I am looking for an article called:

"As a member of German Pirate Party what is your stance on Julia Schramm's vehement defense of her copyright?"

Haha, I see you read my post in Politics&Society. Thanks for the question, I didn't know about that story. I caught up with it on the spiegel website:
http://www.spiegel.de/international/germany/pirate-party-member-julia-schramm-slammed-for-defending-copyright-a-856977.html

First of all, she is kind of cute! Would mind discussing the book with her in private Wink
More to the point, the publisher made the takedown request, and not Frau Schramm. Still, she is backpedalling on her earlier statements against copyright and that's disappointing. Furthermore, it also means the end of her career with the Pirate Party but it did net her a nice 100k, so not too bad of a choice Wink
What can I say, I condemn her actions, but don't agree with people who call her a "corporate whore", "slut", etc. The lady made a choice to sell out and that's her decision.

BTW, on an unrelated note I googled your article request with the quotes, and found out that google has already parsed this very post. Scary how quickly they do it.

Good answer. I'll make a tick mark under the "good guys" column  Smiley

I came to know my real father only as an adult.  So when I got the opportunity to know him better, I was eager and curious.  His name was James Ray Houston (the focus of the indictment).  He was very charismatic and had a wild past from having ran for governor in Nevada.  At one time he had a Lear jet with his picture on the tail.  He'd gone broke and rich several times since and had a zillion GREAT stories to tell.  I was completely enamored.  At that time he had been building a business bundling lottery tickets and selling shares of ownership in their potential winnings.  He moved to simply guaranteeing the ticket results on his own via re-insurance pools (US Pattent application number US 2004/0058726 A1).  At some point after that it became clear to him that he could use my company's software system and sportsbook license to clarify legality and allow his customers to bet on the outcome of a lottery without buying a lottery ticket.  .  So instead of "I bet the Giants win by 7", it's "I bet the NY Lottery pick 3 is 4-7-2".

Jesus Christ, it's a 1930s numbers racket.

just put wallet.dat into your bitcoin folder and start up bitcoin-qt

It should find the wallet then, if not start bitcoin-qt with the -rescan option

Hello, Brandon, I would pay btc for a video of you kicking Jerrod in the nuts for reusing his name while trying to scam people.

Is this viable?

I would like to know more about his involvement with Laissez Faire City, James Orlin Grabbe and thus the KGB as outlined in https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=110805.0

The KGB?

Great, now we're back to "Bitcoin is a massive SHA-256 brute force cracker botnet". Everyone was tooling for THE STAAAATE all along.  Shocked

So he got all this trouble for challenging state monopoly on lotteries? Brace yourselves them, as you're all involved in challenging state monopoly on currency.

Nooooo, the trouble was collecting money to buy lottery ticket, that were never bought.

Aside from the fraud stuff that is claimed, which we don't know if it's true, it could be similar to what we see very often and is also described as aggressive marketing.

This is like Bruce Wagner all over again.

Cool "We don't know if he really is a fraudster."
Huh "Here's the court documents sentencing him to prison for fraud."
Cool "Yeah, maybe, but we don't know if he really is a fraudster."

Private Military Company
Call it the NSS (Not Sure if Serious)

I was thinking more along the lines of BitForce Gamma (BFG)

Private Military Company

Operating globally ? Do you need a Partner ?

We will certainly entertain applications from all nations, races or religions (except vegetarians).

Citation from the last conference material (http://shadowlife.cc/files/btcotc.pdf (slide #18)):

Quote
We should not try to get legality for Bitcoin, we should not ask the state to resolve conflicts in the community.

What should we do then?

I am in the process of setting up a bitcoin based PMC for conflict resolution.
5016  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you think that there is something funny about BFL's new ASIC on: September 20, 2012, 12:36:55 PM
Seems like all these so-called asics producers want your money before they even have produced a single asic-miner at all? And if you do not get involved now, either way you never get one that will pay itself back in a reasonable time, or will have to pay almost double the pre-order price when waiting.

it was the same with their fpga's and they did deliever.
i am not afraid Wink

Google Hustling, Three card Monte or shell game
5017  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you think that there is something funny about BFL's new ASIC on: September 20, 2012, 11:20:27 AM
Well, October is near. Either they start delivering some ASIC or then i'll add them to my scam list

Remember that delivering FPGA is much much much easier than ASIC  Wink

But but but look at how they bought each and every adspace on the forums and then some. There's no way they would try to grab as much as they can in a last ditch effort before deploying their ASICS....

I've got a hooker bar close to my home and sneak out once a week or so for a smoke while the wife's at work, last time I got my nob smoked it was a hell of a lot more than what you've costed do you really think students have got this sort of money?

I would imagine the price very much depends on how thoroughly the pipes are cleaned.
