5021  Local / Altcoins (Hrvatski) / Re: Binance kartica on: January 25, 2021, 09:32:29 AM

5022  Economy / Reputation / Re: Unchanged alt remains cheating in the DeFi-For-You campaign. on: January 24, 2021, 02:29:05 PM
This is so ridiculous. The man who have two or more brother, they don’t join same bounty. This is not valid reason Sir.
This is totally unfair.
Thing is, this "relative" excuse has been used so many times by numerous cheaters who were breaking bounty campaign rules that no one will believe you now , even if what you are saying it's true and your brother is behind that other account. I remember that some even shared picture of their alleged family, all "working" together. It didn't help of course.

It might seen not fair to you, but in 99.99%+ of the chances it is a case a bounty rule abuse.
5023  Economy / Speculation / Re: Best Youtube Channel for Bitcoin price and prediction on: January 24, 2021, 01:54:18 PM
These are all the "moon boys" and if you watch their videos, they will only say that bitcoin will go up and up and up. But actually it is not the case as bitcoin is in downtrend from Jan 04.
Well, they are saying that because we are in the bull market, but if price suddenly drops down hard they would change the narrative immediately. They are just going along with the current sentiment and trying to profit from it.

Generally, the more exposures you have to news (televisions, social media, press releases from websites as well as videos from Youtube channels or signal groups), the more uncertainty you will have, the more bias your thoughts will be.
+1

Signal to noise ratio is so bad that being too "informed" will probably bring more bad than good and it might make you doubt yourself which could cause making stupid moves. I did that mistake in the past when i was a noob and I thought that YouTubers know what they are talking about.

What's even more incredibly annoying about YT are their ads, so even though I may realize that the ad appears before the video, when they interrupt my video in the middle of watching to play another ad just to pay the premium account, they increasingly turn me away from using their service.
Oh yeah, there are so many adds at the moment and number keeps getting up that it will be impossible to use YouTube without premium, but I guess thats their long term goal. I am already seriously considering that.
5024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Quantity of Altcoins to buy? on: January 24, 2021, 09:56:00 AM
What would people normally spend on this coin? Obviously as many as you can in case it shoots up to Ł10 a coin... But just keen to understand how people think / buy.

Would you spend Ł20 or Ł100. Or does it depend on your overall goal short term or long term?

For me, it all depends on the size of my portfolio. Somewhere back in late 2018/early 2019 I got rid of all the altcoins except ETH (I sold those altcoins at the loss but that proved as a good long term decision since  they sunk even more compared to BTC) and just a week ago I bought my first altcoins in the last couple of years. The way I decided how much to invest was simple: I set aside 5% of my portfolio (still keeping BTC in the 80-85% area) and decided to spread that amount evenly between few alts. Since I generally suck at trading and for me hodl works best, I invested in those that I think will perform good in the next 3-6 months.

Just remember, investing in altcoins is a huge gamble so you shouldn't overexpose yourself.
5025  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fake Polkadot(DOT) website and fake app in Google Play on: January 24, 2021, 09:06:09 AM
These scammers even upload such apps by evading Google's app upload rules. So we can't just blame Google for everything. Because when Google finds a report that the app is fake, they delete it from the Playstore as soon as possible.
Sure, people should be more careful when downloading the apps and ideally do it directly from developers website but with just a few tweaks Google could reduce number of fake apps considerably. How hard is to manually check an app from the developer that is submitting first app on the Play Store? Just this would be enough to reduce most of the fake apps, but I guess that would mean hiring more people.

Regarding the time in which Google removes reported apps, they slack in that regard too, just take for example fake Trezor wallet. It was uploaded two and a half weeks ago, has hundreds of fake reviews, 1,000 + downloads and even Trezor warned about the app via Twitter (and probably reported it to Google) and that app is still there. If that is not negligence than I don't know what it is.
5026  Economy / Speculation / Re: Best Youtube Channel for Bitcoin price and prediction on: January 24, 2021, 08:29:40 AM
Its generally a bad idea to take an investment advices from YouTubers, especially when it comes to altcoins as they could be paid to promote certain altcoin. The other day I stumbled upon one funny picture that pretty much sums up crypto YouTube scene, which is full of shillers and clickbaiters whose only goal is to get more subscribers via ridiculous claims and price predictions as they know that people will like to hear "moon soon".

With that being said, I do watch one ocassionaly , and thats Crypto Daily but only because I think that he is funny af, so for me it's more about amusement factor than actually listening about their predictions.
5027  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BEST GAMBLING MOVIES OF ALL TIME on: January 24, 2021, 07:53:52 AM
Up until recently it was The Gambler (the one from 1974, not the one with Mark Wahlberg) in which James Caan had one of the best roles of his career. But then last year Uncut Gems by Safdie brothers showed up, totally blowing my mind. Prior watching i didn't expect much as I am not the biggest Adam Sandler fan, but he had an Oscar worthy performance there, I've never seen degenerate gambler portrayed better. It is a brilliant film, but due hectic style and attack on the senses (even though it makes perfect sense) might be too much for some but its definitely worth of trying.

Few honorable mentions: California Split, The Cooler, Rounders, Molly's Game, Vegas Vacation ( underrated wacky comedy with Chevy Chase)..
5028  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why did the bitcoin fall? on: January 23, 2021, 09:53:17 PM
Just stop it... Bitcoin dropped 11% because it pumped from 10k to 40k in 2 months! Not because of irrelevant rumour. Its bubble time. Get ready for 20% daily candles. Ride the waves instead of trying to find a reason. Reason is here on market ... its money from extreme price movements.
+1

Everyone is trying to pinpoint the exact reason why bitcoins dropped, while all these little fuds and news doesn't really matter and don't affect the price as much as people like to think. Sometimes, people will just take the profits which is understandable after going from 10 k to 40 in a matter of few months.

Because of the articles that have brought fear to the people who don't have much experience in bitcoin. They've thought that the news that came out about double spending is for real.
And that made them able to sell and panic.
I honestly think that this drop would most likely happen with or without the news. But people feel better when they think that they know the exact reason why price drops or goes down. I wish it was that simple..
5029  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning] 10 fake wallets on Google Play - please report them on: January 23, 2021, 09:27:47 AM
This one seems fake as well, a Binance app, and obviously using Binance logo. It might steal users credentials.

Code:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jex.trade
I've seen this app before and at first I also thought that it is fake but then I saw that it is available on Play Store since April 2019, which was kinda strange to be available for so long and on top of that it had huge amount of downloads for a fake app (50,000+, but that can be faked too as well) so I decided to dig a little bit deeper. It turns out that Binance JEX  is indeed legit app &trading platform and owned by Binance. They acquired JEX back in September 2019

Binance is pleased to announce the acquisition of JEX, a crypto-asset trading platform offering spot and derivatives trading services. JEX will join the Binance ecosystem as Binance JEX and focus on further building the cryptoasset derivatives market, providing Binance users with professional services including futures contracts, options and other derivative products.

Through this acquisition, Binance will manage the JEX team and the JEX tokens run by its Foundation, introducing more utility to the JEX token. In a longer term, JEX tokens will be gradually distributed to all users via marketing activities and community incentives; subsequently, the tokens will be gradually retrieved and burned in various forms including trading commission deductions and so on.

If you go to https://www.jex.com and check the apps available, it leads directly to the same app that you mentioned, Binance JEX.

5030  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how to buy and to store bitcoin on: January 23, 2021, 08:22:08 AM
As other suggested, if you want to buy  BTC without getting involved with exchanges, ATM is one of the easiest ways. I just wanna warn you that buying BTC that way is usually more expensive since generally ATMs have high fees (I've used them in several countries and fees was over 5%). From what I can see on coinatmradar.com, all ATM providers in Switzerland have a daily cap on how much one person can buy/sell (1,000-5,000 Euro) meaning there is some sort of verification needed, which kinda sucks as you are already paying high fee so one would expect to have less restrictions and without verification.

Before immediately buying 1 BTC, I would advise you to buy some smaller amount first to get yourself familiar with it, make a few transactions from wallet to wallet just to avoid any fatal mistakes as once you send bitcoin to an address that you don't have access to, it's gone forever.
5031  Economy / Reputation / Re: [LIST] ANN threads that are using bumping services on: January 22, 2021, 06:27:27 PM
I haven't updated my branch for a long time ... and since you update yours regularly, you should add the missing data.
When I started making this list I've decided to include only those announcement threads that were active at the moment of discovery, and not those that were once active. Since I see that threads you mentioned are not active for quite some time (and Amepay is already on the list)  I won't add them. Thing is, there are so many threads that once hired bumping service that if I started adding them retroactively list would be at least 4x longer than it is now.

And I want to ask you to add "Proof" to the main line, (so that anyone can refer to proofs).
Thanks for reminder, that's something I though about adding and will do eventually.

One more ANN thread added to the list, making it 94th.

[ANN][IEO]Axentro - An original, proof of work Blockchain for decentralised Apps

As always, I checked Axentro to see if I can find some dirt, but seems to me like it checks out, at least at those basic things like team&whitepaper. Nevertheless, for some reason they decided to hire shillers, and same accounts that are shilling their ANN is doing the same thing for another name on the list, Baex.
5032  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is down a lot on: January 22, 2021, 11:16:22 AM
Since all time high two weeks ago was approximately 42,000 USD and we dropped yesterday at ~29,000 USD, that makes it 30% correction so I wouldn't  say that was something completely unexpected considering how much price increased in the last couple of months. It is true that Grayscale and others are amassing BTC at the crazy rate (probably more than it's being mined every day which eventually pushed the price) but still these can of drops are expected. People are bound to take profits after the rally and buy back in at the lower price, nothing wrong there.

Really? How much did gray capital invest on Bitcoin? So we can assuming the effect of their investment to the current market.
Just during December 2020 they increased BTC bag by more than 72,000 and  few days ago  they bought more than 16,000. Here you can see how much crypto they have at the moment.
5033  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fake Polkadot(DOT) website and fake app in Google Play on: January 22, 2021, 10:12:31 AM
Seeing how popular Polkadot is at the moment, no wonder that scammers are faking their website. If anything, scammers are easily adaptable and will choose most popular projects at any given moment. Worst of all, that often works. Good catch by the way!

Also I spotted a fake Polkadot application as well in Google Play, recently created, January 13,2021.

Code:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tazg.polkaddotpvortfolio
Hm, link of the app that you shared leads to a different one than on the screenshot. That app is on the Play Store since December 2nd .

On the other hand, this is the link to the app that you shared on the screenshots and is released on July 3rd 2020 (updated on January 13th).
Code:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.polkawallet.www.polka_wallet

Then there is another Polkadot wallet available with a few hundreds of downloads,  but I am not sure which one is fake, and which one is real.
Code:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dott.polkedotmobile
5034  Local / Altcoins (Hrvatski) / Re: Binance kartica on: January 22, 2021, 08:34:41 AM

Following types of transactions are excluded for the cashback calculation: Transactions on digital wallets, digital banking services, crypto exchanges, stored value products, money remittance services are excluded from the BNB Rewards program. The list of qualified merchants is subject to change by Binance and Partners.
5035  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC double spend microtransaction on: January 21, 2021, 10:35:30 PM
It's very obvious this "news" is why the dump happened. That much is clear. This is not small news (if it were true). If it were true it'd be the end of blockchain! It's 100% the reason the market dumped today. It's just sad that a false story like this causes a market dump through support levels and going lower than it ever would have otherwise. Great for people who were waiting to buy lower, but this false news story looks like it will extend and deepen this correction which is pretty absurd. Looks like $30k might just break in a few minutes on this false news - down to low $30,000 right now.
It's not obvious at all, but people do like to think that they pinpointed the exact reason why price suddenly increased or decreased.

If this fake news about double spend indeed caused the price drop, why price didn't go up as soon as it was proven that its nothing but a fud. Corrections after a big really always happen so i don't know why is everyone surprised that it is happening. People expect we go straight to 100, 000 USD without few bumps on the road?
5036  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC double spend microtransaction on: January 21, 2021, 10:15:50 PM
It appears as if a small double spend of around 0.00062063 BTC ($21) was detected

This is why the bitcoin price dropped Smiley
First of all, it was just an attempt of double spend, which some media misunerstood and shared, creating some fud. Andreas Antonopulos was right about calling out some of those for sharing misinformation.

Regarding the price I don't think that this has to do anything with the today price drop, as bitcoin price is going up and down for some to me mower, ever since we reached 40k+. People do like to explain why sometimes price goes up and down whle in reality some small news like this doesn't affect price at all.
5037  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The right way to store Bitcoin for long term on: January 21, 2021, 09:45:15 PM

1) Is something like a Nano Ledger or a Trezor the right method?
Yep, hardware wallet is definitely a good option. I am personally using Ledger Nano S for a long term hold and beside some hiccups I am generally satisfied with the device itself. App (Ledger Live) could be better though but if you use it for long term btc hold you shouldn't have much issues with it. Ledger as a comoany had some data breach problems so you wanna keep that in mind too.

2) What app should be used?
I am personally using blockchain wallet, but only as a hot wallet where I have few hundred dollars worth of crypto max. That's definitely not the place where you wanna keep your bitcoin  for a longer period of time.

Another good alternative for a very long term hodl  you might wanna consider is paper wallet. It will cost you nothing and if done properly it is a very safe way to store your bitcoin. Here is a guide how to do it.
5038  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: January 21, 2021, 05:52:19 PM
So Collin Sexton just single destroyed The Nets last night in NBA making 42 POINTS, 5 of 3 points and 5 assists and I might say that he was untouchable last night as Nets really tried at some point to make everything to stop him but the guy was nowhere to be stopped.
It's just one of those night where player can't miss, these things happen, but Sexton is pretty decent player overall who can score and Nets simply didn't take him seriously and that's the result of that attitude. Then again, whole Cavs team was on a shooting spree last night, you won't see  worst offensive team in the league shooting 20/40  for three often.

The bench did look awful. There’s a huge drop off from player 5 to player 6. The offense looked terrible too. They constantly had to rely on 1 on 1 situations and while they’re good enough to make that work, it isn’t going to be reliable enough in the playoffs. Luckily they have plenty of time to try and put an offense together, but last night wasn’t close to it. Kyrie especially looked out of place and determined to do it alone. He failed.
Yeah offense did look better with Durant and Harden, now with Kyrie back they will have to adjust again. If we base it on the last game, Harden already tried as I don't remember last time he didn't score in the first quarter at all, he was kinda reserved. I do think that they will eventually figure things out as those three player have so much offensive potential that it would be a shame if that don't happen.
5039  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Pregled Bitcointalk Signature-Ad kampanja on: January 21, 2021, 03:46:07 PM

Treba nam jos jedan takav sig bull run Smiley
5040  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Grayscale Crypto on: January 21, 2021, 01:28:33 PM

Inace, koga zanima Grayscale malo detaljnije, @fillippone je napisao dobar pregled Everything you wanted to know about Grayscale BTC Trust but were afraid to ask!
