5021  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambler Loses 1.4 million USD in a bet with lower than 1.01 odds! on: April 23, 2023, 12:27:24 PM
As suggested only thing that can be done is through reducing the stake, because we can't be sure of the outcome. With the mentioned odd losing the bet is really unbelievable, but things happen for our bad luck. Maybe this bet loss could be a big learning for more other users who have the mentality to go for high stakes on low odds.
it's quite simple that all types of bets in gambling still depend on luck even though sports betting is famous for the greater luck that you get from analyzing one of the teams, but there will always be surprises in every match. so there's no need to be too greedy for betting large amounts at small odd.
and some people here must think that the guy bet 1.4 million dollars just because of greed.

In gambling, Luck plays a huge part. It is the modifier that dictates the result of the game.  Sports betting being categorized as a skill-based game is still dependent on the chance of things happening.  Like the chance of a player not performing well, a chance of unexpected lapses on players, and the chance of an accidental field goal, there are lots of scenarios where luck can play a huge part to change the course of the game.  Just like what happened in this game where the guy losses 1.4m.  The guy bet on the leading team but the opponent caught up and win.
Indeed. Odds are not only the basis because the result can change unexpectedly if the scenarios that you mentioned happened during the game (in sports betting). Just shows there's no 100% assurance in gambling, so don't bet huge amount if you can't bear losing it incase something went wrong. It's still better to risk a money that you're still fine even you happen to lose it. So before placing a bet always think twice and lower your hopes to not have regrets after since you're prepared regardless of the result.
You wrote like someone that understands gambling. It's a thing to gamble and not understand how to preserve your account or be affected by the outcome, and it's another thing to gamble, fully understand the risk and have the managerial calculation that will never let the outcome bothers you. Gambling with a huge amount is just off, if there is money, gambling could be well planned and divided into different games that if one loses, the other will win. That is wisdom, and no one should risk more than what they can afford to lose.
5022  Economy / Economics / Re: Americans go to Mexico for medicals to cut costs. on: April 23, 2023, 09:20:31 AM
The reason that made US companies set up their business or factory in another country is the same reason why people could go elsewhere to access the facilities and services that the US could provide. Cost is the factor! Medical tourism is not an exception, people are trying to cut costs, and if the alternative could deliver the same service or almost the same service, then it's a good bargain as far as I'm concerned.

By doing that, some people must have cut more than divided by 4 of what they would have spent in the US, particularly during this time of inflation.
I think that no country should move factories in another country. It's weakening country and making another one stronger. Yeah, one can take an advantage for a while but long-term, it's destroying. I think, at some point, it's manually done by big countries to push poor countries to work on low salaries. Move factories there, give them salary low enough to buy only food and then push them to work a lot. This way, you keep labor cheap, make them tired enough with low salary to not be able to develop themselves and benefit your own country. Why should an American retard youtuber get paid more than a very hard-working person in factory whose work actually benefits the society and hundreds of people.
But high medical costs in the USA are far from that reason. As far as I know, medical business, in terms of pricing, is absolutely unregulated in the USA. There is no logical reason that makes X service in the USA to cost 20x more than in Turkey. It's more likely a cartel between the hospitals/pharmacy, insurance agencies and the government.
You are getting something wrong here, the US like any other country can never enslave their citizen, and mind you, many countries are coming to the US for tourism, it could be medical and others, so money is moving in and out of every country. This is why you should have good service and a reasonable price. If a Yankee that earns a little could not afford to pay medical bills in the US but could easily do that in another country that will serve the same service, won't such go? Or do you want the government of the US to stop them? No, my friend.

As for the YouTuber's narration, this is a misconception, markets vary. What the medicals are paying is not what factories, farms and others are paying, it all varies. A booming market is different from a dull market. The social media market is rich and booming, you can't expect those that keep it active to be paid less while the companies pocket billions of dollars yearly.

Frankly, some are spending huge amounts on their channels, they deserve the huge payments.
5023  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: April 23, 2023, 08:39:27 AM
It weren't easy win for Liverpool that i can see Nottingham Forest were performing well and their counter attack were very danger and indeed Liverpool also lucky because at the end of second half Brennan Johnson almost be equalized the scores and maybe if his shot didn't hitting the crossbar probably Liverpool only able to collect 1 point from this match and although Liverpool win but i didn't satisfied to their performance because they were unable to playing such as they beat Leeds last week

Yes, I also think it wasn’t an easy win for Liverpool. They had outplayed their opponents in the first half of the game but couldn’t score a goal. The second half, however was more more impressive than the first as both teams put on a wonderful performance and scored goals. Nottingham Forest played really good(mostly In the second half) and almost matched Liverpool on number of goals scored.
I think Liverpool, no matter how good they played, were lucky to have gotten away with a win in the game as their opponents lost some good chances that would have definitely resulted in goals.
Liverpool has not been living up to expectations this season but they did well yesterday in my opinion, let's appreciate it when they at least deliver. We all know that Liverpool is not in their best form now, they need to be appreciated, and if not for their experience and determination yesterday, they would have lost that match. The scoring were following one another until the Reds scored the goal that sealed the game.

Nothing will let me conclude they do not deserve praise, at least 'an injured club is still trying to walk.'
5024  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Future of Bitcoin: Unlocking the Potential of Decentralized Finance on: April 23, 2023, 08:23:32 AM
What is DeFi ?
DeFi is a project that challenges the CeFi we all know. It simply means Decentralized Finance which is the opposite of the Centralized Finance we all know in which our money and assets would be custodial and overseen by a regulator, which includes the central bank. DeFi changed the narrative by using the Peer-Peer approach in which there will not be an oversight authority, yet still fulfilling the obligations of banks, liquidity providers and financial institutions.

and how can Bitcoin use it?
Of course, Bitcoin uses it, but not as much as networks like Ethereum which has more projects due to its scalability. Yet, Bitcoin as the number one and the most decentralized crypto network, the DeFi project is useful through it. Projects like Stack and Liquid Network among others are proof of this.
5025  Economy / Economics / Re: Argentina's Central Bank running out of dollars as inflation hits 100% on: April 23, 2023, 08:05:31 AM
The situation in Argentina is so pathetic and undermanaged as things are getting out of hand monthly. Truly, inflation has been bitting hard since late 2021 but many countries are using measures to tame it, but not Argentina with the recent uprising figures. While the 100% that your topic captioned was not just hit, their inflation figure has been moving above that level at least since February according to Focus Economics.

Their annual average as of Match was 84.8%, but this might continue to rise if a decisive measure is not applied.

5027  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Lets Brain storm on how to limit losses... on: April 22, 2023, 04:33:59 PM
There are a lot of reasons why traders lose, and based on my experience, the most reasons why they lose are due to greed and revenge trading. Trading is for mature minds that have a plan and set out calculations to achieve the plan under strict rules. Anything that makes such a trader degenerate from the plan would surely ruin his trading account.

Frankly without wasting time, a trader that would limit/minimise losses and preserve his trading account for a long time duration must be;
1. Disciplined and determined
2. Must have a foolproof trading strategy with a high winning percentage to avoid discouragement
3. Must have proper and balanced money and risk management.

Do this, and you will always be happy with your trading account.
5028  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: April 22, 2023, 09:37:17 AM

Yes, in fact FIFA always makes reviews throughout the 4 years of construction of the World Cup and makes inspections with experts and they always keep their reports, in fact when things don't add up they are capable of taking away the venues, as happened in some sub 17 tournaments, now for the World Cup the demanding standards are higher, so the World Cup has to guarantee the highest quality in the stadiums and in the main soccer regulations, these things will always exist, I imagine that in every World Cup new things come up, and hosts have to meet those demands.

The quality of the stadiums and any other facilities should be obviously higher than the last world cup we saw because four years passed and we can have better technologies for stadiums and this can definitely help the hosts, while in some countries they don't have a good financial system like Qatar does, they can't provide good quality facilities if they don't already have enough facilities.
I still wonder what gives FIFA the unwarranted reason to change the football's narrative, letting many countries host the World Cup will not be cost-effective to viewers who make themselves physically available. But this might be more money for FIFA which might be their plan. I will be folding my hands as things unfold, but they will not be able to deliver extras more than what they've been doing in the past.

It's a litmus test though, I hope it's worth it more than before. And as for the quality of stadiums, I bet the US is qualified, no wonder more matches would be played there. So qualified are Canada and Mexico, but playing lower hosts perhaps due to their capabilities.
5029  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: April 22, 2023, 09:13:59 AM
I am surprised to see the game of two teams Arsenal vs Southampton today in Premier League. Arsenal is now in the first position in the points table. But no one thought that Arsenal will share the points of the match with such a weak team so easily. But Southampton played very well in this match.  Southampton is at the bottom of the points table. Southampton might never have imagined that the match would draw with Arsenal. Arsenal performed so poorly that the two teams had to share the points in the match.
I just could not believe my eyes how Arsenal came from behind and managed a valuable point against Southampton. Arsenal's title race could fade away, but made an impressive comeback. However, it felt like a total defeat for Arsenal. With three draws in a row, they have now failed to win back-to-back games in the Premier league, which is a worrying sign for their title hunting.
What I could deduce from the match is that Arsenal might probably end with 2nd position this season, they played nonsense. Southampton should have been +3 for them easily, but almost beat them. I just could not expect such at this crucial time in their history. From the very 1st minute, they were scored against, how careless could that be?

Well, it's an opportunity for Man City that still have 2 matches to play before they will be even with Arsenal. If they win the 2 matches, then here comes our new hero.
5030  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me in choosing wallet before I make mistake on: April 22, 2023, 08:56:20 AM
Binance is a good choice for flexibility if it fully operates in your country, you will be able to deposit and withdraw your money easily, and you can also trade with it. But be mindful of the fact that it's a custodial exchange, meaning your coin will be in their care that keeps it for you but you don't practically own it until you withdraw it out.

In case you want the non-custodial wallets (where you own it with the private key), you might try the following;
1. Coinomi wallet (https://www.coinomi.com/en/)
2. Electrum wallet(https://electrum.org/)
3. Blue wallet (https://bluewallet.io/)
4. Unstoppable wallet (https://unstoppable.money/)

However, if you plan to invest so much money, then a hardware wallet is the best option.
5031  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why does Bitcoiner still support the use of centralized exchanges? on: April 22, 2023, 08:34:27 AM
Why do they continue to support centralized exchanges, use them, and retain their Bitcoin there?
This might look strange to you, it's the centralized exchange that has made Bitcoin more colourful, adaptable and appreciated thus far, not the decentralized ones. Everyone needs speed, easiness, flexibility and dynamism in what they do, that's what the centralized exchange is giving. They've given us a reason to own a coin without fear of how to sell it and how fast it could be achieved since there is easy access to using it the way we want.

Is it for investment, skating, trading, exchange, you name it? The centralized exchange makes these so easy. And their P2P system is the best. Personally, I might have been discouraged without them.
5032  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Technical aspects of Bitcoin that hard or just for the talented. on: April 21, 2023, 08:32:30 AM
A newbie(guess my profile speaks for itself) I came across a thread that talked about the importance of technical analysis and I was hooked and tried to read some articles on it here. But despite how hard I try its just different terms been used and when I read about the said term I come across more words am unaware of. Sometimes there are some that involves code and seeing them make me feel like am seeing magic. So wanted to know if technical analysis requires talent or if not then can anybody assist me with something like "Technical analysis for dummy" because I can't really seem to understand it.
Thank you.

P.S I am sorry for the poor way I coined my question.
I meant Bitcoin technicalities like Block chains, hash rate, nodes and the likes.
I can already apply technical analysis just want to research more on the technical aspect of Bitcoin because coming across certain terms i don't understand while reading a thread is painful.
Coding and technical analysis in trading are not the same, you need the knowledge of coding before you can understand it. And by this, you can script your strategy into useful functions for signal generation automatically if your trading platform allows it.

That said, technical analysis deals with all the chart studies that can help you analyze Bitcoin and then come up with a decision on whether to buy or sell at a point in time. There are many things to learn under this subject, but I advise you to mainly train and stick to price action, trendline, pivot point, Fibonacci, and Ellliot wave strategies. You can choose one or more and also combine them together if you want. Google and learn them one by one.

Note: Do not depend on those common indicators, they will fail you.
5033  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 21, 2023, 08:12:53 AM
Naglesmann was a good enough coach. Bayern Munich's performance was not bad. Munich's performance against Manchester City was poor due to the dismissal of Naglesmann. Tuchel is quite experienced as a coach. But then he is new to the Bundesliga. He is also not familiar with Bayern Munich players. And so Tuchel needs more time to strengthen this team. At the same time, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Bayern Munich doesn't win the title this season. Munich's performances have been somewhat erratic, while Dortmund is in very good form.
It also seems a little less effective if the poor performance that is happening to Bayern Munich at the moment is associated with Naglesmann's dismissal as Bayern Munich coach. Because I see this because Manchester City's performance has gotten better than Bayern Munich in the UCL so that Bayern Munich must be eliminated from the UCL competition this season, but for the Bundesliga I am still very confident that Bayern Munich can win even though Dortmund's performance at the time it just keeps getting better.
I won't say that Bayern Munich has performed as expected this season, they were better than this before, so we should conclude that they are still in a trying time despite being the leader of the table. If care is not taken this season, Dortmund will win the trophy, the 2 points trailing is risky, and it's not the case with the status of distant gapping they used to have.

Also, I don't know that much reason why they sacked Julian Nagelsmann and replaced him with Tuchel who has not been able to deliver till now.
5034  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: April 21, 2023, 07:16:00 AM
Now that only Serie A is left, that is good for them this season because this also shows that their quality has improved this season.

Anyway, now Juventus is moving to 3rd position because they got the 15 points they lost before.
This is becoming interesting and I am quite worried about our 2 semi-finalists this time in the Champions League because with Juventus now, indirectly their level has shifted and now they are in a less favorable condition.
With the restoration of results from Juventus, who did not receive punishment, the players were even more excited because they did not lose 15 points and they made it into the top three at the top of the standings. Now, Juventus must try to get up with the final result and hopefully be able to catch second place so that when they do win second place, I'm sure many Juventus fans will love and give full support to Juventus.
I'm happy for Juventus, this season has been turbulent for them and the news of the deduction of 15 points from their standing affected them so much. This, I believe did not let them concentrate and win matches with determination. If they did, they will be standing at the second spot today though they do not have the chance of changing the first position of Napoli this season. The club has been so brilliant in performance.
5035  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Please, let's stop painting Nigerians bad on BTT on: April 21, 2023, 07:05:45 AM
Personality and reasoning vary but I will say my mind. And to avoid drawing the attention of external people on the forum, I will not put @name.

I'm dragged into this because I wrote a topic on the meta section (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5449138.0) on Monday tackling what a legendary rank member (I didn't want to tag such) wrote about AI-generated content. This was because a very good writer could be affected by his detection-suggested approach. The reply of people however encouraged me to do a little detective task on the forum on this subject for the first time, and sincerely, I'm not happy with my investigation.

70% of the 10 accounts tested guilty (though new ones) have identified with us by writing on our board. After using AI-detection sites and ChatGPT, I still proceeded to carefully study the posts manually to deliver my verdict. The plagiarism is much even as some of these posts had already been declared AI-generated by other users before me. I find this implicating, and I advise us to stop it.

I'm not accusing anybody, yet it's obvious, the little way we can behave ourselves and uphold the image of the country should be utilised. We all abuse politicians and others here, craving for a change, but are we good ambassadors too?

You will be surprised that some of these people are even more brilliant and vast than those that write well by themselves. But laziness and trying to cheat and outsmart everywhere they find themselves make them do it.

Let's stop the selfish and I-don't-care attitude that has cost us and our country so much pain.

Thanks!
5036  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: April 20, 2023, 10:12:05 AM
I'm sure many Arsenal fans were watching the game tonight between their main competitor Manchester City and Bayern Munich in the champions league because they know Manchester can have this good performance to even beat a strong team like Bayern Munich, This can show us if Arsenal loses any points this week against Southampton or any other team Manchester City is ready to use the chance the got.
Arsenal fans are watching but to be honest, can you tell me what urgency from arsenal fans to watch the match between manchester city against bayern munchen? In my opinion if arsenal will really care about watching the match of manchester city in premier league rather than UCL.
It's caused by the competition between arsenal vs man city happening in the premier league. I see no urgency to watch the match between city against bayern other than for the betting purpose.

Arteta needs to prepare its club. Soton can't be underestimated at this moment. Arsenal must not need to make blunder anymore. Getting a draw or lose gonna be a disaster for arsenal. it's caused by the club having no chance other than winning the game.
No win or draw = No EPL title for this season.

Arteta urges its club to be even more ruthless to make sure the club will able to secure full points. it's caused by the result of the previous match which was really disappointing for arteta.

You are absolutely right, it is the very same thing I said in my previous comment, Arsenal is in a very tight spot right now, and doesn't matter whether to watch matches played by Manchester city in the UCL, what is most important for them now is to make sure to win all their games, their biggest rival right now is Manchester city, and this guys are damn serious.
Arsenal must make sure not to lose or draw any game they are playing from henceforth, else, they will loss the title to Manchester city, and I can imagine how disappointed their fans that supported them all this while would be.
The Manchester City team has great potential to do well this season. As the team has been performing exceptionally well this season, the English Premier League is also in great form. But there are great opportunities in the Champions League this season.
The present Bayern doesn't have all it takes to win against Man City, and the City has been impressive in their plays in both the EPL and UCL. They are not new to the two tournaments and will always be one of the top runner-ups even if they could not win the leagues this season. They might reach the final stage of the UCL, if they didn't, who will?

And the way they are trailing Arsenal is so dangerous for the Gunners. I know they will win their next match and will be trailing Arsenal with just a point, and might probably lead at a slight mistake of the Gunners.
5037  Economy / Gambling / Re: Duelbits.com | Casino & Sportsbook | VIP | Instant withdrawals!|ARGENTINA & AVFC on: April 20, 2023, 09:43:58 AM
If the support team has provided clear information to you, at least you have to be patient and wait until your withdrawal is complete.
by the way do you have any proof so we can see your problem with detailed screenshots?[/left]
They might not give you timeline of when the withdrawal be processed as they have to check all the details and make sure that bet was placed in a legit manner so as to avoid unnecessary withdrawal. So he should wait a little bit more and team might also respond in other thread about the issues as he has not provided sufficient proofs also.So wait to see any updates on this one.

Would also like to see more details. Normally Duelbits processes withdrawals pretty fast so if you need to wait longer than a day, something is off. You will need to contact support yourself and they will probably ask for KYC also if there is unusual activity.

at the end of the day it's better to assume they'll always ask you for KYC and KYC beforehand if you want to play there
this way one can avoid problems afterwards

way worse to have the stress of dealing with KYC after a big win and not knowing if you'll be able to retrieve the money
Like I always say, "What is worth doing is what doing well," I can't work with a casino that will not ask for my KYC, and since I know that, I will not deposit my money in a casino that has not validated my account. It's better to do it first and let your mind be at rest and face your gambling completely, which will help in avoiding withdrawal delays and the like.

However, from what I read from you guys, you can trust Duelbits, this is not the first time they handle such issues, just follow up with the support.
5038  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can i make 100 $ daily from online casinos on: April 20, 2023, 09:35:47 AM
No, there is no gambling strategy that would give you a guaranteed winning daily. No matter how good you are at gambling, you will lose some and win some, and in my experience, you will lose more than you win, but still, good management of your gambling portfolio will be your sustenance.

The $2k you have is a very good one, do not unify your gambling, diversify it but be sure it's on what you fully understand.
5039  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best trading strategy for everyone! on: April 20, 2023, 08:35:30 AM
First, thank you for sharing your trading strategy, some will not, mainly when it works well. But have you tested this strategy for at least 6 months to know whether it's excellent and recommendable? Some strategies will look promising when used for a little time when the market favours that particular strategy but will continue to misbehave many times after.

Personally, I don't like any strategy that will trade short-term, 3 minutes timeframe is too short, and they will either not work or too demanding for us that can't be staring at the chart as such. I wonder how many trading opportunities low-risk traders of spot trading would be realised with it.

However, I would love it more if you can show your regular trading results with it.
5040  Economy / Economics / Re: Americans go to Mexico for medicals to cut costs. on: April 20, 2023, 08:19:47 AM
Medical Tourism isn't new, in the field of dentistry for instance, people often visit third-world countries like the Philippines to get cheaper and stronger dental implants that lasts as long, if not longer, than a typical dental implant in the US. Just funny how their previous president is so indignant with building a tall-ass wall so no Mexicans can cross the border and illegally import themselves to US, and then we have Americans right here who may or may not have deported themselves illegally just so they can pay reasonably priced medical bills. Makes me wonder too, what the fuck happened to Obamacare right there? I saw a post back then featuring a surgery bill only amounting to 400 bucks, with "thanks to Obamacare" captions, why was it abolished?

Obamacare was ended as soon as Trump had a chance to do so, in behalf of the Republican party and their political donors which may or may not have had interests in getting rid of that program.

If I recall correctly, back in the day the republican voters argue that Obamacare was a bad idea because it opened a possibility for people to abuse it, which would have led to less quality in medical services and an increase of medical cost in the whole market; while democrats said it was a good option for people to access some kind of minimal medical healthcare which could not afford otherwise.

As a rule of thumb, Republicans do not like anything which remotely seems to be socialist.
The real question is, why is the medical field so unregulated in the USA? Doctor charged my friend with $3000 for 2-3 minute call where the only valuable thing she told to her was to just take a half dose of medicine if she can't tolerate side affects.

The only solution here is to regulate the medical field. Doctors should charge real values, not something taken out of thin air. $3000 for 2-3 minute call? Cmon, this kind of communication is always free with doctors in Europe.

Let's take insulin prices for example. Why should the price of insulin be 20x, 200x higher in the USA compared to Turkey? There is no way that labor or delivery or any other thing is that much expensive in the USA to make it cost so high. American healthcare business model is like: Well, this is a medicine that humans need to survive, they can't live without it, so make it as expensive as possible to make as much money as possible.
This is devastating! The only solution here is regulation, not obamacare or any other financial aid.
I think its a good idea these days to get online consultation - but if you have to get the online consultation - like mentioned in the next comment
One can check the other country doctors as well.
This would be more cost friendly and would save us for financial loss
The reason that made US companies set up their business or factory in another country is the same reason why people could go elsewhere to access the facilities and services that the US could provide. Cost is the factor! Medical tourism is not an exception, people are trying to cut costs, and if the alternative could deliver the same service or almost the same service, then it's a good bargain as far as I'm concerned.
