a ring in his career. Indeed, he is not very productive in the defensive part but he gives everything in attacking. In the end, he is a human being, he is not a machine! Does Steph Curry give any effort in the defense? I don't think so...

The thing that I don't like is that he needs to take all the efforts of the team. I would like to see another player in Rockets that contributes the same with Harden in order to give him some rest and let him perform even more better.
5005  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: January 19, 2019, 04:56:11 PM
Today's match, the derby of London, will be crucial to see who is going to get the 4th place in this season Premier League. Personally, I think that we are going to see a very good match with both teams scoring in the game. I am going to bet for Chelsea winning 1-2 against Arsenal and securing the 4th position in the league.

GG and Over 2.5 is a nice bet as well. (Just my personal feeling  Cool )
5006  Economy / Gambling / Re: Looking for an investor, everything is planned. on: January 19, 2019, 04:50:09 PM
My very first concern is what is the point of not giving more detail about what you want to do with this money? I mean, this money is a lot and never explain what are you going to do with them. I would never get in touch with someone who asks for money and he doesn't explain his plan in public. Apart from that, there are many other flags like your posts history for example that doesn't make you trustworthy.
5007  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2016/17 on: January 18, 2019, 07:18:01 PM
Real Madrid are pathetic without Ronaldo. I guess it is the football God’s playing their part, you can’t have everything nice in life forever. You must experience sadness at some point. The same as Man Utd after Ferguson retires — misery.
I think it would be a disaster for Real Madrid if they are not able to qualify for the Uefa Champions League next season, Real Madrid have lost their last match to Real Sociedad at the stadium of Santiago Bernabeu, I think Real Madrid is truly making a big mistake when they sold Cristiano Ronaldo away to Juventus, it is also pretty strange to see other famous football stars who are playing in Real Madrid unable to perform without Cristiano Ronaldo leading the team in front.

I think that the situation is going to be reversed in the near future and Real Madrid will manage to qualify to the Uefa Champions League. It is sad to see top class players underperforming after Ronaldo left the club as the squad was built based on his playstyle. The coach should find a new leader that is going to take the goal chances in difficult matches and under pressure if they want to get positive results.
5008  Economy / Economics / Re: What kind of a crypto business without an ICO on: January 18, 2019, 10:44:52 AM
So, now that we are in a bear market, I am no longer considering doing an ICO or security token offering and whatnot.
I still love crypto and I want to work on this sector.
What do you suggest I do, in terms of making a web site and making money with crypto.
I am good at statistics.

I would be able to give you more options if you hadn't said that you are good at statistics.  Grin
If you want to combine statistics with a website you can create your own site where you can upload analyses and predictions of future price trends for various coins. You can also offer your advice on trading giving signals etc.
5009  Economy / Economics / Re: thinking of selling or investing more. on: January 18, 2019, 10:00:28 AM
in current conditions and situations when the crypto currency has drastically decreased we as investors certainly have to be able and smart in seeing every opportunity in their investment sell if indeed they have gained profits and investment if we feel that it can benefit in the future of course confidence and patience are the main capital his
I agree with you, that we should be smart thinking as of now in order for us to gained profit in this present times or in the future. We should not be afraid taking risk in cryptocurrency if we know its full potential because surely in the near future the adoption of it will become huge that can give us a huge profit. Enhancing our strategies in the market would be a big help because it will guide us to continuously enter at the market and minimize the possible risk that it will be given.
I never thought of selling bitcoin and altcoin that I held. boring market conditions will only let us lose money, this is the point I see an opportunity to put some income into investment again and I hope to get profit in the near future

This is the best strategy. By seeing it as an opportunity you can reduce your losses from the bear market and the falling prices. I have a bad experience at selling into the bear market. It has led me to "panic selling" as after I sold the prices went up and then plummeted again. I have learnt now to act with prudence and keep my excitement behind.
5010  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Japan Regulators Denies Considering Approving a Bitcoin ETF on: January 18, 2019, 09:25:59 AM
Japan’s Financial Services Agency (FSA) has denied that it is considering allowing Bitcoin (BTC) exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

Last week, several sources including Bloomberg reported that Japan is exploring the possibility of approving Bitcoin ETFs as an alternative to Bitcoin futures.

The FSA has now denied its interest in ETFs, for the time being, suggests the news reported at Bloomberg may have been fed by someone with an interest in reviving interest in crypto trading in Japan.

A spokesperson for the agency clarified on Friday:

There is no such fact that we are considering approving ETFs which track crypto-assets at present … we are not currently considering approving them.

I really can't understand why people are so obsessed with Bitcoin ETF. If you have already bought your cryptos you don't need an ETF. I can agree that it will probably increase the value of the market but personally, I am more focused in bringing real value to the world with Blockchain and mass adoption rather than creating a market that institutional traders will be able to manipulate easier.
5011  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the Market Stabilizing? on: January 18, 2019, 08:53:47 AM
the condition of the cryptocurrency market will never be stable, there will certainly be people from various countries who move prices in exchange by buying or selling coins at the exchange, while current bitcoin prices may only be stable at $3k - $4k and it seems Bitcoin prices are difficult to return to expensive.

I think OP defines as stable something with a bigger price range. Indeed, the value of bitcoin will never be stable as this decentralized market never closes and the news come and go non-stop. This is the reason why bitcoin got the attention of people because it is open to everyone all day. We can say though that the market is stabilizing when it fluctuates in a range of $500.
5012  Economy / Economics / Re: Top 10 Reasons Why Bitcoin Is Falling Down on: January 18, 2019, 08:36:13 AM
Don't panic! Buy and hodl Angry j/k
I hope this year brings a regulated environment and more adoption

The environment is already regulated and this is one of the reasons why people cannot buy bitcoin. They haven't the option to buy crypto through their bank accounts or use their debit cards. If this regulated environment is what you want, you have it already. However, mass adoption is not possible to come and thrive into this regulatory trends that occur in the society.
5013  Economy / Exchanges / Re: The Limit of Buying Bitcoin in Coinbase on: January 17, 2019, 04:39:25 PM
Some people think there are limits of buying bitcoin in Coinbase. Do you think so? What are the limits? Can you share with me. Thanks a lot.  Cheesy

There is a limit of the amount you can buy. I think that this depends on the stage that your account is. I think that there are two levels, Level 1 and Level 2 where Level 1 regulates the amount of money you can deposit every month and Level 2 offers an unlimited amount of deposits that can be made through this account. (Correct me if I am mistaken as I am not 100% about it)
5014  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help learning about bitcoin? on: January 17, 2019, 04:36:09 PM
I just finished reading Digital Gold, and it was great , but I want a better understanding of the technicals. I heard about Mastering Bitcoin , do you guys think it's worth the time? It has five stars but it's quite long and I don't want to waste my time. I've also heard CryptoAssets is a good book on learning about cryptocurrency investing. Does anyone have any opinion about it? Is there a better crypto investing book out there? Aslo, what do you guys think of the book list at http://tradingbtx.com/post/2019-01-07-best-crypto-books/ ? It seems concise and it seems to cover the whole space? Do you guys have a better book list?

The sources you have mentioned are some very useful to continue learning techical stuff. I believe that you can find some help in this forum as well there are some threads that discuss technical issues and conversations become very interesting. That doesn't mean that you will learn everything. The blockchain is endless and it never ends.
5015  Economy / Economics / Re: Banking is Dead… Long live Blockchain Banking! on: January 17, 2019, 03:54:03 PM
There are some people in crypto community who are believing that blockchain will replace the current banking systems. However, all their basis is the concept of blockchain that hasn't been made to its potential. This is my reason why I believe that blockchain won't replace banks.

It hasn't been made to its potential due to regulations that pose banks and there are huge barriers for a big portion of the society that cannot access the cryptocurrency community.
As long as banks will find their way to implement the blockchain technology to its banking services that it is for sure that blockchain banking will be on top of anything. Same happened with Internet Banking.
5016  Economy / Economics / Re: Important conditions for the progress of bitcoin on: January 17, 2019, 03:36:35 PM
2017 history cannot be repeated, green leaves will continue to turn yellow and fall out as long as 2019 branches will begin to break one by one and large trees will fall in winding storms, it is a picture of Bitcoin in recent months.

I see the balance of the price of bitcoin still far from expectations, because there are several important conditions to be met.

First, of course, the recognition of bitcoin through regulation, so clearly the digital currency can be used as a payment tool for certain posts.

The second is from the crypto market side, there must be an official exchanger and be recognized by the government of each country. If the exchanger is still not regulated, the protocol is also vulnerable to cyber attacks. There is no standardization of fulfillment of feasibility, even though to guarantee consumer safety.

There needs to be cooperation from entrepreneurs to invest in buying Bitcoin with a large amount of scale to support rising price movements.

Let's support Bitcoin...

Bitcoin can still thrive without being recognized by anyone. And also I can't find a reason why entrepreneurs need to integrate cryptocurrencies as I can't find any benefit from it to them.
We support bitcoin by word-of-mouth and letting people that bitcoin is the real future that will reshape the internet world positively. Day by day the flow and the hype is gonna be bigger without much effort.
5017  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Triggers Gambling Addiction on: January 17, 2019, 03:10:16 PM
It is the same thing that triggers other addiction, greed. You want to achieve more and more never satisfied with what you already have or reach now. Even when you already won a lot of money, you will still feel you need to win over other people. It's not always about the money though, sometimes we found a game that actually has no end, but we felt like we need to find the ending, we need to finish the game. And honestly, I have been in that stage.

It is in our nature to be greedy. We always try to search and acquire more. This is what casinos take advantage of and be profitable. I was in the stage of being greedy but this didn't make me good because I was gambling more and I was trying to make more money but unluckily I didn't. This triggered my addiction and I think that this happens in the majority of people that are involved in gambling.
5018  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 30 days challenge with DICE on: January 17, 2019, 01:15:38 PM
Can someone explain:

How the hell he is loosing more than winning and still his profit is going up ?  Cheesy
At the end his losses are 1.5 times more than wins and still he has got 342 doge coins of profit...

I think this is a total profit and not the net profit. I am not sure what I should believe but I think OP has amazing editing skills and he is excellent in photoshopping.
It is hard to believe how 2% every day can be accumulated without any losses during that days.
5019  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Definition of Winning in Gambling on: January 17, 2019, 01:08:12 PM
This is my result in searching the meaning of “Winning”

Quote
Definition of winning (Entry 1 of 2)
1 : the act of one that wins : VICTORY

From: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/winning

How would you know that you have really one? Is it just one game? Only one chance where you get the W or the L? Is that already the Victory that is defined or Defeat when you lose?

This came into my thoughts when I read somewhere here in BTCT that when are you going to stop? And a lot of people have suggested that they will stop when they have already won. It got me thinking, how would be a Win?

There could be a lot of factors on when someone is going to stop. It probably depends on what type of person you are but seeing everyone has their own opinions, you could share everything here.

We are in a fast paced world where people would want to have instant income basically instant gratification. Could that be a win already? What is the motivation knowing that you are continue to win and lose when you gamble. What is the TRUE meaning of ”Winning” in gambling for you? Is it successful profits or satisfied game even if you lose?

When I first started gambling I was thinking that I would be a winner when I will accumulate the amount of money that I was targeted to. This made me only playing and playing more, making me be far away from my target as the gap was getting bigger. From that time I realized that this is not gonna happen, I see gambling as a way of entertainment and this is how I win from it.
5020  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: January 17, 2019, 12:55:45 PM
Interesting statistic for today's game between the Rockets and the Brookly nets.
Harden total FT attempt 23  ==>>>  Brookly nets team total FT attempt is 22  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Winner Nets - 145 -142

Harden does all the work for Rockets. On the other hand, sometimes other players need to take some attempts in order to rest him a little bit and keep the flow of the game as normal. Sometimes, after a huge streak of Harden and when he can't find a way to the basket Rockets seems to be helpless. I believe this is the role of Harden in the team however they don't have a full roster to support my thinking.
