I'll take any good news at this point.

5024  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: April 28, 2014, 05:57:45 PM
Would be very curious to see this as a poll, just to see if Bitcoin would be picked at a 100% rate.

5026  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: confuse mining or buy coin wait highest price ???? on: April 28, 2014, 02:10:36 PM
Buying and holding is the safest and easiest choice, not to mention most inexpensive.

Mining, there's little to no guarantee on ROI in BTC or fiat at the moment.
5027  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will 1 Bitcoin will Reach 1 million usd one day? on: April 26, 2014, 11:01:59 PM
Before I go to sleep I want to say that I though till now that Bitcoin will never hit $1mil.

But suddenly I changed my mind!!

And I predict - Bitcoin will hit $1mil in 20104 Smiley

You mean 2140 right?

That's when the last Bitcoin is generated, and when our great grand children will be zillionaires :-)

I would also like to join this campaign:

btc address: 1L7RPAAfE1Z4Xi6iYSnkJD389Ukybgq9gZ
current posts: 291 (as of this post)

Just a clarification, if you don't mind: posts anywhere in the forum count towards this campaign right? Off-topic, other languages, etc.

As long as they're constructive.

No +1 or I agree or LOL type posts.  Those don't count.

You know, I can't believe he got this automated.  That is a big selling point too, how apparently they pay you right away on the 1st vs. the PD one we usually have to wait a couple days.  Chuck, I'm not going to hold my peace  Wink if Ritz stays well above PD I'll have to switch, if they are still accepting new members.

Come one come all!   Wink

The more posters the merrier.  It's like a cult, I mean a family, in RGC.   Tongue

5032  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.99/GH/s, miners from $2.97/GH/s on: April 25, 2014, 07:58:53 PM
3.We are keeping our promise to price match per Ghash any genuine new miner in stock at the time of shipment and if needed we will dispatch more hashing power.
Note: Not all our competitors supply PSUs and Touch Screen LCDs, therefore if we compare our miners with these we will subtract the price of our extra hardware before the price match.

Excellent. Bitmain is already shipping miners at $1.5/ghps. So if someone paid $6k for Prosperos, they should be getting at least 4 TH/s right now. In a month when you actually do ship, we're talking more like 5 TH/s. Looking forward to seeing you match the competitors.

I think they mean any new hardware. The S1 uses 2 W/Gh so it's difficult to compare to. Is there any new miners in stock that beat BA's $/gh? If there are, please list them here to bring it to their attention. But they should double the hash for the delay alone. The difficulty will be more than doubled since the original shipping date.

Do the the Dragon 1T miners count?  They're cheaper than Black Arrow.  $2.75/GH

The Bit-tech Bitmine 1 TH/s miner is also cheaper.  $2.35/GH

The Spondoolies June SP10 is cheaper.  $2.49/GH

The Avalon 820G is another one.  $2.56/GH

Basically Black Arrow has no choice but to make it right, they're late and already beat price wise by their competitors.
5033  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Should I try to sell my Lancelot FPGA? on: April 25, 2014, 07:39:22 PM
$350 USD plus shipping for 1.6 GH/s.  Wow, that is aggressive!   Shocked

Good luck with that sale.  Guessing, whoever buys it, will be for the nostalgia factor, or a bookshelf conversation piece.

How many of you here take your monthly BTC from the signature campaign and deposit it in an account at Ritz?   I know there are a bunch of people within Primedice that go and play dice every month after they get paid...

Dice is boring as hell.  High, low, whoop dee doo.

At least Ritz is a full casino, with all the major games, and the graphics and sound are well done.

PD's site, though not terrible, is pretty vanilla.
5036  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Overclock the Antminer S1 to 200GH/s] The EASY way! - updated to 393.75MHz ASIC on: April 25, 2014, 06:32:27 PM
Thank you, put after reading the thread I see some calculating should be made regarding the HW error %

I have:

HW = 1550
DiffA = 187984
DiffR = 480
DiffS = 0

That comes to 0.008 (I guess 0.8%) with the HW / (HW+Diffa+DiffR+DiffS) formula

If this correct? I see hashing power at 200 (poolside)

Easier way:

http://instacalc.com/20772

0.81% isn't terrible.  I'd stick with it.
5037  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Overclock the Antminer S1 to 200GH/s] The EASY way! - updated to 393.75MHz ASIC on: April 25, 2014, 06:19:48 PM
Hi!

This worked perfect Smiley However Now I have 50% HW, so is there a way to easily roll back to 180GH/s or perhaps 190 to see if that's better?

Easy,Download "Putty" then "Putty" into the Antminer IP address, login with root / root, cd /etc/config, vim asic-freq, hit Insert, then change the 393.75M values to 375M instead like the below.

Code:
package 'cgminer'

config 'asic-freq' 'default'
    #option 'freq_value'  '4f81' #400M
    #option 'chip_freq'   '400'
    #option 'timeout'    '35'

    option 'freq_value'  '4e81' #375M
    option 'chip_freq'   '375'
    option 'timeout'    '37'

    #option 'freq_value'   '4d81' #350M
    #option 'chip_freq'   '350'
    #option 'timeout'    '40'

    #option 'freq_value'  '4c81' #325M
    #option 'chip_freq'   '325'
    #option 'timeout'    '40'

    #option 'freq_value'  '0b81' #300M
    #option 'chip_freq'   '300'
    #option 'timeout'    '45'

    #option 'freq_value'  '0981' #250M
    #option 'chip_freq'   '250'
    #option 'timeout'    '55'

    #option 'freq_value'  '0781' #200M
    #option 'chip_freq'   '200'
    #option 'timeout'    '70'

    #option 'freq_value'  '4f02' #193M
    #option 'chip_freq'   '193'
    #option 'timeout'    '70'

After you've done this, hit ESC then hit :
Type wq ENTER, then exit out of Putty, and do a system reboot from the Antminer GUI.

After rebooting your Ant, your miner status should say 375M, your HW should decrease, and your hashrate should be around 190 GH/s.

Good luck.
5038  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Setting up antminers to mine ~ 100 Ghash or so? on: April 25, 2014, 05:40:27 PM
Buying a s1 would probably be better as you'd save time and space im assuming, maybe costs. 100 gh/s is the bare minimum, maybe $4 a day? I mean go ahead if you want to, but IMO I'd just wait for prices to go down a little bit more and just buy a bitcoin outright.

Why wait?  Anything sub $500 is a good deal for BTC.  We just got PBOC'ed by China again overnight, but still remain resilient in bouncing back up.

Buy BTC up now.   Wink

5040  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTB Antminer S1 on: April 25, 2014, 05:28:24 PM
Looking for pick up in Los Angeles area.  If you got a large electricity bill PM and get them of your hands.

Why not just order new from Bitmaintech directly?  Only 0.63 BTC and ships anywhere within 3-5 days.
Because if it comes broken you are SOL.

That's the S2s.  There are tens of thousands of S1s shipped worldwide, and maybe a few failures are reported.  Let's say failures of S1s in the hundred or hundreds to be generous.  You do the math.   Roll Eyes

If you don't feel safe dealing with Bitmain's customer service (in case any technical issues), order from Ninjatech or 112bit, they are the North America distributors and speak perfect English(obviously).
